Many years ago I had an underwhelming experience with Lancaster Brewing, and unfortunately more than 12 years later I'm still kind of underwhelmed. The beer is good, or at least good enough, and I still like their milk stout. Most of their beers are forgettable though. The food leaves much to be desired. My cheesesteak egg rolls were kind of tasteless and when I tasted my husband's burger it seemed kind of gamey and a bit off. The ambiance is fine for what it is and the service is good, but nothing wowed me enough to come back. I think I'm done with Lancaster Brewing when there are so many other more innovative breweries and taprooms around.

Pretzel appetizer. The cheese dip was tasty!

This taproom is a conveniently located extension of the Lancaster Brewing Company and their line of unique beers. This location had what I'd call "generic Gastropub" food. The burger was heavy on the charcoal, though it looked Pre-made. The pretzel appetizer was very dense, not a light and fluffy-type pretzel. The dip it came with was delicious and paired well with the fries. On the beer side, we had a few unique treats, including a peanut butter beer. While I won't go home and try to buy a peanut butter beer franchise, I do think it's a fun flavor to try in a flight or to split with a friend. Put simply, this is what you'd expect from a brewery - food that checks the box, with a lengthy beer menu that can help give you a little variety in your life.

French dip

We arrived after a basketball tournament at 830 pm on a Saturday night. We did note that most local restaurants were open till 10-11 but this place closed at 9pm on a Saturday. When we entered the hostess rudely stated that they close in 30 minutes. I said but you're currently open right? Yes After that the server was great. We ordered quickly and sampled some beers. I understand workers wanna get out on time but when you're in the food service business and ppl arrive 30 minutes prior to close you don't have to make them feel like shit for entering. As for the food the pretzel was great as well as the French dip. The pizza was nothing special kinda doughy on bottom definitely needed a couple more minutes in oven but maybe they rushed cooking it, the burger was good. I think this would have been 4 stars without the rude first impression by the hostess.

No nonsense , no complaints. A good last minute meal. The burger was great. Meat was juicy and medium like we asked The pizza was a 7/10. It could have been a more thinner crust. The egg roll was fine. Above average. The pit stickers were also fine. Above average. Gnocchi I thought was a 8/10. Overall a nice place for an inexpensive evening meal with friends.

Sean the bartender!

We recently visited the Lancaster Brewing Company. Our girls were seated right away for a cozy team dinner, but the best seat in the house was at the bar with Sean. All 10 bar stools were occupied with exhausted parents needing a drink and Sean surely did not disappoint. Not only was he thoroughly entertaining, but his service was friendly and prompt. His recommendations about the local cuisine were on point! We will definitely return if Sean is behind the bar!

Wings half Asian half buffalo. Just not great and my 15 year old son who loves wings and orders them every where wouldn't even finish them.
Nicole M.

The beer was good. Service was good restaurant was nice. Food however was not great we had wings Asian style they were just not great. The pretzel looked good but was burnt on the bottom so it was not a great experience in that respect but other than that everything was great and I'm sure there are other menu items that may be better but I wouldn't be back for the food that's for sure.

Lancaster Brewing Co. Tap Room & Grill

We didn't dine here. The beers are awesome!! Love Lancaster beer. 6 of us visited here after being referred by Hilton Tru Motel across the street where we were staying. Such a great experience. We had Sean as our bartender. He was the best! Kept us all laughing. Such a character. He interacted with all the other employees so well. Everyone working there was great!! We had such a great time that we didn't want to leave. But we had another engagement. Would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area. And you can buy the local Lancaster beer right there to take with you. They had a flight of six to sample and prices were great. Great atmosphere.

Filet Mignon Tip Grinder

From the moment we walked in the door we were well taken care of with quick seating and excellence, attentive service. Our server was at our table in less than 2 minutes and had our drink orders taken and placed our Yelp free Pretzel order. It arrived paired with the most incredible cheese sauce, and the Philly style braided roll was hot, firm on the outside and soft and delicious in the middle. The portion size was spot on and could have been stretched to 3 people if needed. Topped with fresh diced scallions it was certainly the best way to start our meal. The sandwiches arrived in good order and were equally well presented and loaded with flavor. The Filet Mignon Tip Grinder with Gruyère, sautéed onions, horseradish aioli on a fresh hot toasted roll with house-cut fries was absolutely amazing. Toasted up just right and accompanied by some seriously delicious fresh cut fries. The Smokehouse Brisket Sandwich was piled high with deliciously smoked brisket, shaved and served up with cheddar jack cheese, bbq sauce on a fresh onion roll with hours cut fries. In addition we asked for a side of ranch dressing for the dries, which is highly recommended as it certainly tasted homemade and finished off the fries like icing on a cake. I did try the Lemon Blueberry Shanty and enjoyed the sample, but with being full from the pretzel and then having entrees with at least 2 1/2 of drive time still ahead of us I decided to forgo the beer as well as loading up with any to take home. We made a stop at the restrooms which were quite large, clean and well lit as was the dining area. You can see they are limited in space as beer is stacked up in all extra spaces with labels on the wall to help when unsure of what's what. For the overall size of the operation they crank out an incredible menu. Highly recommend this when in the area, and make sure to mention the free Yelp Pretzel, it's a great way to start your dining experience.

