    Amazing plate of yumminess!!!

Had the porkchop with cheesy mashed potatoes and flame seared tomatoes.... Delicious!!! Always a great meal from Chef Mike. Porkchop was seasoned and cooked to perfection! And Courtney, the bartender, always makes you feel right at home. Smiles and great fun when we are at Landing & Main!

Fish sandwich , sweet potato fries. The burger plate looked identical to this except it was a burger instead of a piece of fish .

Found this place online for a late lunch/early dinner after doing some shopping in the area. It was an unusually warm day for March, & it showed that they had outside seating, plus menu items that appealed to us. The photos we saw on Google looked great. We arrived...and the outside seating turned out to be a small patio adjacent to the parking lot. All the outdoor tables were dusty and dirty, obviously not being used. Ok, understandable, it's March. We went inside. There were maybe a half dozen people at the bar who appeared to be regulars. That's it. Nobody at any tables. It WAS a weekday afternoon (Thursday) so we didn't think much of it. The place did not look as new & fresh as it did in the online photos, but it was ok. Our server was the bartender who greeted us when we walked in. My partner decided on some kind of steak tips over crostini dish which the server/bartender recommended, it was a "special" that day, not on the menu. I just ordered the fish sandwich and sweet potato fries. And we waited. And waited. I was hungry. Contemplated leaving. AT LEAST 30-40 minutes went by, and the server finally came over- to tell us that they couldn't find any bread so they couldn't make the steak tips/crostini dish! Wow. She was very nice, and apologetic, but it was still kind of ridiculous. WHY did it take so long to inform us they were out of that item? The food came a little while after that and it wasn't great. The fish was ok, but it tasted like it was frozen not fresh. Same with the sweet potato fries, definitely a frozen product just heated up. Partner's burger was alright, but he said the bun seemed a bit stale (I didn't eat mine). The server did end up comping us for his meal, I guess she felt bad for the wait; so at least we didn't spend a ton. Just overall not great, and I felt like the pics on their website are a little misleading? It looked like a higher end restaurant with great fresh food, and it definitely wasn't that .

I went to this place because of convenience since it was pretty close to where we were in the area. We went early afternoon and it was not busy at all so we were seated right away. We were a big party of about 10 people and they were able to accommodate for that amount but I don't see it working when it's busy, but it just might. Ordered for apps the lobster bisque which was okay not a lot of flavor, just ok. For my main I got the chicken cutlet sandwich. I asked for cheese because it doesn't come with it. I thought the sandwich was pretty dry and they toast the bread for you just as a heads up for those like me that don't like their sandwiches with toasted bread. Someone in my party ordered the Buffalo wings, which had flavor but were a bit too salty for my taste. I did try the French onion soup from my boyfriend and that was pretty good. Overall, this place has a wide variety of things to choose from which is good for parties that have different tastes, but I don't see myself coming again if I'm in the area.

The Hits: Extra Thick Cut Bacon: Absolute perfection to start the meal. Thick, savory, and packed with flavor. Surf & Turf Sushi Roll: A standout appetizer! Great combination of flavors and super fresh. Strawberry Sorbet: Served on top of our dessert, this was a surprisingly brilliant touch--bright and refreshing. The Room for Improvement: The Ribeye: The steaks overall were good quality, but the execution on my ribeye could've been better. The fat wasn't rendered down properly, which left quite a bit of chewy gristle that should have been melt-in-your-mouth tender. The Lava Cake: A bit of a letdown. It lacked moisture and tasted more like a mass-produced, pre-made dessert than something baked fresh in-house (though again, that strawberry sorbet topping saved it a bit). Overall, It's a decent steakhouse spot with some killer starters, but given the reputation and price point, I was expecting to be completely blown away. Worth a visit for the appetizers and atmosphere, but there's slight room for refinement on the entrees and desserts.

This place was great about connecting and making the meal more enjoyable. Our server was a young lady named Nicole. She was passionate about the food and knowledgeable and down to earth. The food was EXCELLENT but elevated even more by the service we got from the servers and manager. Our steak was cooked perfectly. My wife enjoyed the $1 happy hour oysters in the bar area. This place was just as enjoyable as a fine dining experience at a high end place like Flemings. In fact, this was better than Flemings location in West Hartford. We wanted a place that had sushi and steak and we found this place. Everything we had was over a 9/10 for us. The pimento Mac n cheese was so good as a side dish. The 30 day aged rib-eye was so good as a main course. We did give feedback about the crispy rice appetizer being too crispy and they just straight up comp'ed us for it. We weren't even trying to get it for free but they were so on top of everything. If you have a date night or special occasion, please consider this place. I will definitely return.

