Decent float, stay away from Saturdays as they are packed with drunks, loud music, a heavy, HEAVY police presence, and it's packed. I mean some parts of the river we were tube to tube with other floaters. Maybe if we came on a weekday it would have been more pleasant. Tubes are 20$ and the shuttle ride is free now. We never paid any kind of deposit? :/ I saw a little girl find a big peice of glass where we got off the river to go to the shuttle. She thought it was a rare stone lol. Also the drunks here are plastered. I watched someone argue with his group of friends that bringing a glass bottle of tequila was a bad Idea as they decided to toss it in the river after killing it. We floated the Comal this past weekend and used Landa Falls twice. Yes, the cupholders in the tube were very useful. We didn't have to wait for the shuttle at the end. It seemed a little pricy, but no one in our group had floated the Comal previously and we didn't know what to expect. It did appear to be the longest float. Overall, I was pleased with the tube and the service. read more

Staff was friendly. Free parking-parking is across the street with a light however, but not a huge deal. Make sure you're aware of the river restrictions: no disposable containers so bring drinks in a Buccee's cup or something and food in a tupperware container of some sort. They have coolers for rent if you don't have one or bring one that is too big (16 quarts or less is the size restriction). This place does not offer rope or twine to tie the tubes together so bring something to do that if that's what you're group is wanting to do. The beginning of the float is pretty mellow...there are a couple of chutes/rapids after the first hour that are pretty fun and you could possibly get drenched so you really don't want a lot of extra stuff to keep up with anyway. I think this place is way overpriced, and next time I want to go to the Comal I will take my own tubes and park a car at the end to take us back after. It's way more economical than going to Landa Falls, and there's a free parking lot at the Landa Park river entrance anyway. It costs $25 up front for a bottomless tube ($30 for one with a bottom!) and you get $10 back when you return. I charged the initial amount to my card and the deposit was returned to me in cash, which I didn't like. The price said it included unlimited trips so if it felt too short (which it almost did) you could go again I think, but I didn't go more than once so I can't confirm that. They had a douche-y guy standing at the entrance and I don't know what the heck his job was but he wasn't doing it. He could have told us the lot was full but instead he just waved us on through and kept talking to the people standing outside the gate with him. Aside from that it wasn't totally terrible service, just a bunch of young kids who didn't really care what was going on, just that they were getting their jobs done. We went on a Saturday afternoon and we didn't actually have to wait too long in line. I did like the Comal, but that has nothing to do with Landa Falls. read more

Nothing but positive things to say about Landa Falls! My personal recommendation for floating ANYWHERE is to bring your own tubes. That way you never have to complain about not knowing what the tube would look like, fit like, etc. I used Landa Falls several times over the course of a year and had a great experience with them every time. I brought my own tube and cooler tube, and used them as my transportation back to the top. $10 isn't bad, especially if you go two or even three times in one day (which I did on a number of Fridays and Saturdays). As for the comments about it being a "bunch of kids" running the place... yeah... it's a tubing company. Did you expect 30's and 40's to drop their office jobs and come running? Not exactly 401k material here, guys; just sayin. It's the perfect place for high school and college kids to work, and the ones here typically do a great job; props to y'all! They're always helpful getting you through the line and into the river, and do a great job taking care of you when you haul your wet hiney out at the end. Prost! PS: Just got ready to submit this and saw the question asking "Good for kids?" My answer is "Yes, Landa Falls is great for kids. Our first time tubing the Comal as a family, and Landa Falls was great. Friendly staff who explained everything for us. We had a great time on the river, and the shuttle was waiting for us when we exited. The only downside was the parking and having to cross a busy street. read more

The complaints about the river seem to be due to City Rules and over crowding on Saturdays. Suggest you research city river rules and come on any day but Saturday and you will enjoy what nature has given us to enjoy. Landa Falls has always been my go to float. UPDATE: I was driving in the car with my 10 year old son (he was 8 when we floated the Comal) and he had just come back from Galveston fishing and going to the beach with his grandparents. Unsolicited, he told me how he didn't like going under water anymore b/c of the time we went floating and he got flipped off his float at the choke point I described above. I got pushed away from him and a friend had to hop out, fight his way upstream past the crowd, and pluck him out of the water. Not good times. Since then he hasn't really liked to go into the water and he will NOT go under the water anywhere outside our backyard pool. I'm a terrible parent. The Comal should be 13+ read more

