I had some minor paint work that needed to be done on the passenger door and long scratch down to the metal with a dent on the driver front fender of my 2017 Mazda 6. I got several estimates, and even though LaMettry's was not the cheapest it seemed the most professional and was close to the cheapest--which was important since I was not going through insurance. The estimate process itself was very quick, professional and clear. I brought the car in on a Wednesday and got it back the next Tuesday and the work was beautifully done. My car is a red tri-color that the other places I got estimates from said was very difficult to paint evenly. They nailed it--and the final bill was right inline with the estimate. I went in for a quote and Greg W assisted me. He was kind, courteous and professional. He took his time looking at the obvious damage and finding little dings in other parts of the vehicle. He explained to me what would need to be done to do the repair and how long they were booked out. I was blown away by his going above and beyond when he noticed there was ice on my windshield wipers. He told me that he would use some hot water to get the ice off. He then proceeded to get all of the ice off the wipers and both rear view mirrors. What an awesome guy especially since I hadn't actually given them any business. I told him I was getting a few quotes and would get back to him. He emailed me my estimate promptly and I only had to wait 5 minutes past my appointment time to get started. Great customer service. read more

Tried to do an online estimate but was told to come in to get a precise estimate. Made an appointment, my wife arrived on time and was ignored for 35 minutes while the staff had a meeting and then other customers were helped. Owner was parked in front of the estimation bay. Really gave the impression of a dysfunctional family owned business. There are lots of other collision repair shops, I plan to use one of them. read more

Very poor communication from drop off to pick up. Inquired multiple times on an update status. Left multiple phone numbers to be reached at with ladies at front desk. Over the two weeks my car was being serviced, I did not hear from them once. The last time I called, I was told that my car had been done. When I picked up my car they told me they must of had the wrong number, however on the printed invoice it was stated correctly. Hmmm? If you value honestly and customer service, would look at taking your car elsewhere. Can't speak yet on the quality of work, however would note poor customer service and communication throughout my service. read more

Before the sun rose on National Ice Cream Day (July 20th), some jerk-face drove around Minneapolis and used hefty soccer ball-sized rocks to smash the front windshields of black Honda Civics. Mine was not spared... Not only did the glass look like a drunk frat boy had cannonballed into it, but also (I believe) the weapon of mass destruction (rock) rolled off the window and scratched and dented the hood on its way down to the ground. Needless to say, the damage on my car left it inoperable, and if I ever find who did this, that person will receive a Timberland roundhouse kick or Rising Dragon Uppercut (http://bit.ly/1rQJCSl) to the face by yours truly. Several hours later, I called the Minneapolis Police (who did nothing) and my insurance agent. My insurance agent and I met up a couple days later, and one of the first questions she asked was, "Have you ever gotten body work on your car? If so, where?" The first business that populated in my mind was LaMettry's, since I used them about a year ago when some crappy person scratched my car backing out in my apartment's parking lot. #donthavethebestluck4real Within a couple hours, my Civic was toed to LaMettry's Richfield-Bloomington location. My ride sat in the shop for eight days, and during that time, several communication breakdowns occurred: -One day, I had two different people call me within a four-hour period telling me the same news. -When I called each day and asked when my car would be finished, a representative would tell me a different date and time. -There was never a mention of the deductible that I had to pay. -One time, I was transferred to five different people to answer one question. The person that ended up answering my question happened to be the first person that transferred me. #ridiculous Not to mention, when I arrived in the lobby and approached the receptionists, today, one of them made eye contact with me, then quickly looked away and decided to call someone on the phone to discuss a personal issue. Rude. Thankfully, the other receptionist was kind enough to help me. So you're probably thinking, how is this a four-star review? After the receptionist fetched another staff member, he showed me out to my car. And when I saw my car, it seemed like all of the minor annoyances fled my mind. The work on my ride was Heath-Ledger's-acting-in-The-Dark-Knight immaculate: -My spanking new window didn't have a speck of dust on it and beautifully glimmered in the sun. I wanted to hug it so bad! But, it's too wide and that's just weird. -Regarding the bodywork, the staff removed ALL of the dents and scratches from my hood. -The new paint blended very well into the rest of my car. -I also learned that all damage exceeding $5000 (ouch) receive a complimentary shampooing. I appreciated that. *** Despite the frustrating communication breakdown and rude receptionist, I still trust LaMettry's. It's kind of like focusing on the irritating characteristics of your girlfriend, but forgetting that she makes a mean fried rice and watches football with you. I hope that 1) there isn't a next time and 2) if there is, they can improve their communication by being more transparent about the status of my car. All in all, I recommend that you get any auto glass or body work done at LaMettry's. read more

