Where do I start? Toyota recommended their collision center. Another repair shop did work on the car and missed the black moldings. So i didn't want to go there anymore.. toyota said, "lemetrys is very good." I called and was told appointments were a month out and waited for an appointment. September 2023. My family went to an appointment and got the estimate, and Matt sent an estimate off to the insurance. My insurance didn't answer, so I pushed my insurance, and they responded to Matt approving it. I heard nothing from Matt. I called to follow up. The lady told me that Matt would get back to me. Nothing. Then, I waited a month ...forgot about it... called back, trying to see what the heck.. 2 months later. No answer, no response from Matt. I was told that they would call... Waited again.. I had to chase the guy down and told the girl that answered the phone that it was ridiculous. Matt finally called me back and had mentioned via telephone that he'll go ahead with it and emailed me, out of no where he told me in email that he talked to the manager (attached) and basiclly not worth the fix. I was so upset that I called to speak to Matts manager. The manager stated that Matt probably thought it'll be better to put money in my pockets.I dont want the money. That's why it's a claim. He also mentioned that Matt's done it before upsetting customers. By not understanding, I'm assuming? I said if my repairs are not meeting dollar amount in minmum, they should have told me months ago and not say yes then say no to me 3 months later. He told me that it wasn't because the repair was "too little." He said they would fix it and order the part, and he would personally call me when part gets in. read more

We had a broken tail light from a backing up accident less than 1 mph. We preordered the tail light 30 days before bringing the car in to be repaired. So far it has been in the shop for a week to receive a "blueprint" for repair. We were told it will be likely another week to wait for additional insurance ok for additional cost. Also told painting is backed up and that may add time. So far we are over $2,000. I will update on how long this takes. Reminder this is a broken tail light at under 1 mph. read more

I've had my car repaired at Lamettry's twice after two collision accidents. The first repair was well done and the paint match was spectacular considering I have a white tri-coat paint on my car that can be really difficult to match. My only complaint was that they wiped off the anti-glare coating on my infotainment screen while cleaning the inside. When I picked up my car, there were smudges all over the screen that were impossible to remove so I took it back for them to get the rest of it off. Surely they knew they had wiped the coating off but failed to say anything about it... however, it wasn't a huge deal so I let it slide. The second repair was also great, with a few (concerning) exceptions: 1) When I picked up the car, the metal door hinge/clasp was loose. I took it back and they fixed it quickly. 2) A piece of the door handle was also loose. Quick fix but it had me wondering if they do any sort of quality check afterwards. What would have happened if I didn't notice any of these things? Further damage down the road or safety hazard? 3) When I picked up my car, two employees had connected their iPhone to my car. They also changed all of my sound settings and maxed out the bass. To some, this might not be a big deal but to me it's annoying and it seems unprofessional for employees to connect their personal phones to a customer's car. What if they had damaged my speakers from maxing out the bass? As far as price goes, they do seem to be a little expensive, but if you're going through insurance then it shouldn't be a problem. I was quoted $1300 for a separate repair and I'm glad I didn't go through with it because the dealership down the road charged me $500 for the exact same repair. That's an $800 difference! And it was just replacing two plastic parts underneath the car, Overall, I'd recommend this place for repairs even though the customer service isn't the best. My repairs have held up well so far and I've had other car techs compliment their work. You can't even tell the car had repairs! However, the fact that there were loose parts has me feeling a little weary. read more

