I had a water issue at my house that compromised some of my flooring and I was looking for a match. At first, Landers was helpful in calling around and trying to find a match. Then, when they got a sample in and it looked nothing like my existing floor, they pretty much stopped helping me. I am looking for a solution people! I even considered just replacing the whole floor but staff honestly couldn't be bothered to sell me anything. I am replacing an existing solid exotic hardwood and wanted the same. They tried to sell me engineered hardwood and when I said I didn't like it they criticized my decision to the point that I felt so awkward I left. I say go somewhere where salespeople want your money. read more

I was in a hurry to have our nursery floors done so I didn't spend a lot of time researching flooring companies before choosing Landers. I was worried that I might regret acting so hastily but ended up being very impressed with them. I stopped in one day to see if they could help me figure out what kind of wood was in the rest of the house so we could match it. (Former owners did the floors so we didn't know what it was.) Josh greeted me immediately when I got there, I explained what I needed, and he showed me a few options but said the best way to figure out what it was would be to have him come out to the house...unless there was a box in the attic. I hadn't even thought of that, and of course there was. I called a few days later, gave him the info, and within a day or two they had a box there for me so I could see how well it matched. Once I gave him the go-ahead it only took a few more days and the installers were out here putting in our new floors. They were very courteous, professional and did a wonderful job. When they pulled up the carpet they discovered we had an issue that was causing mold in a closet. I wanted to have it fixed before covering with the wood, so I told them to leave that space uncovered. Immediately after they left I got an email from Josh saying that he heard I had an issue and he wanted to make sure everything was okay. I let him know what we'd found and told him my husband could probably put in those last few boards once it was fixed. He insisted that they come back out once it's fixed to finish the job for us. We had almost 1500 square feet of hardwood flooring installed in one day. We are SO Happy!!!! The floors are just beautiful, and what a crew! My Spouse stayed at the house with the crew. She went on and on about how good the crew was. I saw them in action myself towards the end of the day and I have to agree! John Landers, the product you recommended for our lifestyle was spot-on, and beautiful! Your crew was downright amazing. The men were careful and respectful of our humble furnishing inside and our lawn outside. They were fast, with not one person dragging his feet or milling about all day, and it was a long day for them. They arrived early, in clean professional trucks, then went to work immediately. A quick lunch, 25 minutes maybe, if that long, and then they kept a dizzying pace until almost 8:00 last night. I have browsed at Landers several times. They have a beautiful showroom. Each time, I have been helped by Cristen. This time, I came looking for mosaic tile; Cristen pointed me in the exact right direction and gave me a great price. (Ask about a better price for paying via cash/check instead of credit.) I went to many different tile stores, and finally... success!!! Whew! Cristen is a tough cookie. Quick thinking, type A, and kinda brutally honest... Just what I need! She has given me some of the best advice, tips, and reminders about my project. (Little things... like with clear glass mosaic, make sure it has a white backing so the thinset doesn't show through. I am 50/50 regarding this company. The process of picking out the tile and working with the salesman was great. However, installation was a mess. We had them replace carpet with porcelain tile in the office, master bedroom and closet. After they started the installation 2 days late, things seemed to be going well. I was home but I stayed out of the way. The installers were very nice. I did notice on the first day they did not lay anything on the floor from the front door to the rooms they were working in. I had to clean the floor after they left each day. On the 3rd and last day (Friday) of installation I checked the floors closely. The first thing I noticed was the baseboards in all 3 rooms were a mess. There were dirty water drops and a lot of grout smeared on them. I also swept the floors that night, with a Swiffer and they were totally dirty. We swept the office twice, then my husband got on his hands and knees and cleaned the tile with water and tile cleaner. It was still dirty. We called and sent several pictures to our rep at Landers and he said he would talk to the installers and the owner. He sent the installers out the following Monday to clean the mess. When they got here, I let showed them how bad the baseboards were. He tried to blame it on the carpet installers. (Our house is only 2 1/2 years old) Plus, carpet does not need water or grout. Then he blamed his assistant. They stayed for about 2 hours. Basically, all they did was wash the tile again and fill in a few of the chips. One of chips was repaired but they smeared the grout all over the tile. We cleaned that as well. I called Landers again and told them it still wasn't clean and I told them we would take care of it. My husband ended up painting all of the baseboards. Landers said "Sorry" and charged the rest of the cost that day. Now that everything is clean (thanks to us) it looks great. read more