It was cold and felt like a basement. There were wine and spirt bottles lined up on the window sill to give it that college frat house vibe. My wife had the salmon, and I had the filet. The salmon was hard and felt like it was under a warming lamp for a while. The bourbon honey dipping glaze helped to soften it a bit, but then you couldn't taste the salmon. My steak was overcooked and underseasoned. The sides were good and mashed potatoes had lumps! The chocolate mousse pie for dessert was straight from the Sysco box. I wish I could say the service was a bright spot, but I can't. The wait staff all looked like they'd prefer to be somewhere/anywhere else and were not at all attentive. Out wait person, Francisco was efficient, personable, attentive but not hovering over us. Ample parking. Gilberts to celebrate another milestone with our son--his completion of ODS. Our reservation was for 7:30 PM, and after waiting about 10 minutes for our table, I asked whether we were being seated in Amanda's section. That was when we were told that Amanda no longer works at J. Gilberts. I was honestly surprised and disappointed that we weren't informed of this when making the reservation, especially since we specifically requested her. The food was OK as our steaks were more than medium rare (dry, not juicy) but unfortunately the overall experience felt very average this time. What made our previous visit special was the warmth, personal attention, and connection we experienced with Amanda. That feeling simply wasn't there this time. I understand that staff changes happen, but given that Amanda was specifically requested and was a major reason we chose to return for another family milestone, I would have appreciated being told in advance. It would have allowed us to set different expectations--or perhaps make another choice. We came back hoping to recreate a special experience, and unfortunately, it just didn't have the same warmth this time around.

This…read morewas our first trip to Westerly to dine at this steak house, keeping in mind that we're in CT around the Navy Base so we aren't very familiar with the Westerly downtown footprint. Upon entering Chillingham's we were immediately greeted by a smiling, happy to help face. The entry way was clean and didn't feel as if it was closed in, hard to access, and it didn't feel as if I was an interruption to other customers enjoying their meal. The atmosphere was easy to slip into and felt highly comfortable, especially for an upscale steak house. Accessibility is a hard feat for Chillingham's. In the Westerly downtown area, they are tucked in behind the main strip, and their access area is a hidden drive beside a secured parking lot. Once we had located Chillingham's, which wasn't an easy task, signage is well marked from the RI direction but not from the CT direction. By "well marked" I mean the restaurant is struggling with city ordinances for signs and other businesses not sharing their buildings for directional signage. The parking lot is quite small and hard to maneuver in. We ended up parking on the main street and walking down. This was not unenjoyable at all and would have been even more pleasant had it not been sprinkling. The downward street to their building is not well lit, again, not belonging to them, Chillingham's is hard pressed to fix this. The entrance to the building was clean, easy to enter, and well kept. The online reservations made it very clear that there was an upper seating area where steps would be essential or a downstairs area. This is an excellent way to prepare diners and allow them to customize their experience at Chillingham's. While the stairway was open and spacious, there was a significant amount of grease on the stairs. This not only is a significant fall risk for diners but must impact the Chillingham's staff as well. Understand that the upstairs area is beautiful and spacious and has a wonderful at home feeling. However, with restrooms located downstairs and staff using the stairs for food transportation, greasy stairs are just not safe. During the visit, we opted to sit upstairs. The music level and noise levels were excellent for an enjoyable dining experience. There is plenty of room between and around tables ensuring a private, comfortable meal with plenty of room for staff and patrons to maneuver without causing any interruption to meals. Lighting is on point throughout the restaurant. Intimate and cozy while being bright enough to see clearly. The meal was amazing. I have not had a steak cooked to that perfection since my father passed away many years ago. The sauce on the steak was pure perfection. My husband enjoyed the prime rib and has nothing but excellence to say. Without using the word excellent 17 times in a row, I'm not sure how well to express the quality of the food served. Taste was divine and there was no question as to if the food was locally sourced. You can taste the freshness. Our waiter did a fantastic job ensuring we had a wonderful meal. He was very familiar with the menu; in fact he described the special so well I was ready to skip the appetizer and have the main course immediately. His demeanor was positive and proactive; he knew when to make small talk and when to make the exit. He repeated the order back for confirmation and upsold both the special and dessert, making his job done perfectly. We didn't feel rushed or ignored at any point of the visit. The menu was easy to read, understand, and portion sizes and prices were clearly displayed. Allergen information was clear on the menu as well. Overall, our visit to Chilllingham's was very enjoyable and we can't wait to visit again. I give 9 of 10 stars, only loosing the last star for the difficulty in locating the restaurant.

The biggest issue was the 8-oz filet, which cost $58. It was extremely charred--so much that I had to remove a significant amount of the char just to be able to eat it. For a $58 filet, I expected much better. The drinks were also disappointing. 3 out of the 4 we ordered did not come with a garnish, which made the presentation feel pretty lackluster. The $12 Seedlip mocktail was especially disappointing. It genuinely tasted like water with almost no flavor. For a $12 drink, I expected considerably more. All drinks were served with boba straws. They were also out of many items we wanted, which made ordering frustrating. By 7:30 they were out of the wedge salad, baked potatoes, baked stuffed shrimp and the pork chop described on the menu. The service started okay, but went downhill during the meal. Once our food was served, she never asked if we wanted another round of drinks, it felt like we were basically forgotten. After she dropped off boxes, it took another 20 minutes just to get our bill. We were sitting upstairs surrounded by multiple unbused tables, which definitely didn't help the overall atmosphere. The area was also fairly loud. There were 5 people in our party, with two people splitting one steak, and the bill was ultimately split three ways. We were also charged a $10 split plate fee, which was another thing that didn't feel great given the overall experience. I will say the service wasn't terrible the entire time, and the restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, but there were just too many little issues throughout the meal. Between the over-charred $58 filet, flavorless $12 mocktail, missing garnishes, unavailable menu items, dirty tables, and the long wait for the check, I expected a lot more for what we paid. Overall: 1/5. I wouldn't be in a rush to return.