Someone had bumped my car causing the front bumper to dislodge. Also, a panel on the hood had jared loose over time and had broken off. The car is 17 years old but in good operating conditio. I am seasonal and only use the car for 5 months each year. I went to the dealer and they recommended LaMettry's. I went for an estimate to the Inver Grove Heights facility. Suzanne reviewed the car and we discussed my low usage of the car. She then went to prepare an estimate-or so I thought. After about a half hour, I began to get nervous that this estimate was going to be more than I could handle. Suzanne then came out and explained how she and Billy had repaired the two issues. They had glued the front panel on the hood and reattached the bumper as best as possible with the broken attachment that holds the bumper. To my total surprise and delight they said no charge! This business is an absolute joke. My first encounter was when I had them replace my windshield on my tundra at the Toyota dealer next-door to their body shop. After installing the windshield, they left the factory dash cam dangling, and said it wasn't their responsibility to install it back on to the windshield. After a couple conversations, they finally agreed to fix it. The next encounter is when I had them give me an estimate to replace the grill on my tundra, and a couple other plastic pieces. They told me it would be three months before they could get me In. So I scheduled the appointment and double checked two weeks before to confirm I still had an appointment, which I did. I dropped the truck off the morning of the scheduled appointment before they opened. They called me two hours later and informed me that they had no parts to repair my truck. They thought I was ordering the parts myself, what a joke. At this point I was dealing with a guy name Sean, who said the original estimate was wrong and parts were missed. At this point, he said he would order the parts and get me in right away when the parts arrived. This was in May it's now November and Sean has never called me back to repair my vehicle. I would run from this dealership before I had them work on my vehicle. So much for their Hooten Tooten commercials I see every morning while I watch the news. read more

My brand new Tesla had a hair in the clear coat and the dealer told me to bring it to LaMettry's for evaluation. Brian, at the Inver Grove location, got me right in and brought his best guy over to see if he could wet sand the imperfection out. After 10 minutes my car was ready to and the hair issue was resolved. I asked how much and Brian "don't worry about it" and I responded Telsa is the one paying. Brian said "Tesla is a good customer and this wasn't that big of a deal. I can honestly say the service they provided me was five stars and if I ever need work done in the future, I'll bring my car to LaMettry's Inver Grove Heights. read more

I could not be more pleased. I never post reviews, but LaMettry's deserves this exception to that rule. After an accident, I had LaMettry's do some significant repair work on the passenger side. Looked great. Fast forward a while and I noticed a lot of discoloration around the back wheel well. I take it in for opinion, hoping it was just discoloration of a coating, but fearing it was rust. Aaron, the manager, looks at it for about 10 seconds. He tells me the bad news: it's rust. Then he tells me the good news: it may have been because of something done wrong during the repairs and LaMettry's will fix it for free. May have. He couldn't say for sure. But because it might have been LaMettry's fault, that was good enough for Aaron to take full responsibility. Mind you, this is a job that would cost, if I had to pay for it, thousands of dollars. The kicker? It was 5 years later. Yes, when I said "a while" I meant 5 years after the original work. Of course, there could have been any number of post-repair causes. It would have been the easiest thing for him to come up with reasons why it might not have been LaMettry's fault at all and send me on my way. Not a word on that front, though We never discussed how long or even whether I had a warranty on the work. I seriously doubt any warranty was still in effect by then. It didn't matter. Aaron was going to stand behind the work his company had done. Moreover, he was willing to get me in right away for the re-painting--body shops are so busy these days you often need an appointment just to get an estimate--and, once in, he regularly kept me apprised of the status of the work. I mean, this is the kind of service you can only dream of getting. As I said, I could not be more pleased. read more

