My family and I have been going to Lee Dental Clinic for almost 10 years. If you're looking for a professional, caring office this is the place. After visiting another dental office last year out of convenience (closer to our home), I found out the hard way how much more aggressive other dentists are with their treatment plans and only seem to be concerned with allowable dental benefits. Nothing like that with Dr. Andrew Lee and Dr. Anthony Lee. They are conservative in their approach and always helpful and informative. I absolutely dread going to the dentist, but can't wait to come back here! I got referred here by a coworker, and this will be my go to place in Chicago. I had a question about my insurance being covered here and I emailed their help email, and the doctor himself responded immediately!! I was shocked that it wasn't an automated response or the receptionist, but the doctor who would actually be seeing me. Now once I got there, I only waited about 5 minutes. I got an annual cleaning, and when he was done, I was like that's it?? I barely felt a thing, but my teeth still felt minty clean. Dr. Lee even cleaned my retainers for free and gave me a free new case. Also, they give you a great bag with a full tube of toothpaste and some travel size stuff as well! The receptionists are rude and ridiculous. The dentists may be great, but scheduling an appointment is the biggest headache of your life, try somewhere else. After my first phone call without any inquiries or greeting I was put on hold. For 5 minutes. I hung up and called again, this time the daft receptionist told me their earliest available date for an appointment was in 3 weeks, and when I said I couldn't make it that particular day, she hung up on me. A top came off one of my wife's old crowns recently, we've been back in town only a few months, and while we were away her former dentist retired. A friend told me Anthony Lee was great with her husband. So I call and explain our situation to their longtime receptionist. She puts me on hold, and two minutes later we have an emergency date on Good Friday with Andrew Lee. I figure, "if my friend loves Anthony, how much worse can the brother be?" We get there, the office is closed, and Andrew -- whose bike is in the waiting area lol -- is working on another more involved emergency in the other room. He checks in my wife himself, then reattaches her crown in 15 minutes. Andrew Lee was quick, friendly, sensitive, with the latest gear and, as dentists go, a nice bit of personality. On the way out he handed us a holiday card of pictures of him and his family! I don't know which Lee brother each of us will get when we call next week to make cleaning appointments, but we've found our new dentists. read more

This Yelp review should have been up months ago. Let me tell you, I have been to countless dental doctors. I am pretty particular with my doctors and never found a great dental doctor...until now. During my visit, Dr. Lee was professional, kind, and gentle with checking my gums and teeth (chemotherapy did more than a one two punch on my oral lining and gums). He performed my teeth cleaning and thoroughly explained what I can do to minimize teeth grinding and root exposure. Dr. Lee is knowledgeable and competent in his profession. His staff are friendly and accommodating. I will be going to this office as long as I'm here in Chicago. I saw Dr. Anthony Lee for a cleaning and a check-up, and my experience exceeded my expectations. I've had many dentists in the past (mainly due to insurance changing and moving from LA to Chicago and also trying to find the best fit for me), and Dr. Lee is among the best. My last cleaning was over a year ago, and my previous dentist's hygienist failed at cleaning my teeth thoroughly. As a result, my teeth continued to accumulate plaque and my surface stains only became worse. I now have moderate to severe gingivitis that I'll have to treat and remedy. Dr. Lee didn't shame me for my gingivitis, which I really appreciated. Dr. Lee examined my teeth for cavities (none this time!!!) and cleaned my teeth as well. I've never had a dentist act as his own dental hygienist, and I was a bit skeptical at first to be honest. However, he did just as great of a job as some of the best dental hygienists I've had in the past. I would definitely recommend Lee Dental Clinic to anyone who is looking for a dentist. Went through 3 different dentist offices in Chicago and have ended up at Lee Dental for 5+ years. They are family run and treat patients very well. I was looking for a dentist who focused only on what is required to keep my teeth healthy. I wasn't looking for upsells, cross sells, etc that you typically get from other dentist offices that run it like a car dealership. ALSO, the dentist also does the cleaning which is very rare these days. That way you can get your teeth checked and cleaned on the same appointment. This saves A LOT of time. The office is very basic and I don't think they use computers yet. It reminds me of dentists from the past. I actually find it charming and know they are focusing their effort on the customers and not being some kind of Spa. If i want a spa, I'll go to a spa. I want a competent dentist who focuses on preventative services and takes an effort to know their patients. 5 Stars! read more

