Awesome Birria tacos! Quick, friendly service. Authentic tasting rice and beans. Tables under shade tent for "dining in".

I've learned to not trust Yelp for business info, but then again, sometimes a business's website is…read morewrong too. We wanted to make reservations for dinner on a Thursday but no one answered the phone. We decided to head over to the restaurant a few minutes before we planned to dine with friends only to discover they weren't open and a hand lettered writing on the door said they were closed Thursdays and Sundays. We did return the next evening, now knowing that they would be open on Friday. The restaurant shares an entryway with a popular bar. It was amusing watching people enter the main door and then turn one way or the other to enter a business, only to realize they want the other door. I saw a few families with little kids start towards the bar and then turn to the restaurant. Groups in motorcycle jackets did the reverse. A signboard at the entrance to the restaurant invites customers to choose a table and then help themselves to chips and salsa. My husband and I split an entrée and it was more then enough for the both of us. Portion sizes are generous. The food was very good. Much better than Casa Ramos or Puerto Vallarta. If you want Mexican food in Mount Shasta, stay away from those chains and go to La Perla for a much better meal at reasonable prices to boot. We enjoyed the background music, with songs from the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Paul Simon, The Proclaimers.

The guac was okay it just tasted like avocado so we put a little bit of salt and lime. The carne asada tacos were cooked perfect! Our server was really nice and sweet. Had a great time!

It is my pleasure to write a review for an extraordinary employee by the name of Kourtney J. I…read moredon't write reviews very often, but while having dinner there recently, I was so impressed with what an attentive and hard working waitress she was, I knew I needed to write one. She was working numerous tables including the bar area, and bussing tables at the same time. She knew quite a few of the local customers and watching her rapport with them was nice to witness. Her kindness towards all of her customers is just something you don't experience anymore. I am not only writing a review here, she was so awesome that I am going to get ahold of the restaurants CEO, to let him know what a scholar he has working at one of his restaurants. Thank you Kourtney for taking care of us during dinner.
