Eddie the Best Bartender in the Smallest Bar
    Cheryl G.

Busiest Smallest Bar in Charleston. Thanks to Scotty, @yelp and one of the finest bartenders in town known as Eddie. Located down a cozy little alley full of great restaurants which is where Eddie ordered us some yummy appetizers. Also right next to the Music Hall known for excellent entertainment. So glad to know of such a quiet little place in downtown Charleston full of exciting things to do.

Eddie is the best!! My second time here and I will still come back. Eddie always take care of his guests Ordered the Hudson Hooch for me and my friend Kim she liked it but needed something stronger. We ordered off the Happy Hour menu but the prices were the same as the menu so no real discount on the food- Management where is the deal. I ordered the mussels(ok needed more flavor) and the Fish Tacos were filled with fresh fish with the slaw and a tasty sauce. My guests had the Buffalo tacos and Kim loved her Manchego Oysters

What a fun place for a drink or to meet with friends after work on a Friday! Charleston's Smallest Bar has so much character and a fun vibe! I was lucky enough to visit during a Yelp event and tried their Hutson Alley Hooch drink, SO good! I snagged a chair at the bar and quickly made friends with the bartender and other patrons. Even though the bar is small, there is plenty of seating outside in the alley. They have Jenga, a small foosball table, cornhole, and good music! We were a larger party so we decided to eat at Coast, next door. I highly recommend this bar for a pre-game if you're going to an event at the Music Hall or looking for a low-key place to hang with friends.

This was an amazing experience! Eddie was so personable and nice. He kept the vibe up all night. The area is adorable. It is nestled in a alley. There are games on the tables outside and the music is popping! I was able to order food from Crust which was great! 10/10 recommend

Charleston's smallest bar with Bartender Eddie was a fun place to visit. Only 4 bar seats and this cozy little place. Outdoor seating area along the alley has different games for you to entertain yourself . Music playing in the ally way makes it a fun place to gather with friends. The bar itself has a small variety of alcohol choices . No tap beer. The Hutson Alley Hooch was delicious. The shrimp cocktail was yummy. They do offer a small appetizer menu as well a as food from Coastal seafood. Order your drink and food at this small bar and it delivered to you a short time. Wonderful atmosphere. Challenge is parking since it is located downtown Charleston. I do recommend you visit this small bar if you are In the Charleston area.

Came here for my 1st Yelp event! It's exactly what it sounds like...a small fun bar! The Hutson Alley Hooch was a delicious and mouthwatering cocktail! There are a few seats at the actual bar and then a few others outside. Bartender is fun to talk with too.

Love this gem! Eddie is friendly and personable. Drinks are yummy and flowing. Love the inside of this smallest bar but that they had additional seats right outside with games makes it so you can stay and relax longer than just a drink. There are snacks or food options for purchase if you're hungry too!

They offer some snacks (appetizers off coast menu) and these were the gluten free options! Also fried shrimp, etc.

Stopped here before our show at Charleston music hall. Coast next door offers a full dining experience but we only had 30 minutes. Grabbed a few canned cocktails and "snacks" which are the appetizers off coast's menu. Crab dip with grilled bread, shrimp ceviche with chips, fries, congrejo ceviche (scallop & crab), and shrimp cocktail. All delicious! All 3 of us were full. Great service, great food, and great vibes.

Stopped here before a night of yelp events. Hospitality was incredible. We got the Hutson Alley Hootch, and it was great! It is not a sweat drink at all. Paired with hush puppies and some Jenga it was a great time! Parking is tough but street parking is free after 6. Perfect place to go before a show at the music hall!

If you blink, you'll miss it. While walking down Hutson Alley, be sure to keep an eye out for Charleston's Smallest Bar. It's located behind Rue de Jean and right before reaching Coast Bar & Grill. 4-5 stools at the bar inside what looks like it was probably a storage room for the other restaurants. The bartender was very welcoming and offers a few selections of canned & bottles drinks, as well as 2 frozen premade drinks. There is also a menu of snacks that would be great while possibly waiting for a table at one of the restaurants it's sandwiched between. There are a few bar top tables along the walkway with tabletop games. I had the mango flavored frozen cocktail, but it tasted more like OJ and needed a way more Mango puree. They carry one of my favorite canned cocktail brands, Cutwater. The selection at the time was low, so hopefully, they'll be restocked with the other flavors listed on their menu the next time I stop by.

It felt cozy without being stuffy and was a great spot for people-watching. The cocktails were well made and balanced, and we got lucky enough to snag a table. The space is pretty small though, so by the time we arrived the bar was full and a lot of people were standing with drinks. Even so, the atmosphere was fun and energetic. Definitely a great spot for a nightcap if you're in the area.

From the moment I walked in, the vibe was intimate, beautiful, and the perfect setting for a relaxed Saturday night cap. What made the experience truly special was the bartender. There's no traditional menu, instead, he takes the time to learn what you like and crafts drinks based on your taste. I've never experienced anything like that before. The level of knowledge and creativity behind the bar was incredible. Every drink he made was stunning and tasted even better than it looked. I was honestly so impressed that I couldn't even remember all the ingredients he mentioned because I was too busy being amazed at how good everything was. It was one of those moments where you realize there are real levels to this craft. I walked in thinking I knew a thing or two about mixing drinks at home, and left with a whole new respect for the art of it. The atmosphere, the personal attention, and the quality of the cocktails made this place feel truly top tier. Huge shoutout to the bartender, easily a 15 out of 10. Cool, knowledgeable, and passionate about what he does. If you're looking for an intimate spot for date night or just want to experience thoughtfully crafted cocktails in a beautiful setting, the Annex is the place. I will absolutely be back as soon as possible.
