I enjoyed the food I had here. I've had more flavorful versions of these dishes, but the dishes I had were good nonetheless. The service was great and the food came out fast. The noodle to veggie/meat ratio could use work on the Drunken Noodles. There were barely any noodles. Also there was a container of sugar on the table which can easily be mistaken for salt, so heads up!!!

Larb Zaab is solid Thai spot located in Wollaston! I recently visited this spot and tried their Thai-ny Boat Noodle bowl. First, I loved the name "Thai-ny" as it was clever for the small bowl. When it came out it was actually a little bit bigger than I though. Second, although the bowl was "tiny", the noodle bowl was packed full of flavor! I got their dry noodles with beef and it was so good. This is the perfect appetizer to pair with any of their dishes or if you're not that hungry. The noodles were perfectly cooked and everything was seasoned well. This definitely was made with love! The chicken satay was also good, just a little bit dry. The coconut flavor really stood out and paired well with the provided sauces. The restaurant itself is on the smaller end but there are a handful of tables to dine in. They got pretty busy around lunch on a Saturday afternoon but most people ordered takeout. The service was friendly and overall the vibes were homey, reflecting the feelings of having a home-cooked dish. Parking is a bit tough (it is Wollaston) but if you look on side streets you should be able to find something. There is also the Wollaston T Station parking lot that you can park at! Overall, I would definitely recommend giving this spot a try and I'd love to try different dishes!

It was a delicious lunch, a little expensive but the service was good and it was very authentic. The designs are very Thai themed. The fried chicken was delicious but expensive The curry noodles were yummy and the crispy chicken rice was very juicy and crispy. The udon basil stir fry noodles were good but a little too sweet for my personal preference. The Thai tea was good and the Thai iced coffee was good as well. Overall, a nice lunch place, only street parking. The interior is small, only maybe 4 tables.

All our dishes very tasty and really authentic Thai food. It's a hidden gem. If you like Thai food must try. The server was friendly and helpful , The atmosphere was cozy ,but they had a few table, place kind of small but nice decorative with Thai culture. Definitely we go back again to try more dishes!

Stopped by for lunch. Quiet inside so service was great. The tom yum soup was tasty. Flavorful broth and quality chicken. I would come again.

My partner and I got the larb (chicken), khao kha moo, nuea daad deaw, Thai-ny boat noodle (beef), and sweet sticky rice w Thai custard - TASTE: 5/5 - everything was tasty! My fave was the larb w its perfect balance of red onion, cilantro, mint, chili, and lime juice. Enjoyed the comforting flavors of the pork hock stew (khao kha moo), the savory, sour broth of the boat noodle soup, and the well-seasoned, fatty beef jerky (nuea daad deaw). Perfect ending w dessert; I live for coconut sticky rice TEXTURE: 4/5 - highlights include the larb's ground chicken, the chicharrón in the boat noodle soup, the tender pork hock, and the spongy Thai custard PRICE: 4/5 - total came to $62 SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - left satisfied w our dinner SERVICE: 4/5 - walked in at 5:15pm on a Sunday and only one other table was occupied. Food started coming out 10min after ordering ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - bright space, of around 20 seats, w good Thai music and beautiful pla taphian, aka woven fish hanging mobiles PARKING: 4/5 - got a free street spot on Beale St

We had the Khao Ka Pow Jumbo and Tom Yom Prawn. I liked the Khao Ka Pow Jumbo with rice. The Tom Yom was a disappointment. The broth was both too salty and sweet at the same time. The prawns were not fresh at all! The servers were really nice! No wait on a Friday night!

Small clean local mom and pop Thai restaurant. This is an authentic Thai menu for sure! I have come here many times with friends and also have referred some and I always get good feedback. The portions are very fair with the price charged. The service here is very friendly and the food comes out pretty quick. Great place for lunch or dinner on a low key day

It's nothing special, but it's definitely a nice local Thai restaurant for a comfort meal at a reasonable price. The place is small, and we waited around 30 minutes on a Friday without reservation for 5 people. We ordered fried corn, golden bags, chicken satay, and kor moo yang for appetizers. My favorite was the fried corn and kor moo yang. Tom Yum Prawn was a bit spicy and had too much cilantro that covered the Tom Yum taste and was a little watery. Soft shell crab pad thai was considered okay, with not too much sauce, which I preferred so the rice noodles wouldn't stick together. I would order takeout from the place but not dine in since the place is small for a takeout order group.

Recently opened Larb Zaab takes over the old Pad Thai's location. Inspired by the Thai Street food scene, they bring to us authentic flavors! Larb Zaab is a cozy and inviting restaurant with cute little fish origami surrounding us. Their food is flavorful and you know it is spicy when spicy is in their name (Zaab = spicy). But we ordered little spicy and it had a minor kick to it. The drinks are super refreshing and they added drinks that you normally do not get from other Thai restaurants. We tried the Flower Tea Slushie, Thai Tea Slushie, and Longan. I LOVED the flower tea slushie because it has a pungent chrysanthemum taste. Crab Pad Thai, Khao Soi, Thai-ny (love a great pun) Boat Noodle, Fried Corn, Crispy Pork Belly Larb, just to name a few items we've shared and enjoyed.

They are the new thai restaurant replacing pad thai. Went there for lunch and the waitress was very polite and friendly. I ordered khao moo dang, with sauce on the side. The meat was delicious. Also replaced the rice with garlic rice. I can't wait to go back and try other menu. Space was only 5 tables and every one of them are taken!

I came here a few times for the same thing just to test the consistency of the chef. Well I ordered the 2in1 chicken plate with the pouched and fried chicken and today it was a little off. The chicken was a bit dry and the rice seemed hard to digest compared to other hai nan rice I had. Overall, it's still decent and service is friendly. Downside is they don't have ginger scallion sauce for the pouch chicken.

