Lamps Plus isn't actually a store. It's a showroom for lamps only available online via the Lamps Plus website. Do not visit this location if your goal is to walk away with a lamp. I have seen more than one customer respond in complete shock when they learn that they don't sell the majority of their showroom in sotres. Sure, they'll "check the back." I've been looking for a floor lamp online and noticed that they have a storefront in Los Angeles, so I decided to take a trip and see some of the lamps in-person. Interestingly, this store is literally across the parking lot from another lamp store, which I'll write about next, which was pretty bad in comparison. Anyway, the selection at this store was great, but I'm giving the high marks for their customer service. I was greeted by a very nice lady (with a pleasant British accent) was was trying to help me decide on a lamp. She didn't have what I wanted, but several other employees were also very friendly and trying to be responsive, without being overbearing in helping me. Overall, I thought the store had a large and wide selection of lamps, and even more online, while their staff was really helpful and pleasant. Lamps Plus has a lighting specialist who can assist you in design and selection. We live in Palm Springs and used Devyn Park from the Torrance store to assist us in our remodel. We lucked out in that she vacationed in PSP and came over and walked through the house with us. But she could have done it virtually. Best experience at a Lamps Plus anywhere! We were on a mission to find the ceiling fans we needed for our new home and our sales associate, Ada, made it happen! She asked/answered all the right questions and thoroughly researched both in-store and online stock until we found the perfect choices. One fan was in stock for us to take home that day and the other needed shipping and additional accessories but Ada handled everything for us very quickly and efficiently. ARROGANT & SURPRISINGLY RUDE customer service!! I walked in to look for a floor lamp and for outdoor motion lights for my back yard. Even though it was not busy, it took a while to get attention from the 3 elderly salesmen present. I started explaining I needed the outdoor lights to be wireless, the salesman rudely interrupted me in the middle of speaking to snap "next door". I replied "Oh, you don't have wireless lights?" Snapped again "next door"!! Wow, I regret I came in last year to change all my house lights and even paid Lamp Plus for their installation. Another reason to buy online to avoid rude sales staff! I need a hard to find lamp shade. Diameters are usually in two inch increments. 14 " too small, 16" too large. After searching internet , was so happy to get cheerful and helpful voice of Mikeala who patiently checked all inventory and found the perfect 15" shade. Stay far, far away from Lamps Plus! I ordered a simple chandelier a month ago, but am still eating in the dark. I worked with the clerk in the store and ordered what I was assured was a complete kit containing everything I need. I explained I was in a rush, and I was 'guaranteed' fast and efficient service. What I got was an expensive headache! First, my order was four days late to arrive. Then, they couldn't find an electrician to install it (?!?!? a store that does nothing but sell/install lights doesn't have enough electricians?). THEN, when an electrician arrived, the 'complete kit' was missing enough down rods to fit my ceiling -- an item I specifically discussed with the store clerk. When I phoned the company, customer service said 'too bad. You have to buy more down rods.' They refused to send me more unless I paid extra money, plus shipping costs! WHAT A NIGHTMARE! I would've walked if I hadn't spent so much $$$ on the light! (these folks are not cheap) read more

We needed a lighting fixture for the bathroom, of the two we decided upon both had "just been sold, none in stock till mid march". "I'm not supposed to do this but I can sell the display model" Against my better judgement and protestations, I had now walked out of the shop, the display was purchased. Pictured below is what we got at full price, " I'm sorry I cannot give you a discount"; no box, a generic mounting plate that doesn't fit properly, two sets of mismatched nuts and bolts and they even took the display light bulbs out. After an hour of struggling with non uniform pieces and parts I was able to mount the fixture, it's being held by one of two nuts since the mounting plate wasn't original. I spoke with our salesperson who was willing to refund the purchase, but I'm so disappointed with the whole process, I won't waste another minute with Lamps Plus. I know for us this will work and I can replace it when needed, (certainly not from Lamps Plus) but I hope this isn't commonly practiced on others who are more foolish or less mechanically inclined. read more

