Two work colleagues and I are in Mount Shasta for an event. We wanted to try a spot that has Mexican food, and Casa Ramos was recommended. First, the service was excellent. We had Amelia and she was very helpful with recommendations for food, and she was willing to split our checks for reimbursement purposes. Don't hesitate to ask for her if you are in town or a local. The ambience was very family oriented, with a lot of photos of family members. Now for the food... we all loved our food so much. I got chicken flautas, one colleague got tortilla soup and the other got a tostada. We all really enjoyed what we got. Everything was fresh and very flavorful. I've been to Casa Ramos in Red bluff and Corning many times. My family was happy to see a Casa Ramos in Mt. Shasta. The service here is way different and definitely lacking. Maybe this restaurant is really understaffed, but there were not that many customers inside. I had to wait about 5 minutes to place my to go order. I was shocked to wait another 30 minutes for my food. Usually in Red bluff, to go orders takes 10 minutes even when they are super busy. I noticed the dining customers were definitely a priority. After all the dining customers got their food, mine was finally made. I ordered a chili verde enchiladas and a kids mac and cheese to go. The food tasted good, similar to the other Casa ramos. Ok wow! This is NOT a 3.5 star restaurant. Shame on anyone who gives less than 5 stars. We experienced nothing but amazingness. The margarita's were on point! I took my second back to the hotel to go. I would drive 4 hours from home just for your margarita's! ‍ The food was amazing! We're regulars at the Redding Ramos. While the Mt. Shasta Ramos shared the same menu, the service sucks. Our waiter and waitress resented our presence from the moment we walked in the door. How did we offend? I really can't say. Our requests were issued with "Please" and "Thank you". They were met with disdain and disinterest. When I politely requested salad dressing for my Caesar our heavily perfumed waitress seemed genuinely annoyed. Perhaps they encountered a large crowd before we arrived? We were part of a relatively small group during the duration of our meal. I don't know what went wrong. As a lifelong people pleaser, I spent the meal suppressing the urge to invite the wait staff to a free Margarita and foot rub to brighten their day. read more

Got them on corn tortillas with a side of beans and Spanish rice. The spicy salsa was epic. Loved it, incredibly spicy and delicious!! The vegan fajitas were just steamed veggies without any spices or flavor. Just bland mess. Skip it unless you want to eat just plain ingredients vs eating a dish. Stayed a night at nearby lodging and needed a place for dinner. Searched most or all restaurants in Mount Shasta for something vegan friendly. I called Casta Ramos and the man that answered said they could serve me a vegan burrito. I've eaten Mexican both as a vegan and as a carnist, for decades, and this was one of the best I've ever had. Certainly the best I've had as a vegan. It had carrots, mushrooms, zucchini along with of course rice and beans. It was light and very flavorful and HUGE, yet when I finished it, I was satisfied and not bloated. The texture of the tortilla was spot-on perfect. I'll start with the great... the waitress was 5 star and service was quick! The outside seating was 5 star, quiet and shaded... comfortable seating outdoors. The bathrooms were clean. My husband and I ordered fajitas for 2 with steak and chicken. Our 3 year old got the kids cheeseburger. She wanted chips and cheese, however the kids nachos are baked so we got the burger. We also got the guacamole appetizer. The guacamole was 4 star, cold enough to have come from fridge but felt same day made. Flavor of guacamole and chips were good. The beef and chicken fajita meat felt like precooked, frozen meat. The onions under the meat were soggy and flavorless. The rice had no seasoning. The kids burger looked like a pre-cooked frozen patty as well and came out piping hot... for kids that's always tricky... The corn tortillas were warm. The pico didn't have much flavor nor did the salsa. The location is great, the wait staff were so nice but the food quality overall was lacking. Just the fajitas for two is $50!
