What an amazing idea to create this restaurant. What an amazing experience me and my lady friends had celebrating a 22nd birthday. She is soooooooo old now she is struggling to keep her head up with so much trouble in the world and also being a 22 year old beautiful lady. We walked in after a long day of walking on the beach and destroying each other in pickleball (DM me if you want to meet up and play) and were greeted with a bottle of champagne from our lovely friend. God I love bubbly. I think I belong here. We order steak frites, truffle fries, crab fondue, sweet corn risotto, and salmon carpaccio. Housed it. Took it down. "Overflow" to a worse bar next door -- even though seats were open Reserved Bourbon & Bubbles months ahead for a 40th birthday. On arrival, we were brought next door to Lamar Sporting Club (same owner) and told it was "overflow" because Bourbon & Bubbles was "fully booked." The hostess was dismissive - asked what the photos even looked like when we booked. She actually had the audacity to tell us that we should note that we want to be seated in Bourbon and Bubbles in the reservation. Isn't that the ENTIRE POINT OF A RESERVATION? LOL Escalated to a manager and were finally seated in the back bar of the actual Bourbon & Bubbles. The dining room they swore was full had plenty of empty seats. By the way, Lamar Sporting Club is NOT an appropriate substitute at all - just look at the photo. Animals heads on the walls? Random assortment of people who had just popped in for drinks ... seniors having dinner ... not what you expect for a festive champagne hour. Routing reservations there felt like a money grab. Bottom line: a reservation here doesn't actually mean you have a spot at the restaurant you booked. They'll send you to some random place next door and gaslight you for not realizing that's what "reservation" meant. read more

Tried this place on the first night in town. We were sat on the left side of the restaurant and we were the only ones in there. The tables are setup for 3 people but it's tight for 3. Not sure why we were sat by the door when every table was open but oh well. The online menu doesn't match the in restaurant menu which was kind of disappointing. I had the waygu burger with fries which was ok. Another person had the gnocchi which was good. The drinks were fine but nothing here stood out versus other places in the area. read more

Tried Bourbon N' Bubbles for the first time on Mother's Day and overall had a really nice experience. Surprisingly, it was pretty empty when we went, which honestly made for a more relaxed atmosphere. We had already eaten beforehand, so we mostly stopped in to try the caviar service and some drinks. The caviar presentation was really nice and everything tasted fresh and high quality. Definitely expensive, but also definitely very good if you're looking to try something different or a little more upscale. The cocktails were also good and the overall vibe inside is very pretty and classy without feeling overly formal. Stopped in for pre-dinner drinks with my husband during our quick weekend visit for a friend's wedding, and we ended up staying for much longer than planned because of Abbie & Will behind the bar! They were incredibly hospitable and friendly, and Abbie was super helpful in recommending a spritz flavor for me. Peach was absolutely the move and I thoroughly enjoyed every sip of it! As we were sitting at the bar, I took note of the insane wall of bourbons they had behind the bar and my husband inquired about their most expensive one (he was just curious as neither of us are bourbon drinkers). Will was quick to answer and we ended up chatting with him for a while and learning all about his history as a bartender turned bourbon expert. This man had some really cool stories and our convo with him made the experience that much more memorable and enjoyable. The vibes are moody and swanky and the whole aesthetic is just beautiful. I feel like we were lucky to snag a couple spots at the front bar but we were also out a bit early for a Saturday evening. I really wanted to order one of their espresso martinis as well because they looked incredible and seemed super popular (we watched Abbie impressively make 8 at once), so we will have to come back again asap! read more

