I came out to Denver for an offsite management meeting, and learned that we were having a group dinner at Lansdowne Arms Pub. As most Yelpers, I immediately looked it up on my Yelp app and I was a bit confused on the planner's choice. Why would they pick an Irish pub? I guess my choice would have been a restaurant, but I was open minded and somewhat excited about an Irish meal. The place screamed Irish pub from the moment I walked in. The place is dimly illuminated with extensive wood work throughout. Our group had the library room reserved, which was pretty warm in ambiance, which perfectly suited the outside subzero winter conditions. The fireplace was a perfect touch, making the place very cozy. It's definitely not a date place, but where you might have a few cold ones with your friends. The only negative thing was that we all sat at separate tables in groups of five, as the tables were round and couldn't be clustered together. At our table we begun with the obvious, a selection of beers and cocktails. We also ordered the Pub Style Pot Steamed Mussels and Buffalo Style Spicy Chicken Wings as starters. The average sized mussels were excellent in a white wine, garlic butter, tomato and basil sauce with garlic toast. The wings were well seasoned but unfortunately on the dry side. When it came down to ordering our entrees, I asked our waiter for a recommendation on a traditional Irish dish, after all I was at a Irish pub. He recommended the Sirloin Shepherd's Pie, a stout marinated and braised sirloin served with leeks, carrots, peas and onions, topped with traditional Irish cheddar mashed potatoes then baked creating a thin crisp layer. I really enjoyed it, a hearty meal with interesting savory flavors. For dessert I had Bread Pudding that was not too sweet (bonus) and on the firm side, topped with whipped cream and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Not to shabby and definitely has potential for being shared. The service was really personable and attentive. Our waiter did an amazing job hustling and keeping up with everyone's wishes. It was a good meal, but not a place I would go to have dinner at as my first priority. Without argument it's a perfect place to have few beers with a burger, and watch a sports game. I really struggled rating it, as it's somewhere in between three and four stars. I settled on four stars, rating it as a pub and not as a restaurant. read more

Went St Patty's Saturday for lunch. Downstairs is very loud. Not real sure how you order anything really. Ended up sitting upstairs on the deck. Up there has a limited menu and a lot of steps. You don't want to get hammered up there and try to get down those stairs. Took the fam and it worked out alright. Picky teen and finicky toddler. Everyone ate well even if on the pricey side. Location is great - but I've never had good service here. Of the half dozen visits that I've made I can't think of a single time when the service was even marginal. Dropped in for brunch on a Sunday morning. The Good: The Irish Breakfast. Our friend whom we ran into at Lansdown recommended it and it was quite good. Not the type of bangars I am used to, but the rest was quite good. The Irish Soda Bread was fantastic. The patio is nice as well. Bring your shades & sunscreen and sit outside. The OK: Drinks. They are on the average to high in price ($5.50 for draft) and they ran out of cider and didn't have a new keg to tap until Tuesday. Boo! My breakfast & 1 beer was over $20, which is a little hefty to me. The Bad: Service was terrible. But, I'm not sure why. There seemed to be plenty of servers on the patio. But, ours rarely dropped by the table, we had to kind of yell things at him as he whizzed by to another table, he completely forgot things we asked for, it just sucked. I have heard that we get better service when we show up as a large meetin.org group for Happy Hour on the roof, so I will probably come back for that. But, there are plenty of other places to go for brunch with a patio, so I'll be checking those out before coming back here. read more

We tried Lansdowne Arms for the first time today. I ordered the Fish and chips. I told our server that my food had to be hot. The fish was hot but the fries were COLD!!! We made our server aware of the problem. I got hot fries, but it was a very skimpy portion. The portion was almost half of the cold fries. Our server abandoned us for about an hour. Will I be back??? Let's say I wouldn't seek it out as my first choice. $17 for a skimpy fish and chips. I don't think so. read more

Pleasantly surprised every time I eat here. The service is very prompt and the food is very good. This is based on the last two times I've been here. The shepherds pie and the fish and chips are very good. The steak in the steak salad was a little chewy but the flavor was good. The green chili was also impressive. By far the best dish that I have had here is the Irish nachos. The corn beef was the best corn beef that I've ever had. It was amazingly flavorful and tender. I have found that you get better/faster service sitting in the dining room verses the bar. The beer selection is pretty good and the wine isn't bad either. Irish pub with the classic Irish feeling. A good place to get together with some friends for a nice cold beer. We went on a snowy Sunday and we are a family. They have booths to accommodate family but it is not your traditional family restaurant. It looks great from outside and there is plenty of free parking. It is located in a strip mall. We ate from their Sunday brunch menu and the eggs Benedict are very good. The whisky grill chicken and the kids chicken nuggets were not average. The Cuban sandwich and the goat cheese salad was awesome. We did not try and we're not offered to try desert. The drinks were good and they age a ice variety of beer. I had a mimosa and my husband had a dark beer. We liked both. The only reason I gave them a 4 star is that the service was slow and the overall experience was not perfect one. read more

TL;DR: Another prefab sports bar. I don't really have much to say about this place, other than the term "Irish" is very misleading. The "Traditional" Irish food is anything but. "Irish Breakfast" was DRY and overcooked and in dire need of gravy or something. The Shepherds Pie was mediocre and small. The Bangers & Mash was uninspired and could be duplicated exactly with three off-the-shelf items from the grocery store. The Cod Fish & Chips was not too bad - the breading was tasty. All in all, I think this place falls on it's face as a plastic paddy pub concept, due to trying to be all things to all men. BBQ? Check. Mexican food? Check. Bar food? Check. Sadly, this place has a lot of potential but currently it reminds me more of TGI Friday's or Applebee's than an Irish pub. read more

