This place is the best vet I have ever been to. They really truly care and have specials or discounts on specific things (X-rays, bloodwork, etc). They also have a recommendation to an emergency clinic if something happens during non-office hours. This is the ONLY place I have ever felt comfortable with my dog being put out for a procedure. He's so tiny and it made me so nervous. They reviewed EVERYTHING (and I mean everything) in great detail before and after. They also called me to let me know when his procedure started, as soon as it ended, and when he felt better just so I would know. They really understand that your pets are your babies. Other than the procedure the standard vet visits (shots, yearly check-up, etc) are all good too. They try to make sure you don't wait long, offer your pup treats, listen to all of your concerns, etc. Our family pet had to be put down and they light a candle so everyone knows that some people are saying goodbye- so considerate. Also, they have portraits with their pets hanging and cards for a discount if you want them done too. Our family pet was very sick for awhile and got an infection when a different vet pulled teeth and didn't actually take care of her or care about her progress and it changed her life negatively. We then asked around and got this vet. While she was being treated here and people around town knew she was sick they would ask who our vet was and we would say the vets here/this office and people would say, "oh, they're the best." We have a close family friend whose yorkie was bit by a rattlesnake and the vets here saved him (miracle!). I can guess not every experience is as positive depending on your needs, but I have nothing but positive things to say. Thank god I found them. read more

I have never left a review for a Vet before, but after taking 2 of my dogs to Lancaster Pet Clinic just this year, I am beyond impressed. The first thing I noticed was the atmosphere, it's clean and I loved the pictures of the Techs/Doctors with their pets on the wall as soon as you walk in. It was very inviting and you could tell they loved animals. Everyone that works there is so friendly, easy to understand and seemed genuinely happy to be working there. They truly made me feel like they cared. After I put my 16 yr old Pug down, they had flowers delivered the next day to my home. Me and my husband cried. We were so upset from losing our baby, but that mean more than anything that they took the time to do that. I would recommend them over anywhere we've previously gone. read more

They are all about money. Spent 1700.00 in one year. They prescribed my boy Iggy apoquel and I've been getting it on pet meds to try and save a few dollars. Now they won't authorize the prescription without another exam which the price changes every time. Last time I brought him in was supposed to be for just a injection for itching. Turned out to be another full exam meaning more $$$. Not a good surprise. If you're great on money and not on ss this might be the place for you. They make it almost impossible to be able to afford a pet with health issues. read more

I am so happy I moved my pups here, and I absolutely don't understand even one bad review. Dr. Greg is excellent, truly cares about your pets, and takes the time to explain everything you need to know about whatever is going on medically with your pet. The whole staff is exceptional, exam rooms are spotless, and the care they give us top notch. Dr. Leigh is also amazing. You cannot go wrong here. My dogs are rescues, and all of them came with their own medical issues, and it's great to find a vet that really cares about our concerns. Vet care can be pricy, but what you're paying for is the same as personal medical care, and I want the best for my dogs, the same way I chose the best doctors I can find for myself. I've tried less pricy, large vet offices, and they made mistakes that impacted my dogs health. That won't happen here. I couldn't be happier with them. read more

Lancaster Pet Clinic is the BEST I have been taking my dog here since he was a puppy and they've always helped me with anything I needed. They take great care of him and explain everything in detail at the office. They also have very fair prices and the staff is incredibly sweet and caring. When there have been emergencies they couldn't squeeze me in they've helped me find another vet to go to or gave me advice over the phone. Dr Greg is a rude greedy piece of work. He claims he needs to examine my dog again before refilling my meds for my dog. Even though she had an exam 3 months ago. But he refills the meds from his Lancaster pet clinic pharmacy but denies my meds from fosters and smith pharmacy. He is only after money money money and does not give a crap about your pets health. Just money. Now I will gladly pay someone else for an exam that cares about my dog. read more

I cannot say enough about how great this clinic is. Their prices are reasonable, they accept our Care Credit. But they treat us like family. In the last 3 years we lost 2 of our beloved pets. 13 year old Yubel, a long hair husky; and 15 year Bradley a dachsund/labrador mix. They provided us their ashes in a nice box decorated with ribbon and their license tags. They even gave us sympathy card with their paw prints. The staff is patient. I was beside myself in grief this past January when we had to put Bradley down. They were wonderful. read more

We took our puppy there for her first visit. They were adhering to covid protocols. I called there once i arrived. About 10 mins later a vet assistant came out and talked to me and took my puppy inside. About 20 mins later I got a phone call from the doctor. If I could give zero stars I would. My cat would be dead if Dr Greg gave us the correct diagnoses. A week ago we had a visit and were told our cat was healthy and only in the early stages of kidney disease. Just 6 days later the symptoms worsened. Our cat was unable to hold in his bowel movement, threw up, was lethargic and breathing very very heavily. We had to take him to the AV veterinary center (an emergency pet hospital) because it was late and an emergency. After two hours of waiting for our cat to be checked out we were told he was actually in kidney FAILURE. He was forced into 24 hour hospitalization. It was the worst night of our life and could have been avoided had this place cared more about our pet than the money he could provide them! We will NEVER take him back here or any future pets. I advice anyone to look else where for these people only care about money not your FAMILY!! read more

