Short story, hopefully (beginning) - While on vacation, my MacBook Pro had a very unfortunate encounter with a local IPA beverage. In the frantic moments immediately after the incident, I did my very best to remove and dry out all liquid ... but to no avail, because by the next morning, my MacBook would not even power up. So upon my return from vacation, I visited my nearest _ _ _ _ _ store only hear doom and gloom regarding my current MacBook, because it is no longer under a care policy, but of course, everything would be better if only I were to buy a new laptop. Wow, there was absolutely no real discussion at all regarding possible options for fixing the MacBook that I already have.  Moving on (middle) - Well, disappointed with the outcome of that discussion, I decided to look for 3rd parties that might offer possible solutions to fixing my current MacBook. After researching I found LaptopMD in Morristown; a town that I'm in every day ... hum! So I stop by the shop, tell Tom my story and immediately he talks about things they could possibly do to save (repair) my laptop and if not, how they would make every effort to recover my files. Wow, alternative solutions to the doom and gloom offered by the genius. (End of story) - So long story short, I am submitting this review using my completely repaired MacBook Pro by LaptopMD of Morristown. It is working just like it did right out of the box when I first got it. There is something to be said about the positive attitude and approach I received from Tom on my initial visit, the informative follow-up conversations I had with Mike and Tom during the repair interval, and of course their competence in getting the job done. The great news is that my MacBook Pro lives! I am an extremely happy customer and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you use LaptopMD Morristown to address all your computer repair needs. Boy did the stars ever shine on me when I lucked into this place. Admittedly I did do a bit of research and discovered first that this outfit has been in business for 18 years and has had LOTS of good customer reviews. I called early in the morning, before they were open and got the after hours answer person and was quoted a ballpark price that was excellent and told for $69 dollars I could get my repair rushed! Since I'm visiting from Canada, AND I'm embarrassed to admit I have trashed the LCD screen on this MacBook laptop once before I knew I wanted to get it fixed here if I could because it cost me $900 to get it fixed the first time so it was cheaper here EVEN with the exchange!!!! I took it in Wed morning and left it with the idea that it would be done Friday afternoon or Sat am. Yesterday, THURSDAY, they called me and said it was done. I went and picked it up this morning and am so pleased. As another customer said, SEAMLESS, and excellent!! Excellent customer service, repair, communication and price! In the world today that is something that almost NEVER happens. I would give these boys 10 stars if I could! I took my HP Pavillion to LaptopMD in Morristown with broken hinges and no way to charge my laptop nor to retrieve my files. Mike took a look at my laptop and gave me options for the repair. I decided to go with the option to have Mike get into my non-working laptop, get the hard drive, and transfer my files to another laptop, an external hard drive, or a flash drive. He explained everything very clearly, and said he could do it all for a very reasonable fee. I returned a week later with a new laptop, and in very short time, Mike was able to do everything he said, and since there would be two users for this laptop, he created individual user accounts so that we could keep our files separate. He also ensured that my Office 365 subscription was installed. He patiently answered all my questions and I left the shop confident that I had everything I would need to be operational with the new laptop. I was also impressed with the text and email communications from the company answering my preliminary questions (I had not been referred; I learned of the shop through Google) and with the information about the repair and quote. My mother is a senior citizen and sometimes needs extra help managing her laptop. I live in a different state. My mother recently faced a laptop disaster requiring a full reinstall of the operating system and an attempt at data recovery. She found Laptop MD. We were very, very pleased with the service and help we received from Tom Gray at Laptop MD. Tom was willing to get on the phone with me (twice) when I called him from out-of-state. He explained what happened with my mother's laptop, and I was able to give him some software license information to help rebuild the computer. I was ready to hold a wake for my elderly flip phone when the death rattle began. First with a detached cover hanging by a wire, then a permanently black screen and finally, calls that I could answer but not hear the caller. I could not transfer any information to another phone because the charger port was damaged . (I had been switching out batteries with another phone whenever a charge was needed) So I began to come to terms with the fact that I couldn't retrieve any photos or texts or contacts until Verizon told me about this place. Tom at LaptopMD was not only helpful and super kind ( there seems to be a certain shame to still be using a flip phone) and gave me hope that my phone could be fixed. After 7 years of owning my MacBook Pro I seemed to finally (and unfortunately...) find a way to spill water all over the keyboard, subsequently causing my computer to shut down and not boot back up. I decided to go to LaptopMD and I'm very glad