We had 1800 sg ft of wood flooring installed almost 7 years ago and it has held up remarkably well, even with the addition of multiple kids to the familiy! I credit the longevity of the floor to the quality of the product and the installation. Landers floated and leveled our entire concrete substrate before installing the wood floors. After a recent water leak, we contacted Landers Premier Flooring to replace our wood floors. We selected Brazilian cherry and set a date for installation. BAD! BAD! BAD! Run from this company do not walk away. They do the "bait and switch" method of under bidding the job, getting your deposit and then changing the contract. There are numerous hidden fees that any customer would want to know about up front such as demanding the customer pay for unused hours of work by their crew even when this is due to poor scheduling by the owner. This is the most unethical company I have ever worked with in Austin and could not get rid of them fast enough. Their tile and base board selection is poor. The coordination between the salesperson, owner and installer are poor. The scheduling is inflexible and they will give you less then a day notice that your scheduled for installation. Suffice it to say, they are the tile store from hell and you would be better off going elsewhere. read more

I worked with Anthony Gengo at Landers on a custom rug and he was awesome! This is the second time I have done business with Landers and they are really great at customer service. Anthony helped me select the right rug for my needs, kept in touch with me regarding the time-frame and then offered to personally deliver my rug on his day off. And then to top it all off, he helped me to set up the rug which involved moving furniture and took another hour of his personal time. Great experience and great individual! read more

My experience with Landers went very smoothly and I love my new carpet. Our old carpet was horrible and needed to be replaced so I did some research and went to Landers and two other places. I really liked the amount of carpet they had to choose from and the way I was treated in the store. The pricing was in line with my other quotes. They gave me a list of things to do before the carpet installers came which was very helpful in getting ready. The installation people showed up on time and finished with no problems. This place is top-notch. After following a respected coworker's recommendation, my husband and I made the trip to the Landers store, where we met Dale. He was pleasant, professional, and polite from our first conversation. His expertise was evident as he selected a few samples just from listening to our needs. He never pushed any product on us. He was transparent throughout the bidding process, staying in contact with us while on his vacation. We met three other flooring companies and received bids, but none impressed me as much as Dale. He personally came and measured our home. The best part was that his crew was able to remove carpet and install the new wood floors all in one day! We recently had about 700 sq ft of hardwood floor installed by Landers Premier Flooring. We couldn't be more pleased with the whole process. Dale handled the sale including the measurements, estimates, contract and scheduling. Everything went smoothly. The installers were the best. They removed the carpet, prepped the concrete slab, installed the new floor and trim, cleaned the area, and all was done in ONE day. The result was flawless - no short cuts. They were even meticulous about the closets. They mixed and matched stain for the quarter round, and like everything else they did, it was perfect. Horrible experience. My kitchen floor, kitchen backsplash, guest bathroom floor tile, bamboo floors, master bathroom floor tile, shower file, carpeting - it is all a disaster. Landers was horrible to work with. I didn't go to Lowe's or Home Depot because we want to support family businesses when possible. Well, they just hire outside guys to do seriously poor work. It-was-shocking how rude the the tile guys (the first guy and the second guy they sent to 'fix' the tile but he made it worse) and first guy they sent to install the bamboo, rude and the poorest quality work I've ever seen. It was the worst experience I've ever had. An interesting thing too, this was a few years back and I made sure to take time to write a poor review then.... I look now and its gone. I didn't know you could have reviews deleted. I simply want to save someone the horrible experience we had. You'd be waaaay better off on every level to go to a big store. read more

I had the most wonderful experience working with Landers this spring on our office renovations. We laid wood laminate flooring in every inch of our office, two stories with a staircase, very tricky spaces. We retiled the surround of our fireplace and created a beautiful backsplash in the kitchen where there was none. It was a huge job involving multiple contractors to work around, coordinated by Dale Markel with Landers. He was great to work with, so knowledgeable in areas where I needed guidance with choices. He worked tirelessly to make sure everything turned out as close to perfect as possible. His installers were the most professional, well mannered guys I've ever encountered on a job like this. They were on time, knew what they were doing, and cleaned up when they were through. I worked with Dale to lay hard wood floors in one room in my home. He made such a terrific impression that I knew he was the man for this job. I talked with several flooring stores before hiring Landers. It was the right choice. If I could give them 10 stars I would. I even had a phone conversation with one of the Landers as I called in one day. They knew my name and asked about my job, how it was coming along. They cared about my satisfaction, they were reasonable, and Southwest Insurance Center looks fantastic thanks to their expert care. I would mention the name of the most un-helpful sales person I have found in a while, but he failed to mention his name when he didn't introduce himself. It took all of 10 seconds for him to tell us we would be better off going to floor and decor warehouse (don't know what it was to prompt this reaction as all we told him was that we were renodeling our bathroom - no mention of size, price, tastes). All this while a room full of other sales people didn't look up from their computers. Well, he got his wish. They wouldn't need to have a sign proclaiming a "sizzling sale" if they just helped the people wanting to do business with them. read more