We've been trying to make it to Bourbon and Bubbles for some time now. It's really cute inside. Decorated beautifully. It's got a great vibe but the table set up isn't necessarily conducive to sit and eat comfortably. Our server Anissa was very friendly and helpful. The acoustics echo which made conversation quite difficult. Even our server struggled to hear what we were saying. The drinks that we ordered were a great way to start off our experience. We ordered the Wagyu burger, the BLT, Salmon, and the Steak Frites. Everything was very good although we all felt that everything was a little too over the top seasoning/sauce wise. Didn't think they really went together. That said, the experience started off rough. The host staff was dismissive and unwelcoming. Even though more than five tables sat empty the entire time we were there, we were told we couldn't sit at one because we didn't have a reservation. Instead, we were crammed into an already-crowded bar area. One of us had to stand. What saved the night was the bartender. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. Not only did he make some of the great drinks, but he also gave us great recommendations for dessert spots nearby. His hospitality really turned things around and made the experience worthwhile. Was so stoked to try this place but was severely disappointed. The service was terrible from start to finish. The drinks are made with very cheap liquor and have absolutely no balance or care put into them. Waitress couldn't even be bothered to garnish the cocktails -- a small detail, but it shows how little effort was made. The waitress entered our drink order incorrectly and then disappeared instead of trying to fix the mistake. After waiting over 15 minutes, we cancelled the rest of our order. We still paid for the one awful cocktail we received just to leave. Definitely not a place I'd recommend if you're looking for quality drinks or even basic service. read more

I love this place. We have been for late night drinks and now brunch, and I really just love everything about it. The brunch was INSANELY GOOD. I was blown away by the rice bowl - I don't think I've ever had a dish that I could compare this to, and I wish I could get it again at home. My husband's biscuit and gravy (you'll notice it's not *biscuitS*) was amazing. One of the biggest biscuits I've ever seen; he literally couldn't finish the dish. The caviar deviled eggs were *chefs kiss* Drinks are fun and always good -- we've had everything from an espresso martini to an old fashioned, to a Boulevardier to a Moscow Mule. Always good and always tasty. Service overall for me has been a 4/5, but only because we had a newer bartender who was struggling a bit. Otherwise, we've had great service. We stopped in for a couple of drinks prior to a dinner reservation up the street. The bar was circular spanning from one room into the other, with two sections in the middle facing each from. As we walked in the main bar was hopping, we asked to be sit at the other bar. It was just us at first, absolutely beautifully decorated with cool stools and lighting. Bar tenders were impeccably dressed and had the pretty boy/girl look. As for the cocktails; lots of fun house drinks, an array of champagne and bubbles, bourbons, whiskeys, and wines. This was a great spot for my birthday dinner! It's very low lit and has a bunch of upbeat music playing. Our waitress was very personable and friendly too. We all ordered different things and everyone loved their dish. I got the Wagyu burger and it was great, but only if you like blue cheese, if not I would order without that. Have driven/walked past this place hundreds of times, finally went inside. It is very prominently on King Street. They have a large drink list and decent although somewhat small dinner menu. The ambience seems upscale, but they do have several TVs and music playing on the rather loud side. It is quite pricey, be aware. In my opinion, they are overcharging but trying to appear "classy". Their Sunday Sauce pasta special was very tasty. Service was fine. read more

As a Bravo fangirl, I was hyped to check out Bourbon N' Bubbles during my stay in Charleston. Sadly, the experience was just overpriced and mildly annoying in that the fire alarm beeped with strobe lights going off the entire time we were there. An announcement would randomly say to evacuate the building too, but being that no one seemed phased by it, we stayed put for our one round of drinks and then bounced. I ordered the espresso martini, and while okay, it was the most expensive one I've had in Charleston and I had better elsewhere in the city. We were seated in the front room also, which I guess would be considered the Bourbon room based on all the brown decor. The room in the back looked much more "bubbly" and bright. I probably wouldn't return on a future trip, but I'm glad I got to see the space in real life as a reference point for the show. read more

