UPDATE: I contacted my insurance company, and they confirmed that LV smiles' statement contained discrepancies and that the dental office needs to correct them. You would expect their staff to have handled those adjustments correctly from the beginning. Stay away from this office if you want to avoid going out of your way to dispute LV smiles' random charges. Clearly something shady is going on at this office to get people to pay an absurd amount of money when in reality they owe nothing. read more

I rarely write reviews, but since I no longer go to LV Smiles, I feel it's important to share my experience, especially after the majority of the good staff left the office. I began going to LV Smiles around 2022 or 2023, and the experience back then was great. The former staff were amazing. Daisy, the previous receptionist, always had a positive attitude and provided excellent customer service. Unfortunately, once she and other staff left, everything changed. Since then, the front desk experience has been consistently poor. The receptionists often have an attitude and rarely respond to emails, forcing you to call just to get basic assistance. Yajaira, one of the receptionists, was especially difficult to work with. When attempting to schedule an appointment, she would not respond, and it took several follow-ups over multiple days just to get something scheduled. I specifically requested an afternoon appointment because the office is not open on weekends, meaning I had to use my PTO to attend. The day before my appointment, I received a text stating my time had been changed from 1:00 PM to 11:30 AM, despite the fact that I had another appointment at the DMV that morning and had already taken time off work. While I was told we could reschedule, I made it very clear prior weeks before that I needed a firm date and time and that my schedule could not be moved around. I was assured an exception would be made. The next day, I received a call an hour before my appointment while I was at the DMV. I texted back, but didn't receive a response until four minutes before my appointment, by which time I had already parked and paid for parking. Situations like this show a complete lack of respect for patients time. I usually try to be understanding, but this clinic has gone downhill significantly, especially since they changed orthodontists. Dr. Jones was wonderful, and it's unfortunate she is no longer there. After everything, all I received was a generic acknowledgment of my frustration. To make matters worse, I requested my X-RAYS the next day and was told they would be sent. After one week, no response. After three weeks, still nothing. When I finally called, Lisette was kind enough to send everything within five minutes. I would also like to add that a family member currently goes to this office and experiences issues nearly every other visit, which further shows that these problems are ongoing and not isolated. Overall, the doctors and front desk staff are unprofessional. At the very least, patients should feel like their time and concerns matter. A little professionalism and accountability would go a long way. If you value professionalism and respect for your time, I recommend finding care elsewhere. read more

I gave this place a second chance, and I wish I hadn't. The dental experience is fine enough, but the number of insurance billing issues I've run into due to simple oversight by the front desk is.... expensive, and frustrating. Also, was berated by regional manager Yuri for calling a phone number during business hours because it turned out to be a personal number.... please don't include those in billing emails (bolded and highlighted in purple???) if you don't want them called. Office staff constantly messes up billing then harasses you and even threatened collections. Any situation where they don't get paid, they don't even bother to contact insurance to question why bills were not reimbursed... they just throw the whole bill at you. Most, if not all of the time, they aren't being paid because of their own errors. A couple 2 minute calls to the insurance company got explanations and everything settled. Why can't they do that? It's their job... Outsourcing your billing department to your patients is a great way to lose business. read more

Lakeview Smiles has got to be the worst dental office I've ever experienced. Twice they scheduled me for appointments and canceled them on the day of the appointments. Once, they didn't cancel it until I drove out all the way to Bucktown, signed in, and had been sitting in their waiting room. A third time I had a long standing appointment with their oral surgeon. They said he was not there and handed me off to a general dentist. They have their front office staff make up transparent lies to their patients. I went to the back of their office and found the oral surgeon hiding in a back room. They promised me a "discount" for my troubles. Never saw it. The office is a clown car with drills. read more

I literally never write yelp reviews because I understand that mistakes happen. But the amount of second chances I gave this place is unreal, and I never had a good experience here. First of all, I got referred to an implant specialist that was 3x as much money as the one I ended up going to simply because it was a family member of the dentist. Secondly my dentist was consistently rude to me and set up appointments without the specialist they needed to be at the appointment not once but 3 times. They missed some issues that I had leading them to become worse in the long run. And lead me to have to spend thousands of dollars at another dentist to fix the improper work that they had done while at their office. Please look into other options. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a healthcare professional. read more

