    Carne Asada
    Marc L.

Came here after walking around Lake Siskiyou, and luck would have it they recently closed for the evening. They were kind enough to let us order our food to go. Good props for the helpfulness. The vegetarian burrito was not your typical bean and cheese with lettuce. It had real veggies. The carne asada needed some more seasoning. Same said about the beans. The cheese enchilada was the best my daughter has ever had. All in all a great find for a great day of excursion

I'm sorry I have to be so harsh with this place but me and family had a horrible experience. It started with me and my girlfriend coming into the restaurant to ask the waitresses if they could accommodate a large group as we were celebrating my brothers birthday and it was 10 of us (I know it may seem slightly irresponsible although they all live together and only my girl and I were the outsiders but have tested negative and showed no symptoms of the virus, although after lalo's I can't be to sure) and so they said they could seat all of us and would prepare the tables, they instructed us to go through the side gate, also they were very accommodating and nice, to which I went back to my family and instructed them to do so. As we were coming in the side entrance this older Hispanic man which I now believe to be Lalo or the owner immediately told us to stop and wait outside as he rushed to slam the gate in our faces, all while pushing my niece to the floor and not apologizing for being so rude. I was taken back at his attitude as the waitresses were so welcoming and he started going on about us having to wait outside and he couldn't sit us, then followed by we didn't have to eat there if we didn't want to, implying there are better locations for us to go to, and he would be having a dinner rush shortly. If you can call 3 couples a dinner rush you're pathetic. But the waitresses told him the situation and he walked away all while playing nice with the other guests and not apologizing or being seen any time after we were sat. The waitresses were amazing, sweet, and kind and we only stayed for them truthfully. The food was average, honestly nothing special and slightly unflavored for a $30 steak, with inaccurate descriptions on how the prawns would arrive. (battered and fried, probably to cover the low quality taste). The waitresses went above and beyond with making sure we were doing well without being to pushy, a perfect balance rarely seen. After we left they were very kind and wished us well as we left. Management needs some serious customer relations training and I'm appalled at how someone can run a business like that but makes sense why no one was really there. Hope you have a good time if you come to Shasta, and if you want to be pushed and bullied around while having the door slammed in your face then give this place a try! The man is lucky I was with my family and hope he gets the training he deserves.

    The racist waiter

THE ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY EXISTENCE. As soon as I sat down the waiter acted as if he despised his job and there were a "whites only" sign outside. At the point when I ordered my food, I politely told the server that I would like to have exactly what my mother requested. Very simple. We also were deciding on an appetizer. Then the waiter bursted out and said "will that be all" If I were blind folded and stumbled upon this place I would have thought I was in a McDonald's drive-through the way he rushed me with my order. The food showed up within minutes and I contemplated internally that this must be a joke, my 10 year old niece can prepare a better entree than this. PACKED SHREDDED CHEESE AND CANNED REFRIED BEANS ACCOMPANIED WITH MICROWAVED RICE FROM A BAG. I thought to myself "okay I'll force myself to eat this if I order sautéed veggies" Our server disappeared for 10 minutes after we received our entrees. Which prompted us to grab the attention of another waiter (who was obliging) if we can have veggies with our happy meal--I mean meal. An additional 10 minutes pass by and we were being overlooked by and by. I strolled into the entryway of the lobby and politely requested the sautéed veggies for the disturbing (disgusting) enchilada that was given to me. Our server was so outraged, he said "Nobody calls my food disgusting, you have to get out or I'm CALLING THE POLICE" I was SHOCKED that he deemed it necessary to take it that far! Of course his male ego was so fragile to such an extent that it must of been attached with the eatery. The older gentleman (who appeared to be his dad) encouraged this behavior as if dumb and dumber retired and opened up a restaurant in Mount Shasta. I wish I had read the yelp reviews before I entering this place!! The reviews were atrocious. Eat at this restaurant at your own risk, I have never observed such hostility and down right egregious behavior from a waiter and owner. Disgusting behavior to compliment the disgusting food. Well played.

