I am SO glad I found Dr Renieris and her team for dental cleanings in the city. I have been here twice so far and will continue to frequent this practice as long as I can. There are options to schedule online and over the phone, both of which are easy to use. I have yet to wait long whenever I need to call for something. I'm always seen on time for my appointments, too. Everything is very clean and there is actually space in the exam room. My last hygienist (I think their name was Christian?) was absolutely phenomenal and caring about any sensitivity I have with my teeth! If you have sensitivity, you know how that can hurt so fast. Dr Renieris is hilarious and very relatable. The office is close to the Damen Brown line stop and there is street parking. There always seems to be spots, but heads up there is a school near the building, if you need to park when school is in session! The office is easy to access in the building itself and signs are easy to follow. I will recommend this office to anyone looking for a new dentist. Give this practice a shot! read more

I went with my wife and child to Dr. Renieris as our family dentist for a few years. 4 years ago I needed 2 implants and followed her referral for an oral surgeon, after which time Dental Masters did the dental work/installed the caps. With them being our first dental clinic in Chicago and having no other local point of reference, their out-of-pocket charges after insurance seemed very high to us ( as did the surgeon's). Dr. Renieris was always polite and friendly, as was her staff. A couple of years ago one of the caps came loose and I had to find a local dentist fast. He drilled a hole, tightened the screw, then plugged it back up. When Dental Masters stopped accepting my insurance, we switched to another local clinic one year ago, but we were on the verge of changing anyway considering the charges we still felt were excessive. Last week that implant cap became loose yet again. My current dentist suggested I reach out to Dr Renieris before going in blind to fix an issue not of his making. I just got off the phone with Dental Masters and they will charge me $125 to fix the loose cap that they installed, which has suffered no unusual force but has simply worked its was loose. Again. My current dentist will do this for less than Dental Masters. He also told me, not surprisingly, that had he installed this cap he would be fixing it for free. Dental Masters seems competent enough, but they are in it for the money. read more

Dr. Renieris is an outstanding dentist. I was a patient at Dr. Lani Basco's Smileworks before she passed; she, too, was an amazing dentist, and so when I found someone who was equally kind, gentle, and excellent at what they do, I was so pleased. This practice accepts my Commonwealth Dental HMO insurance plan, they even did the legwork of registering themselves with my insurance provider's approval roster. I love that they send out email alerts letting patients who are due for a cleaning know when an appointment slot has opened up. Twice this has been how I scheduled a cleaning. Dr. Renieris also saved the day by prescribing me a cream for the corners of my mouth which perpetually get angular cheilitis. I have asked MULTIPLE MDs AND PHARMACISTS about this and not a single one has ever suggested an antifungal prescription cream. They all have shrugged their shoulders and said to eat more vitamins and use Vitamin E oil. That has never worked. Suddenly, what Dr Renieris suggested for me has been the miracle solution I've needed. The entire staff is pleasant, welcoming, helpful. Dr. Renieris, like Dr. Basco, shows an extreme level of respect and regard for her patients, explaining what she is doing each step of the exam, being explicit with care instructions, and listening to her patients' concerns. After a frustrating experience with a previous dentist, I put off dental care for three years for fear of costly, painful procedures and upsells that my last dentist advertised as the inevitable. I was paralyzed by fear--not of "dental anxiety" or drill sounds or scraping, but for my checkbook. A coworker recommended Dr. Renieris after I voiced my frustrations, and told me to give her a try. After my appointment today, I am happy to say I've found my new favorite dentist. My teeth were efficiently cleaned, gums measured, and X-Rays taken, and...guess what. No expensive treatments upsold to me, no shilling for purely cosmetic plastic surgery--every cost and potential treatment path was explained with perfect clarity. Both the hygienist and Dr. were thorough and professional, exactly as a dentist appointment should be. This office is clean, bright, and open. You won't find fancy water features, virtual reality headsets, paraffin-wax treatments or LCD 4K TV raffles here, but that's what I love about this place. You know exactly where your money is going, and it's not to all the silly bells and whistles--just good (not so) old fashioned dentistry and patient care. The booking was amazingly quick and convenient compared with other places. I arrived on time and got rolling on time. Everyone was very nice and right on point. The first (and last) time I went to Dr. Renieris they took x-rays. No one actually looked at my teeth or measured my gums. Based on the x-rays alone, Dr. Renieris said that my gums were so bad that I couldn't get a regular cleaning and would need to come back for scaling and root planing. It would involve two appointments where they would have to numb my whole mouth. It would've cost hundreds of dollars. Dr. Renieris also said I needed to get my wisdom teeth out and made sure to let me know she could do it in office. My previous dentist (who I loved but had recently retired) told me there was no need to have my wisdom teeth removed. I chose to get a second opinion before scheduling the scaling and root planing. I had the x-rays sent to another dentist (who came highly recommended from friends). They measured my gums and said my gums looked great. They did a regular cleaning. He said my x-rays looked great and there was absolutely no need to have my wisdom teeth removed. Being upsold at the dentist is disgusting, but particularly egregious and completely unethical when it's for unnecessary treatments. I'm so glad I chose to get a second opinion. read more