We were able to find out what was wrong with our very sick miniature pinscher by a simple blood test. So I am very disappointed and more than upset at this place. Yes after me and my sister walked out we thought it was a good place but our dog showed otherwise. Let me begin... Koda is our chow who got this unusual skin disease and it kept getting worse so we decided to take him in so we know what's going on and to stop whatever he had. We called this place and they were open for an appointment later that day so we took him. It did take a while for the vet to see him but once he came we explained the situation and he listened and asked questions. He then told us what it could be not what it was that my dog had. He then suggested a "treatment". So he had the cashier show me what it would include and how much everything will be. It was a hefty amount but its for part of the family so I didn't hesitate. They took my dog to the back to get a sample of the infected skin and to take a look under the microscope. Once he got back he told us what the dog might have and how to treat him. He gave us antibiotics, a medicated shampoo, and a spray for his the affected areas. Once we left we got home and started treatment right away and continued. We went on with the treatment for about 3 weeks and our dog just got worse. He barely has any hair now and his skin looks worse. My mom started reading on the remedies they gave us and found the same thing at other stores for stupid cheap, when I say that I mean a term spray that was almost fifty dollars for seven. I kept getting very anxious about the dog and to this day he keeps on getting worse. I won't ever be going back here and if you really love your pet and want them to get good medical attention that ACTUALLY WORKS and SHOWS find another place. read more

