"Overflow" to a worse bar next door -- even though seats were open Reserved Bourbon & Bubbles months ahead for a 40th birthday. On arrival, we were brought next door to Lamar Sporting Club (same owner) and told it was "overflow" because Bourbon & Bubbles was "fully booked." The hostess was dismissive - asked what the photos even looked like when we booked. She actually had the audacity to tell us that we should note that we want to be seated in Bourbon and Bubbles in the reservation. Isn't that the ENTIRE POINT OF A RESERVATION? LOL Escalated to a manager and were finally seated in the back bar of the actual Bourbon & Bubbles. The dining room they swore was full had plenty of empty seats. By the way, Lamar Sporting Club is NOT an appropriate substitute at all - just look at the photo. Animals heads on the walls? Random assortment of people who had just popped in for drinks ... seniors having dinner ... not what you expect for a festive champagne hour. Routing reservations there felt like a money grab. Bottom line: a reservation here doesn't actually mean you have a spot at the restaurant you booked. They'll send you to some random place next door and gaslight you for not realizing that's what "reservation" meant.

Cute place in downtown Charleston. We came here for some drinks before dinner. The bartender and staff were all very nice! My sister had the lychee martini and it was super strong but tasty! I had the mango splash drink and added vodka. It was very fresh and flavorful!

Tried Bourbon N' Bubbles for the first time on Mother's Day and overall had a really nice experience. Surprisingly, it was pretty empty when we went, which honestly made for a more relaxed atmosphere. We had already eaten beforehand, so we mostly stopped in to try the caviar service and some drinks. The caviar presentation was really nice and everything tasted fresh and high quality. Definitely expensive, but also definitely very good if you're looking to try something different or a little more upscale. The cocktails were also good and the overall vibe inside is very pretty and classy without feeling overly formal. Even though we didn't do a full meal, I'd still come back to try more from the menu in the future.

Just went here for drinks, but what an awesome cocktail bar and lounge. The bartender amd service was top notch, letting us sample multiple bourbons and wine prior to buying. Had a very nice selection of bourbon and wine, as well as an expansive cocktail list. Spot was very chic and had a Manhattan cocktail vibe.

Stopped in for pre-dinner drinks with my husband during our quick weekend visit for a friend's wedding, and we ended up staying for much longer than planned because of Abbie & Will behind the bar! They were incredibly hospitable and friendly, and Abbie was super helpful in recommending a spritz flavor for me. Peach was absolutely the move and I thoroughly enjoyed every sip of it! As we were sitting at the bar, I took note of the insane wall of bourbons they had behind the bar and my husband inquired about their most expensive one (he was just curious as neither of us are bourbon drinkers). Will was quick to answer and we ended up chatting with him for a while and learning all about his history as a bartender turned bourbon expert. This man had some really cool stories and our convo with him made the experience that much more memorable and enjoyable. The vibes are moody and swanky and the whole aesthetic is just beautiful. I feel like we were lucky to snag a couple spots at the front bar but we were also out a bit early for a Saturday evening. I really wanted to order one of their espresso martinis as well because they looked incredible and seemed super popular (we watched Abbie impressively make 8 at once), so we will have to come back again asap!

We've been trying to make it to Bourbon and Bubbles for some time now. It's really cute inside. Decorated beautifully. It's got a great vibe but the table set up isn't necessarily conducive to sit and eat comfortably. Our server Anissa was very friendly and helpful. The acoustics echo which made conversation quite difficult. Even our server struggled to hear what we were saying. The drinks that we ordered were a great way to start off our experience. We ordered the Wagyu burger, the BLT, Salmon, and the Steak Frites. Everything was very good although we all felt that everything was a little too over the top seasoning/sauce wise. As they say, sometimes less is more. If you're looking for a cool vibe for some apps and drinks, this may be your place.

The inside is nicely decorated with dim, moody lighting. I received great, attentive service at the bar. Everything I ordered was delicious. The mango citrus mocktail was refreshing. The sweet corn risotto was perfectly cooked and creamy. The hazelnut bombolinis were filled with plenty of chocolate hazelnut spread and the cannoli dip was amazing.

The space itself is gorgeous--with the lighting, chic décor, and a stylish vibe that makes it feel like a special night out. The cocktails were excellent: balanced, creative, and beautifully presented. The tuna part of the appetizer was good. Was not a fan of how pickled the veg was underneath. Didn't think they really went together. That said, the experience started off rough. The host staff was dismissive and unwelcoming. Even though more than five tables sat empty the entire time we were there, we were told we couldn't sit at one because we didn't have a reservation. Instead, we were crammed into an already-crowded bar area. One of us had to stand. What saved the night was the bartender. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. Not only did he make some of the great drinks, but he also gave us great recommendations for dessert spots nearby. His hospitality really turned things around and made the experience worthwhile. Overall, the atmosphere, drinks, and food are impressive, but the hosting staff needs to step up to match the rest of the experience.

Was so stoked to try this place but was severely disappointed. The service was terrible from start to finish. The drinks are made with very cheap liquor and have absolutely no balance or care put into them. Waitress couldn't even be bothered to garnish the cocktails -- a small detail, but it shows how little effort was made. The waitress entered our drink order incorrectly and then disappeared instead of trying to fix the mistake. After waiting over 15 minutes, we cancelled the rest of our order. We still paid for the one awful cocktail we received just to leave. Definitely not a place I'd recommend if you're looking for quality drinks or even basic service.

Great happy hour spot. Perfect for meeting on a first date or catching up with friends. Solid bourbon selection, with tasty cocktails and good selection of beer and wine. I went with the spa day and caviar deviled eggs, both were tasty. Service was attentive and informative on menu options.