Doctor is rip off she will set you up for working on tooth but when you show up for appointment she does cleaning not fixing the problem but charges you for the work she hasn't done . Be aware of this issue if you are patient of hers you will see what I am talking about . For that reason I don't go to rip off dentist . I just got back from my first appointment for a cleaning and checkup with Dr. Neems and it felt like an SNL skit. The receptionist was not friendly at all. Even booking an appointment was annoying. When I called in March to ask for the next available Saturday appointment, I was told "we're fully booked". So I said "are you booked on Saturdays until the end of time"? Only then did she realize what 'next available"meant and she gave me an appointment in May. On he day of my appointment, after waiting for 20 minutes, I was whisked into room with the dentist where he and his assistant almost immediately started the most traumatic cleaning I have ever experienced. It was so painful, the assistant was using the sucking tube so inappropriately and the whole time Dr. Neems was talking about how great their new equipment is. He also kept telling me how great my teeth are saying "Wow- you have all of your teeth, that is so great, and you don't have any fillings". I definitely have multiple fillings. They are natural/ tooth colored, but still, I thought that dentists were supposed to easily recognize them. He also failed to look for or mention the multiple cavities that I have. I didn't care to correct him because I shouldn't have to. It was so bizarre. This cleaning took about 5 minutes and when it was done, the doctor literally jumped up and said "so nice to meet you" and walked out to get his next patient. Even though this office is a 5 minute walk from my house, I would never return. read more

I came to tis dental office for my first time to ge a cleaning with Dr. Neems an I had a TERRIBLE experience compared to other dentists I've been to. I had to wait almost an hour to see the dentist and the cleaning only lasted 15 min! In the beginning, he used this ultrasonic device, which squirts out water, to scrape of the plaque and it was sharp and he scraped it against my gum-line numerous time, which really hurt. I jerked and said "OUCH" a few times, but he didn't seem to care and tried to justify his actions with saying, there would be moderate pain around the gum line, but I thought he was just being rough! And the dental assistant had a suction device, about the size of 2 straws put together, and it had strong suction power-you would think a device like that would be used in the operating room somewhere! She kept puting it close to my cheek and it would suction my cheek, lip and tounge with such strong force, to the point where that hurt as well! And she kept doing it! I was beyond irritated, that at the end I jus left without attempting to make another app. The dentist didn't even examine my mouth, like previous dentists, to make sure there are no tumors, growths, ulcers, etc. I think the main concern of this dentist was to get you out of there as soon as possible. My teeth weren' thoroughly cleaned either; there's still some plaque on them! I WOULD NEVER COME BACK TO THIS PLACE! read more

I cant be happier following Dr. Renieris to her new location in Lincoln Square. She is truly a wonderful dentist and she is always there for you to answer any questions or concerns. Location is Great and easy to park too. i've always been squeemish with teeth cleaning but i do it every 6 months. I don't normally post on yelp but today I had to. Thanks to Dr. Irene I had a great visit at the dentist (which is unusual for me to say) and it has only been my 2nd visit. The office is clean, the staff is friendly, the technology used and the extra personal touches all make you want to come back. Dr. Irene is just a great dentist. It is not as easy as it should be to come by a good dentist. She was very friendly and transparent with my x-rays. Very matter of fact, not pushy or salesy like other dentists I've gone to. The staff here especially the dental assistants are just amazing. I am typically a bit nervous at the dentist, and everyone there made my experience so comfortable and stress free. Location: Located in a very convenient and easy to find office building. Decor: Very up to date and modern. Not to mention very clean. Parking: plenty of street parking or you can pay to park in the office parking lot. Billing: Super quick and easy. Dr. Robert L. Neems, DDS is by far the worst dentist ever. He told me I had no cavities, neither did my husband. Imagine my surprise when a year after going to him, I suddenly have 3 abscessed teeth. I change dentists and am told I require 4 root canals and have 10 cavities, my husband has advanced periodontal disease. What kind of a dentist does not notice simple cavities? He took xrays, and had everything in his power to correctly diagnose us. DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST, YOU'LL REGRET IT read more