Dr Anthony Lee is the nicest and most gentle dentist I have ever seen. Besides cleanings, I have had fillings done and am very happy with his work. My mother had bridge work done by the other Dr Lee and raved about him so when I decided I was not happy with my dentist I gave Lee Dental a try. That was 5 years ago and every time I go in I have a pleasant experience. I use to go to fancy, schmancy, spa like dental places, one even served fresh baked bread, no more, give me the down home good ole family practice. Today I had my first appointment with Dr. Andrew Lee, who had been recommended by my former dentist. I'm quite "senior", and looking to keep my health practitioners fairly close by. My former very good dentist (now in a distant suburb) recommended Dr. Lee, who had been one of his students some years ago. Everything positive that anyone has posted here is true. Prompt appointment, friendly atmosphere, state of the art equipment, great staff, genuine concern for the whole patient; works with you to meet YOUR needs: nobody tried to sell me any bridges - Brooklyn or otherwise! He did the cleaning himself - painlessly, thoroughly - I didn't even know it was over until he said, "That's it!" I could not possibly have asked for a better experience. The practice (founded by his father) has been in the neighborhood for decades. And it's 10 minutes from my home:-) A win, for sure! read more

We have an established relationship, he only does work that is necessary, and is very intelligent and efficient. He does his own cleanings. I'm not going to have dental insurance for a while and Dr. Lee worked with me at my last checkup to make oral health decisions that are in my best interest as we continue our work together sans dental insurance. I initially went here due to the fabulous reviews and my friend's recommendation. I went there for a teeth cleaning, which seemed pretty good. A year ago, I had 2 cavities filled, one on the right and one on the left. All seemed to be well, until I had some tooth pain in January. Since I had gone back to school, my insurance changed and I had to go to another dentist. Turns out the cavity I had filled on the right side wasn't done well so my new dentist re-did it. I didn't want to complain to Dr. Lee about my filling in case it happened to be my fault. Friday (Aug 5), as I was flossing, the filling for my left molar popped out! I've had cavities filled before, and nothing like this has ever happened. I called Dr. Lee's office to try to see if they could fix it for me since this was the second time it happened. I explained to the receptionist my situation, and she said the earliest he could get me in was September 6th. I wasn't going to wait a month to get the hole in my tooth fixed, so I scheduled an appointment for my new dentist. She fixed it on Monday! I asked her if the fillings popping out were because of something I did, and she said no, and that the white fillings I am using are technique-sensitive so if dentist doesn't completely clean off/dry off the tooth surface the filling won't bond. If you need something that requires good technique or a receptionist who cares about patients, don't go here! UPDATE: Dr. Lee sent me a personal e-mail apologizing for this whole fiasco. He also offered to pay me for the cost of my new fillings. I bumped my review from 1 star up to 4 stars for this, since it was so nice of him to offer to pay. Still doesn't change the receptionist's inability to schedule me in to fix the tooth (Dr. Lee apologized for her as well, since he says there are emergency spots available that she neglected to offer to me.) read more

I'm losing my dental insurance in approximately 9 days, and about a week ago one of my teeth started to bother me. I called about a million dentists trying to get an appointment while I still have insurance, and everywhere just kept telling me to try calling again later, in case there are any cancellations. I finally got an appointment with Dr. Anthony Lee at Lee Dental, and at first it seemed like a kind of bad sign. But hey, beggars can't be choosers, yes? Since it was my first time going there, the receptionist told me to come about 10-15 minutes early to fill it forms. They literally took 10-15 minutes to fill out. I don't think I was waiting more than 2 or 3 minutes before Dr. Lee was ready for me. In an hour, I had a cleaning, a cavity filled, and several X-rays done, so that I could see exactly what's going on with my wisdom teeth. I've had countless dentists tell me I'll need them out, but no one ever showed me or explained why they need to come out before. I also really liked that they play music while they fiddled with my teeth. As far as I'm concerned, the worst part of going to the dentist is the noise of the various machines. Having the music there gave me something else to focus on. Dr. Lee was very observant and conscientious, and I would absolutely go back when I one day have dental insurance again. read more