Points right there. I am used to people ignoring me when I go shopping for certain items. He was the opposite. I told him my parameters and we looked for something at his computer. I dislike shopping and browsing especially household items. Let me loose at Roger Dunn Golf, or Best Buy computer department, or Staples and I make an exception. Even at these stores I can spend at best up to a half hour max and I am out. But I am married to a very lovely lady who has impeccable taste (after all she married me) and infinite patience to get the best deals for our household. Lamps. who cares?! They provide light. So ? Not so. We spent many many many many ... days looking at all manner of lighting stores, small and large. Custom and expensive or cheap and glitzy but all tiring. I had no hope for Lamps Plus. They have very large stores, and many locations and the prices are so low. Wife found two ceiling mount chandeliers she considered. Chewed it over for weeks. Finally we bought two of both styles ( she wasn't sure which one would look best) One style was at regular price the other Velie 12" Wide Round Crystal Ceiling Light - Style # 8F723 was on sale for $149.95. Lamps plus has a liberal 60 day return policy. We were remodeling our condo, so we put them in the closet. After a month and a half we were still not up to the electrical work so we returned both to Lamps Plus, no questions asked for a full refund. You guessed it, when we were ready for the electricians, and having not found anything which looked better, we went to Lamps Plus at Labrea ( since Bundy store was being remodeled) and saw that the Velie 12 inch was back to regular price $199.95. We had no choice and spent the extra $100.00 plus tax in June for two of them for our entrance foyer. Fast forward to August 3rd. Wife saw that the Bundy store re-opened so we were browsing again, this time for knik knacks and arm chairs ( Lamps Plus has very nice and reasonably priced furniture). Lo and behold, our chandelier was on sale for $149.99. We felt we were out $100.00 but chalked it up to experience. Enter Mr. Ron Stone. As he was helping my wife with answers about a vase and a pair of chairs, my wife lamented our purchase at full price months ago, when now it is on sale again. Ron asked us for the date of our purchase. We did not know. It was months ago. He went to the computer and looked us up. Yep. June 3, sixty days to the day. Mr. Stone went out of his way again, and asked a manager to approve a return (virtual) and a refund of the difference. $109.00 credit. Good business and great customer service. Needless to say, we happily spent another $400.00 on pillows, vases and other beautiful accessories. I don't know how Lamps Plus finds associates like Ron, but combined with this kind of customer service and the large selection at very reasonable prices, they can not go wrong. read more

This Lamps Plus location is so wonderful & I am really grateful customer service. They don't just do lighting. There are gorgeous cabinets, pillows, accessories & many seating options. They had many sale items that were a great value & I picked up some great deals but then I came across a cabinet that was absolutely perfect for me. It was marked as reduced to about $220. Honestly it did not make sense because of the quality but of course I immediately decided to buy it. When I met my sale associate at the register a manager came out to tell me the item was miss marked. He was very kind about it & mindful that I already emotionally committed. My hopes kind of dashed away but then an amazing thing happened. Out of respect & appreciation for their customers, the manager stated he recognized the miss marking was unfair to to me and HONORED the marked price. Where does that happen anymore?? I looked online later & found the cabinet on their website for $789.99! Please send these folks some love & shop there or any Lamps Plus store for that matter. read more

And we must say that's what the the store manager Jeff at this Los Angeles location possesses. After dealing with him regarding a fountain order from them that arrived broken in half after we waited months to get - makes us realize why the staff in that store are very friendly, courteous and super helpful. It all starts from the top. Because once Jeff found out about our situation, he immediately got on resolving the issue for us - assuring we get a replacement and are completely satisfied at the end. He's a man of his word. Whatever he says he's going to do, he delivers it 100%, with integrity, kindness, empathy and positivity. If you enjoy being on hold with Comcast, dealing with Delta, and going to the DMV - this is absolutely the right lamp store for you!!! Let me give you a breakdown of my experience here: Visit 1: - Purchased a lamp. They only had floor model available, and I was asked to come back in a couple of days for pick up. PS...this wasn't a bad experience, in fact when they are trying to make a sale, the guys here are helpful. Visit 2: - Waited for 40 minutes to get my lamp once at store. I mean, I've already paid for the lamp at this point so customer service shouldn't matter right? Came home, mildly annoyed about the wait and then as I take the lamp out of the box - saw that it was chipped. Great. Visit 3: - Waited for 45 minutes to get the new lamp. I had spoken with the representative earlier who let me know that there would be no wait...just walk in and grab the lamp! Well, 40 minutes later - guess what, they told me that they didn't have a lamp. By the way, there was a different rep here who could have helped within the first 10 minutes, but refused to do so. Why? Cause his words, "I only help with new sales...we are on commission". Countless visits later, I perhaps ended up not just with a sub-par lamp, but also an ulcer. Quite the winning solution. Also, if they tell you "we're going to call you with an update"....yeah, they don't really mean that. Want lamp? Must be ready to chase! read more

I can't quite give Lamps Plus the five stars it almost deserves on account that their mix and match shade section doesn't quite suit me. lol I mean...the shades ARE inexpensive which is nice but unless you're in the market for shabby chic...their all archaic looking! They run about $10 on up depending on what you're looking for. On the flip side...many of the lamps you'll find in high end stores can be found here for MUCH cheaper!! Case in point...I saw a Lucite lamp for about $100 at Z Gallerie and then saw one here on sale for $59. SO it just goes to show you that shopping around can pay off. Lots to choose from and if for some reason you can't get what you need here...there's another lighting place across the parking lot! read more