Great service and beautiful results!. Due to some water damage, we had a complete kitchen overhaul and contacted Landers to help us with floor tile and backsplash. The staff were very responsive and called back very quickly. I communicated mostly with Stephanie who was extremely helpful with both picking out products that I LOVE and with questions about installation and timing. She spent time with me to make sure that even the grout color I picked looked best with the floor tile and even with the backsplash! I couldn't be happier with how it all now looks. It has been over a year now since the renovation and everything still looks beautiful. The workmanship was first class. I couldn't imagine using anyone else - Landers gives the best service and has the best selection!! I'm a happy repeat customer. This is the second time I have used Lander's Premier Flooring to replace carpet. A few years back they replaced the carpets in my former house. We loved the new carpet they helped us choose, but the really great thing we learned about was the upgraded pad that they put in with that carpet- oh my god, it makes all the difference in how it feels walking on that floor. So fast forward to now, when I needed new carpet in a new house, I went directly to Lander's. Again, they were so helpful in choosing our new carpet- and again I made sure to get that upgraded pad. We are quite please with our new flooring. The installation was quick and went smoothly. I even left the installers in my home while I took the kids to play in the park across the street. Landers is expensive but you have to expect to pay for the level of selection and the installation warranty they offer. We redid the carpet in our entire home and replaced hardwood floors in 2 bedrooms. The installers of both were prompt and professional and cleaned up as well as can be expected. We had a hitch with the wood floor install but this is where Landers and my sales rep, Cristen, shined brightly. Cristen came immediately to inspect the problem the day after the install and the next day a crew showed up and quickly resolved the issue, which required replacing a decent section of flooring. It was caused by a new type of glue apparently. Point being - I didn't have to argue it was an issue or demand it be addressed immediately. Cristen just made it happen. Customer service is HUGE in my book and they get 5 stars for that. 4 stars is because it wasn't a perfect experience, but none of us is ;-). And P.S...regarding some of the negative reviews...I had to wait and get shuffled a little also BUT it was only when I just walked in; by appointment the experience/attention was superb. The sales personnel work on 100% commission so having several waiting around for customers to walk in is hard since they aren't earning at the time. Definitely make an appointment when you're ready to shop seriously & you're not just browsing. read more

They did not try to sell us anything and was more interested in helping us get what we wanted. They provided recommendations and tips to properly install the tiles ourselves. I have to say with Landers there is good and there is bad. First the good Rick Spring in the store gave us real good customer service and work with use on the tile that would be right for our house. He came out to the house when he said he was going to and was the only one to give use a itemized quote. He was the only one out of the four companies we has come out to do estimates on the job. In fact because of his professional way he did his job is the reason why we chose to do business with landers. The project was to tile 850 sq feet of flooring downstairs of our house with removal and disposal of the old carpet. Now we were told by Rick that the project should take three to four days to complete. This was important because I had to find a place for my wife mother who is in a wheel chair. I also took three day off from work to be around when this project was supposed to take place. Now for the Item that need improvement. The project should have started on 5/16/2016. On 5/17/2016 I call landers and ask to speak to the management around noon. Nothing was started. I only had one load of tile waiting in my garage. I asked if they really wanted the job or if not to come and pick up the supplies they brought over. They stated they would be right over which was two hours later. I helped prep the floor because of how late it was getting. I was told they would start the next day around 9am. In fact it was around 11am. I'm a person who believes if you say you are starting a project at a certain time then be there around the time you state. 5/18/2016 was a good work day everyone showed up on time and allot of tile was laid. On 5/19/2016 I was told the crew would be there at 9:30am now it 1pm and no one to be found. The work crew showed up the next day.This Project was completed on 5/21/2016. On a side note: Now some constructive criticism. I talked to the person in charge yesterday about some gaps I saw between the tile and the wall. I understand that the wall are not exactly square But do not tell the customer that its not my fault. The correct response would be state the facts which he did by the wall not being square and offer option to correct the issue. Conclusion: Landers agreed that they messes up with the install and This project did not stay on schedule. We recently worked with John and Stephanie Landers to replace wood flooring and carpet in a whole house remodel. We had a pleasant experience from the first moment we walked in the showroom and were greeted by John Landers, who proceeded to show us the wood flooring (and at a good price) that we have been hoping to find for years. Now that all the flooring is installed, we would say this has been one of the smoothest transactions and installations in our entire remodel process. The installers took extra care to get the wood and carpet laid just right, and our other contractors are even impressed by the quality of the product and the workmanship of the installers. I am a bit disheartened to read all the negative reviews, and can only say that our experience was entirely different. John and Stephanie Landers have created an environment for their customers that has that "family" run feel, and their pride of ownership shows through their complete follow through. As Stephanie has noted in some of her personal responses to negative feedback, customer service is very important to them - and it has been very apparent to us that that is the case. Landers has made us very happy and satisfied customers. The selection was amazing, price was fair, the installation great (Humberto and the crew are really good at what they do...very fast, and the hardest working people I've seen in my life). But there's a bit of a story. We had beautiful maple floors installed in Spring of 2011 and by Summer of 2011 there was an issue with the wood 'cupping' along the seams. John Landers was receptive to our concerns and helped us through the process of finding the problem. There was no moisture issue, no glue problem. It appears to have been a flaw in the Mullican floor (that specific Mullican line has since been discontinued...hmmm). Mullican's response to the problem was disappointing, implying the issue was caused by the thermostat in our Austin, TEXAS house being left on 80 degrees during the day while we were at work (and they said that with a straight face). But John's principals held firm and he came up with a fair resolution. Our floor was replaced and looks wonderful. Landers is a business that does The Right Thing. It should be the norm, but often isn't, and it's a pleasant surprise when a business responds this way. We highly recommend doing business with this store. read more

