After avoiding the dentist for longer than I care to admit, I scheduled an appointment with Lansdowne Family Dental. Contrary to some reviews, the experience was very smooth. I had the opportunity to fill out paperwork in advance, and advise the office of my fears and concerns. Sonali did a fantastic job with the cleaning, and was very personable. While I didn't spend a great amount of time with Dr. Vu, he seemed very kind and knowledgeable as well. read more

The first appointment I made was for a flipper. I was told to come at a certain time only to be told when I got there that the person who does the flippers doesn't come in on that day...ever. So why would you tell me to come in? Then I was told to come pick up my flipper today at 3. I asked to confirm whether or not it would be ready at that time, and the person at the front confirmed that it would. I asked to double check since one person said 4, and another said 330. I should have known then the extent of their disorganization. I show up at 3 on a workday and was told it won't be ready for another 40 minutes. I asked why I was told to come at 3, and she said she would ask. All I hear is her and the person who gave me the wrong time gossiping and she disappeared. No explanation or apology was given. When I went back, she gives me an attitude and sarcastically asks if everything is ok. I explained that its an issue to give someone an appointment time and then not honor it, especially on a workday. No explanation or apology was given by her, again. She then asks a couple of pointless and idiotic follow up questions, I'm guessing in a desperate attempt to try to imply that their disorganization was my fault . She is a pathetic excuse for a professional, and the office lacks organization and tact. read more

This has been the best dentist that I have been to in such a long time. I have been to many offices, and they have found a way to terrify me even more. However, since coming here, Dr. Vu has been a lifesaver. All of my work has been completed, and I would highly recommend him to anyone who has fears like I do or none at all. read more

I would not recommend this dentist. I went in for a cleaning about two years ago. I had eaten popcorn and had a piece stuck in the back of my mouth. During the cleaning, the hygienist exacerbated the problem by pushing the popcorn down in my gum. It became painful and infected. I had to go back and at that point the dentist said I would need a root canal. She recommended an endodontist and I scheduled an appointment. I had to come out of my pocket for the specialist but after the exam, the endodontist found the popcorn and removed it. That was the issue. I have healthy teeth and did not need a root canal. Hell, I didn't even need scaling!!! Fast forward to today and my attempt to get my nephew's dental records. They would not release them because of $25. I ask what is this for and they say because I missed an appointment in 2014!!! After causing me and my insurance company money for a specialist, these petty Paula's have the nerve to withhold records for $25?!?! Save your time and money. Find a more qualified dental practice. Clearly they aren't good if they are nickeling and diming to this extent. I wish I could give no stars. read more

I've been going to Lansdown Family Dental for several years now, even after I moved out of the neighborhood. It's hard to find good dentist that you can trust. I had an appointment this past weekend to have some cavities filled and I am extremely apprehensive when it comes to needles. All of my fears were laid to rest when the dentist (who has always been friendly and welcoming) looked at my problem area and told me we would not need anesthesia, aka NO NEEDLES! I had an 11am appointment, was in the chair by 11:06, and was back in my car on my way to the mall at 11:25. No pain. No numbness. No problems. Best dentist visit EVER!!! :) read more

From the front desk staff to the dental hygienist to Dr. Vu Nguyen, the experience at Lansdowne Family Dental is a positive and smooth one. I got a filling replaced - one of my least favorite things - and it was actually pleasant, chatting before and after. The work was great - the best kind of dental work doesn't leave you in pain and your teeth just look normal! I also really liked the office being in a home - it gave it a comfortable feeling that put me at ease, when I would usually be nervous! I would recommend this practice to any friend or family member. I was pretty excited about coming here coming here after being referred by a friend but, I majorly disappointed. After coming in aty scheduled appointment time I was asked to complete about 10 pages of admissions paperwork one of which was a credit card authorization form (which I personally found strange and have never seen before at a dental office). After waiting in the lobby for approximately 15min a women whose appointment was scheduled after me goes in before me!!!! I calmly wait another 15min before commenting to the receptionist about how long I've been sitting. She walks me back to a dental chair where I wait for another 15-20min before a women wearing a mouth mask walks over to me. Does not introduce herself but asks me "what can we do for you" I explain everything to her just for her to tell me that they need a copy of my last x-ray...I inform her that I have copies...then she tells me that "DOC will want to see my treatment plan from my previous appointment" and asks if I have one... Because "your insurance won't pay for another treatment plan" which I knew was bullshit because as a healthcare professional. A treatment plan is something that is tailored to each specific patient by a professional. As a professional it is up to you to evaluate and come up with a treatment plan not just use the one from my last appointment that had been created by another professional. Reason being one dentist may recommended a root canal while another may recommend an extraction that's part of the evaluation process. What is the point of me giving you the other treatment plan? I might as well stay with the dentist that created the plan in the first place. The unnamed person leaves the room then return the fax number of the office and recommended that I fax the treatment plan over. She says that the doctor will be right with me...after sitting in silence for another 10min I decide to walk out. This place is a joke and I have shared my experience with everyone I know and will continue to. This place is a shit show. read more

