We booked a reservation with the library room and the staff and managers were absolutely amazing. They welcomed us with open arms and went or of their way to make us feel welcome. We looked around in the area for a place to host our birthday celebration (kind of last minute) and we had a restaurant that didn't want our business. So we came back to Lansdowne Arms and Megan the hostess/waitress helped us out the first day and she was incredibly helpful! Kyle was the manager on duty and Katelyn was our waitress and both of them were so incredible. I would come back and recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food is great. The drinks are great. I'm shocked to see this restaurant has only 3 stars. It was recommended by a friend and is honestly the most pleasant dining experience we've had in quite a while. Service was fast, food was delicious, and this place is clean. Our server, Tyler, was friendly, attentive without being intrusive, and brought requested items immediately. What impressed me as well was how all the employees seemed cheerful and genuinely glad to be there. We ordered the chicken bacon ranch sandwich, which was good. A tad dry, due to being on thick toasted sourdough, but I appreciate it not swimming in dressing. I would add a side cup of ranch dressing if I order it again - my fault for being too interested in watching baseball to ask. One of us had fries, the other coleslaw. Fries were tasty, but the coleslaw was amazing - not sweet, not drenched in mayo, not vinegary. Whatever the dressing was, it was perfect. The raisins added a lightly sweet touch (there aren't a lot, just enough). Can't wait to go back and try other menu items. read more

Having ordered to-go from this pub before with the service friendly, quick, and food great, I had a vastly different experience today. After waiting nearly 20 minutes after placing my order, I finally located a server (the check-in desk remained mostly abandoned) and asked about it. He said he would check on it. More minutes go by with no word. The guy who placed my order in the first place never returned. Then I asked another server, and he said that he would check on it. Finally I said it's been a long time to the prior male server, and he finally asked the guy who took my order (had a beard). Unbelievably, the bearded server snapped while looking at me, "It's really busy back there." Having worked in restaurants, the thought of saying such a thing to a customer was unconscionable; even moreso to a customer who had been waiting around 30 minutes by this time, with no communication as to the order eta. Finally the first guy (not beard-guy) said my order was placed just after 20 orders had come in (as some form of excuse, I suppose); but he never apologized for the wait or even offered me a water or tea--nothing. Ok, all of us who have worked in good restaurants know the protocol: COMMUNICATION TO THE CUSTOMER. When beard-guy snapped, I couldn't believe the rudeness, but also because he must think the customer who placed a to-go order isn't busy?! That is why to-go orders are placed--time expediency. My main complaint is that throughout this ridiculous experience, NOT ONE of those servers told me how long the wait would be so that I could make an informed decision whether to wait or not; no one ever said 'So sorry for the wait'; and most incredulously, NO ONE SAID 'THANK YOU'. NO ONE. Bearded guy just handed the order over rudely. I will not ever go back there, even though their food is good. I suppose my not ordering alcohol was the reason I was treated so shamefully. Personally, I am not the biggest fan of this restaurant. I am a vegetarian, and I can tell you right now that if you are too you better be looking forward to a modified salad from their menu. I am afraid that their selection is just not huge. However, my mom seems to really like it. It has a great location and sometimes has live music. I personally do nit see it's appeal, but others do. In the last 5 years we have had some pretty good experiences here, but I will never be back due to our last one. I sent the manger an email over two months ago and never heard back regarding our experience. Here was my review sent to the manager: Hello! We hosted a going away party for our friends at this location last night and brought in about 30 people. There was a miscommunication between the server and many people ordering drinks. Prior to happy hour began, myself and one other person ordered a vodka lemonade. Once happy hour began, three other people began ordering the same. Someone else in our party asked are server if they were on happy hour and our server said no, so we went to ask our server why they they wouldn't be, since they were a well drink. Our server said she had been charging us for "huckleberry" lemonades and that there was nothing she could do. We then spoke to the manager, who took off $1 per drink, initially, when there was a $3.50 difference in price per drink. We went round and round explaining that we intentionally ordered happy hour drinks and the manager was incredibly rude, saying he was "being more than fair" with us. At this time, our party was ordering many drinks and a lot of food, and we were the majority of the business on the upstairs patio. One of my friends explained how she works in the service industry and this isn't how you handle a mistake on behalf of the server. Another server thought it would be great to jump in and say that huckleberry lemonades do not even taste the same, making us feel like it was our mistake. She then rolled her eyes and said loudly as she walked away, "I doubt you've ever worked in the service industry." (We have had this server on several occasions in the past- she often has an attitude, but nothing terrible) At that point, the manager, our server, and another server were discussing the issue with us. We ordered around 12-15 of these drinks, so yes, the