I wandered into this office about a year ago, after neglecting my teeth in a terrible cycle of anxiety and avoidance for years. I hadn't been to the dentist in over 5 years, and was embarrassed because I knew I had cavities, and I knew my now consistent brushing and flossing wasn't enough to make up for all the neglect. This office has taken great care of me in a supportive and non judgmental manner, every step of the way. I had to have quite a few fillings, which they broke up into chunks over time. I just had a cleaning today and can confirm my teeth and gums are in wildly better shape today than they've ever been in my adult life. It's great to feel like I'm finally on the right track with my dental health, and to know I've got a team watching out for me. They genuinely care, and every person in the office is friendly and kind. If you're on the fence about going to the dentist and worried about judgment, having anxiety, feeling overwhelmed by the amount of work that needs to be done, or having your questions answered with integrity and kindness, you can trust that this team will take care of you. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Lakeview Smiles (Logan Square/Bucktown location), but I'll certainly try to here. Every single aspect of my experience here from start to finish has been phenomenal. To start, the facility is very nice, and I definitely felt that the whole team was taking COVID precautions very seriously which made me feel a lot more comfortable about being there. With regards to logistics, Josie was amazing in getting me setup with my appointments and helping make the registration process as painless as possible, and was just one of the friendliest people to talk to. She also helped explain the billing and helped with my insurance. As for the actual cleaning, my hygienist Rama needs some real recognition! She is terrific and left me feeling so much better about my smile than when I first came in. She did what she could to make me feel comfortable throughout the experience, was very informative in explaining everything that was going on, details about my teeth, things we could improve on, etc. Most importantly, she left me with a squeaky clean smile that I'm proud to show off. I also needed to have some fillings done, and Dr. Raoof made that process so painless. I was so fascinated by the efficiency with which she worked with the help of Ivonne (I think, I met a lot of people here ). Dr. Raoof made sure that I felt comfortable before getting started, explained what we'd be doing, and got everything done in what felt like such little time. I'm so glad I made the decision to schedule an appointment at Lakeview Smiles. I feel like even if you're someone who hates going to the dentist, the team here could change your mind about that. I have been to this office three times in the last year for two cleanings and one whitening.  Josie at the front desk is the sweetest! She has a bubbly personality and she makes you feel welcomed the moment you walk in. The office currently has new restrictions for COVID, she made sure that each precaution was explained (taking temperature, using hand sanitzer etc.) I felt comfortable knowing they were taking the right precautions for cleanliness and safety.  In my first visit, Dr. Grace Lee was so personable and even provided an in-depth explanation about my TMJ. She even recommended a chiropractor for my TMJ (a cheaper, less painful route to fix TMJ (as opposed to surgery)) Sandra took care of my whitening! She talked me through the entire process and her enthusiasm was something I could not forget. She said these words verbatim, "I love my job! I could do this for 100 years! I love cosmetic dentistry!" This was extremely comforting to hear since it was also explained to me that I would be sitting on the dentist's chair for nearly an hour with a Dental Mouth Opener holding my mouth open! I love the decor, it is pretty and girly. I also love the new technology in each room and like the cameras they use to show us our teeth/cavities etc. It has been a great experience at this new office and I have recommended others to use this office. I couldn't be any happier with my new veneers and overall experience at Lakeview Smiles Bucktown. It was a process and I had a number of cavities! Going to the dentist is not easy for me or my anxiety. However, Dr. Shohreh Raoof and her team were understanding and very caring. TLDR - office runs late Below is the email correspondence I had with their Director of Finance: Jan 23, 2023, 3:16 PM Hi Chaniqua, Hope your day is going well! I spoke with someone at Bucktown's front desk and received your email. I'd like to request $110 off my cavity fillings since both of my appointments for 1/23 and 1/17 were 30 minutes late. Originally, I was scheduled for 1/16 and 1/17 only, but since the 1/17 appointment was late, Dr. Raoof asked if I would be willing to come in a separate time on 1/23. I accepted, hoping that it would help her business run smoother for the day and with the understanding that scheduling mistakes can happen here and there. But for a third appointment to be made and for the schedule to run late again was very disappointing. Lakeview Smiles may need to pad more time between clients so that this stops happening or update their clients when a day starts shifting behind schedule. I also explained to the front desk manager that I run my own business and could've fit in two more clients with this lost hour. Each client pays $55 for half an hour, hence my request for $110 off my bill. Given the circumstances from this past week, I appreciate your consideration and look forward to hearing your response. I apologize for your wait time, I'm not exactly sure what transpired that may have caused her to run behind. We are a healthcare facility and there are times that things happen during procedures that are out of our control. The office does value our patients time and the office does it best to stay on time. I see that Josie extended you a discount on other services that are not covered by insurance as a gesture of good will. That is the only avenue that we have due to the contractual limits. An absolutely terrible visit. Terrible enough to compel me to write my first Yelp review. Was incorrectly scheduled at the Bucktown location for an orthodontics consult, and the orthodontist is never in the Bucktown office. I suggest (so that the visit is not a complete waste of my time) I get a cleaning. They agreed to this and I had my xrays rushed over by my previous dentist. Instead of a hygienist coming to do my cleaning, a dentist comes in and gives me an incomplete (in her own words) dental exam (she couldn't even tell me if i had a cavity). I appreciated that on some level, because she had a patient, but I never wanted a dental exam, I guess they were just trying to give me *something*. After the exam, the dentist says that even though my X-rays were under a year old, they would have to take new ones (which I would have paid for out of pocket) to get a cleaning. Oh - and the dental hygienist was double booked, so the cleaning they told me I could get half an hour prior was impossible from the start. So I, understandably irritated and confused (I usually get 2 cleanings per year with 1 yearly X-ray with no problem), start asking the dentist for some clarification. She got very hostile and accused me of trying to 'intimidate' her and 'demand' services, when I was just asking questions. I got neither service I asked for (they took it upon themselves to give me the incomplete exam) but she suggested I leave happy and satisfied because she saw me and "her time is valuable" (and mine isn't?). So I gave up and said 'I guess if I can't have an ortho consult or a cleaning, there is nothing I can do today', and Dr. Raoof responds dismissively "Then you should have said that at the beginning. Let's wrap this up." Wow. Absolutely no 'bedside manner', extremely rude. The staff member (who told me I could get the cleaning) offered no apology, and simply handed me my stuff in silence and I left. As I sat waiting for my car, the receptionist who incorrectly scheduled me in the wrong office did not even apologize for any of the confusion/ miscommunication/ overpromising of services. Really inept/rude staff, and a very poorly managed office. Worst dentist visit I've ever had. read more

