Less than 6 minutes, plenty of parking and you keep the doggos on the leash but they're welcome on the beaches.

It's a small location, 15 or so rooms. Very clean, cute and quiet. They're located right right off the main road, across the street is a couple stores and a small coffee shop. The room itself is cute, well done and themed with a sea creature. They have a fridge and microwave. I packed some pre-made meals to cut the cost of food and will warm up what I need. The shower is big, water warm enough. It's cold here most of the time so don't be fooled just because it's by the beach that it's warm. You will need a jacket and not just a sweater most the time. They're about 30 to 45 minutes away from Coos Bay and they're 6 minutes away from the Bandon Beach. It's directly next door to a beautiful Christian church. They are also directly next door to a laundry mat in case you need to wash clothes and a car wash/ vacuum place for all us travelers. They have a designated smoking area AWAY from the rooms so no one can blow smoke in your face by accident. My favorite thing about it was I brought my pups. They had a clean floor, the room was clean. The place was quiet even with other dogs but of course that could change depending on the dogs. One note of a con: the windows did not have proper coverage. There is a gap in curtain closure in the middle. The second shade they have is almost a mesh material so you can definitely see through it. I had to pin it shut with the little table in the room. Other than that I loved it here.

Hairs on one of the headboards

You get what you pay for. Looks cute in pics but be warned it's an old building and the renovations are not that great. Paint and plaster are peeling off the bathroom walls, the light fixture drips rust onto the sink so don't leave anything on it, there were weird little bugs in the room (it was pretty cold so was surprised to see bugs at all) and it had an overall musty stench. There were various types of hair all over the headboards and pillows. Shower curtain was pink and brown stained at the bottom due to mildew. The maid doesn't do a deep cleaning, just a wipe-over and it's obvious. Spend the extra $ and go someplace else.

3 beds, clean room, very pleasant. Less than a hundred bucks after taxes and fees. Beat that!

Just waking up from a night at the Lamplighter in Bandon. This is a classic roadside motel, small and quaint, and unexpectedly charming. And clean! Possibly the cleanest, most well-kept lodging I've ever visited. You can tell the owners took great pains to fix up this old place and maintain it very well. My first impression of the Lamplighter came from a phone conversation verifying my reservation. The woman on the phone was very nice and accommodating from the start. I'm traveling with my seven-year-old son and mentioned this and she immediately offered to wheel in a foldaway bed for him. When we arrived, she remembered the conversation and informed me that there was a cancellation and that their "family room" was available. For an extra twelve bucks, we went from one full sized bed to two full sized beds and a twin in a room decorated with turtles! My kid was so stoked. We borrowed a few board games from the office and were able to stretch out and enjoy a welcoming accommodation rather than just have a place to rest our heads for the night. And the prices are so reasonable. I'm so used to staying in workaday standard lodgings with people who just don't care, and frankly, that's fine, it's what I've come to expect. Which is why it's so, so, so, so pleasant to find myself at what is ultimately a "boutique roadside motel" in a very pleasant little coastal town. If I find myself staying in Bandon again, I will not hesitate to book a room at Lamplighter and would recommend others do the same. There's no ocean view, no fancy stuff, just a very clean, well-maintained and super friendly motel at a very good price. Save your money and go spend it on some awesome seafood or something.

I stayed here over the weekend and can only say great things about it. Check in was easy and fast. I was booked into room 1. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the beautiful lighthouse art on the walls and the clean smell. The room was spacious with plenty of room at the table as well as in the bathroom. The hosts are friendly and helpful. They answered all my questions about Bandon as well as made dining recommendations. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I've slept on in a long time. I highly recommend this inn and would definitely go back for a return stay.

    Love the wall art!

Very clean room and the decor was cute. Beds were incredibly soft with lots of pillows. Easy contactless check in and out. Room was ready early and we were sent a text message saying that. Great location and easy to get to. We will return