A fun upscale bar and restaurant off King Street, nearby parking and nice drink options that were enjoyable. The fries by far were the highlight food and would order them again. A fun visit.

I had a pleasant evening here thanks to yelp Charleston! The food served were all yummy and we got to taste all their amazing drinks. I enjoyed my night thanks to the amazing people at Bourbon n' Bubbles! They had plenty of space to accommodate everyone and the bar was gorgeous. I will definitely be back to enjoy some cocktails. Highly recommend this bar for a nice girls night out or just a drink with friends!

I love this place. We have been for late night drinks and now brunch, and I really just love everything about it. The brunch was INSANELY GOOD. I was blown away by the rice bowl - I don't think I've ever had a dish that I could compare this to, and I wish I could get it again at home. My husband's biscuit and gravy (you'll notice it's not *biscuitS*) was amazing. One of the biggest biscuits I've ever seen; he literally couldn't finish the dish. The caviar deviled eggs were *chefs kiss* Drinks are fun and always good -- we've had everything from an espresso martini to an old fashioned, to a Boulevardier to a Moscow Mule. Always good and always tasty. Service overall for me has been a 4/5, but only because we had a newer bartender who was struggling a bit. Otherwise, we've had great service. It's GORGEOUS inside and I always love how trendy and classy it is - a very good vibe and right up my alley.

    Yes

I wanted to booked the thanksgiving experience there is only outside setting available. Wanted to know if that area is heated?

Is happy hour only at the bar? Or can I reserve a table and get the specials?

    At tables and bar

Should I make a reservation if 4 people want to come for drinks around 7:30pm? Or will we be able to just walk in?

7:30 pm is usually when the bar is the busiest. Highly recommend reserving a table for drinks at that time however, barstools at the bar are first-come, first-serve only.

What time is happy hour? What is the happy hour Dom Perignon and Chef's tasting?

Happy Hour is Monday-Friday 4-6 pm. During happy hour, Dom Perignon 2006 is $35 a glass and $160 a bottle.

The dining room is beautiful, and the ambiance is excellent. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality level or price point of the restaurant. When entrées range from $65-$70 for fish, $80+ for steaks, and side dishes approach $14 or more, guests reasonably expect an elevated and attentive dining experience. Throughout the evening, our server seemed rushed and disengaged. Despite our efforts to be friendly and conversational, interactions felt brief and transactional. A drink order was delivered incorrectly, and rather than improving as the meal progressed, the service became increasingly impersonal. We never felt particularly welcomed or valued as guests. A special night out with a $300-$400 check should feel memorable for the right reasons. While the food and atmosphere were good, the overall experience fell short of what we have come to expect from restaurants operating in this category and at this price level. We are glad we gave it a try, but in the future we'll likely choose other Charleston-area restaurants that deliver a more polished and hospitality-focused experience when entertaining family and friends from out of town.

We were greeted right away by a super friendly staff, and our server was incredibly helpful. We started with the fried dough dip plate and then got the chicken bacon ranch sandwich. When we came back, my wife ordered the burger and fries again and it was dynamite all over again. Consistency like that says a lot. We were in Charleston just for a weekend. We were waitlisted for a table at Fig and got a table…read morelast minute. Great atmosphere, and meal and service were excellent. Had the charred eggplant with cottage cheese for an appetizer. Sounded odd to me, but it was amazing!!! The bouillabaisse was the best I have ever had anywhere. My husband had grilled triggerfish, and he said it was wonderful. Would definitely recommend Fig to anyone. We were so lucky to get a table. Tried a few weeks earlier but nothing was available. Go to Fig--you won't be disappointed. Make your reservation as early as 28 days out. You'll be glad you did.

My wife has a fish allergy and they offered to prepare a vegetable plate for her. They prepared three vegetable dishes, which were all excellent. He recommended the boulliabase which was phenomenal. I would highly recommend it to anyone. My wife also had the arugula salad, which was excellent. I started with the chicken liver pate, which is all it is claimed to be. I honestly did not think that the blue crab ravioli was anything special. In fact I could have skipped that dish and had been fine and would've had more room to finish the shrimp in the boulliabase. Desserts were outstanding. Chocolate budin (pudding) was delicious. Rice pudding was also quite nice with the fresh strawberries. The place itself was nice. Dark lighting. They did a great job of staggering seatings so you're not sitting on top of each other. Wonderful meal and night.

We rolled the dice to try R Kitchen, and it ended up being our favorite dinner on our trip to…read moreCharleston. We went to the Rutledge location and the 4 of us sat at a high-top table in the "dining room" -- I put that in quotes, because this experience is not about ambience. It was comfortable and fine, but the focus is on putting food in your belly when you do R Kitchen. We loved every single bite of every single course we ate. We didn't remotely know what to expect food-wise, and we found ourselves practically licking the plates -- while also feeling inspired and nostalgic with the chefs' comments. This is not a pretentious dining experience. It's comfortable, it's fun (we dug the playlist and had our own version of "name that tune" going on) and most importantly it's Delicious. If you're fussy about food, this place is not for you. But if you like more than you hate, you're in for a treat. We got more than our money's worth.

But it wasn't really good, only "meh". Only the two chefs were there to serve as a result water glasses were more empty than full. Any additional condiments or drinks were slow in coming. And of course at the end of the meal the pay device started the tips at like 18% and go to 25%. Ridiculous! That's too bad because the model is very interesting and was a great meal a couple of. Years ago. It will be a while before we try it again.