monetary discrepancy was upsetting, but more so, it was the way that we were treated. It was awkward and demeaning. The manager made me feel cheap, like myself and my friends were in the wrong for saying anything. It's also upsetting because my husband and I live close by and this had been one of our choice neighborhood bars for the past 5 years. I also went to one of your partner locations, Jordan's, while I studied at DU. I honestly have never felt treated so poorly at any restaurant or bar in my life. It has gone downhill. I had corned beef and cabbage and it was disappointing. The 2 carrots were barely cooked, there was 1/2 of a small red potato and lots of corned beef. But it was blah no bread and lots of juice so was I supposed to drink it out of the bowl? The cost was $13.99 and really not worth it. Horrible service! Our waitress was rude and inattentive. She spilled water on our food that took an hour to get after the 1/2 hour it took to ordered drinks and another 1/2 hour before we had a chance to order our food. Yes, we could have used an appetizer but by the time our waitress came we did not want to miss our chance to get our order in. And, no, it was not during a busy night or time, in fact we watched our waitress sitting at a table chatting with her friends when we wanted another round of drinks. My boyfriend and two of our friends went here last night and let me tell you... it was AMAZING!!!!!! I usually have horrible experiences eating out places and it was amazjng. I got the Atlantic salmon over spinach and mashed potatoes with an herb butter sauce. It was phenomenal, and beautifully decorated on the plate. Everything we ate was delicious. Poor service. Employees are not engaged and do not seem to be happy. Was just at the bar and after 15 minutes and no one saying hi I asked for a manager. The bartender walked by me at least 12 times and even washed and stacked glasses right in front of me. When I complained, they offered to buy me a beer. Never a I am sorry or any kind of apology. I had some "sliders" ... which were very good, but could have had a little more meat on them for the price. Mostly disappointed in two things. 1. One of the sliders was cooked with saran wrap (embedded in the meat) ... very gross. 2. I called to complain to the manager and he apologized and said he would let the chef know. You might think 2 is a not a complaint... it is. I used to live in a city that had the highest number of restaurants per capita in the USA. It is EXPECTED to provide something complementary as an apology and incentive to return. I'm probably not going to return to that restaurant in the future. Visited for the first time yesterday. My wife had the burger and I had the Dubliner. We enjoyed a fruit fly on the cucumber and the med-rare (ordered) burger was so well done it was crunchy. Win or loose over 30 bucks.... Their menu advertises kids eat for $1.50 - 10-2 on Sundays. But the way it is written "one kids meal for $1.50 per adult meal" requires that you ask to clarify - which we (my wife and I) did, as it seemed too good to be true (I have pictures of the menu to confirm). The server clarified that the kids deal included the menu in hand by saying it and pointing to the menu - which was not a kids menu, but the regular menu - as we were not given kids menus. When the check came there was no promotion pricing - full price only. When we approached the waitress and assistant manager (who even called the Owner of the Restaurant), they told us we were out of luck and that they would not now honor the promotion, even though the wait staff admitted to her prior clarification - this was an embarrassing event where the assist manager continued to insult our group and not honor the advertising, or wait staff direct clarification. Bait, confirm, and switch cost us - this seems illegal to me. Even if this was an honest mistake made by staff, the assistant manager approach made it seem like a set-up as he made no attempt to settle the issue. As I explored through their huge menu a popular and classic dish was brought to my attention: Bangers and Mash. The presentation of this classic dish was well done. They had a huge bowl full of mash potatoes with crossed sausage links across the top. I enjoy loud and lively atmosphere with dining standards that are clean but not white table cloth dress up style places. This Irish Pub is full of energy and definitely the hang out spot on a friday night for the locals. Its warm and cozy as you step foot into this small prime location. It has a huge upstairs area where you can gather and look at the downtown skyline or the Rocky Mountains and eat wonderful food. It really brings you back to food that you can get in Ireland because I have been their and I know what authentic Irish food taste like. It has a good team their that deliverers food quick and swiftly. I enjoyed the atmosphere you get at this place. It makes it feel very cozy and friendly. The bar has a lot of beer and wine choices just like the menu. It offers burgers, classic Irish dishes ,and salads. If your a big menu guy and love to have options than this place hits on all levels. Lansdowne for the most part is always crowded with locals every night of the week so I recommend getting their early to head up to the outside patio. Lansdowne is ultimately a bar so younger kids and infants I would not recommend got their due to the face that there will be drunk people wondering around. As far as price goes its not cheap. Each dish is pushing the 10 dollar mark. When you add a few beers or drinks to the tab it can run up pretty easily. I would also say on friday and saturday nights this place is probably not the best place for family dinner due to the fact that its more of a bar style than family style. Overall I enjoyed eating here and If you like bar style food that is authentic to its roots than this is the place for you! read more
