It was pretty loud in the tap room once it got busy, making conversation a little difficult. After we were seated, we were given waters and ordered the cheesesteak egg rolls as an appetizer. Almost immediately after our server walked away, the egg rolls arrived. It caught us off guard because they came out so quickly that we wondered if they had been prepared for another table or if they were simply made that fast. For our entrees, my husband ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken, and I had the French Dip. Unfortunately, I felt the French Dip was lacking flavor, and the fries were noticeably undercooked. We had a wonderful trip to Lancaster. I made a wish list of the "must see" locations (farm, cow, covered bridge, soft pretzel, horse & buggy, etc). Hubby wanted to visit a bar. I read the reviews for Lancaster Brewing (near a farm, cow, covered bridge, they serve pretzels, horse & buggys are nearby). When I saw that there was a bartender named Boots, I knew we had to visit. Hubby had already read about Lancaster Brewing and we were happy to visit. You can't tour the actual brewery anymore but the manger and bartenders are great about discussing the brewing process and styles. There were some interesting seasonal beers. We could have moved to a table but we enjoyed chatting with Boots. He is easy going and quite knowledgeable about everything on tap. The menu has sandwiches, pizza and pub food. My only wish is that they include fried pickles. The place is fun. The retail items are limited but you can buy a six pack for about $13 that you mix and match yourself. Growlers are also available. The place closes at 9pm, so plan accordingly if going at night. read more

Many years ago I had an underwhelming experience with Lancaster Brewing, and unfortunately more than 12 years later I'm still kind of underwhelmed. The beer is good, or at least good enough, and I still like their milk stout. Most of their beers are forgettable though. The food leaves much to be desired. My cheesesteak egg rolls were kind of tasteless and when I tasted my husband's burger it seemed kind of gamey and a bit off. The ambiance is fine for what it is and the service is good, but nothing wowed me enough to come back. I think I'm done with Lancaster Brewing when there are so many other more innovative breweries and taprooms around. read more

Blackened fish sandwich-skin was slimy and lettuce was soft and cooked, not crispy, the whole thing was slippery. French fries tasted like they had been sitting around for hours. This taproom is a conveniently located extension of the Lancaster Brewing Company and their line of unique beers. This location had what I'd call "generic Gastropub" food. The burger was heavy on the charcoal, though it looked Pre-made. The pretzel appetizer was very dense, not a light and fluffy-type pretzel. The dip it came with was delicious and paired well with the fries. On the beer side, we had a few unique treats, including a peanut butter beer. While I won't go home and try to buy a peanut butter beer franchise, I do think it's a fun flavor to try in a flight or to split with a friend. We arrived after a basketball tournament at 830 pm on a Saturday night. We did note that most local restaurants were open till 10-11 but this place closed at 9pm on a Saturday. When we entered the hostess rudely stated that they close in 30 minutes. I said but you're currently open right? Yes After that the server was great. We ordered quickly and sampled some beers. I understand workers wanna get out on time but when you're in the food service business and ppl arrive 30 minutes prior to close you don't have to make them feel like shit for entering. As for the food the pretzel was great as well as the French dip. The pizza was nothing special kinda doughy on bottom definitely needed a couple more minutes in oven but maybe they rushed cooking it, the burger was good. All 10 bar stools were occupied with exhausted parents needing a drink and Sean surely did not disappoint. Not only was he thoroughly entertaining, but his service was friendly and prompt. This was our first stop upon arriving in Lancaster, and sorry to say, but we were quite disappointed. We ordered 2 of the Taproom Burgers and they came out quickly but were cold. The bread was dry and flavors just weren't there. The fries were room temperature and not crispy at all. My other half ordered the burger with filet mignon tips, supposedly, which was better because the meat was still piping hot. However, the flavors were also missing ... and the majority of my family left pretty unhappy. read more

My friend and I met for lunch this past weekend. We had such a great time catching up in this casual spot conveniently located near the outlets. From the moment we walked in the door we were well taken care of with quick seating and excellence, attentive service. Our server was at our table in less than 2 minutes and had our drink orders taken and placed our Yelp free Pretzel order. It arrived paired with the most incredible cheese sauce, and the Philly style braided roll was hot, firm on the outside and soft and delicious in the middle. The portion size was spot on and could have been stretched to 3 people if needed. Topped with fresh diced scallions it was certainly the best way to start our meal. The sandwiches arrived in good order and were equally well presented and loaded with flavor. The Filet Mignon Tip Grinder with Gruyère, sautéed onions, horseradish aioli on a fresh hot toasted roll with house-cut fries was absolutely amazing. Toasted up just right and accompanied by some seriously delicious fresh cut fries. The Smokehouse Brisket Sandwich was piled high with deliciously smoked brisket, shaved and served up with cheddar jack cheese, bbq sauce on a fresh onion roll with hours cut fries. In addition we asked for a side of ranch dressing for the dries, which is highly recommended as it certainly tasted homemade and finished off the fries like icing on a cake. I did try the Lemon Blueberry Shanty and enjoyed the sample, but with being full from the pretzel and then having entrees with at least 2 1/2 of drive time still ahead of us I decided to forgo the beer as well as loading up with any to take home. We made a stop at the restrooms which were quite large, clean and well lit as was the dining area. You can see they are limited in space as beer is stacked up in all extra spaces with labels on the wall to help when unsure of what's what. For the overall size of the operation they crank out an incredible menu. Highly recommend this when in the area, and make sure to mention the free Yelp Pretzel, it's a great way to start your dining experience. read more

