I was here back in December 2025 for the LowCountry Local First Christmas party. The staff were great! For food I had one of the chicken sliders and a deviled egg with caviar. Both were good. To me it's a very manly sports bar. I saw this because of the decor. The furniture is large especially the big bar stools. I could barely move one, they're so heavy and sturdy. Because of the large furniture the bar area felt small to me. I bet on a football Sunday it's tight when the place is packed. I don't get downtown a lot, but I love this section of upper King St and would definitely return for a drink. read more

I'm not sure how to respond back to your comment but we hadn't even gotten our drinks yet. We were sitting at a table trying to get dinner too and I think it's very odd that you would ask for a card for a tab before we even got anything when we weren't sitting at the bar but at a table and it was like 7 pm.... I know that at bars you need to start a tab after you get your drink but I've never heard of this when you are sitting at a table and ordering food.... Doesn't seem right and I'm just not sure that is true. ‍ you should probably wait until we have eaten and gotten our drinks like every other restaurant does. Just a tip read more

Shame on you Leva and Lamar. My husband and I have lived in Charleston for over 30 years, live downtown and own a business. Lamar's Sporting Club is a place we will never visit again. We went specifically for the Sir Werner's and after sitting for 35 minutes we're told they didn't have any. We gladly ordered sushi but had to ask for chop sticks and soy sauce, really? We visited Bourbon and Bubbles recently and had a great experience with Parker our server, when expressing our disappointment to the manager, she told us not to come back. I work in hospitality and am shocked at the dismissal of our patronage. I recommend restaurants and experiences every day. This will not be one of them. read more

Our server was prompt and attentive and loved the design & seating. The attention to detail failed at the restrooms. We were excited to try the Sir Weiners tower and were disappointed that every hot dog was served cold. The most audacious part of this experience was $78 bottles of Veuve priced at $450. read more

This is a cool place to hang out, watch a game, have a bit of an experience with friends other than a typical sports pub. We came in on a Sunday and did the hot dog tower. It was pretty cool! Hot dogs were interesting. Maybe not worth the $60 we paid for them though. It was a little pricey for the value. Loved the decor, including the bathroom. It was really nice! The service was good, although I must say it was a little awkward as a woman because it felt like the establishment is going for a classy hooters vibe. Only beautiful women working and in tight matching uniform dresses. It felt a little objectifying. read more

We opted to have pre dinner cocktails and snacks at Lamar's instead of Bourbon and Bubbles. We made a great choice. We had a party of 9. Service was perfect. The cocktails and food were delicious. Very cool bar, however it was a lot smaller than what we expected. We went on a Saturday to watch college football and they had multiple games on across 6+ different TVs which was cool. Looking for a sports bar that gives a speak easy feel? Check out Lamar's! This place opened in August and def is a place to pop into if you are walking down King Street. They have TV's so you can catch football or basketball on Sunday's. The drinks are strong and they have a variety of options They do serve food but did not get anything on this visit. read more

Really nice spot and great service! But probably one of if not the worst chicken and waffles I've ever had. The batter tastes like funnel cake batter and the "syrup" is like a thick caramel sauce so just beware if you're gonna order that. We hosted a welcome cocktail party at Lamars in May with 25-ish guests. We had a blast! It is upscale, trendy, with a great vibe. The food was awesome, especially the caviar! Holly Hill was fantastic in helping us plan all the details. She was so easy to work with, helped us craft a great evening, and most importantly executed all flawlessly. Our guests loved being there. There was a fantastic DJ later in the evening and our host Audra was so attentitve - she worked tirelessly to make sure our guests had all they wanted to eat and drink. Lamar's was an unexpected but good stop while waiting for our table at Bourbon n bubbles ! We went for what they're known for the "Espresso Martini" which was delicious and strong. Keep in mind it is $20 for one. My husband and I both got one so $40 for two drinks and they already add gratuity which came out to $58 total! Yikes, definitely a big tip for less than 60 second interaction but at least we got a good drink. read more

This was a strange experience. Encouraged to come into the club after dining at Bourbon and Bubbles. Gorgeous staff, cool space. Waited for night to fall and the DJ to start spinning, then got up to dance. Immediately got served our check... though we thought dancing was what was encouraged (chairs removed... loud, bumping music, etc.) Maybe we read the vibe wrong. Would have stayed but felt kind of shut down. Hope we misread things. Didn't stay to find out. Also. gratuity was added to our check for three drinks. Wasn't prepared for that, so heads up. Overall, cool space, just didn't know what we were getting ourselves into and left disappointed. read more

My husband and I visited on Saturday Jan. 6, 2024. We had reservations at 6 to sit at the bar. The bartended was nice and helpful. I was so happy to see the plaque on the wall in remembrance of the late Attorney David Aylor. The drinks were really good and the atmosphere is gorgeous!! We also enjoyed the oldies tunes. Although, I was tired after the first 30 minutes, My 4 year old nephew had the best time of is life and kept running around and going on every slide for the full 2 hours . You do need to buy their socks and they do not accept identical socks from other similar attractions , but you get to re-use them at least when you visit again. They also do adult parties, which might be a lot of fun for groups looking for some adventure

Chase was the nicest young man who got us checked in effortlessly and was so helpful when I needed to buy my daughter a T-shirt to change into. Our hostesses, Ava and Raven, were nothing short of spectacular. Our entire party was well taken care of and they were SO polite! It's not often I see teens/young adults with the work ethic I witnessed from not only them, but everyone I encountered who works there. I made a point to speak with the manager, Jamie to let her know that she was doing an incredible job with her staff. If you need a child friendly event to host I highly recommend Adrenaline Monkey. We will definitely be back!!

I treated myself to a leisurely walk around Colonial Lake in the Harleston Village the other day…read more It's so pretty, surrounded by historic homes on the Broad, Ashley, Beaufain & Rutledge Streets. The lake itself is tidal & has very well manicured gardens and beautifully paved sidewalks. It's the ideal location for running or walking. They also have well place benches to just soak up the sun or fresh air. The peace & quiet is great. I'm ashamed to say it was my first time really exploring this area of Charleston. I'll definitely return here again. Lovely

Parents and grandparents were included in the fun and laughter. A great time for very young and slightly older children.