I was surprised by how much i loved it, because to look at the thumbnail on Booking.com, it didn't look too attractive, and at first, i skipped past it. Bandon isn't a big place though, an the price was right for The Bandon Inn, so i booked a room. Obviously being on the coast, it has a strong coastal theme in the lobby, which is very cosily appointed, and welcoming. The check in was smooth, and the lady very helpful. The one thing i was not such a fan of was the continental breakfast (i never like any of the options, yogurt, pastries, fruit, cereal, hard-boiled egg - no thank you) And not only didn't i like anything available in this continental breakfast, we were handed a sheet of paper, and asked to say what time we would be coming to breakfast, AND pre-order which items you'd like. For a start, I'm on vacation, so I'm not setting any alarms, and as i said, I'm not into that sort of thing, so i asked her where I could get PROPER breakfast, and she gave multiple options that were available. She was very helpful. We were directed to our room, which was in an outside long building, and you went down some concrete steps, and into the room. I was instantly charmed by the room. We had a balcony!!! With a panoramic coastal view. This is because the long buildings are set above the town, on coastal bluffs. Beautiful. And 2 armchairs and a side table next to the balcony window so you could look out over the town below, and the sweeping coastline. A really nice room, and an affordable price. The temperature of the room was cool and perfect (highly important to me, as i get too hot very easily) I didn't need to put the air conditioning on, as it was already exactly cool enough for me. There's a pathway down to the town below if you don't want to drive there, but we didn't notice it until after we came back from breakfast. It's a very clean hotel. Excellent views, and if you like continental breakfast, you'd give this 5 stars. As it is, it's my 2nd favourite of the 5 hotels, and I would have no hesitation in returning, as I was absolutely charmed by the town of Bandon

Everything is small. The beds, the rooms, the stove, the shower, the toilet. All smaller than you are used to. Definitely not ADA accessible. - This place is old. It smells like your Great Aunt's house and you'll be checking the cupboards for Ribbon Candy. - The place is clean. Spotless. Linens were fresh and not a speck of dust or dirt anywhere. Dishes, cups, everything. Super clean. - It's not modern. At all. You'll use a real key. You'll get a handwritten receipt for your stay. The WiFi is a strange little router plugged in to a random ceiling plug. The stove is small and has coil burners. - It has great beach access. Out your back door and a few steps away. Okay, several steps but still close. - Close to the old town. You're about a 5 minute drive to the old downtown and far off the highway so there is no noise. - It's expensive. A tad uncomfortable with the price but you're paying for the beach access and view. There is a chain hotel across the street that is significantly cheaper but if you want the access, get your credit card out. Hotels / motels are limited in this town and this was the best option we saw. We will stay here again. Once you get over the "weird" of the room set up (it takes about an hour) you will really like the place.

This review is difficult for me to write because, honestly, I wanted to love this place…read more The location is beautiful. The proximity to the beach is outstanding, the setting is relaxing, and the property has tremendous potential to provide a wonderful coastal experience. That is part of what makes this experience so disappointing. I did not want to write this review out of anger or spite. In fact, my initial goal was simply to alert management to a serious issue so it could be addressed before another guest experienced the same thing. During my stay, I discovered multiple bed bugs on the bedding. I photographed the insects, photographed where they were found, and documented the resulting bites. The issue was significant enough that we felt unsafe remaining in the room. What happened next was even more disappointing than the discovery itself. We immediately attempted to contact the hotel for assistance. We called the regular hotel phone number, called the emergency contact number posted on the office door, and sent multiple emails. Despite repeated attempts, we received no response. With no assistance available, we were forced to find alternative accommodations late at night, around 10:00 PM, incurring additional expenses, stress, disruption to our travel plans, and concern about possible exposure to our belongings. The following morning, because all of our attempts to contact management had gone unanswered, we returned to the property in person to speak with management directly. I was not looking for a confrontation. I was looking for compassion, accountability, and reassurance that the matter would be taken seriously. Instead, I left feeling dismissed, disrespected, and treated as though my concerns were an inconvenience rather than a legitimate health and safety issue. I will also note that management declined to accept responsibility for the condition of the room. While I cannot speak to when the issue originated or whether management was previously aware of it, the number of insects I discovered and documented left me deeply concerned about the extent of the problem. To management's credit, a refund was eventually issued. However, a refund does not erase the experience, the inconvenience of having to relocate late at night, the bites, the anxiety of potentially bringing bed bugs home, or the feeling that our concerns were not genuinely heard. What troubles me most is that I sincerely expressed my hope that the issue was isolated and encouraged management to thoroughly investigate it for the protection of future guests. My purpose then, and now, is not retaliation. It is concern that another family may unknowingly find themselves in the same position. I hope the hotel conducts a thorough inspection and remediation of any affected rooms. Every guest deserves a clean, safe place to sleep and a management team that responds promptly and compassionately when serious concerns arise.

My favorite room had a loft spot to sleep, and was private with a great view of the harbor. Kitchen and lounge areas were clean and I met some nice hostelers too. If you enjoy hosteling, this is a good one to visit. They also rent full guesthouse rooms, separately, with views, but I have only stayed at the hostel. Hosteling is very different from hotelling, and it is NOT for everyone, so I would rate this 3 or 4 stars for a hostel, but if you compare it to a regular hotel, i have no idea. Hostels are not camping, not bed and breakfasts, but nor are they hotels or motels, so I have no idea really how to rate them, except hostel to hostel. Hosteling is affordable, social and educational. Someday I'd love to own a hostel.
