We had to have our precious 15? year old rescue beagle, of 14 years, assisted to the rainbow bridge. We had never been to this veterinary office. Sadly, our boy needed a boost. We tried to let him remain at home, but, were unable to get an in home appointment that day. Dr. Bloom, and amazing staff, treated us with understanding and incredible kindness. This is the worst day for any pet parent. we opted for individual cremation. when his earthly remains came back, we got a sweet call letting us know that we could bring our boy home. The office sent us a sweet card with our boy's paw print and a sympathy card, personally signed. We will be returning to this office with our other pets for all of our needs. We've been going to Quartz Hill Vet Clinic for almost 25 years. Our pets have always been treated with kindness and compassion. We were sorry to see Dr. Debbie go, and heartbroken over the loss of Dr. Chris. We weren't sure what our experience would be there moving forward. Then, the unthinkable happened. Our beloved beagle, Ruby was diagnosed with lymphoma. Dr. Bloom was absolutely amazing. She treated us as partners in our dog's cancer journey, listened to all of our concerns, entertained our endless 'googling' for anything that might help prolong her quality of life and time with us. In the end, we lost the battle, and had to make the impossible decision to end her life compassionately, rather than continue to let her suffer. As hard as this was, Dr. Bloom and the whole staff of QHVC helped to make the decision easier, and were so kind and compassionate. I just can't say enough about how wonderful they are. Sadly, this veterinary office has gone downhill since the tragic loss of Dr. Chris Biggerstaff. His current wife is rude and dismissed my concerns over their outrageous pricing for toenail clips for 3 of my dogs. I missed a nueter appt due to my vehicle being stolen. I called after the appointment to apologize that I had no transportation due to its theft that day. I was told "no problem, we are so sorry." I was also told I missed an appointment 2 years ago. My daughter made that appointment and I was not aware of it. 22 years of dedication to Quartz Hill Veterinary? The current wife was so uncaring and rude.... Since I have been a client for 22 years, I thought nothing of the missed appointment. I had 3 of my beloved pets cremated through their services in the 3 months before. Imagine my surprise when I was told I had to pay $50 per pet as a deposit for a nail clipping. And that there is now a $65 fee for the Vet Tech PER DOG? WHAT? I feel terrible that Dr. Debbie now has to read about the poor customer service by the new owner. The staff was wonderful as usual. Today is a sad day. read more

Normally don't post yelp reviews unless I need to. So my 4yo cat last year had an issue and we had to take him to the Palmdale vet hospital since qh vet and a few other vets were not able to see him. Palmdale vet gave him several medications and it worked and he got better. Last week we had the same issue but worse. Decided to take him to his primary vet place which was qh vet. They were able to see him same day and early since it was getting to be a serious situation. Dr. Bloom came in talked to me what needed to be done. The price for it all came out to over a grand. He also needed to stay the night (which come to find out if no one is there and the pet is alone it's against the law because the animal could die). I hated how it would he would be ready at the end of day to next morning to noon to 4pm. I hated how I always had to pry answers out of that doctor or the vet techs. I always had to call back to get more information out. The doctor barely gave us the time of day and it was mainly techs giving relayed information to us. I was shocked I didn't get any after care instructions or medication for my cat (like last year from Palmdale vet). I even asked when picking up my cat if there was any meds vet tech relayed that there wasn't any. Following week same issue happens again. I hated how terrible my pet and me were treated at qh vet so I took him else where to get the proper care and treatment done. This is a very unfortunate review to have to leave. We have been taking our dogs to Dr Chris for care since 2014 & I can honestly say that having him as a Veterinarian was awesome. He was always extremely friendly, very open to answering questions and attentive to our dogs needs and care. His office staff was normally friendly and seemed to follow in his direction. However, today our pets were banned from the clinic and told to seek our veterinary care elsewhere. Our 8yo Schnauzer who has suffered from allergies her entire life and been receiving care from Quartz Hill Veterinary Clinic & Dr Chris for 8 years was scheduled for an appointment. Every visit that either of our dogs have ever had over the course of 8 years, they have been checked in, weighed then taken to a room to have their medication or care administered. So today during her appointment, the office was busy which is relatively normal. However, our dog was weighed in and sent back to the waiting room. While in the waiting room we were given a form to sign. While signing the single form, the tech offered to hold our dog while we signed a single form. The tech did not leave with our dog as the form was being signed. After signing the form, the dog was handed back to us and we were asked to make payment. It was then brought into question when our dog's medication was going to be administered to which they replied "we've already given it to her when you were signing the form". First off, care for our dogs at this clinic has never ever been given in the waiting area. Nor in the last 8 years of taking our pets to this clinic have we ever seen any sort of care given to any animal in the waiting area. The bill was then paid and we brought our dog home. In the many many years that our dog has received this medication, she has always had the same reaction after receiving her shot. She would come home instantly feeling better, drink lots of water and go to sleep. After this visit, our dog is still scratching and biting at her skin, will not eat or drink and has no signs of improvement. So a call was placed to the clinic to question first why the service was given in the waiting area around other animals and clients. Second since we did not see her shot administered and she was acting differently from all the other times over the course of 8 years of receiving this injection what do we do if the "treatment that was supposedly given in the waiting area" doesn't work? It was expressed to me that the medication was administered in the waiting area so that "Our time" wasn't wasted wait for a room and that it's "not healthy for our dog to be taken to the back while another animal is receiving Anesthesia". Which is odd because other animals were being taken to the back for their care at this time. When it was posed to the office manager that from a customer service standpoint that should have been relayed at the time of the visit and it was not. She agreed, but the background audience seemed to be offended. After a brief break in silence that was obviously a muted call, the conversation pivoted to our attitude in questioning whether or not care was given. After a small back and forth about customer service and how after 8 years we were simply questioning whether the medication was given because of where they supposedly gave care and that our dog was not responding as she normally does, we were told that we would be given a refund for the visit and that we could pick up our dog's records and get care elsewhere. After being a customer since 2014 and our dog receiving ever ounce of her care since we rescued her at 6 weeks, we find it extremely difficult to write this review. Again Dr Chis is an amazing Vet and honestly we felt lucky to have him care for our Dogs for so long. However, it's extremely obvious after 8 years that the front office staff struggle with the high volume and that customer service and communication are not important to how this business is run. We are just customers who care about our pets and the care they are receiving. Should we not be able to question that care in an extremely abnormal circumstance from what we're used to? Especially after our pet's normal post-visit behavior and reaction is different from that of 8 previous years? Extremely unfortunate. read more

