After we ordered, we chose to eat inside. This places gets a lot of foot traffic and is definitely a local fav! Unfortunately, for us, only the chicken tasted like it had some good flavor to it, everything else looked good, but was missing something. I'd still go back and try again, there seems to be a rotating menu. I will say that the chicken is delicious! It has to be their specialty. We tried almost every available chicken options the day we went except for the baked version. For two plates and two drinks, we paid about $35. And they were not light on the portions! Good place for some southern food.

The grits, which are surprisingly hard to get right, might be the best I've ever had. The bacon was perfectly crispy, the biscuit was soft and fresh, and there was more than enough for both of us to share. The vibes here are like having breakfast at your favorite auntie's house--warm, relaxed, and full of love. There's even a TV in the corner with gentle background noise, which somehow just completes the whole experience. Our server was so kind and patient, taking time to explain the options and make us feel welcome. This place is a true community treasure--thoughtfully run, consistently delicious, and full of heart.

I managed about ten, and everything was well prepared, generous, and full of flavor. The communal-table atmosphere makes the meal feel less like dining at a restaurant and more like being welcomed into a very large Savannah family dinner. The service was warm and attentive, and the whole experience felt genuine rather than staged for tourists. For anyone visiting Savannah, Mrs. Wilkes is a must. Come hungry.

The hospitality is off the charts. You need to come early at least a half hour as the line quickly grows. You sit and eat family style. The host will assign you to your table with others to fill it up. 8 to a table. There is sweet tea waiting for you and dish after dish of goodness! Then they bring out the fried chicken on platters. 21 different bowls of southern dishes- okra, rutabagas, greens, beans, corn, biscuits and corn bread.... Oh my there was a lot. You will not go hungry as the staff are near each table and bringing refills of items needed. Then when you've had your fill, they bring by peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream on top and/or banana pudding! They take cash or check only. They thankfully had an ATM inside. But the man at the cash register said we could leave and go to our own bank if we wanted and come back to pay!! That wouldn't happen at very many places. Southern hospitality, great food, memories- it is all here. Don't miss this place when you come to Savannah!!

Our waiter was great and attentive and made sure all of our ordered were correct w no issues! They were busy both nights we visited so we could tell they were well enjoyed in the community. They have an outdoor patio but we didn't sit outside since it was chilly out. Highly recommend for a solid burger and good vibes!

This was highly rated and close to me so I decided to stop by and boy am I glad I did! This is first rate Jamaican food done really well. I had oxtails a couple of patties, jerk chicken, and carrot cake and everything was on point! I especially loved the oxtail gravy which they poured plenty over my rice and peas and I thought the jerk seasoning was authentic. This is a small spot in a strip mall with a couple of tables so this is mostly a takeout operation. But the young lady that waited on me was very helpful, explaining a lot of of the menu, what was fresh and what the days deals were. Definitely plan on making this one of my go to spots.
