Teardrop she's been one of my all time favorite after church spots. I am sincerely troubled to be writing this right now. Been coming here for years and the service I got from our waitress left a poor taste in my mouth. She kept bringing up that they close at 3, we got there at like 11:45. Very rushing, did not let us look at the menu and rather started telling us what she liked and pressured us to order. I kept seeing her circle the buffet thing near us while she "gave us more time" Before coming back less than 5 minutes later each time. She asked if we wanted a box, we said no. A box was brought anyway and so was the check. It's only 12:40 maybe 1 latest at this point. Once she brought the check (which she never asked if we were done or if we wanted anything else) she never came back to the table unless we waved her over from talking by the kitchen. She also acted like we were putting her out by calling her over, all we wanted was a refill on our soda(which she never offered until we asked) Also, I could hear her loudly exclaiming, that "they are still sitting at it" to the dish person, which would be fine if it wasn't exclaimed so loud it echoed in the store intentionally in our direction. (As we were packing up might I add) very disappointed. I've never had this problem before. There's more things that happened in our visit, but I don't really want to get anyone in trouble. Took the hint after the waitress dropped off our food, with the check. I went to pay it after being stared down by the busser, waitress runs over to the register asks If I'll need a box, said yes. Dropped the box off but took my plate away, that I wasn't done with BUT I was now. Arrived 45 min before closing, didn't intent to stay long, just grab a quick bite and enjoy. We come to Tear Drop pretty often and the food is always delicious. Unfortunately the last time we came for breakfast our service was terrible. We sat for a long time before being greeted, took 30 min to get our drinks, and after we got our food our waitress never came back to check on us. Teardrop impressed the whole family! I went here with my mom and little sister while we waited for my car that was being worked on in town. We aren't from the area so we weren't really sure what was the best place to eat. We drove by tear drop and decided to give it a shot. Honestly, the photos on google don't do this place justice. The interior is much nicer and relaxing than the photos show. The food definitely was amazing as well! Even my mom who said "I don't even like breakfast" enjoyed her meal! I ordered spacial number 2 - 1/2 Order of buscuits and gravy with well done bacon 2 eggs over easy (they forgot to mention on the menu eggs comes with the special) hashbrowns well done dry. And added side of white toast. Water for beverage. They do have pepsi products here. Total bill $11.58 with tax. $8.95 for special $1.95 for toast. The restaurant has a nice homely clean cut feel. Decore is limited but nice. Now the service. I came there were 2 tables plus me. I arrived around 2pm. The booths have cushioned highback seats and the tables w/chairs are of hardbood consistancy. I was greeted right away and sat immediately. I recieved my water strait away. Took about 3 to 4 minutes before my server Missy was seen and greeted me. She is super friendly and was able to take my order strait away. The food took about 10 minutes which was expected since i ordered hasbrowns well. I recieved my biscuits & gravy first the server stated the rest would be out soon takes alittle longer for hashbrowns. About a minutes later i recieved tje rest of my food. I felt there was too much gravy on the biscuits. My eggs were perfect hat and runny in the middle whites fully cooked. Hashbrowns has a great crisp texture just how they should have been. Bacon although well done just a little too well done but not burnt. My toast was lightly toasted on one side and well toasted on the other. I would recommend this over Grandmas which has been here for years and over the one pancake house that uses a shared kitchen with 2-fers Pizza. Prices are reasonable food was great. I will be back. The Food was below standard as it came in different times. No butter for the pancakes had to get up walk to the counter to ask for some. No syrup had to get up and get it. The Eggs went to another table had to wait for another order. It was a Fiasco! The owners son walked by the table 5 or 6 times ignoring the problem. My eggs went from scrambled to Overhard. With Bacon. I ordered 2 over easy with Ham. I never got my order and they were rude because I refused the other food. Save Your Money this Crap Show isn't worth it. read more

Terrible service and below average food. Waited 25 minutes to be seated, no problem, they were busy. Issue was the lady behind the front desk had no clue who was who and patrons were arguing who came first. Finally sat down and had to wait 20 minutes for anyone to even come say hello. Older gentlemen came over and said, "we're busy, you want something while you wait?" We ordered a couple coffees and he brought them promptly. Unfortunately, the coffee had ground in it. Finally 10 minutes later, so 30 in total, our waitress finally arrived. We order and she disappeared. 15 minutes later our food is delivered to the table next to us. We had to flag another waitress down to collect our food. Also, half my order was missing. My wife enjoyed her French toast, but my skirt steak was tough, chewy and full of fat. After we finished our meal, we waited another 15 minutes for our check. My wife had to get up and go up to the counter to ask for the check. The experience took over an hour and a half and we only ate for about 20 minutes. You do the math. read more