    Crispy chicken pad thai ended

Look I got the food delivered but you know if the flavor is good or bad. Food was really subpar for us. Crispy chicken pad Thai ended up being something id expect from a late night Chinese take out spot because the chicken was mostly batter and barely any meat. Ultimately doesn't taste authentic. There was something off with the curry (not pictured) and the Khao Soi just didn't hit the spot. i really wanted to like this place given that it's new but the flavors need to be improved upon.

We tried Rubato Cafe and then found ourselves at Bayao, just a stone's throw away, and WOW, what a different vibe. Walk into Bayao and you're hit with bright colors, neon signs, and a decor that feels like a love letter to Hong Kong, whether you grew up there or not. The tables even look like mahjong sets, and they've got posters from classic Hong Kong films. By the time I saw In the Mood for Love (where my fellow Wong Kar-wai fans at?) in the bathroom area, I knew these folks understood ambiance. But let's talk food. I had the chicken tomato macaroni soup, a comforting, flavorful bowl of nostalgia. The chicken was freshly fried and super tasty, exactly why Hong Kong cha chaan teng comfort food is a thing. My friend got the chicken pineapple bun, and while the bun wasn't a perfect replica of the classic (or what we'd prefer, a genuine bo lo bao), I'm now thinking maybe a sturdier bun makes sense to hold it all together. (Maybe I shouldn't have been so upset at Rubato in my last review. HMM.) It tasted good, and I appreciated the cute "Time to Bread" toothpick flag. The Ovaltine French toast was a showstopper. It looks unassuming, then you cut in and BOOM! Chocolate lava oozes out. It's sweet, but hey, dessert is dessert. Prices were reasonable, around $11 for the pineapple bun, $13 for my hearty soup. In the end, Bayao didn't just feed us; it took us on a trip. I'd happily return for both the flavors and those Hong Kong feels.

We were lucky to snag the last lobster roll--which essentially not using butter but an Asian twist with scallions and ginger oil. That was like a "why didn't I think of that" association since ginger and scallions are usually used as a wok fried combo w lobsters at a Chinese restaurant. But good thinking on the part of the chef to use the flavored oil instead. The crawfish noddles and other dishes were good. But what impressed us the most was actually the pho. The stock was spot on and makes one want to return just for the pho alone. Service was excellent. The place is smaller but they decorated it nicely and maximized space usage.

There used to be a Bank of America ATM right across the street but it seems like it is no longer there unfortunately. Their biang biang noodles are fire & you really can't go wrong with getting the dry version or with soup. Honestly, this has been my favorite spot to get noodles lately. Last week, I literally went here almosevery day for dinner (I wish I was kidding). My favorite dishes to order from here include: - Cumin Lamb Biang Biang Noodles - Cumin Lamb Biang Biang Noodle Soup - Fish Filet with Chili Pepper - Chongching Chicken with Chili Pepper Visually, the dishes don't look like generous portions but actually they're quite filling! The cumin lamb Biang Biang noodles (w/o soup) is generally my go-to because it's SO FLAVORFUL. The lamb is cooked well & doesn't taste gamey at all. It's a tad spicy but won't kill you hahaha. They do have another version of this dish that comes with soup & it's a great option if you're feeling a soup. This also has amazing flavor but of course, not as flavorful as the dry version since it comes with soup. I highly recommend getting the fish filet with chili peppers if you love a fried fish! They make it incredibly crispy without making the fish taste dry. This is perfect with a bowl of rice. Now, the chongching chicken wings have to be the spiciest dish out of my favorites. This is a great snack! I usually get this to share if I'm eating here with a group or if I'm getting takeout, I'll get this as an entree. The pieces are crispy, spicy, and juicy. What more can you ask for? SO GOOD. For dine in, it is Cash Only. If you do takeout and don't have cash/want to go grab cash, what I like to do is order through UberEats. This way, it charges credit card & you can just go in to pick it up or choose for delivery.

We walked into a simple, modest space with only a handful of tables, the kind of casual neighborhood eatery where the focus is clearly on the food rather than the surroundings. The dining room was tight and functional, with a no-frills setup that kept the attention on the noodles coming out of the kitchen. The energy was practical and unpretentious, and the steady flow of customers reflected its reputation as a destination for anyone craving authentic Chinese noodle dishes. The hand-pulled noodles are the highlight of the menu. We ordered a few different styles and found the Biang Biang noodles standing out with their wide, chewy texture that held up well to the bold sauces. The Lanzhou beef noodle soup offered a lighter broth paired with freshly stretched noodles that had a clean, satisfying bite. The spicy lamb hand-pulled noodles were another popular choice, combining tender meat with a flavorful sauce that had a satisfying amount of heat. Beyond the noodles, the cumin lamb burger, steamed dumplings, and cold skin noodles provided plenty of variety if we wanted to explore more of the menu. Each dish arrived hot and well assembled, and the portions were generous for the price. The restaurant operates with a very straightforward, self-service style. Seating is limited, and the dining room fills up quickly during busy hours, so waiting for a table is common. The service is fairly minimal, with the emphasis placed on getting the food out rather than providing a full-service dining experience. Water and utensils are self-serve, and the overall experience feels more like grabbing an authentic meal than dining somewhere with polished hospitality. It is also worth knowing that Chili Square is cash only, so planning ahead will save you from any surprises when it is time to pay. The staff moved through the room efficiently, and the noodles came out hot and freshly pulled. Overall, Chili Square is a great choice if you are looking for authentic hand-pulled noodles and bold Northwestern Chinese flavors. The small space, cash-only policy, and simple service require a little flexibility, but the freshly made noodles and generous portions make it well worth the visit if the food is your main priority.