Until a year ago, I was sans dental insurance for almost 4 years and had some pretty awful experiences trying to temporarily deal with a tooth that needed a crown, but I could not afford said crown. (or any of the "thousands of dollars" of work that I supposedly "required" right at that moment.) My co-workers directed me here and my visits have been as great as getting your mouth picked/probed/drilled can be. Dr. (Tony) Lee took me through the very painful (for me) process of getting a crown. While I had the temporary crown, he even gave me his cell phone number in case I had any emergent issues. (I did not.) Crowns suck and it took 3 weeks for my mouth to feel normal again. I waited for over a full year go to back for a cleaning due to a wimpy fear of pain. I fully expected a lecture about the importance of 6 month check ups and yet another lecture about the other dental work I needed. I did not receive any of this, Dr. Lee was completely accommodating and understanding. During my last visit, I told him about a problem I've had for over 10 years, a problem other dentists have told me to "suck it up." He was able to come up with a solution and set me up with an appointment to fix it. It takes me at least 45 minutes to get here from my home or work but it is completely worth the drive. Dr. William Lee is an old family friend who has seen my husband and his siblings through their youthful teeth through braces and now, is still their dentist. Now, I'm part of the family dental plan. He's professional and when I had to have my wisdom teeth taken out, he was very helpful and carefully explained everything to me. I have sensitive teeth and sometimes, have dentists that aren't always gentle with them. On the other side, he doesn't do the basics like teeth cleaning and check-ups, he leaves that up to his son, Dr. Anthony Lee. As much as you're supposed to make appointments at most if not all clinics, Dr. Lee will fit you into his schedule at short notice when you are in serious pain. His experience and skills are rare and reassuring even though at first glance the settings may appear understated. He is patient and clarifies the dental procedure in a manner that helps you understand your condition satisfactorily and is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure the patient's comfort. I woke up in the middle of the night with an aching tooth and emailed a request fro a prescription, got an immediate response and rushed to the 24 hour pharmacy in my neighborhood. As if that's not all, he gave me an early morning appointment to check the tooth. It turned out that I had developed a cavity that he quickly attended to. I had an extraction done by Dr. Andrew Lee, and he was fantastic and very careful to explain the procedure and everything to me. He even gave me a number to reach him after, if it got infected or if I started having headaches. The only reason I give them 4 stars is because of their appauling front desk staff. Their office manager is always completely rude to me. I've been told by others that they go their for the excellent dental work, but that they dread dealing with her... Now I know why. I used to dread dentists (near phobia levels), so I would skip check-ups which resulted in lots of cavities. Discouraged after years of painful cleanings and some pretty terrible experiences, I listened to my sister (for once) when she referred me to Andrew Lee. Incredible, fantastic, thorough, painless, fast--whatever positive adjective you can think of likely fits. Andy has the flair of an artist and the precision of a brain surgeon. He's comforting, a true master of his trade, and very sincerely cares about helping people--something you never experience any more. I honestly cannot recommend any person more than I recommend Andy Lee. My girlfriend needed a dentist so referring her to Lee Dental Clinic was reflexive. She has Tony Lee (Andy's brother) who gets equally high praise. There's a possibility of me moving across the country in the future, but I will absolutely make my way back for any dental work. I'm excited to see how emphatically everyone on this page has supported Dr. Lee, I'm in the exact same boat, this guy is phenomenal and the only dentist I have ever been excited to go see, so allow me to share why..... I started going to Dr Lee because I lived near the office so it was convenient. The first time I went in I did the usual paperwork, greeted by a very friendly staff, and then sat back to read the magazines. This is not your normal collection of Highlights for the Kids and Home and Garden laying around, there are 25+ magazines laying around and everytime they have called me back I've been a little bummed to leave my reading. On my most recent visit I was reading an article in SEED (never heard of it before) on how the growth in population had increased the process of mutation and evolution in man kind. On to the dentistry, Dr Lee is amazingly friendly and remembers details about you, he takes the time before and after to talk to you and know you as a person. I can honestly say I've never really talked to my dentist before, let's face it, it's tough to talk with that suction thing hanging off your cheek. He's one of those rare people that can recall details about what you've said, when you go in for a six month check up he will reference things you spoke about last time and ask how those things are going. When we got down to business he was awesome, quick and painless, everything you want in a dentist. Then he did my X Ray and pulled up the images on his laptop. He removed the tablet screen from his laptop and started showing me my X Ray, pointing out what he was looking for, areas of potential concern and how we would monitor them to see if they would warrant a filling at some point. Amazing, 25 years of going to the dentist and nobody ever took this type of time to explain my teeth to me, all they ever said was brush and floss. So my wife and I started going to Dr Lee on a regular basis, she also adores him. Before the wedding I asked him about bleaching my teeth, why not, tons of pictures and I wanted to look nice. His eyes light up as I tell him this and he says that he has some bleaching solution that will expire in 3 months that he could give me. I still had to get the fitted mouth piece but he gave me several hundred dollars in free bleaching solution. When I told my wife this she was interested and wanted to do the same. When she spoke to their office she found out her insurance wouldn't cover her coming in for another 2 months (which would have been just after the wedding) but Dr Lee set it up so she could come in, get a cleaning, get the bleach and he held on to the bill to submit it after the 6 months. This was amazing, we both had some great smiles in all the pictures. So now, my wife and I are moving to California and yesterday we saw Dr Lee for what may be the last time for a long time. We told him about the move and he was very excited for us. He took the extra step to get our email addresses and email us our most recent X Ray and check up notes so we could take them to our new dentist after we move. Then at the end when we went to pay our copayments he refused to take our money, he said it was a parting gift and wished us the best. After a nasty bike accident that left 3 of my front teeth really chipped, I rushed over to Dr. Andrew Lee. I called first thing the next day, and they saw me within an hour of my call. Dr. Lee was very kind and patient with my very painful condition. He talked me through the x-rays and all of the procedures I would have to get done over the next few weeks. A few days later when I woke up in extreme pain after apparently grinding my teeth in the middle of the night, Dr. Lee saw me within the hour to make a mold for a mouth guard. He then also moved some appointments around to get me in for a fitting the very next day (a Saturday!). He has also been very helpful in helping me manage all the costs. I highly highly recommend Dr. Lee and his office. It is very rare to find a doctor (even more so a dentist) so flexible and absolutely interested in truly helping you out, while still being friendly. read more

