The only ones I have written over the years ( that I recall) are for my computer tech extraordinaire, Martin Wang, of Wang P.C, in Brookline, MA and my guitar tech, Mark Herbert, also of Brookline MA. They are both the absolute best in class. Meanwhile, year after year, Eric Medeiros, who is both an appliance retailer and repairman, has always been there for myself and my family. For 20 years or more, he has professionally and skillfully advised, purchased, maintained and stood by all of them. Hexbailed us out with repairs/ replacements and whatever was needed, at various times( including last minute moments of desperation). Trucking up to the Gay head/Aquinnah area has never been a thrill for many subcontractors/ tradesmen and so forth. But Eric has always come through. Sales wise, when one considers the extra time, trucking/ freight expense and so forth involved in purchasing most any large item, Eric has always managed to offer us very fair and competitive prices on all of our purchases. He is extremely knowledgeable, skilled, experienced. Of note is his unique awareness of the island's unique weather tendencies and which brand/ model/ type of appliance( for various reasons) and thus which particular appliance might do best under said particular circumstances. I felt that it was about time that I got around to acknowledging my appreciation of his skills and efforts on our behalf.     Very positive experience so far with Medeiros. We called them for a "dishwasher will not drain"…read moreproblem. A very knowledgeable woman answered the phone, looked up the appliance (which was in their database) and promised a service visit "by Tuesday" (on a Saturday; not a crime for MV august). Someone actually came that Saturday, diagnosed the problem, and ordered a part. If the replacement goes as smoothly as this first visit I am their customer for life.

    The service team at Crane Appliance have been servicing my home on Martha's Vineyard for 10+…read moreyears. They are great - friendly and responsive! Even during the craziest days of summer, they will try to get a tech here if there is a problem. It helps that the folks on the phone are often named Crane (Thanks Ken and Sandy), but the work ethic and customer centricity flows throughout the organization (thanks Jose!!)

The unit did not work properly and in August, Crane replaced it with another unit - different manufacturer. Over the years we have had problems with the second unit. The freezer drawer was always frosting up and Crane always sent someone out to try to fix it. Early this summer it was worse than ever and I called Crane Service but was told I was no longer under warrantee. I assumed that since we did not get the replacement refrigerator until August that our warrantee ran to August. The reservice representative and her supervisor both said that was not the case. After posting a review explaining what had happened, Brenden called me and said we were still under warrantee and the service person would come out. They came out twice and ended up replacing the cooling component for the freezer. Two weeks later, I opened the freezer in the morning and everything was defrosted. I called Crane service and texted Brendan. After two hours I called Brendan and explained the freezer was not working again. We went to the Vineyard Haven shop to see if they had anything in stock that would fit in our space (our house is 160 years old). They did and it was delivered this afternoon and all we had to pay for was a new 5 year warrantee. This is a great example of REAL customer service from a family-owned company that cares about its customers and reputation. Thank you, Brendan, and don't take this the wrong way, but I hope I do not have to call you again!

    We'd previously purchased from Yale Appliance (in Framingham) and had a good experience so when our…read morefridge died and we needed a new one ASAP in the hot weather, I knew exactly where we were going. And they sure came through! We found a couple of fridges available through the outlet for a few hundred dollars off due to minor cosmetic damage. I called on a Friday morning and Jason went and double checked that the fridges were there and re-described the "issues" with each. Within half an hour we had our fridge ordered and paid for. Delivery for new orders was pushed out nearly a week when I called, due to the volume of sales from the tax-free holiday. I understood the situation and was ready to live with no fridge for several more days. But here's when they went the extra mile - I had mentioned offhand that our fridge was out of commission during our conversation and without my asking for him to do so, Jason said, "since I know you have no fridge, let me talk to the delivery team and see if I can get next-day delivery for you." And HE DID! Delivery went very smoothly. I was texted with a link so that I could track the progress of the truck to my house online. Gerber and his crew showed up bright and early Saturday morning with my lovely new fridge. They were efficient and friendly and explained everything. When I couldn't get my sliding door to lock properly after they'd gone back to the truck, I thought that maybe they hadn't reassembled something right (they'd had to take the handle off the door to fit the fridge through) and went running down the driveway. Gerber came back up to the house and even though as soon as he looked at it, he saw that what was malfunctioning wasn't a part of the door they had disassembled, he still took a few minutes to help figure out what was wrong. And the "cosmetic damage" that got us about a 30% discount on the fridge? One tiiiiiny little ding in one of the doors that is barely visible. All in all, a very stressful experience ended on a high note thanks to a company that clearly understands what it means to provide exceptional customer service and hires folks who are proactive, friendly, and helpful.
