The lunch menu offers a variety of dishes . Mine had pork carnitas, a cheese enchilada , rice, beans, pico de gallo and guacamole. The carnitas were good but a little dry. Still had good flavor. Put them in a tortilla ( served steaming hot) with guac and pico, they're delicious. Enchilada gravy was very tasty, not the normal stuff. It was stuffed with American cheese. I prefer cheddar, but this cheese was rich and flavorful, not the cheap stuff made with oil instead of milk. The refried beans had a unique taste, almost like a hint of cinnamon. A delicious Tex Mex location in downtown Madisonville. I had the street tacos and the meat was well seasoned pretty moist. The salsa was flavorful and spicy. The service was friendly. The atmosphere was very inviting the music, the decorations very good restaurant clean interior, clean bathrooms and would recommend and look forward to coming back. The parking can be a little bit tough with it being downtown has very limited spots but worth walking to if needed. Note my rating system: 1 Star: I wouldn't recommend 2 Stars: Didn't hit my standards 3 Stars: Average (nothing special) 4 Stars: Above Average. Would recommend. Living in a this small town it's so hard to find food that isn't Mexican .... Kudos to Lalo's!!! We saw their FB page and they were advertising wings and beer towers!! Sooo we took a chance! First off.... My son is on Keto so chips are out of the question for him. I told him that I had saw where they had pork skins.... So he ordered a batch. They were 4$ but it was enough for him and me to enjoy with the salsa. Let me just say... they are freshly made to order and they had the best flavor ever as they put some kind of magical seasoning in them. They have two wing flavors Buffalo and mango habanero. We ordered the Buffalo. Wings came out hot and were a great size. Sometimes that is hit or miss in places. It also had carrots, celery and ranch all included. I hate that you now have to pay for that at certain wing places! We sat in the bar section where they have TV's so it almost felt like we were at a sports bar. It wasn't real loud in there, as it was just a great vibe. This was a hit for us. Will probably have to go back to watch the superbowl there. read more

No flavor: tasted like cafeteria food at a hospital. Chips, grilled chicken, rice, vegetables had no taste. Salsa tasted like salsa mixed with tomato soup. The skirt steak was the only thing decent. They have to smoother the food with cheese and special sauce (described as "like Alfredo sauce"?!) to cover-up the low quality food. read more

My friends and I had our first visit to LaLo tonight. The 3 stars is largely influenced by the very poor behavior by our waiter. The waiter took one of my friend's orders first. She wanted the Caldo de Res. Instead of taking down her order he asked whether she liked lobster and then turned her attention to another dish. He assured her that he would not steer her wrong because his tip depended on it. After some consideration she landed on the Caldo. He continued to cast doubt on her choice until another friend intervened and said that was what she wanted. He continued taking our orders and when he came to final member in our 4-person party and she wanted the fish tacos. After she gave her order, he responded with, "This is the whitest order I have had all night." We all looked at him in shock. WTF? None of us were white (3 Asian women and 1 black woman). In fact he was white. He then explained that what we ordered was what his parents would have ordered. We told him we were not white and to just go and place our order. We also told him we didn't care about his opinions about what we wanted to order. He came back a few minutes later and apologized and said that he was very tired and running on adrenaline. We gave him a piece of our mind, and told him we did not want him to be our waiter anymore. We spoke to a manager, Wendy, and told her what had happened. She was very apologetic and gracious and her eyes got big at the "whitest order" and "parents" comments. She agreed that what or how wait staff felt about customers' orders was irrelevant. She did her best to make right the rest of our time there including comping an appetizer and taking care of our table herself. I don't know if he was trying to be cute or if he thought that the 3 Asian women would not call him on his bulls@#%. He is lucky if he continues to be employed. Or employed anywhere. I do want to say that the bartender and other servers were lovely. But one bad apple can do a lot of damage. read more

We went for their Sunday Brunch this morning. The price was reasonable at $15.99, and there were a number of selections, but none were outstanding. They had an omelet and pancake bar. I had a ham omelet. I asked her to make VERY soft. She delivered it and the eggs were browned and very hard. The. pancakes, on the other, were undercooked and "doughy". Pretty good tex mex- it's got a fun environment- service was great- we enjoyed the poblano pepper carnitas carnitas- queso is just melted velvita- nothing special- wouldn't recommend because wow it's soooo expensive for just velvita, non homemade queso- margaritas however are very well priced and overall food is good priced too for the quantity. overall, we recommend going to lalos! read more

Found LaLo's while hunting for some dinner while traveling. No idea why it wasn't already on Yelp -- odd, given the size and vibe. Had to add them. Bottom line: fun place, lively atmosphere -- especially for a small town spot. Great meetup location with friends or family. We had a quick dinner -- were en route to somewhere. Great service, food was fine. Chips and salsa game was good -- salsa bowls were too small for our consumption rate, but they kept 'em refreshed. Salsa had a little heat -- always a plus. Didn't have drinks, so can't rate the margs. Worth a stop. read more

We have ordered 6 times in the last few months. We have a big family do someone usually just stops on the way home from work to pick it up. Every single time they forget something we ordered. We have to drive all the way back to the restaurant which is about 15 minutes to get whatever the item is. They never apologize and act like it's no big deal. I am done giving this place any money. It has really went downhill. The overall atmosphere of the place, the quality of the food, the taste, and accuracy are all a disaster anymore. I would not recommend this restaurant. OMG! This is probably one of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever eaten at. We ate there yesterday and brought home left overs for lunch today. I'm STILL craving more! It is a very colorful, fun catchy vibed place. There was a live singer singing country songs and was actually pleasant. We were seated promptly and had great service quickly There is a large menu with plenty to choose from. Hubby had the mole covered chicken enchiladas and said they were wonderful. I had the half fried avocado with cheese and chicken and a chicken enchilda covered in queso. It was so wonderful! Chicken tastes like it was marinated and had a lot of flavor. It came with rice and charro beans. The charro beans were a tad spicy, but the flavor was awesome! We ordered a large take home container just of the beans - best charro beans -hands down- that we've ever had.