I never took the time to find a new vet, so I kept going to this place - we took one of our dogs on a monthly basis for a shot, and I dealt with them for prescriptions for that same dog. We'll call her "Dog 3." My husband and I always had to check what we were billed and I usually had to remind/argue with them over the price of the prescriptions. I can get them online for much cheaper - but Dr. Greg prefers you buy from him. Yeah, but the prices change and they are DOUBLE what I can pay online from reputable pet pharmacies. I will say that they always ended up matching the price I could get elsewhere. So, we just kept going there... In February 2014, Dog 1, my old boy of 13 years, started breathing oddly on occasion. It got serious and I read online that it could be congestive heart failure. I called the clinic and they were able to get Dog 1 in on the same day! Whew! So we got there and they took Dog 1 in right away - he was in serious condition. Then Dr. Greg called us in to an exam room (my sister was with me). He said Dog 1 was very sick and the techs were giving him O2 and getting him stable - and he left saying he would now be able to go check on him. He was gone a short while. Then he came back with the "financial breakdown" as they usually do, so that you know what you're up against and can make choices for what you can afford, etc. But before he talked about it...he asked..."Did you write a bad review on Yelp?" Me - "Uhhhhh...wut?" Him - "You said that you pay too much, we nickel and dime you, and you want to find another vet." Me - "Oh...yes...we do have to watch what the front office charges us. We have definitely felt nickel and dimed...yes..." In my head I'm thinking - Wait, what does that have to do with the price of dog care in China? Wait, you HAVE MY DOG!! Do I need to leave? Should I just ask for my dog? Will he let me have him back? Will he be vengeful? Oh this is...what...is...he....talking about.... Because while I'm freaking out trying to remember what I wrote and freaking out about my sick dog, I realize he is saying all of this: "You think you pay too much? Do you know who I am? Do you know what degrees I HAVE? You can find another vet but you won't find a better vet. I AM THE BEST VET IN THIS VALLEY! I have degrees in BLAH BLAH BLAH and I go to BLAH BLAH conferences and I have studied BLAH BLAH. (He is shaking with fury and poking his finger to his head over and over and veins are popping out all over his head and neck.) You are paying for the best, most educated, blah blah, you are getting what you pay for - the best! Do you know what that means? Not just everyone...blah blah blah angry words blah blah on and on." I did not respond. I sat in stunned silence trying to decide if I could run and find my dog in the back and rescue him or demand that he be brought to me or just what? Suddenly, Dr. Greg calmed down and began explaining his recommendations for immediate diagnostics and care. He was still shaking with fury, the paper in his hand trembled as he spoke. He did get one or two more digs in about the costs, asking about being nickel and dimed, etc. After that...I could tell you about the details of each of the next conversations over the next 8 hours but suffice it to say - my dog got the best care that day. Dr. Greg gave me a few more weeks with my sweet old boy, Dog 1. He did chastise me for not bringing him in for yearly check ups where he might have caught the problem earlier and disclaimed any ability to make things better at such a late point. I totally understand why he would say that and he was right, of course. He gave me choices and made sound recommendations. He prescribed medications, he gave advice. Over the next few days, he called to check on Dog 1 who was doing spectacularly well on his medications. Nevertheless, the outcome was fait accompli. My very good dog died on March 5th. Lancaster Pet Clinic handled that for us in a kind and thoughtful way, too. So on the one hand - I am grateful for the compassion and care given to my very good dog. On the other hand, I have never, ever, encountered such an unprofessional and offensive outburst as the one I witnessed from Dr. Greg because of a YELP REVIEW. A review, by the way, in which I never cast aspersions on or questioned his care or his intelligence or his mothereffing education. Moral of the story - Part 1. Dr. Greg reads the Yelp reviews but has no idea how to handle them in a professional, constructive way that might benefit him and his business. Part 2. Dr. Greg is a very good vet, and probably a very good person. Part 3. His office "computer" makes up fees and prices or something, so watch your bill. The End. During the roughest of times for our family, Dr Gallegos and his staff were the ultimate in caring professionals. As Dr Gallegos worked diligently to heal our family dog his entire staff worked just as hard to explain to us the procedures. There was no charge that I questioned on the bill. The quality of care given far exceeded the charges for his care. Over a period of four days the staff was attentive and kind to Hägen. He was comforted and well taken care of. As we all worked together to find a solution for him, communication was clear and concise. Thank you Dr Gallegos. I love this place. This is the only vet I've taken my two dogs to. They know me and them so well. They love seeing them when I come in, they are very popular for being a super loving friendly 75lb German Shepherd and a huge fluffy 100lb long coat Akita. Dr Greg is amazing and takes care of us. He handles all concerns. The ladies up front is always so welcoming and friendly. I've never had a problem. Yes it's a tad pricey but what bet isn't... Dr Greg and Dr. Leigh are some of the nicest people you could ever meet, and if you don't believe me, there are plenty of very happy customers (both furry and human-y) in their waiting room. My beloved St. Bernard had a seizure yesterday, and of course the first place we think to take him is to Lancaster Pet Clinic. They tell us to bring him in around 330, which I really appreciated. Dr. Greg sat with us for about thirty minutes explaining seizures, even relating us to his own personal furbaby who has them as well. I really appreciated his time and compassion in a moment of sheer terror when I thought there was something wrong with the baby! Their office is gorgeous, and they have the animals secluded to keep them separate in case of emergencies. He definitely took his time to answer any and all questions we had about our dog. I can not say enough nice things about these vets. It is so nice to find two people who love their craft, and are good at what they do. This was the first visit to any vet for both my cat and I. We were greated by Andrea, who was very kind and understanding. I felt that we had come to the right place. Dr. Gallegos was amazing. My cat, Dawn, doesn't like people, she tolerates me because I feed her. But the doctor had her at ease from the start. After a very short time, they had pinpointed the problem, Dawn is now on the road to recovery, and I am a happy cat owner. Overcharged me for minimal services that did not resolve the medical issue. On top of that, he never told me what was actually wrong with my cat. Just sent me home with a $200 dollar vet bill, for 1 min check-up, an x-ray, and some probiotic treats. No urine sample! About a week later I had to rush him to the ER, and there they told me what was really going on. My cat had to be hospitalized for 2 nights, which was pricey, and I can't help but think that if I would have known the problem earlier, I could have curbed it before it got this serious, saving me A LOT of money, time, and stress. I'm new to the area and just happened to find this place because it was nearby. I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Greg. My 65lb American bulldog mix is one of the most nervous dogs I've ever met. He's scared of everything, and because of his size that can be very intimidating to people. We've always seemed to have vets who want to rush in and out and that makes my dog uncomfortable. He needs time to warm up to someone. Dr. Greg had no problem with that, took his time, let my dog feel him out first, and my dog ended up completely comfortable the entire time! That's a first for him. I also loved that they let him stay in the room when they administered his shots because of his nervousness. (With my other dog, she went to a different room. She, however, isn't nervous.) The staff gets all of my praises as well. I mentioned that my dogs are grain free (one of the two has an allergy) and they were so conscious about what treats they offered. They're always so nice to me and to my pups. I especially loved that they called me to check on one of my female dog's conditions after she had been there a week earlier for a check up. It just showed me that they care about my fur babies. As long as I'm in the AV I won't go anywhere else! read more

I absolutely recommend this clinic, because i know for sure that my dog gets the best care possible out here. Dr Greg (and the staff) is so sweet to my Nova-girl, always takes time to pet her before talking about the reason of our visit. He explains everything in normal language, no words that you need to Google before knowing what he is talking about. Nova gets her shots here, got her microchip here, had to undergo surgery (and then they cleaned her teeth for free!!) once and we come here for the "regular" visits. I always leave this place knowing that Nova will be alright, and that is the best feeling i could ask for. They're not cheap, but i think she's more than worth it! read more

Lancaster Pet Clinic has been our primary vet for my two dogs. They are fantastic! My staffie is terrified of the vet and had been traumatized by a vet experience in Northern California when he was a puppy. He barks, freaks out, and tries to act as scary as possible hoping I'll turn around and take him home. Dr Greg and his lovely staff have gone above and beyond with him, being kind and gentle even as my dog looses his mind and barks nonstop. Lancaster Pet Clinic has vaccinated my dogs, neutered my Rottweiler, provided emergency visits when dogs have needed antibiotics, and removed several cysts/tumors from my staffie. Their prices are incredibly reasonable, and the staff have always been great with me and my difficult dogs. read more
