    Skiing on Shasta

we're ready to reserve for next year! we love Shasta Harmony. The hot tub after skiing is other worldly.

RE Sunrise Mountain Cabin , Weed,CA Jan.2024 Although the scenery and view were great , unfortunately we experienced multiple Issues . Cleanliness such as mice droppings in and around dishes, counters , cupboards. We had to wash every surface and dish we used. And a used tampon applicator in bathroom cupboard. Heater in living room stopped working for a night and a day . Heater in master bedroom still shuts off randomly with error code beeping and filter light. Loose electrical outlet in kitchen, intermittently works . Smoke alarms may not be working , multiple hanging off walls . Doesn't appear to be any carbon monoxide alarms . There were no lightbulbs in light in master bathroom. Driveway becomes unusable after its plowed due to ice formation . We had to walk up and down driveway with all our stuff . It was very difficult for my elderly Mom. Would be nice to warn guests of this issue in winter . Would NEVER stay here again !

We needed to arrive early (at 5 AM) because of train arrival and the hosts were very accommodating said it would not be a problem. One persistent problem with the house was the carbon monoxide alarm would go off anytime the oven would be used, and the only solution was to open windows and air the place out. Some windows are marked "do not open" as if to prevent this but it's the only way to get the piercing alarm to stop. This was a disturbance and we actually didn't mind it too much: our problem with the host happened after we returned, the host flipped out about the house and said things like the 5:00 AM arrival required them "bending over backwards," etc. This uninformed, emotional reaction broke our hearts because the early arrival was said not to be a problem, and it was disappointing that the host didn't contact us to discuss concerns before that reaction. It's a nice place but I would not recommend this as a good fit for families.

The wedding was hosted across the street at the golf course and my suggestion to the person who organizes both of these venues. I think you should offer golf cart transportation between the resort and the golf course. That would prevent a lot of people from taking the chance and driving that short distance while intoxicated. I noticed this first hand on several of our party goers. We had a beautiful cabin that was not on the lake, but close enough to appreciate the beauty of the surroundings. I see a lot of reviews had a problem with cleanliness and honestly, we did walk in to a musty smelling cabin and dead, flying things all in the bathroom, but after doing a black light inspection of the mattress, I was reasonably assured that bedbugs would not be an issue. To me that's a big one. I highly recommend this location if you're planning a wedding at the golf course.

The location has potential, but our stay was highly disappointing…read more First and foremost, the checkout policy requires guests to wash all dishes prior to checking out. This is a major sanitation concern. IF the property thoroughly cleans and sanitizes the kitchenware between stays, this chore is an unnecessary burden on paying guests. If they do not reclean them, then the health and safety of incoming guests relies entirely on the honor system and the cleaning habits of previous occupants. It is incredibly unsettling to think the dishes we used may not have been professionally washed or sanitized. The cabin itself clearly got a "landlord special" French doors were stuck and wouldnt open. Had to call maintenance to get them fixed. The refrigerator and cabinet drawers overlap so tightly that opening the fridge makes the drawers to open, and vice versa. The fridge door is already dented, clearly from this problem. The blinds are old, broken, and don't close all the way. So we had to wake up with the sun every morning, spiderwebs in the ceiling corners throughout the cabin. For the price charged to stay here, guests should at least be guaranteed professional cleanliness. Unfortunately, this property missed the mark on all counts.

The staff here is understaffed doing their absolute best that they can with a smile on their face to tend to you. I blame the bad campers that come along trashing the place and treating it like your home. Remember its only your home for a bit but that doesn't mean trash it and go home expecting someone else to clean it, their not your momma! Hats off to the staff here even being overwhelmed and understaffed handled everything well. Hats off to the lady at the bait shop I think her name was Kathy absolute kind hearted person, the girl at the general store that needed to repeat herself to I dont know how many people that the ice cream machine was down and lastly the guy with the microphone at splashzone needing to be stern with groups not listening to his commands of getting off the water for the next group to be able to go. The guy needed to repeatedly asked the same group that times up to now leave and the next group cannot go until they get off, again bad campers not the staff. Do better and leave your high expectations at home and at times help out if you can like pack out what you packed in, leave the place nicer than how you came in. Do your part!

We soon learned Sandra is a woman-of her-word, conscientious, empathetic, and razor sharp in her competence and business acumen. Several times in our twelve-year business relationship, she went far beyond the call of duty to help us with difficult rental management situations or provide canny advice for navigating the intricacies of a home sale. We admired her integrity, her unwavering ethical compass. More, she often ventured beyond the realm of counsel into a supportive physical presence I would expect only from a friend. Her commitment to our well-being was unsurpassed in our business experience. She exceeded our expectations in every way. Jack knew exactly where to go, and we hooked into some beautiful rainbows... 12 strikes and 9 landed, some north of 18 inches. Jack grilled up a hot ribeye steak lunch riverside--seriously next level. It felt more like a gourmet adventure than a fishing trip at times. Spotting wildlife along the river including deer and a bald eagle as we tackled the mild rapids was awesome! I've fished this river from the banks for years, but the float trip really gets you to locations that you can't otherwise access. Once parked at the lake, you can embark on the moderate trail to Heart Lake. Approaching the lake, the trail is to the left of it and climbs along the lake shore with intermittent views. As you take a gradual but steady climb up, you will start to see views open up and eventually see Mt Shasta itself. Most hikers stop at Heart Lake which is a scenic spot with granite on one side and on the outlet side of the lake for Shasta views. If you're wanting a little bit of a longer hike, when facing the lake, make a right and log hop across its outlet and follow a faint but obvious trail to a rocky outcropping. There you will reach an amazing vista of Castle Lake and Mt Shasta. It's a great spot to have your lunch and take some amazing photos. Take care on the way down as there are some steep drop offs and slippery rocks. Most of the trail is exposed, so I'd go earlier in the day in the warm months. Depending on how far you go, it's 3-4 miles out and back. Wonderful way to have amazing mountain scenery in a short hike. Free parking at the lake and pit toilets (not the best, not the worst I've seen.)