Go there early and started with cocktails in the adjoining bar that is in a separate area from the dining area (which we were grateful for, as there was a large party loudly celebrating a birthday). Not having a chance to see any dishes coming to other tables (it was actually pretty sparse on diners for a Saturday night), we just ordered what looked good or was unique. Started with the shrimp cocktail - juicy and perfectly spicy sauce. Not unique but a crisp fresh start to our meal. White bean crostini - sounded heavy with the steak topper, but was delectable. The Caesar wedge salad was the pleasant surprise. They GRILLED the romaine. I've never seen this before and it was an excellent way to add extra flavor to the dish. Lastly, the spinach stuffed chicken with mashed potatoes and perfectly crisp veggies. Finish off with a strong coffee and "voila", a nice finish to a very satisfying meal. The staff were attentive and pleasant! Lovely view of part of the course.

Lastly, but possibly most importantly, the food was superb. Huge portions fairly priced with superb ingredients. I ordered the blackened chicken Cobb salad, which Anna warned me was a bit spicy and she was right, but mixed with the delicious dressing, blue cheese crumbles, bacon, egg, and avocado, the spice was perfect. My husband got the California burger and fries . It was flavorful and perfectly prepared. The fries were crispy and flavorful also. Overall, an excellent dinner and I highly recommend a visit here. Next time we will get the pizza. They looked and smelled so scrumptious.

The service is always warm and friendly; the staff remembers regulars and is happy to adjust spice levels or accommodate dietary needs. That said, be prepared for a wait, especially during peak hours or weekends. We settled on the brewery thinking it would have a variety of foods to choose from. It is a very modest place with some outdoor and indoor seating. My daughter ordered the Wagyu burger and I ordered the special (Smokey burger). Our choices of sides were Mesquite BBQ Kettle Chips and German potatoes (chopped up potatoes mixed in Dijon mustard). We thought it was odd that they didn't ask us how we wanted our burgers cooked. It took longer than we expected to get our food considering it wasn't super busy. When the food did come out, we noticed that the burgers were big and looked pretty tasty!! The German potatoes were pretty flavorless and a little more al dente than my daughter liked. She didn't end up eating them at all. The chips were literally just BBQ chips. The burgers were actually really good. The bun was the highlight - crispy and buttery. The meat seemed to be just a cooked standard frozen patty. My daughter ordered avocado and after she had eaten almost half the burger she realized there wasn't any. No one checked on us the whole time. The final bill was $45 and we didn't even order any drinks.

We've been going to railroad park resort since the 1990's and eating there every time we come through town - 2-3 times a year. I recently ordered the steak - $58.00 - making it the most expensive entree in the area (including the high end places in Mccloud, etc) and it had no sear. was under cooked. Had no seasoning. No sauce. The potatoes were rubber and the veggies were gross. The pork chop was similarly under-cooked and had the same sides -so same feedback. The rigatoni pasta dish was absolutely perfect , popping with flavor and as good as any I've ever had. We ordered a couple glasses of pinot noir with our dinner and when they arrived they were noticeably warm like 80-85 degrees like they had been roasting in the sun , not a pleasant room temp like they should be. We also ordered a large caesar salad that we all split and the lettuce was warm like it was sitting in a window soaking up the sun, plate was not chilled and even if it was it couldn't have cooled down hot lettuce, salad was light on dressing , the halved petite romaine was very bitter, i've purchased this lettuce at costco a couple times and stopped buying it because the petit romaine tends to be very bitter, i love the consistency of the smaller denser heads of lettuce but the bitterness is unpleasant .....hopefully the chef is tasting his food and can see what he thinks. My wife ordered the pasta with shrimp and loved it! My dad had the rib eye and said it was pretty good but maybe not 57$ good. The pasta dishes were 10/10 amazing , reasonably priced and generous in size , the warm wine and salad is an easy fix, it was a nice treat after a week of camping and cooking to not have to , so highly recommend giving them a try for dinner during your stay!!