Ate at Lansdowne Arms on 7/19/2020. We were seated on the patio without a wait, and the interior and bar area had very few people seated in the two areas. Our waiter let us know that 3 different waitstaff would be able to serve us on the patio. Our order was taken right away and the food arrived quickly. The food was good served hot ad tasted good. Unfortunately once the food arrived we evidently became invisible to the entire waitstaff, We ate our dinner and once our glasses were empty there was no more drinks to be had. No water, no nothing this went on for 15-20 minutes while all of the members of the waitstaff including the manager walked by our table probably in excess of 15 times. We were seated directly outside the door that they used to go in and out, so we were not hard to see. I moved my empty plate to the edge of table and a passing waitress picked it up. No questions were asked and no drink refills offered. My wife had leftovers and wanted a to go box. After waiting 15 more minutes we got up to leave no check no to go box. The boxes were just inside the door at the bar so while getting a box myself one of the waiters finally spoke! he said please don't touch those I can get it. By that time I had the box already. We put the leftover food in the box and requested our check and to speak to the manager. The manager came to the bar and I told him that the service that we experienced was terrible and the worst we had received in a long time. The manager did not say one word, one of the waitresses apologized and said she had only been working there two days she offered to buy us a drink, we declined paid our check and left. the manager never spoke a single word to us. It is easy to see where the waitstaff gets their skills and training regarding ignoring customers. It is too bad because the food was decent but with service and management like that I would absolutely not recommend and absolutely would not go back. 5 Stars for their Curry Chicken which is so flavorful. Its got a little mushroom flavor too. I also give their Shepherds Pie a 5 star. During Covid I just simply call ahead, picked it up and took it home. They added to the bag with garlic bread. Its amazing. When restrictions were lifted and we ate in the bar, the owner came by our table and gave us a sample of his new Kahlua & Cream shot he now produces in bottle format - I'm not sure what its called but its flavorful and potent - it had so much flavor compared to the ones you buy at the liquor store. Just a friendly place that's doing the best hospitality they can during the circumstances and having amazing food. Even the hostess that gives my carryout is super sweet. I think this place is improving. The staff is super friendly and the food is always really good! Has the most life of any place in this area of town. Before COVID they actually opened up the upstairs deck and the bar was hopping. I hadn't seen this in many years. I think there might be some newer management or something. I ate here a few days ago. The food was high fat and over cooked. I ordered the breaded shrimps which were more bread than shrimp and were over cooked to the point of being like rocks. If I could leave 0 stars I would. It started off well and went down hill fast. Apps came out 1 min before Salad, followed promptly by our meals. We asked them prior to give us time with each course. We sent the main course back so we could finish our apps and salads. They brought our entrees cold and hard and said they remade it. One of the meals was completely wrong. It took 15 minutes for the manager to come over. He had two meals replaced but by that time we were just over the service. It took several requests to flag down our waitress and it is not busy at all. They manager did not care and we are still waiting on our bill! Terrible service, but what we did eat, it was good food. This review has nothing to do with the food. For me, customer service is a HUGE part of the 'eating out' experience. We had a large party on a Saturday night, I get it. Any popular restaurant should be equipped and trained on how to accurately estimate timing, communicate frequently with parties who are waiting and may be waiting longer than they were quoted. It's really not hard. Just talk to people. We had a terrible experience with a bored hostess and an extremely unprofessional manager. We were asked if we wanted to split our party up and sit at separate tables but at that time were not informed that we would be running way past our quoted time. The manager then told us that it's Saturday night and we shouldn't expect everything to be right on time. He also undermined the amount of time we had been waiting. He was defensive and rude. To the manager, here is how you properly handle a situation like this: "I am so sorry your table is not available. We gave what we thought was a good time quote but the table we are waiting on the get up is taking longer than expected. Thank you so much for your patience. Is there anything I can get you while you wait? I'd love to offer your table an appetizer on us." (or any gesture would have been nice, it doesn't have to be money or food). You are the manager. Your job is to create an environment where people feel taken care of and appreciated. You absolutely failed. Also, you might want to train your staff how to communicate better. You can not over communicate in a situation like this. We've eaten here a couple of times and the food is alright. The service is usually ok-ish too. It's an "it is what it is" kind of place for us. But, because of this experience we probably wont be back and would recommend that nobody else goes back unless it's St. Patty's day and you feel the need to go to an Irish place. read more

Food has improved and so have the customers. It used to be more of a cougar den than it is now. Now it is just a normal divorcee hang out with less pretense. Good happy hour and great beers with all the people watching make this a fun and entertaining place to go in the neighborhood. Living in Highlands Ranch has its ups and downs. Being relatively young and not yet married with children leaves me yearning for more of a nightlife in and around my neighborhood. I have to say, I'm afraid HR is still not quite there. But if there is one glimmer of hope in my search for a bar open later than 11:30, it may very well be Lansdowne Arms. I've been there several times and I've always had really good service. They often have small bands play inside (ah, my ringing ears) or upstairs on the patio (oh good, I can actually hear what my friends are saying)! It seems to be the best in the warm months when they can open up the "hangar" doors. The atmosphere and mood are so much better with the open air! I've eaten lunch here once. They have some traditional Irish Pub fare. I had fish and chips and my boyfriend had some crazy meal with blood sausage and other weird stuff. He seemed to enjoy it so I didn't question his choice. So here's to a place with a nightlife in HR. Please don't let me down. read more

There is no excuse for bad service. Isn't that why we pay more to go out to eat, aside from not doing dishes is for someone to serve our drinks and food to us.
