I was surprised by how much i loved it, because to look at the thumbnail on Booking.com, it didn't look too attractive, and at first, i skipped past it. Bandon isn't a big place though, an the price was right for The Bandon Inn, so i booked a room. Obviously being on the coast, it has a strong coastal theme in the lobby, which is very cosily appointed, and welcoming. The check in was smooth, and the lady very helpful. The one thing i was not such a fan of was the continental breakfast (i never like any of the options, yogurt, pastries, fruit, cereal, hard-boiled egg - no thank you) And not only didn't i like anything available in this continental breakfast, we were handed a sheet of paper, and asked to say what time we would be coming to breakfast, AND pre-order which items you'd like. For a start, I'm on vacation, so I'm not setting any alarms, and as i said, I'm not into that sort of thing, so i asked her where I could get PROPER breakfast, and she gave multiple options that were available. She was very helpful. We were directed to our room, which was in an outside long building, and you went down some concrete steps, and into the room. I was instantly charmed by the room. We had a balcony!!! With a panoramic coastal view. This is because the long buildings are set above the town, on coastal bluffs. Beautiful. And 2 armchairs and a side table next to the balcony window so you could look out over the town below, and the sweeping coastline. A really nice room, and an affordable price. The temperature of the room was cool and perfect (highly important to me, as i get too hot very easily) I didn't need to put the air conditioning on, as it was already exactly cool enough for me. There's a pathway down to the town below if you don't want to drive there, but we didn't notice it until after we came back from breakfast. It's a very clean hotel. Excellent views, and if you like continental breakfast, you'd give this 5 stars. As it is, it's my 2nd favourite of the 5 hotels, and I would have no hesitation in returning, as I was absolutely charmed by the town of Bandon

She asked if we want the Princess tea ($35 per head) or the Queen tea ($40 per head) so we chose the Princess set. An hour later we arrived to the The Painted Lady Tea house! Mostly street parking but it's not busy so it was easy to park in front the house. The house entrance had two doors but for some reason the first door you see is locked so you enter the right door side as their entrance. The ambiance of the place was super pretty like each section of the house had different themes. Wendi greeted us and said we can sit anywhere in the house. There was two other groups that was dining and noticed they were wearing cool hats so my boyfriend chose to wear a Jester hat and I chose to wear a frilly flower hat. I saw one group eating the Queen tea set so I asked Wendi if we can change our meal plan to that instead and she was able to make the last minute change. We chose to sit in the green room because it was very earthy, decorated with plants, and had small water fountains. Here is what's inside the modified Queen tea set meal: Appetizer -2x Ginger scone -2x Lemon scone -English Tea -Side of sugar cubes -Side of creamer Entree -Croissant sandwich (Ham, cheese, tomato, leafy greens, mustard, mayo) -Egg sandwich -Curry chicken salad sandwich -6x cucumber cream cheese sandwiches *no mayo* -2x crusted egg quiche -Green grapes -Chocolate dipped tangerines -2x Chocolate crunchy dipped strawberries -2x Chocolate drizzled strawberries Dessert -2x Strawberry ice cream cake -2x Oreo cheesecake My boyfriend got a whole Croissant sandwich since the other sandwiches contained mayo. He ended up not liking it because he didn't know there was mustard in it so he just wiped it off and didn't want to ask for a new one. Most tea places I've been don't usually add mustard into their sandwiches so maybe next time I should've said no sauces or all sauces on the side. Their website menu didn't have any details of the sandwiches, it was very vague. I'm kind of sad he wasn't able to enjoy the other sandwiches with me so I wish there was more no sauce sandwich options or self serve sauces in the future but that's what I get for dating a picky boyfriend lol. I really enjoyed everything and loved the decor of the house! But I felt like the menu had too many sweets. I would be fine with just the scones, dipped strawberries, grapes, and oreo cheesecake but the extra dipped tangerine and strawberry ice cream cake were too much. Maybe I suggest make the strawberry ice cream cake and oreo cheesecake to be bite sized. It would be nice if there was a good ratio of savory like maybe add chips, soup, cheese cubes, or other charcuterie board savory snacks. I still recommend this place! The cabins are close proximity to each other but are situated in a way that allows privacy. The guest cabins are thoughtfully decorated and equipped with plenty of extra like a wine opener, a lighter for candles, plush bath robes. The romantic ambiance is easily set if that is your goal. Another short walk up a trail leads to the Guest Hall which is a comfy setting with an amazing view of the ocean. Here you will find a full kitchen at your disposal complete with cookware, spices, and some common items in the fridge. Share a meal in the spacious setting or out on the deck. When you head back to your cabin don't forget to check out the extensive DVD collection. We found everything from classics like "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" to popular Rom-Com and new releases. We borrowed several 80's classics that we hadn't seen in forever! The DVD collection can be found in the bathroom, which might sound weird but you will see when you get here that there is no space wasted in this thoughtful eco-friendly lodge. While in the bathroom be sure to check out the sink. Another detail of imaginative whimsy that depicts the creativity of the owner. Oh, do not forget to flip through a table book that recounts the history of WildSpring. It is a story filled with romance, dreams, and heartache that includes pictures of life realized. And, I cannot forget the attraction of the spa and gazebo! Set amidst the trees and driftwood sits an open air hot tub overlooking the tree line and ocean. The truly amazing thing is that it requires an appointment, meaning it's not overcrowded, you get the luxury of enjoying the relaxing experience sans strangers. It's a simple text to the host to check for availability for an hour soak. Other amenities are EV charging, radiant heated floors, roomy shower, a decent continental breakfast spread, and priceless peace and quiet amidst the old growth forest. The whimsy of the place comes with the decor spread through the walking paths. Hidden among ferns are sculptures, a walking labyrinth, meditation alcoves, creations of all sorts. Everywhere you look is a whimsical touch that makes you feel the great pride and artistic talents of the owner. It's awe inspiring if you take the time to appreciate it. One thing to note: not a great place to get work done, although I'm not sure why anyone would want to. There is wifi, but we found that most of the time it wasn't enough service to even send a text message. But, we were cool with that! This is a place to enjoy being unplugged. We have stayed here twice. In the same cabin, by chance, and have loved it. This last time, in October, we had the place to ourselves in the middle of a classic coastal storm. The wind howled at the Guest Hall and we stood and howled with it. We also got the privilege of thunder and lightning that rolled off the cliffs and gave a haunting view of the forest and sea.
