My 19-year-old granddaughter is visiting from out of town, and she was so impressed with everything: the beautiful presentation, the restaurant itself, and especially the incredible flavors. We arrived around 11:30 a.m. and were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves for a bit. Our waiter was wonderfully kind and attentive, checking on us throughout our meal without ever being intrusive. The wonton soup was delicious, with fresh, crisp vegetables that added the perfect crunch. The lunch special is an amazing value at $13.99. For just a $1 upcharge, you can substitute fried rice, and your meal includes an egg roll, your choice of soup, and your entrée. The portions were generous enough that we both had leftovers to take home for dinner. I ordered the Szechuan Beef, and it was absolutely outstanding. My granddaughter had the Orange Chicken, and we both agreed the Szechuan Beef stole the show! Austin Elite approved! We'll definitely be back!!

He took time to explain the menu and answer our questions. The dining room is large with plenty of seating, and there's a ton of things to choose from. We had Miso soup, Gyoza, and crab rangoon. That's crab meat and cream cheese in a fried wonton, chicken teriyaki, shaggy dog roll, tempura shrimp and avocado, topped with Kani, spicy mayo and eel sauce, TNT roll, tempura shrimp, snow crab, avocado, and lettuce wrapped in soy paper, topped with jalapeño, spicy mayo, and chili sauce, Machi Crunchy Roll, tempura shrimp and cream cheese, topped with crunchy flakes, spicy mayo and eel sauce, pepper tuna sushi, and tuna sushi. For dessert we had a tempura oreo with vanilla ice cream. Everything came out fresh and every dish we tried was delicious. Trevor did a great job keeping up with our orders and bringing food out quickly. The nice thing is even though it's all you can eat, you just order what you want from the menu, and it's made fresh. We liked the shaggy dog roll so much we ordered it twice. We will definitely be back and next time, we're bringing the family.

We finally made it back last Saturday for lunch, and it was definitely worth the wait. I was initially excited to try one of their bento meals after seeing the menu online, but the prices at the restaurant were much higher than what was posted. That's understandable considering how much costs have gone up over the years, so we decided to go with the AYCE option instead. It turned out to be the perfect choice. A special shoutout to our server, whose name I unfortunately forgot to ask. She was friendly, attentive, and honest enough to recommend that we not order too much at first because the tempura portions are much larger than expected. The portion sizes here are much bigger than what we're used to at AYCE sushi restaurants in San Antonio. The shrimp tempura and vegetable tempura were generously sized, with thick, crispy batter that was still flavorful and delicious. Some of our favorite were the Salmon Skin salad, which stayed perfectly crispy even with the dressing, and the Mushroom Soup, which was light, flavorful, and not thick or creamy like many other versions. The shrimp and chicken shumai, chicken karaage, mango rolls, and all of the sashimi we ordered were fresh and delicious as well. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. Between the generous portions, fresh and tasty food, and outstanding service, Sushi Bang Bang reminded us why we enjoyed dining here years ago. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Austin--and now we know to order a little more wisely because the portions are huge!

I will admit it had been a month or two since I had used a pair of chopsticks so my chopstick skills were not the greatest, the wait staff noticed, and quietly put a fork wrapped in a napkin on the corner of my table to make things easier for me, if I so chose to use traditional American tableware I did not... Soto is a…read moreperfect place for you to celebrate a special occasion, date night, or let's go have some 5-star sushi. Soto consistently delivers beyond fresh sushi and straight from Japan specialties. Want to mix some meat with your sushi? Then go for their imported Wagyu beef. It will melt in your mouth. The prices are certainly not on the "all you can eat" sushi restaurant scale, but you are paying premium for premium. On this visit, we arrived during their happy hour. Do check out their HH menu; it is more than generous. I'm not going to bore you with our selections, but the sushi is so tender and fresh that you are insulting the chef and the fish by adding soy sauce and wasabi! One highlight was the Spicy Tuna Katsu Maki; this entrée is wrapped in a seaweed cone with asparagus, avocado, wasabi mayo, and eel sauce. Another was Uni from their imported from Japan menu. My oh my, it was so fresh and creamy! If you do not want to break the bank, their HH and lunch specials will do you right. Do make reservations if you wish to sit at the sushi bar. Speaking of bars, they have a full bar and their martinis are perfectly made. You can expect 5-star service at this 5-star restaurant. Who would have thunk that one of the best sushi restaurants (IMHO) in Austin would be in the CP and located in a strip mall next to the Dollar Tree store!

