This shop had my son-in-laws Toyota Hylux Surf for 18 months. Did NOTHING to it in all that time. When my son-in-law told the shop he was going to take the vehicle elsewhere , suddenly is was completed. Problem is, is cost double what it should have. This shop used used parts, charging double what new ones would have cost. Did brake work that was NOT needed and NOT authorized. Changed BRAND NEW batteries, STILL UNDER WARRANTY , because the vehicle sat so long, without notifying my son-in-law and "misplacing" the old batteries, so he could not get them back. I had an FJ-60 that I was restoring as a side project and in the beginning of the project I looked around for a shop that specialized in the landcruiser business. Landcruiser NW is the place I stuck with because Matt, Matt and Tony are great guys that know their way around the shop! Not only were their prices 30% below what I expected they didn't charge me the storage fee while it was there, which other shops do. Every time I came in with a question they were more than willing to show me in my car where it was or how it was done. For some reason Toyota designed the new Tundras not to fit 35" tires. Well, Landcruiser NW remedied that problem! A body mount chop, weld a cover plate on and paint it and trim a bit of plastic. BOOM 35's are on and my truck looks and rides amazing. Landcruiser NW really impressed me with their knowledge, service, friendliness and value of work. After going to this shop a few times now I can say for sure these are good guys that know their stuff about landcruisers. I don't typically write reviews unless something exceptional happens and what happened last night was exactly that. Went to the shop to drop off the cruiser for some maintenance and my wife drove my other car to get us back home. When leaving, I discovered that my other car was overheating! I went back inside and the guys without hesitation came out to help. They stayed a good while after closing diagnosing the problem (on a non-landcruiser) and figuring out exactly how to deal with it. They not only know their stuff, but they are just good people. I don't trust the 1 star reviews on here...these guys have always been easy to contact, easy to work with, knowledgeable and nice. Even the most unstoppable rigs on earth sometimes need attention. And these are the guys you trust it to. They've worked on my FJ60 and an FZJ80 and mine are usually the most stock of anything at their shop; don't let that intimidate you. These guys know these trucks inside and out and that fact that they can modify or tweak them out to no end only means that a stock FJ of any year gets that much more attention. After significant delays (more than double the committed time) and 70% higher cost than original estimate (not including the payments for things I added), I received my FJ40 back. The conversion was from original motor to a 5.3 Litre GM. 2 fuel pumps later (wrong sized hoses used from fuel system), air compressor with one bolt holding it on, no new wiring harness (although, charged for one), Vintage Air system that only blows hot air, horn not working, etc - I've realized that not only were they slow, they weren't very diligent on my project. They seem like nice guys, but they dropped the ball on this one and I cannot recommend their work. read more

Exceptionally knowledgeable about Landcruiser products. This is not a typical car shop, and it's certainly not a dealership. I was interested to read the other reviews on Yelp; in particular wondering how all the positive reviews ended up getting pulled down by a few negative ones. In twenty years in automotive, I know that there will always be difficult experiences. Vehicles are emotive and people sometimes have trouble being level-headed about them. Landcruiser NW combines amazing technical knowledge and capability with an almost unbelievable level of friendliness and patience. Ask about the stories of the cars on their lot (mostly them being amazingly patient with customers that started something that won't be finished soon), or of all the customers that bring in non-Landcruiser product (apparently always people liking their service so much they won't go anywhere else); and you will start to understand why I feel so positively about this place and the people running it. After going to a couple garages to get my brakes fixed on my 1967 Toyota Stout with no luck at all, I found LCNW. Parts are almost impossible to find for my truck but these guys researched the parts for hours and final found them in Japan...which was pretty awesome. Wow. I thought I knew Cruisers. These guys are incredible. Not only were they able to diagnose and fix my nagging mystery oil leak (ended up just being a valve gasket), but they also addressed my slower than molasses passenger power window. If you are on a tight budget you may want to stick to DIY, but if you love your 80 like I do don't take it anywhere else. I will never visit the dealer again. read more

I bought a tired FJ60 and was lucky enough to find LCNW soon after. By the of my ownership of the truck, we had replaced nearly every original piece of equipment including a complete 2F engine rebuild and a new Toyota 5-speed installation. No matter how busy they were, Matt and Tony took time to answer my questions, or even made quick mechanical tweaks on the spot. They'll give you the straight scoop and direct you away from spending money if it's not necessary. The service may not be the fastest, but in my opinion it's the best. If you want McDonalds maintenance go elsewhere. Otherwise, choose LCNW, sit down and enjoy your steak. read more