In looking to get my entire ground floor redone in laminate wood, I had been in and out of countless flooring stores by the time I happened to stumble across Landers and going in there felt like a breath of fresh air. Phil was incredibly helpful and the selection was some of the best I'd seen for whatever product you could be looking for. I had delays due to family obligations and it took me a while to nail down pricing but they were patient and the final price was very reasonable! The job itself was able to be scheduled less than a week after the sales order was confirmed and their work crew had everything done in half a day. I have used Landers Premier Flooring on many projects over the years. This week they installed wood flooring in two large rooms with closets. Here is what happened: 1. They showed earlier than they said they would. 2. While I was talking to the lead person, two other guys were laying paper and plastic to protect the other flooring. They even protected the limestone stairs leading to the front door. 3. They immediately got to work removing the carpet and leveling the floors. 4. Their wood installation was so good we were able to forego shoe mold. The painters came through today and added another coat of paint. Every experience is just like that. John asks what you need, he finds the solution AND he has a team of people who show up and get the work done. No piddling around with one guy over several days. I'm very happy I chose Landers to replace all the flooring in my new house. Dale was fantastic to work with -- he explained all the options, and once I'd picked what I wanted, he put together a variety of quotes for me since I wasn't sure how much I wanted to do at once. He also gave me good advice on what to do while still ultimately following my lead, and I never felt "sold" or talked down to. Landers Premier Flooring is good until they aren't. I read previous 1* and 5* reviews and agree with some points in each. My 2018 experience with Landers was 4* (colored by supervisor who did not understand my English, & breakage of glass shelf I had only moments before cautioned them about). MY 2019 EXPERIENCE - 1 STAR - final answer. PLEASE SEE MY PHOTOS, which speak louder than words for sure. Support for my 1* review: (1) Base removal resulted in long horizontal slits in the sheetrock, from carelessness with the box cutters the workers used (these were never repaired and still appear in the photos). (2) Existing baseboards, which were to be reinstalled after floor install, were carelessly removed, resulting in irreparable damage. (3) When asked by me, workers denied any wrongdoing, insisting the damage was there when they started - not true. (4) Conversely, the workers reinstalled the base using massive quantities of caulk in an attempt to disguise the damage they had caused during removal - see PHOTOS section - including caulking between the baseboards and the floor! (5) I think a big part of the problem was that, although I was promised Humberto from my 2018 job, the Humberto who showed up was Humberto JUNIOR; Landers will respond that Humberto SR Did show up mid-job, which is true, for about 10 minutes, but that is sneaky because that is not what I wanted/expected. (6) Although ultimately John, the owner, agreed (via Joe, my salesperson) to send Humberto, SR to uninstall existing and install New baseboards, which he did, no effort was made to repair the sliced sheetrock - again, see photos of what I'm left with in the end. (7) Like others who posted, the apologies offered focused on them being sorry I was not happy, not on them being sorry for failure on their part. And finally, as others have reported, no offer of any compensation (discount) for all the delay, the angst, or the less than stellar job I am left with. read more

There's good and bad with these guys (it may also vary by sales person). The good. Nice quality floors, and the install job was great. No issues in the past 4 weeks since they've been installed. The not-so-good. My particular sales persona was about as uncommunicative as they come. Even after an email explaining some of the oddities of the installers (more on this in a second) I still haven't gotten a response. As for the installers they did a professional job, however they were far from professional. When they showed up I offered them water and told them where they could find glasses and ice. However, upon returning I noticed cans from several speciality beverages that I keep stocked in the back of their truck (with the rest of the trash). I never ok'd them to go into the beer fridge, but they took it upon themselves to drink some of the more expensive items in that fridge. If you can tolerate some less-than-great customer/professional service and really just want good floors that are nicely installed this is a good bet. read more

This flooring still looks great. When we decided to change the flooring downstairs, we immediately called them again. We worked with Lanell Neff and she was awesome. I guess we will never know... Landers was recommended to us by some people that we met at a festival who just happened to over hear that we were looking to put wood floors down. They had great things to say, so we went ahead and stopped by the store. They are short handed and I could tell they try their hardest to pay attention to you, but two people can only do so much. They let us take some samples which was nice, but when my husband went to return them he felt a little snubbed as if he just wasn't important enough to be bothered with, at least a hello, or a handshake and a "thanks." Which was what I initially had noticed about them the day we set up our appointment. I went to put out my hand for the traditional "look forward to doing business with you" handshake...uuuum ok, turned his back and proceeded with what I assume was more important things? We had a estimate scheduled for the last day of the month, and now 10 days later have not been contacted about our quote. Maybe they think we don't have money, I don't think our home gives off that kind of vibe? Anyway, in a couple months we will be moving forward with our wood floors, it just won't be with Landers. read more

We were building a new home in Travisso and did not like the overpriced selection at our builders design center. We took standard flooring and hired Lander's to rip it all out (tile and carpet) and put in vinyl planks throughout. From the moment I walked in I felt like I was working with family. Anthony worked with me throughout the process and felt like my very own personal assistant. I cannot thank him enough for just how amazingly smooth he made this process for me. He brought in extra samples just to make sure I was completely happy and dealt with me changing installation dates due to building delays. To be honest, they didn't appear at first to be the cheapest for the same product. The key was that the 'cheap guy down the street' inflated his measurement numbers and the amount of product I needed making him dishonest and more expensive than Lander's. Don't be fooled by the cheap guy down the street, trust Lander's to take care of you. They did everything in 1 day: tile/carpet tear out, floor prep, and installation (cheap guy was going to take 3 days and didn't have the warranty to back his installation like Lander's has). We had 1800 sg ft of wood flooring installed almost 7 years ago and it has held up remarkably well, even with the addition of multiple kids to the familiy! I credit the longevity of the floor to the quality of the product and the installation. Landers floated and leveled our entire concrete substrate before installing the wood floors. BAD! BAD! BAD! Run from this company do not walk away. They do the "bait and switch" method of under bidding the job, getting your deposit and then changing the contract. There are numerous hidden fees that any customer would want to know about up front such as demanding the customer pay for unused hours of work by their crew even when this is due to poor scheduling by the owner. This is the most unethical company I have ever worked with in Austin and could not get rid of them fast enough. Their tile and base board selection is poor. The coordination between the salesperson, owner and installer are poor. The scheduling is inflexible and they will give you less then a day notice that your scheduled for installation. Suffice it to say, they are the tile store from hell and you would be better off going elsewhere. read more
