If all you need is shots for your pet they are good at that, but anything else they are truly awful. They will do any unnecessary procedure just to get more money out of you. My cat was sick in it costs almost $5000.00 before I went to another vet for help with him. My male dog, which is a Shepard poodle mix just under 30 pounds, went there to be fixed. he was still a puppy then. The vet was convinced he was a rottweiler mix and muzzled him. It was unreal. I told him he had separation anxiety before I left him there and all he did was complain about how untrained he was and his behavior when I picked hm up. He was under a year old. I took my male dog there on a different occasion when he injured his hind leg. The vet barely examined him before telling me he would need a pricey surgery,. Oh, and he had him muzzled for the examine even though he was not showing any signs of aggression. The vet also talks down to you and acts like you can't understand anything. I think it's his way of making you doubt yourself to get more money from you. That was the last straw. I now take all my pets to the Antelope Calley Animal Hospital on N. All their vets are great. Regarding my injured dogs hind leg. they said to just keep on eye on it, because he wasn't acting like it bothered him. he woudl just limp on it occasionally. His leg is now perfect and without the pricey surgery. I will never got o The Lancaster Pet Clinic again. read more

First off all this so called vet has anger issues and can't control his temper with customers. Instead of solving your pet's problem with you, he gets mad and yells at you, blaming his failures on you. It's his way or no way which is very annoying. He treats his customers with no respect as if you where an animal. So if treats his customers bad, then how do you think he we'll treat pet. read more

We love our furries so much, we would not go any where else! The staff and doctors are so kind, companionate and knowledgeable, we know they will get the best care available. We have recently acquired a small abandoned kitten, with their care and concern for little Winky was amazing. They removed her eye, which is the reason the mother cat had abandoned her to start with and is just a loveable little kitten. First time here and couldn't be happier with the care my little girl received. Front office staff was very nice and the nurse asked a bunch of questions and was very informative. We had been to Smiths prior to this and they seemed more concerned with getting us back in for more tests and more money. We had to wait 20 minutes once in the exam room but to see how busy they were and how much time the Dr. spent with us it was worth it. He took his time and really checked her out. She has a sinus infection we think and he gave us meds for 3 weeks but wants us to call and update with him in a week. He discussed other options if this didn't work but he seemed more concerned with my dog than with the money. He was very gentle with her and even though she didn't like what he was doing she seemed ok with him. We have 3 other dogs and will definitely be back. This place was fantastic! read more

All the office people are great and Dr. Greg is really nice and patient with all the questions we had since it was our first time in a long time we had to go to a veterinarian. New to the area and trying to find a vet for my pup. Saw the reviews and read the comments thought okay seems like a winner. Let me just this, based off of the interaction over the phone with the receptionist....horrible experience!! Tried to schedule an appointment for tomorrow placed on hold while she checked when I was finally answered. It was not the original person who answered. The new lady seemed short and annoyed. Asked what I wanted, I told her I was just trying to schedule and appointment for a check up for Saturday. She asked for what day after I just told her. So I told her and cut me off and we don't. Their prices might be a little higher than other vet clinics but the service and care you get from the husband and wife team and staff make up for it. Both Dr. Greg and Dr. Leigh have always treated me, my concerns, and most importantly my babies with respect, compassion and care in every visit. The staff has always been helpful and sweet around my Rottweilers not fearful or judgmental. They return phone calls and give answers or advice regarding your pets issues and don't try to to get you to come in just for your money as I've encountered with other vet offices. read more

This clinic only has one veterinarian that is spread way too thin. On my first appointment, the vet came in 30 minutes late and said he might have to step out for a few to "finish up a euthanization." HUH!?!? It seems incredibly insensitive for the doctor to be running in and out of the room while a family is facing all of the sadness of putting down a loved pet. Throughout the appointment the vet was clearly in a hurry and kept saying "I'll get back to you about that" every time I asked him a question. 5 days and 3 phone calls later, I finally got the vet on the phone and he advised he hadn't taken the time to look into my pets case yet. I made another appointment and encountered the same hurried behavior making it clear that this is vet's mo. I won't be returning again. read more

I love Dr. Greg Gallegos and his staff. Everyone is efficient, considerate and kind. I recently had to put my dog down and they were very compassionate, considerate, and just all around kind. They use a company called Peaceful Paws to handle the cremation and I cannot say enough good things about the beautiful package you receive in tribute of your beloved pet. This may not be a typical review due to the circumstances, but my family and I wanted to sing the praises of Lancaster Pet Clinic. Just last week we had to have our beloved Lhasa-Poo put to sleep. She was fifteen years old and very ill. Needless to say, it was a very hard decision to make because she was truly a member of our family. The staff here made the process as smooth and graceful as it could be, under the sad circumstances. Both the vet tech and the vet were incredibly sensitive and kind. I'm so glad we went to them to help us during this difficult time. I can only imagine how wonderful they must be with their regular visitors. Today we received the sweetest condolence card, with a remembrance of our dog Daisy. It truly touched my heart. read more

