Lamber Home Inspections was recommended to us by a friend. Megan and I made the phone call and Shante picked up. Shante went over all the details and the costs. By the end of the phone call we had scheduled our inspection and radon test. As I was hanging up the phone we received a confirmation email about our inspection. We received an email the day before and day of our home inspection to remind us. The home inspection was scheduled for 4:00pm. We arrived around 3:45 and Randy was already inspecting the outside of the house with Juan. I followed both Juan and Randy around like a baby duckling. Randy and his team did an amazing job with my home inspection! I had been told by others that home inspectors were a rip-off. They just come in and do a cursory look at the house and give a thumbs-up or down based on the little time they spend. This couldn't be further from the truth with Lambert! Randy (the owner) did the home inspection himself with the help of one of his employees. He flew a drone over the roof to take detailed pictures of its condition, and went through every system inside with a fine-toothed comb. When he was finished, he gave me a very detailed list of all the things he checked along with pictures of each item he noted. Randy is the best home inspector in the DMV area. I have had a home inspection on a few occasions, most inspectors do a good job from informing you of what is wrong with your home and what things to look out for but Randy takes it to a whole different level. Not only does he tell you what is wrong he will show you what is wrong and explain everything in plain English. However if you are forgetful like me, don't worry everything that he brings up in your home inspection will be included with the reports that he sends. Randy and Juan came out to inspect our soon to be home. Juan thoroughly checked the crawl space while Randy used a drone to meticulously check the roof, gutters, and chimney. He was able to take photos so that we could see the up close issues in real time. He also took the time to explain each issue step by step. Both Juan and Randy were very professional and spoke to us so that we'd understand their findings. Randy also explained the HVAC system in a way that helped us determine an issue at our other home. Very kind, knowledgeable, thorough and professional! We arrived on time and randy was already there and had already completed the inspection of the exterior. They then moved to the interior where they checked everything, even down to the minor details. During the inspection if there was an issue or a problem he would explain what the issue was and what was causing it. At the end of the inspection we sat down where he explained everything they had found and showed pictures of what needed fixing. I received a full report by the end of the day via email that showed everything they did and also had suggestions of how to fix them. Like many other reviewers, this was my first home inspection experience. While I don't have a point of reference, I can assert that Randy and John were prompt, efficient, and courteous. The inspection took 1-1.5 hrs.