I visited on a whim but was so impressed by the fresh ingredient choices, customer service, and customizable bowl pricing. FAST FACTS: * Parking - located in a shopping center with a large parking lot * Online ordering - available for pickup on their website * Nutrition information - available on their website * Weekly specials - check their website or social media for updates * Rewards program - join for free and earn points to redeem for free bowls PRICING - The total was $32.45 after tax ($2.47) but before tip for 2 regular poke bowls (2 scoops of protein each). I think the pricing is reasonable for the quality of ingredients and portion size. Veggie bowl: $9.99 Small (1 scoop of protein): $12.49 Regular (2 scoops of protein): $14.99 Large (3 scoops of protein): $17.49 ORDERING - Place an order online for pick up or walk up to the counter to build your own bowl. You choose a base (white rice, brown rice, salad, half and half, seaweed wrap, or hot Cheetos wrap), pick a protein (number of scoops determines the size), choose a sauce, add as many mix-ins as you want, and then add toppings. PROTEINS - Choices include classic ahi tuna, spicy tuna, salmon, shrimp, tofu, and the weekly special. All of the proteins we tried were fresh and the scoops are about 2 ounces each. SAUCES - Choices include house, spicy house, Korean chili, soy ponzu, garlic miso, sweet ginger, sesame shoyu, and citrus. Descriptions and nutrition information for each can be found on their website. MIX-INS - Choices include corn, cilantro, crab, cucumber, edamame, jalapeños, onion, pineapple, red cabbage, scallions, and seaweed salad. Avocado is an extra $1.50 but you can choose any or all of the others listed included with the price of your bowl. TOPPINGS - Choices include chili flakes, furikake, garlic crisps, ginger, onion flakes, sesame seeds, shredded nori, tempura crisps, spicy mayo, wasabi aioli, and wasabi. You can choose any or all of the toppings included with the price of your bowl. I absolutely LOVE how customizable the bowls are! A lot of poke restaurants limit the number of toppings or charge extra for a majority of the items but this was pretty much all-inclusive. I was able to make my perfect bowl for one set price and left feeling full and satisfied! I randomly stopped here for dinner after searching on the map for a healthy and quick dinner option but it's now one of my favorite places! It can be hard to find nutrition information for a lot of restaurants so I absolutely love that they have it available online. If you love poke, it doesn't get much better than Poke House! Highly recommend!

Poke House is a really good "go to" for a great poke bowl…read more First, the staff is always patient and really helpful! That is important when there are so many options to choose from. Patrons are making a ton of choices from all of the great options and, it can be time consuming. Today, I stopped by to pick up 2 bowls. Each had VERY different ingredients and sauces. The employee was patient and very accommodating. I was reading, off my phone, the options that my sister chose. Then, giving the options that I chose for the second bowl. He didn't skip a beat. Even more frustrating for him, I think, was asking for all of the sauces on the side. He didn't seem to mind. He graciously put all of the sauces in little cups. He also labeled them with a Sharpie. Nice touch! Before I move on with the review, I'd like to offer a suggestion for the side sauces. If you are taking your order to go, the sauce containers will ultimately tip over in the bag, on the way home. Although the containers are of good quality, the sauce often leaks out. Perhaps adding a quick wrap of Saran Wrap (or the like), would aid in keeping the multiple sauce containers from tipping over in the bag, on the way home. The fish has always tasted fresh! Not once have I eaten here and complained about the quality! Sometimes we don't want to go to a sushi restaurant to get good raw fish. It's also hard to trust a poke restaurant in a strip mall. Trust me on this, Poke House does the job! I've been to this location at least a dozen times. Not once, was I disappointed in the quality and service. I'm so glad that this place is so close to me! Job well done! When you get that tip option on the screen, do what you see fit. Please consider the patience and kindness of the person building your lunch or dinner.
