I tried landing and main over the weekend. The place kinda has an identity issue. It can't really figure out what it wants to be. They offer a little bit of everything from 38 dollar steaks to hamburger to pasta, seafood. Kinda all over the place. Paper napkins kinda disappointing. Small bar, tight parking lot, low ceilings. It's worth a shot if your I'm the area, I wouldn't go out of my way to go here. If you want a place that gives a more wow factor with a beautiful outside, high ceilings, large bar check out scotch plains in essex. read more

My mom and I went here for dinner after the Essex Steam Train & Riverboat Tour. The food and cocktails were amazing and Janet was great. The portion size was huge, so we didn't get a chance to try dessert. We had a great time and definitely want to come back (to try the chocolate cake). read more

I had the Harvest Salad- YUMMY! The only tri-town restaurant offering 4 different proteins you can add to your salad- and the options aren't lunch meat. They accommodated my revisions without question - croutons and Feta vs Gorgonzola. The protein I added-steak- was well seasoned and cooked to my desired temp-perfect. Would not recommend. The food is expensive and terrible. We waited a hour for our food- even with a young child at the table. The chicken on the salad was gristle, had to be spit into a napkin. The chicken picatta had a thick film on it which made it obvious it had been sitting awhile under the heating lamp, also no flavor. The fish and chips fish was transparent, it was not cooked. We sat with dirty plates in front of us until the bill came because we were not checked on after the food was delivered, poor service. The waitress said we should have said something but we were never checked on.This place has a lot to figure out. read more

We went on a Saturday night and it was pretty busy. Social distancing was definitely being observed as the tables were far apart. We wanted to sit outside, but it was full so we sat at a table in the bar area. The menu is nice. There is something for everyone. The apps were a little pricy, but still very good. The have a nice selection of salads with many different proteins that can be added. They also offer great daily specials. The portion sizes are very large and the drinks are substantial in size. We live in the area and will definitely be back. The only issue we had was that the parking lot is tight and the street parking was full. read more

I ordered a lobster roll which usually doesn't carry well and it was still unbelievable and my husband had the pasta carbonara and we both gots apps/sides. Great new edition to the Tri town area with outside dining options. Nothing fancy, except the cocktails which are crafted nicely for a simple pub. They now offer delivery which is a great option during the pandemic. read more

Visited this spot with my wife today for the 1st time and we will be back. The owner and server were both very welcoming. We had the shrimp wrapped bacon app and lobster bisque and both were tremendous. For the main courses we had the chili burrito and blackened fish special. I had such a great experience at Landing & Main this week! The food was so fresh and delicious, the drinks were beyond to die for, and the service was wonderful. I had the Grilled Lemon Chicken and the Lana's Lemonade (think.. blueberries, mint, vodka ... YUM!) this combo was the ultimate summer vibe! I sat on the patio which was so comfortable, clean, and very well decorated - I felt like I was hanging out in a friend's backyard. I highly recommend and will be back next week. New restaurant, totally redone in an old setting. The owners ran the very successful Ivory at this location for many years. They're back (in their third week) with a beautiful renovation and interesting menu. We started with Fried Calamari and Buffalo Cauliflower (spicy) both very good. Entrees included Chicken Piccata with linguine, Sushi grade Tuna (served raw as a special request), and Chicken Parmigianna all of which were excellent. The Harvest salad was well presented. The wine list is short but adequate and will be expanded. Service was friendly, personable and efficient. We will go back very soon. read more

We arrived at 3:30 after a ride on the (awesome) Essex train. The place had 1 occupied table. Our food took an hour to prepare(nachos, quesadilla, salad, and a burger). The food wasn't great and with our drinks and 3 soups the total was $112. Save your money for someplace else. read more

I feel bad making a low star review but wow- Not sure where to start! The drinks were awful and made with a vodka I would have drank in high school (like Dubra or something similar( (even the non-alcoholic drinks were watered down) my friend and I both ordered the New York strip ($32 each) which came out 45 mins after the appetizers (with only two other tables full in the whole restaurant this delay seems crazy to me). The steaks were fried in oil and disgusting. I sent mine back which apparently angered the waitress who was extremely rude about it and even sent another waitress to give us our bill- who was also very rude about it. We tried Landing & Main twice. The first time was so good, we rushed back a few weeks later! The first trip, we got the ranch cauliflower, nachos, and chicken Marsala, and shared everything. I also had the lavender gin fizz. Everything was amazing, including the seasoned dip for the bread and the service. The server even went out of her way to write down for us what went into the oil dip! The second time we went, I got the sangria to drink. We again ordered the ranch cauliflower and tried the chicken piccata. We had the same server, who was great. But nothing about the food was up to par, which was surprising since only a few weeks had passed. We were served the buffalo cauliflower, which was really spicy. When I told the manager (he'd stopped by to ask how everything was), he insisted it was the ranch flavor we'd ordered and didn't offer to take it back. Our dressing wasn't what we'd requested on the side salads. The oil for the bread wasn't seasoned the same... it was also really spicy. The chicken piccata was good, but by the time we got to the main course I was already just disappointed. The topper was that as I finished my drink. I realized there was a dime in the bottom of my glass! In the age of Covid, that was pretty unnerving. We won't be rushing back to L&M. read more
