Called service, very pleasant person answered.. I had called about running the code and giving me an estimate to repair my LR4 parking brake... while I am experienced with the expensive nature of Land Rovers (had one since 2011) I was informed that basically running the code and giving me an estimate was $275 and that would not be applied to the repair (this was the unexpected part)... so the 15 minutes it takes to run the code and another 15 to look up the repair profile delivers a hourly shop rate of $550... breath taking.. I normally try to go to factory trained techs but since they are the only factory source in the Reno area I think it's time to look for a local shop that specializes in British cars (yes, I know it's not anymore).. read more

I bought my defender brand new in Silicon Valley and needed some answers on what tire I originally had and she dismissed me, was condescending and sounded like it was not something she wanted to help with. I recently purchase a Tesla Model S from JLR Reno and would like to share my experience. I first contacted them via their website and Van reached out within a day. This was one of the few dealers that respectfully answered questions I had instead of overlooking half of them to ask other unnecessary questions. We had many questions but Van followed up multiple times in a timely manner. He also helped us with a finalized cost estimate prior to closing so we could estimate financing etc (no random added fees at all). When we drove to Reno we had to drop off our car at the airport and Nico helped pick us up right away. He was very friendly and helpful to answer our questions. Did not feel pushy at all. The service was also much better than we had expected, I felt every person in the dealership was friendly, sincere, and most importantly transparent. My Issue with 2023 Land Rover was "Battery Low Start Engine" light that came on each time I prepared to drive. My car was under warranty and I explained to the Reno dealership the problem. I was told it would take 2 days to correct and 2 weeks later I finally received my car back. However, the issue is the very same "Battery Low Start Engine" when entering car. I checked the paperwork I was given and there is no mention of my complaint being repaired. There is a great number of other items that were repaired or replaced that were never an issue to begin with so I am wondering if these indeed needed to be so-called "fixed" or were they just done to collect from the warranty department. I purchased a 2021 Land Rover and current Land Rover at the Rocklin Land Rover dealership due to lesser price than Reno dealership and once had the 2021 car serviced at Rocklin with NO problems. I am very skeptical of the service department at Reno and will not be recommending this dealership. Yes, all the personnel were very polite but MY CAR STILL HAS THE SAME ISSUE THAT I SENT IT IN FOR. My headlight assembly went out on my 2020 Land Rover and I had the part ordered at the usual dealership I go to, but that part was back ordered for 2 months, so I took a chance of going to the LR dealership in Reno, as I was up there for work. I arrived at 7:30am, when the service dept opened and was greeted by Zoe. I checked to see if they had the part in stock and to my surprise they had one in stock. Zoe told me they could have the car done by the end of the day; unfortunately I needed to get back on the road to SF by noon. She said she'd see what she could do, as the service dept was swamped, but no promises... She arranged a Lyft ride for me to go back to my hotel. As I pondered how I'd tell my wife I might be late getting home for her brother's bday party, Zoe called me at 11am to tell me the car was done! She arranged another Lyft ride to bring me back to the dealership and I was out of there by 11:25am. Zoe was awesome! Had to wait a few weeks for a routine maintenance. (I think they only take a few a day) my appointment was at 10:00, I got there 5 minutes early. Zoe helped me right away. There was a minor issue with the warranty on the vehicle but after a short call to the warranty advisor this was fixed. I was told the car would be ready at 2:00 and was offered a ride back and forth to the dealership to and from any nearby location. At first I declined the offer but after an hour of trying to work on the wifi at the dealership I deceive to go get food and try my luck at nearby coffee shop. The internet there was even worst . By the time I finished my food I got a text back from Zoe that the car is ready. A whole hour early (1:00pm) so I got a ride back for free. 10 minutes later I was at the dealership and 5 minutes later I was on my way back home. read more

