I adore this bookstore, it's charming with its cozy space full of books organized well from floor to ceiling and stretching far back, it feels kinda like a journey to walkthrough and look at their selection - don't miss the leatherbound books on the middle of the store. There are some leather chairs and beautiful fresh flowers. I really valued the intentionality of the design, the products offered, and the staff present. Great place to support and find a meaningful gift or treat yourself!

I have wanted to visit Landmark Booksellers since I found out it was the inspiration for the Bridge by Karen Kingsbury. It is a quaint little house with places to sit and be surrounded by books. I loved it.

Very nice little shop. Stopped here first because of the Franklin walking tour. Went back the next day to explore more.

Oh my goodness, how I love this store! It brings me such joy that real brick and mortar bookstores…read morestill exist, even though they are extremely few and far between. I grew up an avid reader, and as a pre-teen I remember begging my parents to take me to the local Barnes & Noble on a Saturday night. Looking back I'm sure they were so relieved that's where I wanted to hang out, so it makes sense now why they took me nearly every time. It's just a special place and feeling to be in a store surrounded by imagination and basically anything you wish to explore. Happy to learn that there is a surviving store in Cool Springs near where I work. I come here on my lunch break about once a month. Even if I don't buy, it's great to walk the aisles and see what is available. The staff is kind, encouraging of everyone to explore. They keep it very clean. Huge parking lot. You won't find me with any negative comments. Please stay open forever!

I have been here on more than one occasion solely for the café, but I do find myself wandering the store browsing for a good book from time to time. Most of my purchases here have been books for my nephews and a few corporate/career-based books. The store is always well stocked, well kept and clean. Service is beyond friendly, and they are always so helpful! I legit look lost each time I go in, so I ask for directions and they make sure I get to where I am going in the store. Overall, cool to still have Barnes & Noble brick and mortars around, especially this location!

Yesterday was my first time coming in, and I loved it! They had every book on my look out for list,…read moreand then some. A total of sixteen books, not sorry lol. All my friends I was with were very happy with their findings as well. The only negative thing I could possibly say about this awesome place was the young guy with glasses that rang me up at cash register two. After setting my basket down and getting out my credit card, I realize he must be waiting for me to get the books out, so no problem, I'm not above that. He waits for me to get all my books out, scans them, and that's it. Doesn't give me a bag to put my all my books in, or even help put back in the basket. No words to indicate the interaction is over until I awkwardly realize it on my own. He was very off-putting. I will still be back because this place, otherwise, is amazing and I want to bring some family members and friends who I know will have fun too.

The daughter being done with her Master's program at Vanderbilt was looking for a place to…read moreoffload/sell her nursing textbooks. She found McKay's online and it seemed to be the best place to do that. Wow -- we were not prepared for the massiveness of this super, super busy place! Being our first time and not knowing how it all worked, it didn't take us long to figure out where to go and what to do. There wasn't much of a line when we started. We placed her books in a bin, then waited to be called by a greeter. Our greeter quickly explained the process, gave the daughter a claim ticket, then we waited. In the 40 minutes it took for her claim number to come up on the screen, we were able to walk through most of the sections and pick out a couple things to buy. I was quite surprised to find so many things beyond books -- DVDs, VHS, vinyl records, CDs, cassette tapes, clothing, Pokémon cards, instruments, game consoles, accessories, Legos, toys, comic books, etc. It was seriously amazing. My daughter decided to take her sale in trade which gave her about 50% more to spend. For the books they didn't buy she was given the option to take them back or donate them there. She chose to donate. The husband loves old movies, art and music -- he will absolutely enjoy McKay's. I can't wait to bring him here! The parking lot is as massive, so I don't think there's ever an issue with that.

It was busy but not packed when we arrived, and it looked like the staff was setting up for an event. Books are arranged by genre, with newer titles near the front of the store. I found a few novels I've been eyeing, and the prices are fair. I could have easily spent a few hours browsing ... as easily as I could have spent a small fortune on books. It is worth noting that my husband was disappointed at the graphic novel selection (it was only one small end cap), and sadly he left empty-handed. Even still, this is a great spot to pick out a new novel, and a great chance to support an independent bookseller!