I brought my car to the Ford dealership across the street to have some warrently work done as well as some other things that Wasn't covered under the warrenty. After my assessment was done via the inspectors, I was informed that the body work would need to be done elsewhere as Ford didn't do that kind of work. They suggested that I work with lemetrys being that they're across the street and they work with them before & had no problems. I agreed! Ford began repairing my vehicle until lemetry was able to fit me into their schedule (2 weeks later) & then after lemtrys had finished with my car then it went back to the Ford dealership to have the rest of the work done . Upon completion of all the repairs, We began the process of making payments my $500 deductible plus the remaining balance that my insurance agent had sent to me. For the sake of telling my story we're going to say that the total was $3000 + $500 deductible. I paid $500 to LaMettry for the deductible, then $2000 to ford, leaving me with $1000 for lemetry. However, lemetry wanted $2000. I tried to explain that the total didn't add up and that I wanted them to figure out what was wrong & get back to me. 30 days later I got a call from my insurance agent saying that they were giving me a courtesy call because lemetrys was threatening to put me in collections for non payment. Um....you never called me back! So again, I called & explained that the math wasn't correct, figure it out and let me know what my total was. Until then, I wouldn't be making a payment. They also said that I had not paid my Deductible. After a few hours of research I found out that my card was never charged by lemetrys so in fact I had not paid my deductible. Now remember that I did call in and gave my payment to the receptionist, she just never rang me up. This was a mistake on their end not mine. I knew that the deductible was something that I would have to pay so I was happy to pay it again allowing it to be an honest mistake on their behalf. However it did not help them look any better in my eyes and I was starting to get irritated. I DO NOT like to be threatened especially when they never called me back and I NEVER received any paper reminders. nOTHING! I was also not very impressed with the guy who was handling my account. We talked several times about my car & how Ford was having certain things taken care of at their shop & that the bumper was going to be done at Lemetrys. One day I had called in to speak with him to discuss how long it was going to take. We had a good 30 minute conversation & I had asked him why it was going to be taking so long due to the fact that I had made an appointment 2 weeks prior to get in & I thought that that was ample amount of time to order my bumper to have replaced. Again we already had an inspector come in & write up the costs of the repairs. They had all the information they needed. Yada yada they said they don't order parts until they had the car because you never know what you're going to find until you take a part the car & also they didn't know what I was actually going to bring in the car. Stupid, but fine. That exact same day, no more then 3 hours later, the same guy called & we had the SAME conversation. He had not idea that we already talked. He's a fucking robot! So after this + the receptionist misplacing my cc info & the total not coming up accurately, I sure as shit wasn't going to pay them a damn thing. I left 2 messages for his manager & got no response. Finally I had to call Ford and have the guys over there call them & figure it out. Turns out Ford had replaced the sensor module on my car & then when lemetrys got a hold of my car they also replaced the sensor module on my car. They were trying to get paid for something that Ford was supposed to do & did do. Apparently the robot that I was speaking with wasn't listening to anything I said to him. I drove to lemetrys to talk to themanager since he couldn't be bothered to call me back. When I went in instead of saying sorry for their mistakes, he just bitched about how they lost money. read more

I can't speak highly enough of my experience with LaMettry in Inver Grove Heights. I had cracked the underside and corner strip of my car after hitting an icy snowbank. I had an estimate from another dealer for hundreds of dollars. I thought I would get a second opinion, so drove into LaMettry hoping to set up a time to have it looked at. Someone from the shop said he could look at it right away without me having to come back. I showed him the damage and he said he would take it out back into the shop to see what he could do. He came back out 20 minutes later and said he secured the pieces back into place. I looked at it and it looked brand new, like nothing ever happened! I was amazed that it was fixed perfectly! And then when I asked how much I owed, he said with a smile that there was no charge and that he was happy to do it! No charge!! ( I still can't believe it!) David and Matt are the two gentlemen who worked on my car and happily treated me like I was the most important customer in the world to them! I can't think of a time when I have been more impressed with customer service like I did from them. I will only use them from now on for any car repairs I may have, and I will recommend them to all my friends and family. LaMettry has proven to me that they are very honest, always smiling and friendly, extremely competent at repairs, and that they put customer satisfaction above all else! Buyer Beware! On October 15, 2022 I hit a deer. Two days later, I brought the vehicle (2016 Toyota 4Runner) into LaMettry's, Inver Grove Heights, for an estimate. After looking over the vehicle, the estimator, who's card had his title listed as "Customer Service Manager", emailed me an estimate of just over $2,700. It appeared reasonable, so I decided that I would pay for it on my own, without involving the insurance company. They scheduled me for repair approximately two months later (not great, but fairly typical) on December 21st. Shortly after bringing the car in, I received a call from a LaMettry's representative who said that he had bad news for me. The $2,700 original estimate just turned into $10,050 after further evaluation. Needless to say, I was a bit upset at the discrepancy and asked the rep how they could possibly be so different. He told me that my vehicle was originally inspected by an individual who got the estimate completely wrong. I asked him how that could be possible, considering that the estimator was a "Customer Service Manager" according to his card. The person on the phone said (paraphrasing) "No, he was nothing more than a file clerk, and he is no longer working here". Of course, my reply was, that's not my fault that one of your representatives didn't understand what he was doing. Well run operations would generally send an experienced estimator out to look at a vehicle being reviewed by a rookie. Not at LaMettry's. Instead of LaMettry's fixing the situation, he told me, "I'm sorry, it's going to be $10,050, do you want to have it fixed, or not?". So, I have just waited two months to have my vehicle repaired, only to learn that the actual cost to repair it would now be approximately 300% more than the original. Had I known that when I received the estimate, I would have; 1) Involved my insurance company, and; 2) Chosen another body shop to have it repaired. Of course, the new LaMettry's rep who broke the news to me said that it is not too late to report it to my insurer. I asked him, what happened to the original estimator, the file clerk. He said "he no longer works here", I asked him to define here. Is that at that particular location, or at LaMettry's, in totality? He said that they moved him to their Maplewood location, but he's still working for the same company. I asked him who did the file clerk report to? Ironically, it turns out that the individual who should have been watching over the less informed estimator is the same person who called me with the bad news. This is the guy who failed, not the rookie. They put you in this position of sending an uninformed estimator, providing you with a reasonable or perhaps even a below market quote to repair the vehicle, make you wait two months so you will have to wait another two months if you should get upset and move it to another body shop. That is called a "Bait and Switch" where I come from. It's not a very good position to be in, but I did inform my insurance company, and then I took possession of the car. I decided to wait another two months rather than have this shop repair my car. Any shop that is so poorly run, should not be the recipient of my business, or any others'. And, if you were the claim representative at any insurance company, how could you possibly trust their original estimate, if they can be off by up to 300%? The estimate that I was given seemed obscenely high to me so I decided to contact my insurance. Went to their preferred body shop and the cost was half of what LaMettry's quoted me! read more