WORST SERVICE of any dealership EVER! This TERRIBLE service department is reason enough to NEVER BUY A LAND ROVER if you live in RENO!!! THREE, yes 3 TERRIBLE experiences with the service department. They have a deadly mix of incompetence and arrogance that amounts to you losing money, your car never getting fixed, and every time feeling underappreciated and mistreated. I was so excited to have purchased my wife a sparkling White Range Rover Sport (not from there) and boy it is just AWFUL every time we have to interact with them. Case in point-- windshield wiper fluid indicator always on, even when you fill it. It goes on after 1-2 uses. I took it twice to tell them it was leaking. Every time they kept it for 2-3 days with no loaner and called me and said its not leaking. I told them I've gone through 10 gallons in a month, it HAS to be! So he says "Do you go to a surgeon and tell him you have appendicitis?" What?????? Well to the arrogant incompetent service manager who told me that, I finally found British 4x4 of Reno (thank god!), they actually LOOKED at it, lifted the car, removed the panels and found GALLONS of pooled fluid and blue panels from a leaky fluid line. All they had to do was actually LOOK!!! So, summary: 1) NEVER EVER, EVEN in under DIRE CIRCUMSTANCES TAKE YOUR CAR/TRUCK HERE 2) If you already own a Land Rover, go to British 4x4. You will find OUTSTANDING service, kindness, humility and leave with a smile every time. I'm not even kidding. Try it out. This place is an absolute joke and no one there takes accountability. Last August I purchased a new Land Rover from this dealership. The sales rep to see is Kyle Nielsen!! He's awesome. We live in Palomino Valley and he made this hassle free and he is amazing and loves what he does! I wouldn't be surprised if he's the manager by now! Ha! I contacted the dealership three times about front and rear brakes for my 2016 Range Rover. It has been over two weeks since my first contact and over a week since the last and no response whatsoever. Contacted Jenn twice and even filed out the service department form for an estimate. I contacted a local German auto service and repair shop overnight (they don't even advertise that they fix Land Rovers) and they got back to me with an exact quote and their availability to do the job before they even opened. Horrible Service Department. I took my Discovery in (12,000 miles) with a leaking windshield - not a dripping windshield - full on water pouring in. They said the windshield is backordered and would not give me a loaner or an approximate date for repair. Sean's words were "your car is perfectly safe to drive". I own a $75,000 vehicle that can not be driven or parked in inclement weather (it's November). I called Rocklin. They have a customer with the same issue. They gave her a loaner and the date the windshield is expected to be shipped from the UK. *previous visit: tire rotation - When I made the appt., they said 1 hour. When I dropped it off they said 2. When I showed up after 2, I had to beg. The rotation was done in 3 hours for $100!!! (Tires were an upgrade that I purchased from this dealership.) read more

We have had the worst service here! Where do I start? First, we have had to take our Range Rover in numerous times to get the same issues fixed; they charged us twice for a part, and it took forever to get refunded for the overcharge; they scratched the bumper, so they had to repair that; and, one time, they told us the Rover was fixed (which it wasn't), but when we picked it up there was a part missing on the Rover (so they had to order that). I was visiting Tahoe for a 1-week vacation driving about 500 miles from Orange County. Halfway on my way to the mountains my Land Rover Velar started to lose power and I decided to pull it over. When I did that, the engine didn't want to start. After a few tentative attempts, it started and I made Tahoe but with a "check the engine" lamp in my dash. I left a message on Sunday to JLR Reno to check if there were any openings on Monday so they could see my vehicle. Promptly on Monday at 7:30 a.m. I got a call from Michael Troedel saying they were full for the week, but they could happily do a diagnosis so I could have more peace of mind during my stay and drive safely back home. I got there at 9:30 a.m. and Mike immediately greeted me with cold water, took the car for diagnosis and paid me a Lyft ride to a nearby Enterprise where I had a rental with a discounted rate arranged by him waiting for me as they were running out of loaners. I spent some hours having lunch and visiting downtown Reno and when I got back to JLR around 3 p.m., they not only identified the problem but also fixed it. What could have ruined my vacation was handled same day by Mike and the JLR Reno service team in matter of 6 hours! Just impressive. Mike is really true to Land Rover's values and I could not express enough my gratitude for what he did to me and my family. That's what I call customer-centered service. read more