After reading reviews and interviewing 3 different flooring companies, made decision to go with Landers. We had 3 different floors involved with remodel....outside tile deck, master bed carpet and entire downstairs floor from carpet to wood. Project seemed bit overwhelming until we met Cristen at Landers. Can't say enough positives about Cristen.... she listened to us, yet offered suggestions and ideas that made entire project both fun and better than expected. She clearly has designer eye and guided us thru a maize of options and questions we had. Entire process involves both decision making and install....and once again with install, Landers exceeded expectations. Wow..... we had 3 different install teams to do each of 3 different floor types. Each team is totally professional and skilled with each floor type...no subs here! We had a point person on each team and each of them made point at start and finish of install to make sure the "customer is totally satisfied". This includes all the prep details, doing everything possible to keep home clean before and after install and putting all the furniture back "exactly" where we wanted it. On couple of floors, they even found some issues once install started and totally fixed them on the spot. Just watching each of these teams work is something to behold! Cristen also contacted me throughout entire process to make sure everything was going beyond our expectations. We unequivocally would go to Landers and Cristen for any future flooring projects and recommend them to anyone with any type flooring project. read more

Don't buy from here. We had a pleasant experience ordering. We thought we ordered name brand flooring and the flooring we picked from the showroom. When we had the product delivered the material listed on our order form and what was listed on the actual product did not match. When we called we spoke with John Lander's who insisted the 65 "mislabeled" boxes were the product we ordered. Long story short we as customers were apparently wrong even though what was in our invoice did not match with the product John insisted was correct. Instead if trying to resolve the issue we were just offered our money back and were left without the flooring we thought we had ordered. Guess we will go to the box stores where we know we will get the product we want. Poor customer service especially from the owner of the store. I would expect that from a big box store but not a local business owner. Guess they really didn't need our business after all. read more

If you go to Landers don't get hooked up with one of their sales reps named Guy. I had a terrible experience with him. He's either senile or just doen't care about customer service. I went to the showroom and after an hour or so discussion with Guy I picked a tile for 2 bathroom floors. Just as we were about to write the order he said "Oh no! You know what? This is a wall tile and not a floor tile." so it was back to the drawing board and I picked another tile. Next came the visit to my home to measure and discuss the installation. I was wanting to get it done ASAP as I was leaving in a few weeks for the summer. We discussed putting a sub flooring material down to prevent cracking as the slabs in my subdivision are not particularly stable. After a few e-mail quotes we settled on a final price for the installation. This was Friday afternoon. I was on the golf course and Guy said he had to have a deposit check that afternoon so he could order the sub flooring material in order to start the installation the next week. I couldn't use a credit card and it couldn't wait until the next morning. So...at 1:30 I drove from south Austin to their showroom up north. I didn't bother to shower or eat lunch as I wanted to be able to start back south ASAP to avoid as much of the afternoon traffice as possible. Just as I was about to write my deposit chedk Guy said "You know what? I just realized this material will take 10 days to get here". This meant the installation would not be able to start for 2 weeks! So I broke my neck getting there for nothing!!! I walked out without signing my check and will NEVER go back to Laners again. This guy is a total joke when it comes to following through on his promises. He's a ...how do I say it....very large man and gives the appearance he is lazy. This was July 2013. I should have contacted the Landers however I had so much on my plate trying to make arrangements to be gone several weeks I didn't have the time or energy to deal with him anymore. A couple of my neighbors have use Landers for wood flooring and been very happy. My advice is if you go to Landers avoid dealing with Guy! read more
