Oh-so-conveniently, the windows, lit up like jewels, showcase the store's offerings, and never fail to beckon me inside as I carry the shopping basket of groceries I have just purchased right NEXT DOOR to Lamps Plus at Trader Joe's to my car. It's like a double-dip yummy ice cream cone: one treat served upon another: TWO shopping outings for ONE quick trip from home, and the location (within one block from TARGET!) makes it super-easy afterwards to get south-north-east AND west, thanks to the easy on-ramps to the 78 FWY and Interstate 5! I popped in there six days ago and bought quite an amazing magnifying light on a stand that helps me see what I'm doing without having to grip anything since I have an arthtritic thumb. Later in the week, I discovered that, due to the design of encircling lights, the device works perfectly to light up my face on ZOOM calls. Who knew? The kind gentleman who waited on me was top-notch (even got me a cup of water to sip) and I was on my way home again in plenty of time to get my groceries into fridge and freezer. The remote control for my ceiling fan stopped working. After some investigating with the mfg. I called LampsPlus to see if they had the part. They had the part. I bought it and returned home. I soon learned that changing the part was NOT a one man job. Called and made arrangements to have their contractor come and make the change. My wife and I have been shopping at Lamps Plus (2598 Vista Way, Oceanside CA, 92054) ever since we moved here almost 10 years ago. Professional, cordial service in every way. Today they topped themselves. I have a large hutch in my music room with a pull-out light rack over the desk area. It's been acting up for quite a while now, and it was time to seek an electrician's help. The unit was bought at Jerome's Furniture, but they didn't seem to care enough about my plight to be of any help. Because of our extensive experiences at L. P., I decided to try them. I stopped by to see Pal Walia, who manages the store, and he immediately set about setting up an appointment for me with repair people. He suggested buying a switch right then that he felt would be needed for the repair and I bought bulbs as well. My room is a mess, papers all over the place, and no easy access to the repair area in the furniture. The two electricians set about gaining access to the lamp area, took everything apart, and diagnosed the problem as a faulty connection. Everything was repaired and replaced back the way it was, only this time it worked perfectly! One of the best experiences I've ever had in dealing with a problem such as this. The repair people were professional, careful and cordial. Just great! Great store and great people backing up their products and even other stores' products! After spending quite a bit of time (unsuccessfully) on the internet looking for two bedroom lampsI decided it was time to make a trip to Lamps Plus to see if they might have something that would work. I was looking for a black iron table lamp, and hadn't really seen anything that would work. Walked around the store for a few minutes and really didn't see any prospects, and was approached by Christy, one of the salespeople at this location. I explained to her what I was looking for, and told her that I would be willing to paint the lamp black if I could actually find a style that would work (and was paintable). She showed me a few possibilities, and one of them turned out to be the winner! I didn't like the shade it came with, so with her help we tried a few different shades and found another one that looked perfect. The lamp was on sale, I received a credit for switching out the shades, and in the end the total came to well under what I was willing to spend. Christy also helped me pick out a "touch" on/off/dimmer gadget. My husband and I set up the new lamps, added the "touch" feature and were totally satisfied. I have to thank Christy for her help. I had seen this particular lamp on the Lamps Plus website, but it was too tall, and not the right color. Christy explained that she could put a smaller harp on the lamp which would make it shorter. We bought 7 different fixtures here and were very happy. They had a sale a week later and gave me money back on my purchase. They exchanged a lamp we changed our mind about with no questions asked. Pal was particularly helpful to get me a fixture needed at the last minute calling me first thing the following morning to meet a deadline for installation. Went to Lamps Plus in Oceanside to find Chandeliers for my Entryway and Stairway. Went with my dear friend who is a designer and sends quite a lot of business their way. Christy who helped us is a delight and extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. She went out of her way to spend time with me and help me find the perfect chandeliers. After my very experience licensed electrician installed my chandeliers, the one for my stairway has a short in the socket. He troubleshooted for quite a while and found out it was