I bought my car out of state, but I do all servicing/part replacements etc at this dealership and I've always loved it so much. The employees are wonderful, accommodating and friendly. Well, recently I had a phone call where I felt frustrated and defeated, and I'm blown away with what the manager Donny is willing to do to make things right for his customers. Although this particular issue was of no fault to the dealership particularly, Donny took this into his own hands, and completely comp'd the part I needed for my car after I experienced a series of unfortunate events with it. I was and still am speechless and in awe, it just truly goes to show that everything rises and falls on leadership, and the man running this dealership always does the right thing, goes above and beyond, truly LOVES people and what he does, and has his heart in the game. SCAMMERS, LIARS, OR BOTH? Purchased a USED (newer year)vehicle from Reno Land Rover 3 years ago. When I purchased the vehicle, I was persuaded to buy the ," ultimate " warranty they had because, they would take care of me, no matter what the problem and they have the best auto shop in the area because they work on Land Rover, which is one of the most technologically advanced vehicles. I was told if any problems arise to bring the vehicle back to them and they would take care of it for me, even if it had to be repaired somewhere else. I talked to my salesman, the general manager and the finance manager, and made sure this was correct because I did not want to purchase the vehicle here, then have to go somewhere else to deal with it. I was assured, no matter what happened to bring it back to Reno Land Rover, and they would take care of it for me. Fast forward to now my vehicle is having issues and I call into Reno Land Rover and I am instantly told to go somewhere else, that they don't work on used vehicles that are not Land Rover, all of their techs are only Land Rover certified. I spoke to multiple people at Reno Land Rover and none of them were any help. I spoke with the service manager Michael, explained my issues and concerns with him, and he said he would check to see if they could work on my vehicle or help me at all and he would call me right back. NEVER GOT A CALL BACK FROM HIM. I waited a week, then called back and spoke with the general manager Cory Hobson, and he was cordial, told me he was sorry that no one had gotten back to me, but unfortunately, "RENO, LAND ROVER DOES NOT WORK ON ANY OF THE USED VEHICLES THEY SELL, UNLESS IT IS LAND ROVER , our mechanics can only work on Land Rover, they wouldn't be able to even read the codes on that vehicle", I said, that's not what I was told when I purchased the vehicle and now you guys are offering zero help to me. He had nothing to say, except,"I am sorry, I can't help you. He is not the general manager I dealt with when purchasing the vehicle and stated he cannot help, what they told me three years ago. As I do understand, he cannot control what other people said I was also disappointed that he didn't offer any help at all. When you purchase a used vehicle with a warranty and have to take it to another dealership to be worked on, that dealership does not want to deal with you, they have made no money off of you, no money off of the warranty sale. That's why you will be sent to the very back of the line. I'm highly disappointed in the treatment I received from this dealership and will never go back. I will make sure to tell all of my clients, friends, enemies, and neighbors how this dealership has treated me. One sale can easily be over $100,000 at this dealership, why they would want to ruin their reputation and possibly lose customers is unfathomable. I had intended to return here and purchase a vehicle for my son who will soon be driving. I had taken him there two weeks ago to look around but now I wouldn't fathom buying anything from this dealership. I was trying to buy a car out of state and after doing a bunch of leg work taking time off work, getting pre-approved, setting up an inspection, looking at flights, etc they decide to sell the car to a local buyer with out any warning. The sales manager Micheal simply just leaves me an email stating they have "decided to move forward with a local buyer" instead with out any context or apology. After receiving this email I have tried calling, emailing, leaving voicemails, and multiple text messages to both Micheal and my salesman and have not heard back, the least they can do is acknowledge me after wasting all my time and not to mention the hard hit on my credit! Very unprofessional of them to back out of an agreed upon deal just because they can sell the vehicle a bit faster to someone else? I do NOT recommend Land Rover Reno. It's clear they are interested in selling cars, but they do not care about taking care of their customers, nor following through with their word. I leased a Range Rover Sport on Thanksgiving weekend, and traded in my Tesla. I was told by my salesman Mark Shepard and the General Manager that I would receive a check for the buyout of my Tesla trade-in (approximately $10,000) within 1 week of my purchase. It's been 2 months! And I still have not received my check. The most disconcerting part is that the sales person and the Land Rover Reno team have been non-responsive and giving me the runaround, literally saying "the check is in the mail" and "just keep checking your P.O. Box." Even after numerous calls, and texts, the response, after 2 months of waiting, was: "I will let my GM know because when it comes to sending out checks, the sales team has no power in the matter." My next step is to write a letter to Land Rover corporate and the CEO giving feedback of this terrible business practice.