Are doggos welcome on the patio on Rt 30?

As far as I know the patio is not dog friendly.

Can they accommodate large parties for dinner?

We were there for 30-45 minutes and she then finally brought out the cocktail menu. Not entirely sure I would come back.

Our first stop of the day was Rumspringa Brewery which I had been to about 12 years prior, just before I started yelping. It's co located with my hope wine gallery. The taproom itself has bright wood floors which dominate the color scheme and then there is merchandise all around the room including sweatshirts and beer to go. Finally there are pictures of Amish country on one of the walls which is fitting. I went with a flight here As I often do whenever I visit a new brewery. At rumspringa it consists of 5 beers for $15. I chose the harvest gold, red caboose, otra mas, altbier and finally the blood orange cider. For my first beer I started with the Harvest gold which was a nice malty beer with lots of flavor and a clean finish. Second was the Red caboose which tasted like a nice brown with some hops on the front and a nice caramelly flavor on the finish. Up third was the Otra mas which had a smooth start with a sort of malty and sour type finish all rolled into one. I don't think I have had a beer like this in a long time and it wasn't my favorite. Fourth was the altbier which also had a smooth start with a deep rich flavor on the finish. It was a really nicely flavored beer and my favorite of the bunch. Last but certainly not least was the Blood orange cider which was sweet from the start with a bit of fruit at the finish. I don't know that I could have told you it was blood orange until the end of the aftertaste which had almost a perfume like taste of it. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. It doesn't seem like you are going to get any supper hoppy or trendy beers here and that's ok as they are doing good with more traditional recipes.

There goes my dream of the Amish stomping on the grapes like in old France. The place also was severely understaffed. One poor woman was up and down those stairs trying to do the job of three people. Will be back to try the spirits.

The hostess sat us promptly. The server took about 10 minutes to get to us and we were ready to order everything. We ordered two non alcoholic drinks, French onion soup, a Cobb salad with steak no ham, no bacon, blue cheese dressing and green goddess dressing and poutine fries. The soup was decent. A little sweet for French onion. My salad came out with both ham and bacon on it, and I was missing my green dressing. The steak was tough and I wasn't given a steak knife so I was sawing away at it with a butter knife. I picked the ham and bacon off the salad and put it on a side plate. I couldn't get all of the bacon out. The server finally came to check in, I asked for the green dressing and let him know the drinks hadn't come yet. My husband's drink came out. Mine did not. Towards the end of the meal I asked for the drink. It was just soda and peach. When he brought it he let me know it was spiced peach. I wish I knew that when I ordered it. It tasted like booze and I couldn't drink it. When we were finished and our plates were clear the server then apologized for the ham and bacon. I would have rather it been fixed than be an after thought. I just feel we were forgotten about

It is too early for wine? Of course not!…read more Especially if the wine is from the Lancaster Beer and Wine Gallery, located between Bird-in-Hand and Intercourse on Old Philadelphia Pike in Pennsylvania, in the heart of Amish Country. Enjoy tasting the vast selections of wines from the Mount Hope Estate & Winery - home to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire - on the first floor and then have a snack and a beer from the Rumspringa Brewing Company in the Barn Cafe on the second floor. Whatever you do, do not go home without one or two (or several) bottles of their outstanding wines. Nothing at your local shop will compare. Our favorites include: Honey Mead - their 2010 Vintage Gold and 2011 Vintage Bronze Winner at the PA Wine Association Competition, made from 100% Lancaster County honey. Blackberry Wine - a selection from their Cornucopia of Fruit Series. A full-bodied medium sweet wine with a strong berry flavor. Becky's Blush - an Amish-inspired wine from their Intercourse Series (What? It's a real name of a real village, so grow up.) This is an extremely sweet blush from the catawba grape, best served chilled. Quilter's Delight - another Amish-inspired wine and our hands-down favorite. A medium-sweet white, perfect for company, gift-giving, or anytime! Other offerings include their Fantasy, New World, Royal, and Euro Hybrid Series. Try them all. You will not be disappointed.