indeed the socket. I called Lamps Plus and Christy was out today so they put me through to the Manager, PAL. Right away he was unaccommodating and rude. Without even looking at the light he was trying to tell me what went wrong. I told him I wasn't an electrician and could he please speak to my electrician. At first he didn't want to, but then relented. I spent $150 to install this Chandelier PLUS the price of the Chandelier. PAL would not help me or even try to send their electrician to install a new Chandelier. He did say they would replace the existing malfunctioned one but will not help us on any of the installation costs. Right from the get go he was trying to place blame where it didn't belong. Even though Christy was wonderful, I will never buy anything else from this store or another Lamps Plus again. Customer Service is definitely not alive and well at this store. read more

Possible fraud alert: Pat Walia, manager, helped me order two matching light fixtures which were promised within 7-10 days. I received only one item and it was damaged because it had been someone else's return. When my second item had not arrived after 21 days I contacted customer service. I was informed by Pat Walia that the item was discontinued. I went to the store to return my damaged item and requested a refund on my total order. It is nearly 60 days from when I placed my initial order and despite my personal visit, emails, and phone conversations with Mr. Walia I still do not have a refund. After every contact, I'm promised a refund by the next day, which of course never happens. After selling me a product that wasn't available, charging my credit card, not delivering merchandise for my purchase, and refusing to credit my account, I'd say it rises to a level above incredibly poor service. I filed a fraud complaint with the bank today. Go somewhere else. read more

Today I have electrician coming, so I went to the store and bought 2 lighting fixtures, and one of them has scratches, so I called the store so the sales lady said he will ask the sotre manager whether they can bring one of them for me or not. Then the responds was no. the office manager of the day on Jun 27th. He said, unfortunately, they can't do that. Are you serious, you should check lighting fixture before you gave it to me. Anyways, the manager is just lazy and thinks if he apologize everything will be alright. Your applogy is not sincere I wonder how can this person be a manager. well, maybe he is good at kissing other people 's ass. I end up paid my electrician gas money and bring all the lighting fixture back to the oceanside store. I would never want to go back to this store. I don't want to put any star for this store. I love this store! The employees here are all so helpful. My husband and I bought a chandelier the other day for an awesome deal. When my husband got home and took the chandelier out he accidentally dropped one of the glass shades and broke it. Because we bought the last chandelier (the floor model) I was stressed out because we were going to have to try and find the exact model online or search for a similar glass shade. Which means buying a whole new set, costing us more than what we wanted to spend. Bummer! I took my chance and went in the store. Marco Lopez was the first to greet me in the store. He asked what he could help me with and I explained the situation. He knew exactly which chandelier we bought and went in the back and boom!!! He happened to find the LAST extra shade to our chandelier. He could have easily not took the effort in looking for the shade and make me have to buy a whole new set but he was extremely helpful! I left the store ecstatic that we didn't have to spend a lot more for our chandelier that I forgot I needed extra chain slack and ended up going back in =P. Marco again was there to help me out with the chain as well as a longer chord since we aren't able to install the chandelier electrical cords directly to the ceiling. I've purchased product at the Lamps Plus at this Oceanside location, as well as in San Diego. Much prefer this location. Shara has helped me with the purchase of 5 ceiling fans, 1 hanging fixture, and numerous lamps over several visits. She has a degree in Interior Design and I've grown to value her input on my projects. Pal (the Store Manager) is also available to answer any technical issues. Would recommend a visit during the week as I've noticed the wait can be trying on the weekends. I do sometimes peruse the Lamps Plus website for ideas, but like to see lighting first hand prior to purchasing. Should also advise I've used their installation services at 2 different residences in the past 12 months - very fair prices and excellent results. For the installation of one ceiling fan, it required accessing a small crawl space and moving the light 1.5 feet - no complaining and made it work with existing wiring. They called the day prior to confirm. Bottom line: very, very happy with customer service and product knowledge. read more