We have been customers of Lancaster Pet Clinic for several years. Always very caring and professional. The prices are not cheap but no issues with the care. Just had to put our dog to sleep and they were so patient and careful and let us take all the time we needed. They gave us a beautiful poem about the passing of our pet. The cost for our large dog was $305 for the euthanasia which included the exam (although in our case was just some questions since our dog's age and condition did not warrant a physical) and cremation. I was quoted the same price if we took her body for burial but there was a separate itemized cost listed for cremation so you may be able to argue that cost if you take the body. We opted to pay an extra $150 to have the ashes returned in a nice box. They helped make a sad situation much better than it might have been. I would recommend their services highly. Wanted to edit this with an update. Later in the day we received a bouquet of flowers and a condolence card from the staff. Amazing! read more

We have been to numerous vet clinics in the AV as we have lived here for 25 years. I've had vets just order things and tell me it needed doing, or they would be in and out so fast I had no chance to ask questions, or they would stare their nose down at me claiming the animal's injury or illness was somehow my fault (which it wasn't, but it intimidated me into doing and paying more when I would have questioned it first). I always dreaded going to the vet... Dr Greg and Dr Leigh are totally opposite. Dr Greg sat on the exam table and talked with me and my children for almost 30 minutes during our first visit and answered every question I had and then some. I got a thorough education on multiple issues - including not allowing our dogs to lick the kids or fish they catch from a local lake because of parasites that can kill the dog! Never heard that from any other vet. Their office is very clean, spotless! Very comfortable, calm and the staff are wonderful and kind. quick and thorough. They take care of the owners as much as they do the animals. Prices are good, less than some places and they don't pressure you to do more than is needed and leave the choice up to you for optional things instead of pressuring you into them. They also allow you to pick up repeat medications (our dog gets ear infections from yeast and I can pick up ear drops) without an appointment which adds cost to the whole thing. The vets are also involved with Boy Scouts and Dr Leigh helps scouts earn several merit badges as merit badge counselor (including the Veterinarian Merit Badge). Very committed to their community and very dedicated to helping the owners as much as the pets. I wish they were my neighbors - they are awesome!!! read more

It's pricy. I'm sure they recommended things that weren't necessary.... But what vet, doctor, dentist, etc doesn't do this? Once you get over the fact that healthcare costs money you'd rather not spend, you'll realize that the convenient location and staff are worth it. I had no problem getting appointments quickly and at convenient times. I really enjoyed all the staff I came in contact with. The doctor actually spent way more time than I expected with us, pulling out medical books/charts to better explain his concerns with my dog. I didn't wait to be seen at all, and when they made appointments for follow up care, they allowed me to choose to be a "double booked appointment" so I could fit it into my schedule, and even then I didn't wait very long. I had a good experience, and comparing it to the many other places I've been, I really can't complain. read more

I was looking through some of my other reviews and doing some updates and realized that I haven't done an update for Dr. Greg in a couple of years - shame on me! I really cannot say enough about the care that our pets get at Lancaster Pet Clinic. We lived in the Antelope Valley for 8 years before we began full time RVing and Dr. Greg was the only vet we would take our animals to... and we still do. We tried other vets in the AV in an emergency when Dr. Greg wasn't available (this was before he opened the Lancaster Pet Clinic and was at another AV clinic) and were never impressed. We found them to be rude, overpriced and lacking in genuinely caring about animals - they were there for the $$. We have had to visit vets in other parts of the country but Mouse and Hamlet go to Dr. Greg when we are back in California for work. Last summer we were staying 60 miles outside the AV but we made several trips to Dr. Greg's office because we trust him with our family friends. Dr. Greg found a lump on our cat, Mouse, last year, that another vet had overlooked a couple of months earlier. She had to stay some extra days after her surgery and the entire staff made it a point to let her know she was loved even when she talked nasty to them :). The staff at Lancaster Pet Clinic love what they do - caring for animals. It shows in everything that they do. I wish they could travel with us so Hamlet and Mouse would always have the very best care. Their prices are super reasonable as well! If you care about your pets and they are part of your family then take them to Dr. Greg where they will get the best care possible in a friendly and caring environment. Came here to get my dog her vaccinations. Prices are very reasonable. You can do vaccinations, and pay $8 instead of a full office visit fee. This was awesome. However, I did find out later that there was some information that would have been useful that they didn't proffer. Such as, rattlesnake shots don't apply to the Mojave green. Would have been nice to know this, since this is the most common rattlesnake in the area. They also didn't offer me the vaccine for the most common type of Parvo locally. That's kind of uncool. But, since the price is pretty good, and now I know I need to educate myself before going, I will likely continue to visit this clinic. The employees are very nice, it's notably clean, convenient and reasonably quick. read more
