Again, another good repair. They replaced the A/C compressor in my old Ford pickup (with almost 300,000 miles on it) a couple of weeks ago. It worked well, then one day, no cooling.... I took the pickup back for a re-check. They found a leak on the new installation, replaced "O" rings, checked and re-charged the system. The pickup was in and out of the shop quickly. There WAS NO CHARGE for the repair. I can not express the good quality work Juan , Emanuel and the guys have done for my high-mileage vehicles. Went it to get my power steering pump replaced and payed $180 from the $150 I was told on the phone. Provided the pump and a GALLON of power steering and they didn't use it. It's opened too and I can't return it now. There goes $27. If you weren't going to use my provided fluid why bother opening it then. Either way they got the job done and everything's fixed but thats the one part it don't understand. Never had this problem before might reconsider next time. Didn't come as friendly as the last couple times. The mechanic was good and explained what they did to my truck. read more

I took my Honda Element to Lamont auto repair for a job that Honda wanted to charge me 800 dollars for, it was to change the t stat and complete rehose. I called Emanuel at Lamont auto and he did the same job for 200. Honest mechanics don't exist anymore, Manuel is the best and might be the last honest mechanic you'll ever meet. My trip from San Diego to San Francisco took a scary turn as I was coming off the grapevine at 5:30am with my elderly mother and college age daughter. My brakes started shaking and my van was having trouble stabilizing as I pushed the brakes. It was the scariest thing as I came down not sure if I could slow down enough. Luckily, I made it to the bottom and exited right away. The brakes smelled bad, like something was burning. My daughter started looking for a mechanic shop and found Lamont Auto Repair. We took small back roads so I could still move at a somewhat safe speed. We made it at 6:30 and waited until 7:00am when it opened. Emanuel was a godsend. He had so much work already but still made time to help us in our situation. He charged us a very fair and reasonable price and made sure our van was safe to continue our trip.
