I was happily greeted by the man behind the counter. After observing the menu, which included not just buns, but ice cream, smoothies , bubble tea and some sandwiches and salads, I approached the counter. I said, "Since it's Buns Cafe, I should try your buns, right??" And he happily obliged... they have regular sized ones and mini ones... which honestly don't look all that small, and you can get 3 for $5 (or the regular sized one for $4). The frosting was thick on it too! The man asked me if I wanted it heated, and how could I say no? I went to sit down and I dug into it. Phenomenal. It melted in my mouth, the temperature was perfect, and I really liked the flavor of the frosting. It was more than just vanilla. I thought New Deal Cafe had a decent variety of draft beers. Ok, so the selection included three IPAs and one lager. However, IPAs are my beer go-to so it worked for me. The service at the bar was great. Our bartender, Renee, was quite hilarious. I got the sense that this is local "where everybody knows you name" because the customers seemed super social with each other. Looking forward to our next New Deal Cafe visit.