Yesterday I called asking for an appointment because my dog didn't have anymore medication and said that we moved and we wouldn't be able to come back for a couple of weeks to possibly a month. Dr. Deb never had any problems giving us a prescription to last until the next appointment because she knew that we always came and we love our animals. When I called yesterday the lady on the phone was extremely rude and said no that they would not do that. Yes, our 10 years of customer relationship with this company to take care of our animals has now ended. We will NEVER go back. They told us to bring the dog in so we did the doctor saw the dog for about two minutes they said yeah giving her three shots could make her sick and the clinic charged me $104 for the visit I asked why am I being charged if they told my dog in so they can look at it real quick they said oh well we gotta pay for the doctors time I felt this was just the money grab. I've be going here for over 20 years and this place used to be the best but lately it seems they're only about money and don't care about anything else Dr Chris is an amazing vet, and an even better surgeon. My most recent experience here was unbelievable! I was told to come back because two days after my dog got spayed her incision opened up and was bleeding all over the place, I called to get it closed up and was given a hard time about getting her in, this was Friday around 2pm, the lady one the phone was incredibly rude and the lady straight out rudely said YOU KNOW YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO PAY FOR THAT. This is right after I just payed around 700 dollars for the spay. And it turned out that the lady who was so rude happened to be Dr. Chris's wife crazy how money has ruined this practice this is my fifth dog I've regularly bought here over 20+years and 2 ACL Surgeries fixed all five I used to recommend this place to everyone but now I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Kicking your patients out because they disagree with you is no way to run any business. Especially long time customers that have contributed GREATLY to keeping the lights on. read more

So my Boxer has been going to Dr Cris for over A year since our family vet retired and has even had a surgery. He has breathing problems and I couldn't get him seen for 2 weeks - they told me to go to the emergency clinic if things get worse. Well they did and I took him to AV Vet emergency where after 8 hours he was diagnosed with extreme pneumonia and possible cancer. I called QH Vet today because my boxer couldn't breath when lying down or standing up and was in clear distress. He had been on meds for a week - I asked if they would do an X-ray to see if the pnemonia was worse I was told they didn't have time. How can they be so heartless when he may be dying. I will never come here again. My dog has epilepsy and was prescribed a very important medication that he must take every day. It was time for refill, we made the call the day before, and the office told me come in tomorrow morning at 11AM to pick up the prescription. When we went to pick it up they said the doctor still has to sign off on the prescription, which was weird, and that the doctor is not in right now, they'll be back at 3PM. But if my dog doesn't receive that medication in time then he starts having seizures, and by the time the doctor came in my dog already had two seizures. Once we got the prescription at 3PM, the doctor said this will be the last time they give us this prescription. When I asked for the reason why, they said they spoke to my son about it. Then I find out from my son, that apparently we were rude to staff and that's the reason why, which is false because any time I went there I was very polite and everything was good, and prior to this they were never late with prescriptions. It was just that day when they said the doctor was gonna be late, we were trying to plead with them to please let us have the prescription before my dog starts having seizures. Along with that, my dog's food is also a special type of dog food because he has allergies as well. One week after the prescription problem, my son tries to order the dog food online, and it turns out that the doctor put a stop to us being able to order the special dog food as well. This was the worst experience ever, these people do not care about animals at all. The doctor is supposed to really care about animals, especially ones that are sick, and epilepsy is very severe, but it turns out they are very indifferent to animals well-being and mislead pet owners. read more

My cat would have died by then, our dog with a heart problem has a new symptom that may be urgent. It is not like making an appointment for shot, we are concerned about our loved family members.