I called the clinic and even though they were booked solid and wouldn't have had appointments for a couple weeks, they made time for me to come in that day. Dr Andrew Lee DDS saved my tooth - literally. If I'd waited to get it taken care of, he said I would've needed a crown! Dr Lee was great. I've been going to Lee Dental Clinic for about four years now, with Andy Lee as my primary dentist. It turns out we have mutual friends and lives in the same town I grew up in. Andy is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, not to mention extremely diligent and thorough when it comes to dentistry. I go in for a cleaning every six months, where he will take some x-rays and check overall health of teeth and gums. Then, my favorite part, the cleaning; he will use a steel hook to remove excess plaque, followed by a water drill to gently remove additional material, polish off each tooth with a pasty finish, and then floss and rinse to end the process. He sends you on your way with some goodies; extra toothbrushes and toothpaste. I can feel every groove after the process is complete (which means I need to floss more!) and we even have great discussion along the way. Going to the dentist for me is like pulling teeth... Hahaha okay bad puns aside. My parents and I have been going to Lee Dental for many years. It's a father son run practice. The father is my dentist and did my braces for me about 10 years ago. Now he just does a regular check up/cleaning for me. My mom and dad go to his son--they've gotten their teeth filled, cleaned and repaired. We always leave happy and they always give awesome goody bags with my favorite toothbrush, floss, coupons, and travel sized toothpaste. My only gripe is that you really have to schedule ahead of time to get a time slot. Scheduling ahead could mean more than a month...lol. read more

Dr. Tony Lee is great. He's easy to get into see, so close to my apartment, on my health plan, and passionate about what he does. Last time I was there he sold me a sonic toothbrush wholesale after I mentioned I was thinking about buying one. He's not pushy, he just tells it to you like it is and then gives you suggestions/options on how you can improve it. And best of all he always seems to be happy. Like this was his calling and he loves everything about it. The office waiting area is kinda run down but his equipment is top notch so don't let that fool you.