that I did! Tom was extremely helpful, talked me through the entire process of what he would do to try and assess the damage and then again when it was time to make repairs. Luckily for me, I only needed a new keyboard and nothing else was damaged. I previously used LaptopMD to fix my laptop (two different ones) and they were super helpful. I didn't think of them to help with my iPhones but my 4 of the phones on my family plan were nearing the two year old mark and the battery life was non-existent. The phones were unusable unless they were constantly plugged in. Then I remembered LaptopMD had some advertisement about helping phones, the last time I was in the store. I took in two of my phones and the prices to replace the batteries seemed in line with or less than most other after market places that I've seen. They also replaced the screen on my kid's phone. The price was reasonable and it was done in about an hour. I was really happy with them and will look to bring the other two phones in this week. read more

I've had two very positive experiences at LaptopMD Morristown. First, I had to have a temperamental laptop touch screen repaired after I closed it on a phone charger wire. CRACK! Wasn't cheap, but would've likely been more expensive elsewhere... I had 2 places tell me they couldn't even do it. This time, I had a wire replaced that had gotten worn down when I would open and close the top. Dropped it for diagnosis. Got the part ordered. Brought it back the next week to be repaired while I was working and I was able to pick it up on my way home a few hours later. Super quick and works like new! Tom was great and very knowledgeable. He fixed my shredded glass iPhone in 15 minutes. Good customer service and personality and expertise. A job well done. Only reason for four stars instead of five is the price was way more than I have ever paid in California. But apparently it's fairly standard in New Jersey. Even with yelp discount after-tax it's $30 more than I've ever paid before. But again could just be proximity I find a lot of things here are more expensive than back west. Thanks. I can replace my own phone screen, I've done it in the past. However, I prefer to take my broken phone screens and laptops to LaptopMD - why? Peace of mind that it's getting done right and at an affordable price. Last go around was for me to buy the screen, digitizer, and frame parts for my son's LG phone and struggle for an hour only to save a few bucks... These guys are terrific. Had a MacBook Pro that I tried to reset myself .. but I couldn't reload the OS. I brought it in and within an hour I got a call back telling me my computer was ready for pickup. Now my son has a cool (new-ish) computer that he loves! It's clear there's a HIGH level of competence here - not only based on my experience but what I've heard from others and what I V overheard when I was standing in their shop. Laptop MD completely helped bring my computer back to life by fixing its screen. Every time I spoke with someone there they seemed very knowledgeable and assisted me with getting the help I needed. They replaced my hp computer screen which Bestbuy, nor other tech stores were willing to do. I am from Livingston and drove to Morristown. This is the place to have your screen of any device repaired or replaced. My lap top screen needed replacement and it was done in less than 5 days. I was quoted a price within 1 day and had my machine back 3 days later. The price was more than fair and was exactly what I was quoted. Tom and Mike are great techs, with personality! Emailed them about my dead iPhone (not charging) - I suspected either the charging port or a bad battery. They emailed me back right away and asked me to bring it in for a free evaluation. I brought it in the next day and they had it fixed within 15 minutes! Problem? Pocket lint plugging up the charging port. Boy did I feel stupid. Best of all - NO CHARGE! I brought my computer to LaptopMD in Morristown because of a virus that must have been deeply embedded in the computer. Of course, I should have contacted Laptop MD at the first instance of flashing lights and noises, but I found out how to shut down and start again. Steven was very knowledgeable and immediately was able to identify what the problem was. He was able to give me a free evaluation of the problem and had it fixed in 2hrs. I first went to the big box store and was told there was a fee just to look at my laptop and it would take appropriately 2weeks before I knew what was wrong and if it could be fixed. I brought an IPhone in to have the glass replaced because we thought it was cracked. Michael Lalmsley assisted my wife and I. It wasn't the glass but the film protecting the glass. Michael could have easily replaced the glass and charged us. Instead he gave the phone back and didn't want any money. This is my second repair at Laptop MD, I was out of town and dropped my phone - a 6s so I called the person who fixed my iPad broken screen here and got a price quote of $80 and time estimate of 15mins , So I came in next day, while waiting worked on my laptop on their wireless and phone was done in 20 mins BTW a relative of mine bought a replacement screen on Amazon for less and the resolution and accuracy isn't what it should be. I can validate great service here. My iphone 6 stopped charging, and I thought it needed a new charger port. Called a competitor and they quoted $75. Called LaptopMD and they quoted $60 - and could look at it right away. Took it in, and within minutes they determined the port just needed to be cleaned for a nominal charge...and I was on my way in minutes. I like that they were fast, friendly, and honest.