Was just here the other evening for my birthday and what started out as a not great experience ended up being wonderful, thanks to our server (I believe his name is Patrick)! I am not one to normally leave reviews but he truly deserves recognition for amazing service. I booked dinner for a Saturday evening at 7:30 about a month in advance for my birthday. As a Bravo fan, I was really looking forward to seeing the restaurant. When we got there, we were seated in Lamar's at a really small table. There were three of us and it felt like a 2-person table with an extra chair pulled up. I was a little upset that we were in Lamar's and not Bourbon n Bubbles, but more so upset at the size of the table since we intended on getting dinner and apps. We asked our server if we could possibly have a bigger table and she told us the host would come move us, but when he came by he said all he could do was sit us at the bar side by side, which did not feel like the appropriate solution since we were just asking for more space. Since I was really looking forward to that meal and had it planned so far in advance, I was of course upset, and the manager ended up finding a table for us at Bourbon n Bubbles (she was also fantastic!) Our server was so wonderful, so friendly and entertaining. He also gave me a glass of champagne for my birthday and he truly turned what started out as a disappointing experience into an amazing one. I hope I have his name right because he really does deserve some recognition. The food and cocktails were amazing, as well! We got the caviar service and i had the lobster roll and it was all super fresh and delicious. Overall, the evening and our server deserve 5-stars! I do think it should be disclosed that you may not be getting a table at Bourbon n Bubbles when you book a reservation though, instead of finding out upon arrival because I am sure most people have the intention of being there like we did! This was my second visit to Bourbon n Bubbles on Upper King Street. First, for a birthday dinner and most recently for Restaurant Week. They offer a limited but delicious selection of appetizers and shared plates. The SC Cornbread with whipped honey butter and pickled jalapenos, is a must-try, as were the Fried Chicken Lollipops with Waffle Bread Pudding. The elegant atmosphere is perfect for special occasions, and the selection of champagne and cocktails is top-notch. However, the service is just average. Overall, it's a great spot for great food in a stylish setting, though there's room for improvement in service. read more

I wanted to like Bourbon N' Bubbles. It was so promising, till we were hoodwinked. The inside is vibrant and gorgeous. The menu is fantastic with lots of yummy options. I'm usually the one who plans my meal around what's available for dessert, but my husband zeroed in immediately on the red velvet cheesecake. He's nuts for red velvet cake, but in cheesecake form? He was giddy! When our server came, he even talked to her at some length about the preparation of the red velvet cheesecake. We told her we planned to order dessert at the end of our meal so we could eat it on hotel's rooftop garden. My entree, truffle lobster ravioli, was delicious, while my husband's was, in his words, "fine." This isn't a reflection of the restaurant, though; my husband had shrimp and grits. It's hard to stand out in a city where every restaurant serves that dish. When we paid, we were unpleasantly surprised to see a $6 credit card surcharge for payment. I'm aware some businesses are doing this. However, I have two thoughts on the practice: 1) I've never had the charge come as a surprise--it's always been posted very visibly in multiple places; 2) passing on the cost of business to your customers is bad form--at least work it into your fees. It's icky. But the real disappointment was that the red velvet cheesecake on the menu was NOT CHEESECAKE. It was mere red velvet cake, and a dry red velvet cake at that. I did give this feedback to the restaurant and have not received a response. The "cheesecake" is still on the menu. I'm curious if we were an off night or if they serve plain cake every night. With all the great diningchoices in Charleston, I recommend making another one. read more

A little expensive but worth it all. Our table was a little crammy in the back by where the servers go in to get food. Other than that this is such a great spot for an app and drink. I really wanted to enjoy this place, but unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. We ordered gnocchi that was so overcooked and soft it was inedible and had to be sent back. Service issues were constant throughout the night. We ordered three appetizers, two of them didn't arrive until after our entrées were served, and one never arrived at all. When we mentioned the missing appetizer to our waiter, he told us he had "just put the order in," despite the fact that we were already eating our meals. In addition, multiple entrées for our table were forgotten entirely. When we brought these concerns to the manager, no solution or effort to make things right was offered. We were also celebrating two separate occasions and informed the restaurant in advance, but there was no acknowledgment at all, which was disappointing. We were a group of 8, and there is an automatic 25% gratuity for parties over 6. Being required to leave such a high tip for extremely poor service and bad food (greasy and mediocre) felt unreasonable and left a very sour impression. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as this could be a much better experience with improved service, communication, and food quality. For now, I would caution others, especially larger groups, to be aware before dining here. read more
