I came in for a fill about a month ago. They were very busy! One woman started the process and told the woman with glasses to finish. (I was told on a previous visit that she doesn't do acrylic nails so I thought this was strange.) I tried to tell the woman with glasses how she was hurting me and going too close to my actual nail. However, she didn't understand English do she just continued. This is the same staff member who did the pedicure too rough and scared my foot! Only after I started crying is when another staff member offered to finish... Why have staff who are not trained in acrylics do the work? It's not safe nor good customer service. The bad: I had an appointment but it really didn't seem to matter, I had to wait about 20 min past my appointment time because there were a lot of walk ins. The ladies are super nice and sweet but the quality is not the best. They don't throughly clean your cuticles, they kind of half way do things, the quick easy way. The color I chose made me look like a dead person so I ended up having to find a nail polish in my home and re do them. read more

Wow, I didn't realize I was one of the first reviews. Two years-ish I am back. The store is no frill. Maybe it's because I came in the morning but I appreciated that it was quiet! No constant chattering, cell phones or blaring TV. I got a normal manicure and pedicure. No gel, acrylic or dip. And no "spa pedicure". So, my review is somewhat limited. I have a love hate relationships with pedicures and manicures - I love how it looks but the skin around my nails constantly gets cut up anytime I go to a salon. The manicure/pedicure Tiffany did was efficient, done with attention to detail and gently done. The gently done is enough for me to come back. Some minor-ish complaints was that I didn't see a top coat on my pedicure. Not sure if the polish type already had it. But when she finished and stepped away I was awkwardly sitting there unsure whether she was done. You can pay and tip with card or cash. read more

The girl who did my nails was named Sarah. She nipped my skin so badly that it bled for 20 minutes. She was rushing, and when I explained to her that she was hurrying, she gave me an attitude. I did not feel welcome. It was my first time in the area, so I wanted to try something new, but she turned out to be my biggest mistake. The equipment wasn't even cleaned and sterilized. I saw someone else's previous dead skin; she just wiped it away with a towel in front of me. On top of that, I noticed that everyone on the wall had a license except her, which made me even more uncomfortable. I will never come back. I wish I could give 0 stars! read more

I love AV Nails! I always ask for Andy and whenever I show him pictures of nail art on Pinterest he has no problem giving me exactly what I ask for. My husband gets his pedicures from Tiffany, Nancy or Kim and they are all great! During busier times, parking in front does get full, but there's meter parking on the side streets or in the lot behind the building if you need it. 5 week update: still sticking to the 4 star review but quality of service depends on who you get. Unfortunately a younger lady scrubbed the heck out of my cuticle until it was bleeding. The rest of my cuticles look great but she was too overzealous. Her gel mani also deteriorated the quickest granted I had longer nails by that time. I went ahead and trimmed my nails to get rid of the cracked polish. Also I wonder if the cnc brand of color simply isn't as resilient as opi (which I had for my first mani and what I trust for traditional manicures). The first older lady did the best job in terms of promptness of service and how long the mani stayed. I felt like the young man did a good job too but he asks you to put your fingers under the lamp for so long my fingers literally had that sore feeling from staying out in the sun too long. read more

It may look low-key but place is awesome. The employees are all kind and polite regardless of the cost of your package. I feel they value their customers. Everyone is professional and very skilled. The quality of the manicure is excellent comparable to more expensive salons. My manicures last forever and they are capable of doing all kinds of fancy designs. They spend lots of time with massaging me and exfoliating my rough spots even when I get just a regular pedicure. I love this place. If your near by give it a try. Can't decide if it's a one star or two star place but the people were nice so I opted for 2. This place came highly recommended but the first thing I noticed is that it's not particularly clean. The floors had dirt crusted into the corners and baseboards near the walls. Perhaps this is due to being on a heavily traveled main thoroughfare. But it wasn't appealing. At my regular salon I see the instruments come out of a sanitized baggie. I never saw where the gal took her instruments from so I can't say if they were cleaned properly. I should have asked. When she filed my nails the file was 'well-used' (read old and over used) so I guess there's no law governing single use files here. I was less than thrilled about that. The manicurist was responsive when I started coughing and offered a bottle of water to me. I was grateful for that. They do have OPI- a good quality polish. Happy for that. It is now 3 days later and the tips of color are chipping off. Not thrilled. read more

I don't know if I just got a not-great technician, or if getting a regular (not gel or dip or acrylic) manicure leads to a different experience, but it's been less than a day and half and several of my nails are chipped and cracked. Two of them snagged on something, which tells me they weren't filed properly. One of them almost immediately flaked off at the top, the others are showing white because the nail polish wasn't drawn all the way to the end of my nails. The manicure was fast and efficient, but not particularly detail-oriented. I had to ask for two of my nails to be re-filed properly. My mom had another lady and also felt it was rushed and not of particularly good quality. Well, there goes $30 out the window. read more

I was a walk in. Didn't have an appointment and I didn't mind waiting for a nail tech. The person who did my manicure was rough and was hurting my feet with the tools and her nails. She applied the nail polish very thick on my big toes. It looked clumpy and not professionally done. When I told her she was hurting me she continued and I had to pull my feet away to get her to stop. I asked for another available mail tech to help me. She was more skilled and finished the job. She was tough when she moved my foot. I decided not to get my nails done or waxing. I was handed a piece of paper with $25 written on it. I paid, let my toenails dry and left the salon. I wanted to love this salon so much. I walked in and waited less than 10 minutes before I was seated. I got a full acrylic set with gel polish, medium length, coffin shape. The man doing my nails didn't get the shape quite right but they looked good enough. A few days later the tip of the nail on my pointer finger on my left hand broke off, two days after that the same fingernail on my right hand broke off as well. I went in to get them fixed and the young lady fixed them for free. Now here we are a week after getting those two nails fixed, both of the nails on my middle fingers have broken in the exact same place as the previous two.
