Russ and Debbie, the owners, were so accommodating, enjoyable, helpful and easy going; people you could just spend all day talking to. There are some RV spaces to camp here so we stayed on site to make set up a little easier on the day of the memorial. We had family that rented a quaint one bedroom cabin on site as well. There is an outdoor covered kitchen area with a huge refrigerator, which allowed us to bring food in advance and prep the day before. It was all so convenient! They were in the path of the Dixie fire, so the drive out there is baron, but don't let that deter you. Once you arrive, you are surrounded by green trees and stunning scenery. It was a perfect hidden gem. We are so pleased with our entire experience at lassen meadows and would absolutely recommend it and use this venue again for other events.

The whole time we were there we were constantly having to get rid of giant black ants and other bugs. Also, none of the doors inside the cabin closed, not even the bathroom door. You could see inside the bathroom from the outside. The main door to get inside is easily opened without a key, which is not good at all. Also, the WiFi did not work during our time there. Not even in the areas we were told it would. Besides that, the area itself is nice. We enjoyed playing cornhole and badminton.

In the beginning of the trail, there is a General Store and restroom. The restroom is an actual restroom with toilet and sink. Not a portable potty! The trail to Burney Falls was easy. Different parts of the trail, there is a different view of the fall. The view from bottom of the fall was breathtaking. Be very careful if you want to get close to the fall. The rocks can be very slippery. We went off season so the crowds were not as bad as expected. If visiting Friday-Sunday or during the holidays, reservations are required. I actually received a $1 back as in a senior. I dislike that dog access is limited to parking lot, and observation area. Not allowed on stairs leading down to base of falls, on trails, posted properly. I understand people don't clean up after their pets plus you never know how dogs will interact. Their park, their rules. I love the rule that doesn't allow you to leave your dog(s) in the car, kudos. I think these dog rules apply to all California State Parks. Beautiful falls, great fall weather, friendly rangers.

We brought groceries and sleds and had a great time. I love the kitschy cabin decor, nice linens, and a well equipped kitchen (nice that basics like spices and olive oil are there for you...). Clean, cool and rustic with charming custom touches. The firewood was stacked with paper and kindling ready to go, and the cabin heated up quickly. My kids loved the vintage Pac Man game upstairs :) It's a wonderful family cabin. We will be back!

This was concerning to me because they charge everyone a $265 cleaning fee. Then when this was discussed with Lori, she was confused as to why we didn't bring it up at check in. I didn't know I had to thoroughly inspect the cleanliness of a rental upon arrival. I thought it was standard. Not here apparently. Lori was responsive but continued to make comments as things came up like "I'm surprised you're deciding to stay", as if we didn't pay $800/night to stay there. Their stove burners had issues the whole weekend, the slider wouldn't lock, they were using a PVC pipe for safety. House was very dated for the price. Views were beautiful but Wasn't impressed with the house at all.

We came in March while it was raining so we stayed inside most of the time but we can imagine coming here in the summer. There is so much to do and explore on land and on water. There are two lakefront retreats to choose from. We stayed in retreat #1 which sleeps 10 people. You can stroll down to the marina and boat docks. They also have a hot tub that you can use. We really enjoyed it on the cold day that we stayed.

My only complaint is one I've seen on other reviews and that is the cleanliness of the bedding. There were hairs under sheets. Luckily we had brought our own bedding but it should not be that way. I could see in corners of the room or bathroom there were hairs and dirt or debris. I think after each stay bedding should be fully replaced and mopping should be done along with cleaning toilets and showers . That is my biggest complaint and why we did not leave a tip. I would go back but would still bring my own bedding

We rented out both the house and adjacent cottage for a weekend family gathering and had a…read morewonderful experience. The location was perfect, right along the Sacramento River where we could watch the geese swim in the water, or walk right next to them as they wobbled through the grass in the large outdoor space at the back of the property. There was even a bench swing along the water, to enjoy the view, and boats available near the storage area for fishing. There are plenty of tall trees on and around the property, creating shade but also adding to the scenic view. It was lovely out there, a giant deck with great lighting and mist nozzles around the perimeter spraying water to keep guests cool as we walked in and out of the house. A good sized pool with floating tubes included. The fenced pool area with umbrellas and seating, and a bbq grill. Actually, there were 2-3 outdoor bbq grills on site, the one in the pool area was ideal because as one of our family members grilled burgers and hot dogs, he could just jump in the pool when the temperature became unbearable, lol. I mean Anderson seems to have 100 degree weather almost 24/7 in the summer... But not really, it dips in the evening, great for use of the hot tub near the deck. It's a really nice hot tub with jets that massage your back, neck, and legs at different pressures/speeds. It was soooo relaxing! On one of our nights, we made smores in the outdoor firepit. It's a beautiful setting with seating all around, including another bench swing. The fire wouldn't stay on at first (using the propane tank), but we eventually got it to work.. if you're not as lucky, there's coal hidden somewhere on the property if you look hard enough :P The inside of the house was perfect for our group, a spacious wide open space in the living room, kitchen, and dining area with lots of seating all around, enough for more than 12 people, almost half of them young kids (of course that's including the cottage). In the house, two smaller rooms, one master bedroom with a shower and jacuzzi, and a large office/writing/ multipurpose room which had multiple board games available, but we used this as another bedroom. Note there are no curtains or shades on the floor-to-ceiling windows on the whole backside of the house that opens to the porch.  Heavy duty kitchenware and appliances made cooking and serving family meals easy and convenient. Also, there are beach towels and bath towels in the closet for guests to use, which means you don't have to bring your own. There is no washer/dryer on site, but there is a laundromat down the street, near the 7-Eleven. The coffee table in the living room was metal on the surface, so that was ideal for the kids to use their magnetic toys on top. The TV was large, and we were able to connect to different apps, such as Netflix. And all of the couches were comfy for sitting and/or sleeping during our stay. At Riverside Homestay, pretty much everything you would need for an entertaining and relaxing getaway with loved ones is on the property. One problem we ran into is that some of the outlets in the cottage were not working. But other than that, the property's many amenities, with lots of fun waterplay outside and much needed AC indoors, made this hot summer weekend enjoyable. Pair that with good company, and it's all about creating great memories.