I moved to Chicago a year ago and obviously I had to find a dentist, PCP, and everything else. After weeks of research and asking friends, I stumbled upon Lakeview Smiles and scheduled my appointment. The service is THE best I've ever had in my life. I've seen so much improvement and the staff is amazing!!!! They are cery friendly and they also take their time explaining everything and making sure you understand everything. I have been a patient at the Lakeview location. The dental hygienist there have always been great to fix this smile. I was happy to hear this new location has opened up closer to me. Lakeview location was a bit far for me but this place is so much closer!! This new facility is super cute and welcoming! If you have a fear of going to the dentist I suggest you come to this facility with great dental hygienist team! My dental hygienist that day, Cynthia, has a warm personality that makes you comfortable while she's doing your cleaning. It was pain free and my teeth felt brand new afterwards! I have to do wisdom tooth removal someday, which is giving me anxiety knowing I HAVE to get it done, but I know I will be in good hands at this location! I'm a new patient at Lakeview Smiles and had my wisdom tooth extracted this passed Saturday by oral surgeon Alexander Katsnelson. We all know there's nothing fun about goin to the dentist and losing a tooth. However from the moment I walked in to their new beautiful location I was greeted with friendly smiles and attended to right away. His assistant ensure I was comfortable while Katsnelson finished another patient. He explained everything in great detail and once the procedure started it was quickly over. I've been in minimal to no pain or discomfort and would highly recommend their new location. Their customer service is amazing and you can truly tell everyone enjoys what they do! read more