Love Landa Falls! Parking is free, and although tubes are a bit pricey than others in the area, it's worth it! The lines are short and when you get out a shuttle is there for you, and if your looking a bit overheated or tipsy, they will gladly give you some water on the shuttle.. I am unsure if other places do this, but at LF they will gladly hold your car keys for you. (Really wish, we had known this prior our float- IF you lose your keys, the guys have a number for a locksmith and the company is great) read more

Loved it, I have road with Landa for two rides. The rides are 3 hours, 3-4 shooter slides, and the price is included with admission and tube, flat rate $22. I like how Landa holds your keys for you and makes the process really easy and smooth. Police all throughout river patrolling, able to drink while tubing and listen to music at a decent volume. I have a Lifeproof case so it made the experience even better. After the 3 hour ride, a bus picks you up and takes you back to Landa to receive your keys and head to your car. Also, FREE parking at this location. read more

Overall this is a great value for the longest float on the Comal River and I intend to keep returning. Both times I've visited, staff has been friendly, efficient and helpful. There's ample free parking a brief walk across Landa St. from the tubing company. Prices are reasonable ($20 during the week & $25 on weekend days & holidays) and you can bring your own tube M-F (except holidays) for $5 off.) Tubes with or without bottoms are the same price. I appreciate that the tubes are yellow vs. black ones that can get blazing hot. The daily fee includes unlimited float trips between 10am-5pm. Scenery abounds with a mix of wooded areas, waterfront homes, ducks and turtles. Also, the various tube chutes are quite fun. At float's end, the air-conditioned shuttle back was either already there or arrived quickly. It's not immediately obvious where pick-up is at the Riverbahn exit, but you go up a flight of stairs, cross the street, turn right and look for the sign for the shuttle. read more

I haven't floated many rivers but my first experience at Landa Falls was not great. My group and I were super prepped and hyped for our river float- mixed drinks in our bubba cups, cold beers for shotgun island, water bottles to rehydrate us, even sandwiches and chips to bring us back to life. I guess this isn't really Landa Falls' fault but patrons are no longer allowed to bring cans, bottles, plastic, or pretty much anything that creates litter. We had to carry our full cooler back to the car and purchase small bubba keg coolers from a man down the road and bring a limited amount of alcohol on the river. I wish their website had said something about these new rules. So many people were surprised and caught off guard when they saw the signs. Landa also doesn't sell ice or rope/twine to tie tubes together. They also charge an extra $2 on weekends. It's not a big deal but after we were hit with all these rules, $2 was just hitting the nail on the coffin. We chose Landa Falls because it was close to the Buccees but this wasn't a great experience. We still had a great time but all the problems were a huge inconvenience. Excellent place to tube! We got in at the first point in the river and the last place out. Easy to get back by shuttle and jump in the river again! Staff was wonderful! We lost our key in the river and they waited for us as we waited for the locksmith, even though it was hours after it closed. Even offered to take us to our hotel. Amazing service! read more

Do you want to be nickel and dimed? Do you want 20+ minutes shuttle waits while their competitor, Texas Tubes, has 3 shuttles come through to pick up passengers? Then Landa Falls is for you. I was told to be back at 5 for last put in. I get my group to hurry through the last part to make it to the pick up spot by 4:45, just to wait around for their shuttle. Once we finally arrived at their launch spot we are told we can't put back in, the time was 5:08. I ask for a manager so we can explain our predicament. I assumed it was an easy fix and we would be on our way. Plenty of time to make their last shuttle at 8 pm. 3 hours to float. Our first float took 2.5 hours at most. When the 18 year old sweetheart who we first spoke to went and grabbed her fellow 18 year old manager, he had a real tough guy, zero tolerance attitude to let us back in. Absolutely no leniency, even though it was their shuttle that took 25 minutes to get us and take us back. The excuse was that they haven't launched a tube in over an hour. I'm sorry, but it's not my fault you are slow on Labor Day! Every other tube rental was busy and launching, while handling their clients with grace and dignity while Landa Falls had to make up excuses so they wouldn't have to actually do work when the 7 to 8 o clock hour rolled around. To clarify the nickel and dime comment, they will not allow personal tubes on the weekend. However they will fill your personal tube for a small fee of $5 during the week. And will add an extra $2 for weekend and holiday use. Don't worry they will rent you coolers and tubes. But remember they are a struggling business so they will find their profit one way or another by over charging for service they will not fulfill. They've definitely lost future business with me. I would not recommend Landa Falls to anyone I respected. Just because they are furthest up the river should not play into your decision. It adds 15 minutes to you float but also a headache due to lack of customer service. read more

