    America Jell-O shots!

Hidden gem!!! Always in search of a divey sports bar with good food, drinks and vibes, and Lampasas Beer Market nailed it! AJ & Karlan were fantastic...welcoming, friendly and attentive. The meatball casserole, fresh house made bread & ranch were unreal. The pizza and grilled chicken salad were excellent too. To top it off they had red, white & blue Jell-O shots in honor of America 250! If we're ever passing through town again, we'll definitely come back!

Worth stopping by if you're passing though. Chill vibe, great service, delicious pizza. 10/10 would stop by again.

Check your to go pizza before you leave. They've burned 2 of ours now and the first time didn't find out until we got home 20 miles away. We love the pizza when it's cooked right! And the wings are great too!

Unassuming sign hiding a really good place to hang out with friends and family

A friend invited me to lunch at the Lampasas Beer Market. It's located a half block from the historic Lampasas Courthouse which is gorgeous. Plus there is abundant parking around the square. The business has a fairly plain exterior, small business sign, and an unassuming door which disguises what's really inside. It's a huge cool space with a couple of pool tables, park bench seating, several large screen TVs, and a great bar. A very nice young woman waited on me and brought menus. When my friend arrived, the same person took our drink order. We both choose Watermelon Austin Eastcider. One of my favorite brands but a flavor I had never tasted. The waitress suggested we get Chamoy around the rim (Chamoy is a saucy condiment made of dried chilies, lime juice, and fruit--usually mango, apricot, or plum). It was a perfect complement to the Watermelon cider. I ordered the Fried Pickles to hold us over while we looked at the menu. They can in a large bowl but a a couple of containers of a ranch style dressing. I order fried pickles any time I fine them on a menu. So good, some ok, some overly salty. The Fried Pickles at Lampasas Beer Market are the BEST I have ever eaten. That has a thin flour based batter; were cut very thin; and fried perfectly crisp on the outside like a potato chip. We were both impressed. We couldn't made a decision on good so the waitress suggested the Surprema pizza (Pepperoni, Canadian bacon, hamburger, sausage, mushroom, black olives, onion, and bell pepper - $13 / $18). I ordered a large and we added jalapeños. The pizza came out pretty quickly and hot. They used fresh jalapeños sliced thin with no seeds instead of the regular pickles jalapeños they most of us expect. This gave a much fresher flavor that was not overwhelming. The crust was perfectly thin. It was one of the best pizzas I've eaten in quite awhile. The restaurant is very family friendly. Several well behaved smaller children were there. They are also animal friendly. Two separate people had their leashes puppies with them. We enjoyed LBM so much, that we sat there enjoying a couple of drinks and our food for 3 1/2 hours. There is something very inviting about the place that makes you just want to stay and enjoy the atmosphere. By the time we left at 5:30pm, there was a large number of customers but not crowded. LBM is definitely on 'My Keepers List'

This place is pretty cool. We were lucky to stumble upon it after having something to eat across the square. We played pool on one of the many pool tables. They also had some video games. We went up to get some beers and were told they were on the house, the owner was there and was buying everyone their first beer. Pretty cool . Great place. Fyi: we did not have a chance to try any food.

Stopped here after a rained out camping trip at Colorado Bend. First off our waitress was the best. Super sweet and helpful. We started with the artichoke dip after she asked if they could make gluten free bread for us. The fried jalapeños were the best I've ever had. Ambience was fun and a good selection of beer and a full bar with good prices.

What a GREAT addition to Lampasas! This is just what Lampasas needed ... a place to come after an evening hunt, hang out, play some pool, drink some cold beer, and eat some great food! The beers were cold, appetizers were great, and pizza was excellent! This place is family friendly until 9pm and there is plenty for the kids to do with arcade games! Come with your family or stay after hours ... either way you will enjoy great food, cold beer, good music, and a place for everyone to relax!

Burnt food. Most of the bartenders walk around like they don't want to be there. The beer is cold. Probably won't go back.

But I was stupid, and hungry, and ordered what looked like the specialty of the house at Eve's Café. In fact, it looked like what they called a Wienerschnitzel was the basis for all sorts of schnitzel variations with different toppings and gravy. That should've been an extra warning for me. To be fair, the description on the menu said that what you would get was a pork chop, and that is what I got. It was a little bit tough, which I suspected in advance, watching the people at the next table, sewing on theirs. The breading was weird in a way that's hard to describe. It was somewhat over-seasoned, a little bit hard, and left an aftertaste that was slightly chemical. An even worse sin by Texas standards, it was small, as in the recommended meat portion size for healthy eating, about the size of my hand, minus the fingers. My side of onion rings had the same breading. And even though I am generally a gravy hog, I didn't especially care for the brown gravy that came with my meal. The German dill salad probably had some dill in it somewhere, but it was all drowned in so much mayonnaise-based dressing, I couldn't really taste it, and the whole thing turned into soup before I finished. This all really sounds terrible, but it wasn't actually terrible. I ate all of it except for the soupy salad, but it just never rose beyond competent, when I had gotten my hopes up for some good German food. As I looked around at what others were eating, I really wished I had ordered one of the fabulous-looking sandwiches, burgers, or bratwurst. Those are harder to mess up. The restaurant itself has a nice location on the Square in Lampasas, and a charming vibe. The Thursday lunch crowd was good sized so it looks like a popular local place. The service was very friendly and pretty quick--maybe little TOO quick, as if my schnitzel might've been waiting for me under a heat lamp. Once I'd finished, I was still a little hungry, and considered ordering a slice of their Black Forest Cake. But I have had Black Forest Cake in Bavaria, and I simply couldn't bear another disappointment.

So this place was recommended, so I had to go. The restaurant is a small establishment, with…read morewonderful vibes. The inside was old fashioned, kind of a western twist. Any ways the waiters was friendly and welcoming. She took our oder quickly and brought us libations. The food looked good and tasted outstanding! The meat was soft and the brown gravy was on point. Furthermore the restrooms are super clean and roomy. Looks like there is only one cook, it might take a minute for your order but worth waiting for. Stay hungry my friends!

After the lunch rush there were only two occupied tables so I was seated immediately. The server led me to my seat, handed me a menu, and asked me what I wanted to drink. I chose water with lemon which was quickly brought along with chips and salsa. The salsa was flavorful and not too spicy. I ordered TexMex Enchiladas from the lunch section of the menu. My food was brought to the table surprisingly fast! The beans and enchiladas were hot. The rice was a little on the room temperature side but still warm enough not to complain. I finished my food pretty quickly and lingered a bit munching on chips and salsa. No complaints from the staff. I asked if they happened to have churros and they do! The server said that they come four churros to an order so I asked for an order for dessert. The churros took about 7 minutes or so to cook. They were served extremely hot since they just came out of the fryer. They were served on a plate arranged like a hashtag with five dollops of whipped cream. The plate was sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and drizzled with honey. Each churro was filled with a cream custard. They were very tasty! Total came to $22 with tip. Not too bad these days!
