From design to execution, every step of the process was thoughtful, professional, and seamless. We started with home shows and reading reviews and reached out to three different companies. We met one face to face at a home show, they didn't respond after. Another came out to our home, took some photos and came back a week later with an uninspired design and a sprinkler quote that was 3x larger than Ravenscourt. Shawn came out to our home, took photos and we made a small payment for a design proposal. When it was ready, Shawn and Laurin had my wife and I to their home and walked us through their vision for the yard. Laurin put so much thought into every detail, it was clear they genuinely cared about making this yard special for us. There was no pressure, just excitement, and you could see how passionate they are about what they do. Once the work started, Shawn explained the process step by step, introduced the team, and they got to it. The crew was there every morning, ready to go, and if bad weather delayed things, Shawn was on top of it and let us know right away. Throughout the project, he checked in regularly to see how we felt about the progress. If we had questions or ideas, he was always happy to listen and explain things. Honestly, having Shawn stop by with updates was probably one of the highlights of my day during the whole process. From start to finish, the project took about 7-8 weeks. The transformation was incredible. Since then, we've had friends over who can't stop raving about how great the yard looks. I even caught a couple of people sneaking photos!. Shawn and Lauren came to our house in early spring, to review our 'wish list' and problem areas of our yard. First and most importantly we wanted a patio, with a pergola. Large enough for a picnic table, nothing fussy but maybe something causal like that at an ice house. Next I wished for a small Louisiana inspired courtyard to remind me of home. We needed extra storage because we only have a small one car garage that is full of bikes, so maybe a bike shed. And I needed something easy to maintain that would be wildlife friendly like a little woodland park.. We also needed to look at our yard and irrigation. Lauren looked over our space and listened to me ramble about my dream yard. Shawn measured everything. Our 2nd meeting was at their home/office and the plans were revealed. Lauren had listened and her beautiful design captured all my wishes. Shawn reviewed the entire plant list, materials and costs. The proposal was professional, completely detailed with photos and names of each plant and flower, photos of previous projects that were similar, and broken up in the following components - Yard Landscaping - Pergola - Bike Shed - Flagstone Patio - Side Yard Screen (for courtyard) - Raised Bed - Irrigation. This way we could select which project for now and for later. We had to wait til August for our project to begin and we had them do ALL of the projects. We have exactly what was detailed in the proposal and are very pleased. I love the flagstone path around my yard, it is like walking in a park. The raised bed has irrigation and tons of sun so my herbs should be very happy. I am seeing new birds and butterflies and hummingbirds that I hadn't seen before. Lauren and Shawn make the perfect team. Their enthusiasm is enchanting, it is wonderful to hear them describe the flora and fauna on the project, one day I will be able to tell you the names of all 28 new plants and flowers that were added to my yard. Project: Zoysia grass, flag stone pavers and trim placed around my rocks. ***Of note, prior to laying anything down he surfaced the ground and made sure drainage was up to par, which is Houston as we know is huge! Fast forward months: - grass is looking amazing -- thick, full, great color, filling in -- (aside from a few spots from my dog getting on it by accident) - flagstone is firm, solid and gravel in between is staying put after they sprayed sealer (well worth it) - drainage is amazing, no flooding, water runs appropriately Would happily do business with these gentleman any day of the week. Initially I was told Mon- Tues with 3-4 guys working. By noon, I was texting him asking when the guys were going to arrive and he said they would t be there till Tues. There were 3 guys the first day to cut trees, but the work took until Friday because there was really only one guy working for Wed and Thurs and two guys in Friday. There was more work to be done and Ernest told me he would need to order supplies. I've had to follow up several times to see when they are coming back to finish although I was I initially told the following Mon, then Friday and now TBD. This has been particularly frustrating because we are trying to get our house ready for sell and was not able to show it while there were workers here and the 'curb appeal' was not where we wanted it without the work being done. I am still waiting for the rest of the work to be done and may increase the rating for quality as long as they finish the work- TBD... UPDATE: They never finished the work they agreed to do which was adding stone around the rest of our trees. I feel like we over paid for labor that was never completed (we were going to pay additional for the materials which we had agreed on) Ernest never got back to me and has ignored the follow up texts and calls. Once you finally answered after I also called you numerous times and promised to call me by the next business day, which never happened (I have record of this and my text messages). There was 2 people in the backyard that could have simply moved, but you left "because of the weather" so please do not bring up another excuse for getting paid $250 just to mow my lawn/move some brick and not completing the work we agreed on. I never mentioned anything about windows either so that's irrelevant. You also failed to follow up with the Better Business Bureau which also talks about your lack of commitment to follow up. The only reason why I left it alone is because God blessed me with forgiveness. Maybe you needed this lesson or the money more than I did. So take care and please leave me alone.