On 10/11/19, a Friday, around 1:00 PM, I had a HOWLING tooth but no dentist available coming into the weekend. Much PAIN. I contacted Lansdowne Family, randomly, and got an immediate appointment for 1:30 PM. With traffic, I was ran late but called ahead; they calmed me down, told me to take my time, be safe and that they would not turn me away. I think Q answered the phone, All off the people there were kind, considerate, professional and welcoming. Dr. Vu was clearly experienced, proficient and desirous of educating me on what he found out, after Annie, who had a calming impact on me, as well, took an X-ray. She was A+ and a great representative of the office. Dr. Vu indicated that one perhaps two teeth needed to come out. OUCH. However, he put no pressure on me to make a decision right then and there, but that another option, for the time being, would be that he could quell the pain with prescription of Motrin. Also, in the room was Margo, who also was a great person; she educated me on what was going on with my tooth and that they would take care of the pain. In any event, I decided not to have the tooth pulled; however, before departing I stood at the front desk, while Q called Walgreens, which took long, as she got into phone jail, but she was intent on completing the call, which she finally did. Q was great, and patient and supportive, while I stood there in great pain. The meds were ready, when I got to Walgreens and the pain subsided in a short while. Thank you. I was very pleased with LansdownFamily Dental until this Spring. I needed to have needed bridge work done. Before the procedure was started, I asked if it would be covered and provided the name of my insurance carrier. If the procedure was not covered , I did not intend to commence the procedure I received a call from James of Landsdowne Dental informing me that the procedure was covered. Therefore, I started the process. I later learned that the insurance carrier had informed Brad and another staff member on two occasions that the procedure would not be covered. The carrier spoke to Brad before the procedure was begun. Brad then proceed to provide me with several invoices with various amounts, Needless to say, the work has not been commpleted and the incomplete work is reflected in my appearance. I now have to see another dentist to complete the work. They are threatening to submit a bill for incompleted work to collection. Until this point, I was very pleased with the staff. They all seem to have a genuine care for their patients. However, what I encountered with Brad and the other administrative staff regarding the billing is unacceptable. They seem to think that there is nothing wrong with misinforming their patients. I disagree. Therefore, I rate this practice 1 star. JEC read more

My brother and his family have been going to the Lansdowne Family Practice. I had moved here a few years before and didn't have a dentist. So when I lost a crown a few days before thanksgiving, they worked me in and got it fixed. They were wonderful. read more

My husband visited this office last month. The office sent in a proposed treatment plan to his insurance plan. In the meantime, my husband's dental plan changed. I called this morning to determine if they were a participating provider in the new plan and would they have to submit a preapproval to the new company. The worker told me to call the company. I stated that generally the dental office would handle this. She then rudely stated she would check and call us back. She called back and said they participated. I then said that's great because that means my husband wouldn't have any out if pocket expenses. She then said that's not true. She couldn't tell us what the out of pocket costs would be. Also, she basically stated my husband had to visit the office again because he may need a new treatment plan. I asked her what could have possibly changed in two weeks. I don't believe she called the new insurance company and she treated us like we were asking for free services instead of being a paying customer. I hung up and told my husband to find another provider. DON'T go to this office! read more