Every time I've gone, I've had an excellent experience. The entire staff; the receptionist; the hygienist, and Dr. Renieris are professional, extremely helpful and courteous. The facility is always clean and the atmosphere is calming. I've been seeing Dr. Renieris for several years and followed her to her new office at The Dental Masters of Ravenswood. I always feel very comfortable and safe when she is working on me. She has very good steady hands. She makes you feel at ease and shows that she takes great care in what she is doing. The hygienist takes the same care and caution when cleaning my teeth. Dr. Renieris has excellent communication skills; always taking the time to explain in detail, in an easy to understand manner, my diagnosis, treatment and preventive care. She is honest, but compassionate. She does not shy away from the truth when it comes to your dental care and the affect it may have on your health. When I have had dental issues which were not easily resolved or did not go as plan, she always took the time to figure out another approach or the best treatment to solve the issue; which shows excellent problem solving skills. I also know that she has a strong desire to learn and stays up to date on the latest advances in dentistry and attends dental conferences regularly. It's not only her excellent dental skills that make her a wonderful dentist, she also has great business sense. I have never had any billing issues and when I ran into problems with my insurance company, she was very knowledgeable and helpful in solving the problem. After a terrible up-sell experience at another dentists office, I went to Yelp to find a new one. After reading the reviews for Dr. Neems I checked with my Dental HMO and thankfully, he was on the list so I made the switch and scheduled a cleaning. What a refreshingly different experience! Being somebody who is not a big fan of dentists in general I usually only see one only when I have a serious problem. This generally leads to a rather poor relationship with my dentist. The biggest exception to this was Robert L Neems. I was Dr. Neems patient patient from August of 2012 until October of 2013 and I still would be if I lived in Chicago. He is hands-down the most gentle and good-natured dentist I have ever met. I had many problems that he attended to with great humor and great care. The most telling testimony to his ability is, I have not been to a dentist since October of 2013 and it is only now a loose cap due to my own foolishness that I must seek a new dentist here in the Quad Cities. If you can get accepted as an Albany Park Dental patient I highly recommend dr. Robert L means he is an extraordinary dentist. read more

From tooth filling to NO tooth within a week...NO THANKS! Will NEVER EVER GO BACK! Most traumatic dental experience of my life. I had a temporary filling removed and a permanent filling done by Dr. Neems. A ton of sensitivity right away. After experiencing excrutiating plan I called the office and was told first available appointment was later that week. Couldnt bear the pain so called in first thing next morning (they only open at 10am) and managed to get them to see me. Was told that I now had an abscess forming around the nerve of the tooth. Dr. Neems removed the permanent filling and replaced with a temporary again. I was told I needed to see an Endodontist for a root canal. That night my face swelled up and when I did see the Endodontist the next day she informed me that I had an infection so bad it was now spreding to my throat. There was nothing she could do to save my tooth. She said I needed to schedule an emergency extraction with an oral surgeon within next hour or I may end up in the hospital. They called an oral surgeon in the area were able to get me in and I had my tooth extracted within the hour. I realize things go wrong but I believe in this situation the Dr. was extremely negligant. They took xrays several times but I'm not sure they knew what was going on with that tooth. I'm not even sure that his staff that take xrays and assist are certified in any way. The tooth cleaning I went through with him was extremely painful as well. My family has had a lot of luck with the other DDS in the practice, Dr. Sharon Horwitz. I would have continued to just see her if it wasnt for such a HORRIFIC experience. She is amazing but I believe she only sees patients on Wednesdays. read more

I was impressed by the many positive comments about this Dental Clinic that I decided to be a first time patient here myself. I am so glad I did!! Thank you to all the people who recommended this Clinic!! They are very professional and friendly, and I felt comfortable, which is unusual for me at a Dentist's Office. The staff took their time with me, and I felt like they didn't rush through the appointment at all. I was't there for a long time either though which is great if you plan on parking on the street (I would say I was there for about an hour). I also felt comfortable asking them questions about my teeth, which they answered patiently and thoroughly. For being a new patient, from not having gone to the Dentist in about two years, I would strongly recommend this Clinic to anyone who is looking for a Great dental clinic that is pretty easy to get to whether you are taking public transportation or are driving. I would suggest to people who are new patients that when you are looking for the Clinic, is that IT IS NEXT DOOR to the Payless Shoesource on the southwest corner of Lawrence Ave and Kimball, in its own little building plainly labled "3403 W Lawrence Ave." You could nearly miss if you weren't looking hard enough while driving.