I totally like this! THREE hours float from start til end, if you come when they first open, you can go for another run. I didn't and couldnt get another run squeezed in. They stop picking yall up by 5. Im disappointed on that part, wait, that's not my most disappointed part, the restroom looked...scratch that, SMELLED like it hasn't been cleaned since 1950's. You could smell it all the way across the parking lot. Ugh! But if you went before you got there, then I give this 4 stars on the price and floating part. I definitely will use this again. read more

I had a great time at Landa Falls. I don't understand why everyone hates it. I went with my mom, dad, and younger brother who was 7 at the time. We went early August as an end-of-the-Summer trip to welcome the new school year. We stayed in a hotel on the edge of New Braunfels and it was very nice. We arrived around 12:30 at the parking lot to Landa Falls and they were about 3 other cars in the parking lot. It was pretty hot (about 93°F) and we coated on sunscreen. We changed in the bathroom they had in the creepy building that was in the parking lot. One word of advice: change BEFORE you get there in order to avoid the bathroom, as it was NASTY! There were a few college age guys working at the stand where you rent the tubes. They were nice and we got our tubes fairly quickly. It costs $15 for a normal tube and the same price for one with a bottom. The ones with a bottom are black and way hotter, and the 'bottom' is a sheet of grey plastic with elastic ties on the edges, so not very comfortable. You also have to pay a $10 deposit for each tube you rent, which is a little irritating, but as long as you return them you get your money back. They also offer rope to tie the tubes together. We rented 3 normal tubes for my mom, dad and me. My brother got a tube with a bottom. We entered the river, which was cool, and took a few minutes to get situated, but soon were enjoying it. Landa Falls is advertised as the longest ride on the river, and it is. It's about 3 hours, from start to finish. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the next rental entrance, which is nice, as it gives you time to situate in the river. Once more people enter the river, it gets slower. You come to a really fun tube chute about halfway through the river. It pushes you through, which is really fun, but if you don't want to, they is a place where you can get out and go around it. I almost drowned 3 times trying to get my family all together again, as we got separated by the tube chute. There is another small tube chute and the water is calm after that. We got off at the last public exit and were exhausted, but the shuttle back was very nice, and instead of a crappy bus, it was white and air-conditioned. It was really fun to see the bus driver tell off some drunk tourist who wanted to get on our shuttle though he had a different kind of tube. There were only a few other people on the shuttle, and the ride back was quick and relaxing. Had a great time, but if you get out and back into the water from your tube, reapply sunscreen, or you will get badly sunburned, like me. Overall, so fun. I am already planning a trip to go again this Summer. read more

I've got to say, Landa falls is by far the best tubing outfitter there is on the comal. I've been a loyal Landa Falls ridah for 4 years now and have experienced nothing less of outstanding customer service, great people, and luxurious tubing products. Those new yellow tubes are the bee's freaking knee's there like the cadilac of tubes with those kickass handles and cup holders. First time experiencing the river tubing...Sorry to say was very disappointed with the employees of the LANDA FALLS tubing business. We had brought our own tubes and needed them filled with air. Finding we had to pay $5.00 to fill, expensive!!! But did it anyway. We had three. They filled two including pillow BUT on the third they did not fill the pillow all the way. When asked if they could finish, mind you ALL 5 male employees are sitting on their butts doing nothing but complaining about some women boss not knowing anything, said that I should finish!!! REALLY!!! $5.00 and you can not finish a simple task...needless to say, will NOT GO BACK THERE!!! The male employees are lazy lazy lazy...the only one working was a young lady. Very nice and helpful. The one male employee looks you up and down like he is someone better...news flash kid grow up. I am 53 and I would think that the young employees should be able to finish doing what they are paid for. Other then the lazy male employees....the River was WONDERFUL. Will go back but not to LANDA FALLS. Can not stand lazy AND RUDE people!!!! When you do something for the first time and employees know this, you would think they would tell you where to get in, which way to go and anything else helpful, but all the male employees cared about was sitting on their buts and complaining about their very hard job and having to put up with a women boss...LOL... Great location, TERRIBLE service. The "manager" (old grumpy man who rudely yelled at my family and I to inform us he "owned the tubes" even though he was a manager) should not work there. He ripped the tubes from our hands and talked down to us as if we were his children. As a grown adult I don't think anybody deserves that sort of treatment. There are a ton of better options in the surrounding area than here and would definitely NOT RECOMMEND going here!! read more