Had my vehicle in for rear driver side bumper repair. They fixed the damage, however left multiple defects in the paint. I returned the vehicle for warranty repair of the defects. I had appointment for 2pm Tuesday, they didn't pull my bumper off until Thursday. They caused MORE damage and refuse to replace the damaged part, even though i have photo evidence there was no damage. They have zero customer service, no quality assurance and don't care if they damage property. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE or you will be sorry! read more

First off, I have to say they did a good job on the repairs. I cannot take that away from them. To my untrained eyes, this looks like a factory new rear bumper! But that is not why I'm writing this review. This is the second occasion I've used LaMettry's at this location. This is the second time the repair has taken longer (much, much longer) than anticipated. My Ford Edge was rear ended (while I was stopped). Not enough to set air bags off, but enough to leave a mark. I brought it to LeMettry's for a look see. They said it looked like a 3 day job and they could get me in about 2 weeks from that point...they did warn that they really wouldn't know until they "got in there". After two weeks I got the car in there. 3 days later, I got a message that it would take a few more days. I inquired why and got the response via text "there was additional damage when we got it disassembled, but to be honest even with that we're just behind on it." This complicated our vacation plans which meant finding other ways to get where we were going. 3 days later (week 1 has gone by), got another message it was nearing completion (while I was on vacation). Then...a day later, another delay was texted to me. They apologized and offered to have my car waiting in my driveway when I returned (after week 2 had passed). Great! That is more than acceptable! However this did not happen. Got another message delaying it a few days...then another...then another. Today, after 3 weeks it was finally finished. Yes, they did get me a loner to drive in the week after we returned from vacation. But you may know that changing car seats for kids 4 times is not fun (from car 1 to rental 1 to rental 2 on vaca to rental 3 upon return to original vehicle). The manager did call me (after I requested he do so) and admit that they had not kept me in the loop properly for the delay. He explained why the delays happened, and it made sense, but it wasn't communicated well during the 3 weeks it took. Remember...they estimated 3 days (then 5...then 7...then 14...then, then, then) and I had to wait 2 weeks for this opportunity to get into the shop. I stayed as positive and patient as I could when talking with them (I did express my disappointment via vm at one point). At some point I would expect someone to say "how can we make this better". To which I had a response ready. They didn't offer this, so now I express my disappointment this way. For this reason, I suggest you look elsewhere for such service. Perhaps after their business drops off some...they will adhere to their word, offer proper consideration and have more time for their clients. read more

LaMettry's Richfield - I had a small paint job for them respraying my bumper that was chipped and sandblasted from the area road construction debris. I was told this would take 1 day or possible 2. After 2 days, I hadn't heard anything from them and so I called. The front desk staff Shiela was very rude on the phone: She started to talk to someone else in the office while I was on the line. Then she put me on hold. When she returned to the call she told me the car had just been painted that afternoon. As soon as I started to speak, she talked over me very loud and would not let me talk. I wanted to ask when the car would be done since it was talking a bit longer. Shiela hung up ... Then the manager Mike got on the line. I explained what happened. I said: "I think it's reasonable to ask a simple question about how long the car will be needed without being interrupted." He agreed. I picked up the car the next day. Shiela apologized, but then made a bunch of excuses stating: "I didn't hang up on you." Very odd, unhelpful and rude. The new paint was average, with a bunch of areas that are not smooth and show paint globs or cracks. Not impressed by the staff or the work. Horrible customer service. Went to the Richfield location for an estimate and was told they would email me the estimate that afternoon. Received the estimate and was told if I wanted to go ahead with the work to let him know and he would get the part ordered. That's when things went bad. Replied right away that I wanted to go ahead with the work and then never could get a response from him again. Sent several emails with little or no response. If there was a response it was maybe one word if he even decided to reply at all. Took my business elsewhere! Was a repeat customer but not any longer. I have about a 6 inch small crease on my door that I wanted to get an estimate for. Went there because they said they do paintless dent repair. I wanted to see if the cost to have the dent repaired was less than my $500 deductible. First thing I was asked when I went through the door was who is your insurance company? Then an associate came out and looked at the door. First he said he could probably fix it at about 80 perfect. I was ok with that. I said give me the price. Then he took a picture of the dent and brought it inside and apparently showed someone the dent. Came back out and said he was told that the dent couldn't be fixed by paintless dent repair and it would cost $1,200.00. Uh huh, sounds like an insurance gouge to me. read more