The process started out OK, but then things changed with the need for additional Insurance approval and part delays. They had our car for 28 days for an average 4-5 day repair. What a GREAT STAFF! I had to take my Sonata in for hail damage repair and they had it for 3 days. I got regular text updates on exactly what was happening. Working with my insurance was a snap-- they made all of that so easy. The initial Estimate paperwork was very clear and they went over it with me to make sure I understood everything and was comfortable. They even gave me a ride home (in a CLEAN VEHICLE! Nice!) because they knew I didn't have transportation. They offered-- I didn't ask. The front desk folks were very, very friendly and professional too. Our 2-month-old VW Golf Wagon was involved in a hit and run. I was really bummed. In the past my repaired and repainted cars always looked dull and like, well, like a car that was in an accident. I sent a quote request for what I thought would be a simple straightening of the front corner of my truck where it had been hit and the tire was rubbing. I received a reply in moments. I was told to call or stop by and the manager would take a look at it. I stopped right away and the General Manager Kris came right out and took a look. Then one of his technicians came right out and said "give me 15 or 20 minutes". And that was enough to give my tire sufficient clearance and have me on my way. The service was No Charge. I have been to other collision shops and never received such service and friendliness. I was told what needed to be done if I needed more and an approximate cost.I am very big on receiving good service from any company I deal with and these guys I will recommend to anyone. My old truck may have needed a just simple fix to keep it on the road, but I have 2 cars much more precious and if I need either repaired this is where I will call. read more

Terrible workmanship... I am a fully certified NAISE ( now ASE ) general automotive mechanic and our daughters car was taken there to be repaired.. took almost 4 weeks.. First Brian says its done - we turn in rental car - and its not.. Go get another rental.. Next I find a new steering stabilizer link still in package thrown in the trunk that was never installed. Brian says " They come in two's" That is a lie. This car was to be repaired using only new OEM parts for suspension and new aftermarket parts for cosmetic repair. This car was repaired with old used junk yard parts and I was charged for new. It even appears someone has welded the lower control arm in one spot. Shock is rusted out, protection boot torn to shreds. I am actually considering legal action because of the involved safety factor.. These guys are underhanded crooks with back yard mechanics .