I stumbled across this place after checking out a candy store down the street. Lots of seating, it was early Friday afternoon and had people in there. I accidentally found myself on a Tuna Melt Tour of the area in about a 10 day span. Why tuna melts? No clue- I love tuna, and cheese and fries beyond that it is not something I regularly order. My son got the grilled cheese and fries (he was also on a Grilled Cheese Tour as he was on this adventure with me). The fries were good- there was an option of season or unseasoned. I should've gotten the seasoned for myself to check them out but didn't. He ate most of the sandwich- He usually only does one half but started in on the second half. If I'm being honest in addition to enjoying the food his enthusiasm was due to his motivation of the candy in the car from the candy store we just left. He's weird about his grilled cheese. Can't be dry, no fancy hard crusty breads so I call this a win on Kid Yelp. I've dedicated an entire paragraph to a 3 year old and grilled cheese. Out of the 3 locations I had hit up for tuna melts (Larry's Diner, Old Fashioned Pancake House, and here), Larry's was more pickley, OFPH was right in the center, this one veered less pickles more mayo. Which is how I like it. The rye bread was marbled and nicely toasted. The soup, which if I recall was Chicken Florentine (the other choice was Navy Bean and that stuck with me because I began humming "Yankee Bean" from Seinfeld). It appeared to be fresh made- chunks of shredded chicken, the veggies looked like they were hand chopped, it was flavorful. The portion was large- I really enjoyed it. Overall staff was friendly and attentive. Price was similar to the other 2 places. It was spacious and clean. The only thing that left a bad taste for me was there a staff member who kept speaking to me in Spanish- while I understand it, I do not speak it. I kept answering her in English. This doesn't bother me as I'm used to it. But right as we were leaving she asked me if my son spoke or understood Spanish, I said no, and she made a face and asked why. It is none of her business. Full stop. I was caught off guard and mumbled something (I don't even remember) and walked away. It probably would not have even registered for me if she had not made a face and asked why. Our class went here for brunch. We are a life skills program for students with disabilities. We are learning about budgeting and calculating tips and we needed to practice in the community. The staff welcomed our very large group of 18 people. The waitress Angie was very patient with us. She knew the menu well and was able to answer all the students' questions. She allowed us time to read the menu and calculate our totals before ordering. She asked about our time constraints for class and had the food out in a matter of minutes. The students couldn't believe how fast the food arrived. The owners came and checked on us several times. The dining room is nice and spacious, allowing plenty of room for a wheelchair. Here is what the students had to say about the food: Everything was delicious! The hamburgers were huge. The baked potato omelet looked and tasted amazing. The pancakes were large and fluffy. We stopped in for breakfast. This is a newer restaurant with a very large dining room. It is spread out so you are not sitting on top of other customers. We really enjoyed having our own space. There are tables and booths. The service was very friendly and quick. Our waitress was very good with checking on us and keeping our drinks and water filled. I ordered a custom skillet with ham, eggs, cheddar cheese, green pepper and onions eggs over medium with a side of toast. The meal was delicious but it did take a few minutes after my meal came for the cheese to melt. My husband ordered the country fried steak which was good but not homemade the gravy however was homemade and was very good. My husbands meal came with pancakes which were very large and fluffy. They were sweet and very good and will definitely get the pancakes with my meal next time. We will be back. This is a great new addition to Minooka! read more

Came here after a late check out at a nearby hotel. It was close to shutting down. With a large group that included children we were pushing it with good food and service. We almost believed we had barked up the wrong tree when our waitress wasn't exactly thrilled that we had imposed on her quitting time. Needless to say we were willing (yep, all 25 of us) to leave however the manager/owner assured us that they would accommodate our us. I'm glad we decided to stay because the food was delicious! I ordered a Mexican skillet which was seasoned perfectly and the ingredients were fresh! Everyone enjoyed their meal and with the portion sizes we were beyond satisfied!
