I was flying into DIA and attempted to reserve a ride online. Regardless of which destination I selected (various area hotels, hub, etc.), the system responded with "unavailable." Calling to speak to a human was equally frustrating, because no humans answer the phones. My call went to voicemail. After leaving a message, no one called me back. Hitchhiking would have been more effective. (NOTE: Do not hitchhike; this is very dangerous). Seriously, my experience leaves me wondering if this company is actually still in operation. If it is, then Eight Black is in serious need of some customer service training. Note to competitors: HUGE opportunity here. Jump on it!

My mom had an early morning ride to the airport a few days ago on a very cold (0 degrees and snowy)…read moreday. Her ride was originally scheduled for 6:30am pick up. She got delayed several times, pushed to 6:50am despite the poor weather conditions. She figured she might be the last pick up; they were supposed to arrive to the airport by 8am. Instead, she got driven all over creation, down 2-lane rural farm roads to pick up just one person in Erie, then dumped off at a transfer to a completely packed shuttle from Boulder. They didn't arrive to the airport until 8:20am. You can read in my reviews and check ins that Eight Black has been consistently declining, pretty rapidly over the past year especially. Their relatively new habit of carting Longmont passengers around for excessive amounts of time to pick people up all over creation has got to stop. Just freakin' take us to the airport in a smaller vehicle and have someone else take the Boulder/Erie folks to the airport. Or make those rural folks park in a P&R or hub like RTD passengers do, like we have the option to do in Longmont (used to be standard for this company). There are so many better options than what this business is doing now. Longmont passengers are absolutely getting the loooooooooong end of the stick (and that ain't the good end) from Eight Black these days. If we can no longer rely on Eight Black to get us TO the airport on time, I won't be sending anyone in their direction at all. I have vouchers to use up but once those are gone, my time with Eight Black is almost guaranteed to be over unless/until I read reviews about major changes.

It's a rather plain room, chairs, coffee/tea, and tables. Feels a bit like a break room for staff. The plane was clean, albeit a bit old. Flight crew was great, checking in often, without being a pest. WiFi worked solid the entire flight. The in flight service is an ecological nightmare. Everything has single use plastic. For a yogurt, I got a plastic spoon, knife, and fork. This on top of the plastic cup and two levels of plastic lids. A bottle of water was a tiny plastic bottle, and it soon felt bad to get anything more. My kid needs me to leave a planet to enjoy, not save. The Colorado ground crew was good. One guy was outstanding. I believe his name was Connor. He went out of his way to acknowledge people and help them. I watched how he did this with his colleagues too. If I were hiring, he's the type of employee I would try to steal. When I arrived into Boulder, the ground crew was less than pleasant, minus the previous mention. But when I flew out the entire ground crew was friendly and nice. The lounge isn't. It's just the lobby for everything, not just JAX. The coffee/tea machines were not on and are little more than the smallest Kureg one can buy. Back on the plane, service was top notch. We did leave two hours late. The plane was too heavy, given the luggage situation. (Some folks had a lot, and it looked heavy.). They got everyone's body weight and calculated if we were still too heavy. If we were, they would have to stay on the ground and burn off fuel. Great, more waste. Thankfully, some skinny people saved us and we left, arriving home two+ hours late. So it goes, it was still better than dealing with the crowded airport. The people make this business, so I hope they are taken care of well.