In a midst of popular chain restaurants (Texas Roadhouse,Applebees, IHOP, and Red Robin) , you'd think an independent,local establishment would have some trouble in a particularly touristy area; however, LBC has no lack of business and a clear steady stream of regulars. I was able to try two different IPAs on our two visits while in town. The hop hog was my favorite of the two. On our first visit , I enjoyed the Greek shrimp salad while my parents split the bbq pizza. My son had the kids pizza. On our second visit, my son and I split the bbq pork sandwich, my mom had the ribs, and my dad had a beef sandwich. My parents also had the lemon blueberry shandy both nights and really enjoyed it. Service was superb on visit #2, ok on visit #1. I'd highly recommend a visit if you're in the area and skip all those mediocre chains. read more

Visited when I was in town at the Railroad Museum. Menu is very eclectic but decided to give it a try. We were sad that outdoor seating was closed due to limited staff but understood. The service outside of that wasn't impacted. We ordered the pretzel which was free when I checked in. It was stale and OK. The crab dip,however, was amazing. I shared that and a Caesar salad with my husband. We asked for the dressing on the side. It came on it, but there wasn't too much. My sister had the hamburger and said it was great. My son had the cheese pizza with goat cheese. They forgot to add it but my son happily added it afterwards. He also got a side of Kalamata olives. I had been familiar with (and generally fond of) LBC's beers from various sample packs (and especially like their milk stout), but had never been to the brewpub. When I finally visited this past week, I was blown away. Two us shared samples of beer, each of which was excellent, and two of which stood out: the PB Ale (which really captured the essence of peanut butter, while remaining light) and the Shoo-Fly Pie Porter (which was mind-blowing, sweet and warm and slightly boozy with nice buttery notes at the end). Bottom line: the beer creative, interesting, and generally very good. The food was just as good. As an appetizer we ordered and split the Philly pretzel twist, which had a lovely (bready and salty) flavor on its own and augmented further by the beer cheese (which my gf in particular loved). We also got some pierogies, which were pretty standard as pierogies go (but with a lovely buttery crisp on them). For dinner, we split a meatball sub and a full rack of ribs. The meatball sub was unremarkable, but the ribs were among the best I've had at a beer-focused establishment (and certainly the meatiest). Two of us happily gorged ourselves on the ribs like barbarians as we still had leftovers for breakfast (they kept well). You guys, without saying... this place is really good! I'm so lucky that I was sent to KOP to work because it gave me the chance to go to Lancaster to walk around and try some delicious food. My colleague and I went to the shops at Bird-in-Hand and got a little hungry. We found this place that was about to open so we waited. We were the first customers so we got all the attention at first lol, then it started to get a little packed. It has been ages since I had a beer, don't know much about it but whatever I had was delicious and so refreshing. Then I got a grilled salmon burger, and to be honest, I've haven't had such delicious burger as theirs. My goodness, I can still taste it and my mouth waters every time I think about it. I have zero clue what they did to it but I can't describe the taste, all I know is that I tasted heaven that day and it was magical! Stopped here with a friend for drinks and food. It was my first time in this area. It's located in shopping center next to a closed old motel. Their building is a bit rundown and we were tempted to go elsewhere. We arrived at opening and were immediately seated. We asked for their free pretzel through the Yelp app and a cranberry margarita and apple smash. You could taste the liquor in both and we were pleased. The margarita was tart with the cranberry. The apple smash was very sweet with a good hit of the bourbon at the end. We loved the garnishes with it as well. The pretzel was fresh, soft, and the cheese was great with it. I should have ordered another one to bring home. We shared their butternut squash pirogies. They were fantastic. Made fresh and the bacon bits and fried onions were cooked to perfection. We had their blackened shrimp salad, which was good, but nothing special. I ordered their fish and chips and boy, that was a huge hit. The fish was truly fried up in a thick batter and topped with sea salt. It was a large dish and I could only enjoy a 1/3 of it. It had coleslaw and tarter sauce on the side. The coleslaw wasn't my favorite, but the sauce was great with the fish and chips. I recommend ordering this as a fish to share. They didn't have a dessert menu, but they did have desserts. It was a chocolate bomb or a lemon dessert. We went for the chocolate bomb. It was a chocolate moose cake with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. When you go up to what you think is where you need to check in to get a table and when someone finally acknowledges you... and says ' that's not my job' when you inquire about getting served - we should have walked out... then one d the servers says as an explanation 'oh we're a really small business' (Lady... you have 3 other locations WTF). I had a great time here with my family, my cousins and I have two toddlers and we were treated great by staff. The food was delicious I got the fish and chips! The steak tip sandwich was probably the best at the table. The vibe is chill & the beer is incredible we did the float and everything was really good! The peanut butter beer was my favorite and the lemon blueberry as well! 6 & 4 packs to go are reasonably priced! Stopped at the Lancaster Brewing Tap House on Lincoln Hwy yesterday for some food and drinks. We like sitting at the bar so we were very happy that there were stools available. The bar area is very cozy and inviting. Sean was the bartender and he was amazing. Immediately greeted us and quickly brought us our beers. Had the Cajun crab drip which was as good as any in Maryland. The menu has such good options so we were struggling with what else to order. Sean recommended the Jerk Chicken Cheesesteak, and boy I am glad he did. It was so delicious! I loved having a bartender that is familiar with the food and can offer suggestions.