I had several large scratches on my car from a parking garage pole. The Audi dealership recommended LaMettry's so I stopped by for a quote. I told them that the car had a lot of milage so I wasn't going to invest too much money into the repair, but that I still wanted to try to cover the spot since it was on my front bumper. Mike understood and said he'd first try to buff out what he could. 15 minutes later and you could barely tell and when I asked the price he said free of charge because he had already had the buffer out. I would definitely recommend this location because based on my experience they are very honest, kind, and know what they are doing. read more

They have had our car for almost a month. The owner had to go to the maplewood location to make sure it got done that week and we are still waiting till monday. The lack of customer service, car service, and general accountability is crazy here. Other people's insurance companies reimbursing people for using them. The bodywork was okay, but they keep sending me text messages and the work was done weeks ago. Surveys and feedback requests. All I wanted was some bodywork done, not to be pestered constantly through my phone. If you use them, do not give them any more contact information than the bare minimum or they'll annoy you too. They also finished a day layer than promised and the final bill was $800 above the estimate. I recommend you avoid these people. Thank goodness my deductible is low. read more

When ins co.requested info for the estimate he got right on it Unlike Sears automotive who acted like they were doing me a favor by giving me an estimate. Small scratch on new bmw but it required a lot of work to have a flawless outcome. They were able to do the job for $200 less than their estimate! Very friendly and helpful office staff. I had scheduled a rental car that was to be delivered at 9am...but at 9:30am there was no rental insight (the rental company was overbooked, and was way behind.) I needed to get to work, and I asked if the repair could be done while I waited. Robin and Becca worked to make it happen, and in 1-1/2 hours I was out the door with my wheel repaired! Even though the rental car company was not LaMettry's fault, Robin and Becca took ownership and treated me with urgency and care (even let me borrow a desk to work while I waited). Thank you!! I had minor damage after a parking lot incident with my Honda CRV. I brought it in to Lamettry's thinking "Maybe I don't need to file a claim or get this completely repaired". James the site manager, spent quite a lot of time taking a look at it. He explained to me exactly what was going on. He told me what could be repaired and what didn't necessarily need to be repaired if I wanted to save some money. He also gave me some great advice for working with my insurance company. The net result is that I didn't get my minor damage repaired. But as a result of my interaction with James, I really trust these people and would go back to them in a heartbeat if I really did need work. I know other people have had work done there and were happy they did. I understand now why they would be completely satisfied. They completed the vehicle and their was a minor problem with the paint which they fixed with no extra charge to me. Because of this change I arrived early to pick up my vehicle. My parents have gone there for years, but the last time they brought their Camery there for a auto body work, many things went wrong. They some how fried the battery that was two weeks old, the body side molding fell off, there were places they missed paint, they got grease on the inside of the car, the back window no longer works and the door locks work when they want to. It also took them a week longer then what they said.and after all of that they refused to fix any of it. read more

I have been there twice. Both times, the managers treated me like a VIP customer. I used their glass service once and I will always use their glass service. By far the best windshield replacement service I've had. They even noticed I had a tail light bulb out and replaced it for me since they had it in stock. I drove into have an estimate done for a minor damage of paint transfered on to my vehicle from getting too close to my garage door frame. They cleaned my vehicle, took the paint off, wet sanded it, and buffed it out in 30 minutes while I waited in their comfy lounge. Fantasitc service and again treated like a VIP. Will always be my first stop when needing repairs. Also, if you do repair there you will get a survey in the mail later. I filled it out and later received a Thank You for completing the survey hand signed by the manager that helped me along with a gift card to Starbucks. Classy. read more
