Considering that there wasnt much to do or eat around Leavenworth, I stumbled upon this place while walking around. Came on a Friday night around 6pm and the restaurant was already popping. Granted it is a smaller place but there seemed to be a line out the door by 6:30pm. The service was really nice. The waiter was super attentive and always rushed to fill our waters when it was empty. He also gave recommendations that I appreciated since there are quite a few pastas that were popular. Heres what I got: Brussels Sprouts (4/5): they were delicious and pairs well with the balsamic vinaigrette glaze Mushrooms (5/5): ordered without thinking that the mushrooms were going to be the exact same as the brussels sprouts but still very delicious non the less.. Linguine (4/5): I would say its a bit saltier once you start digging in, it could use a little more lemon and less butter as it tends to be pretty heavy after eating it for a while, but the scallops were cooked were nicely Pappardelle (3/5): would skip on this next time as it wasn't anything special read more

We visited Leavenworth over the weekend for my birthday, and we chose Larch as our first dinner. There were many other cool restaurants, but we went with the local's favorite so we had no expectation. Larch was located behind the main street, not so hidden. The place was small, really cozy and warm, perfect for winter. Staff was friendly and quick. He recommended us a few dishes, and we absolutely loved. We had quite a feast, but what stood out were Arancini, Octopus, and Casarecce. Arancini was crispy on the outside, oozy with cheese inside, Octopus was tender. We loved Casarecce so much we couldn't stop thinking about it. Pasta was perfectly cooked, tender brisket, and the sauce was spicy and flavorful. It was such a surprise having to taste a pasta dish with an Asian twist using gochujang. Still thinking about that pasta dish until today. One of the rarest restaurants that does really well in the small town of Leavenworth, and it was worth it. Please do keep the Casarecce pasta in the menu, forever. We started with the focaccia bread and appetizers, which were absolutely delicious--everything just melted in your mouth. Delicious pasta! I got the parpadelle with pasture raised bison, sausage, pancetta, parmesan reggiano, lemon herb ricotta. It was delicious! My friend got the lasagne with fresh pasta layered with wild boar ragu, bechamel sauce, mixed Italian cheeses. You can tell the noodles are fresh. We started with the Caesar salad and some how it had a very earth taste, the dressing was tasty though. Service was pretty quick and friendly. In this tourist dominated area it is hard to find anything other than mass market food. March represented a pleasant reminder that carefully crafted food can be found even in tourist areas Although we didn't on a weeknight during the off season we had to call for as reservation since Open Table was only offering very early or very late reservations. There were open tables enough for walk-in customers despite the lack of on line reservations. Larch is a but difficult to find as their sign is very low contrast and they share an entrance portico with a second floor restaurant on an alleyway. The staff was very friendly and we were seated promptly at a table in the bar section of the restaurant. The cocktail menu had a good selection of custom beverages made with interesting ingredients. H wife and I both enjoyed our selections: a The Dog Are My Topo and The Sportsman. We shared two appetizers and a pasta entree and had plenty of food. We had the rhubarb and strawberry salad (made with arugula and pistachios) and the arranccini. Both were tasty and attractively presented. We shared an order of Cassarecce pasta, a rich brisket and pasta dish with a spicy gojugang cream sauce that cut the richness of the dish. My husband and I were visiting from the Olympic peninsula, and he was dying for some good pasta. We decided to pop in and give them a try, and honestly I'm very glad we did. The atmosphere inside was really cozy and inviting, we went the day before valentines and it was a lovely date night experience. The staff were all amazing, and all of our food was phenomenal. I ordered the lasagna and honestly I believe it's the best lasagna I've ever had. We got the focaccia, definitely recommend that as well. We had reservations and were able to get seated in the adult only room with the bar, which was nice and quiet compared to the family side. Our server was friendly and helpful navigating the unlabeled menu for allergins. Unfortunately, they didn't have gluten-free pasta or many other gf dishes that night, but our server spoke to the kitchen, and they were able to modify one of the dishes for me. The crabcakes were surprisingly gluten-free and were ok but not my favorite. The steak and polenta was really delicious though, and the husband of mine enjoyed his pasta. All were cooked to perfection with generous portions. Just wish they offered a complimentary type of bread service, so we settled with sharing the focaccia bread for $9.00, a little steep in my opinion, but the portion size was fairly big, and we didn't end up finishing. Probably better for sharing with 4 people if you're trying to save your appetite for dinner. Also wished they served the bread with an olive oil selection, rather than the marinara like sauce it was served with. My husband and I went to Larch to celebrate my birthday, as we often go there for special celebrations. Unfortunately this time was an unpleasant experience due to the ambiance/environment of the restaurant. We were seated at a table and the table next to us had two young kids that clearly didn't want to be there and were very disruptive. I have 3 kids and get that dining out with kids can be challenging but this does not feel like the most appropriate place to take little kids. One of the kids ended up crying so hard that he vomited on a plate on the table. On the other side of the restaurant there was a kid on a phone that had the volume up extremely high. The sound of the game she was playing and then show that she was watching was louder than the restaurant music. It was extremely annoying. We ended up say something to an employee who acknowledged the "annoying" sound and said she would say something to their server. Even after saying something, the noise continued for another 10-15 minutes. Finally our server, Dan, addressed the noise with that patron and it finally got better. read more

Location was in a bit of an unusual spot with it being somewhat off an ally, we made reservations as was recommended for 6pm and were seated immediately. Our spot was in the bar area which we rather enjoyed as it was quieter and less crowded. The lovely bartender was also our waitress and recommended the best gin drink ! We weren't as hungry as we thought we would be, so we decided to share the entree. We started off with the generous serving of Caesar salad which was delicious, we especially liked the 2 anchovy that it was topped with. Nice chilled, fresh & crisp romaine. I'm conflicted, food was good, but it was weirdly rushed, for this price point and reviews I expected a longer more relaxing meal, the drinks were rushed out, the food even faster, the service wasn't on par with the prices at all, it was not bad service by any stretch but it wasn't enjoyable, it wasn't interested or excited and as a former server in fine dining it was seriously lacking and made the amazing food not as fun or memorable. All being first timers we got some recommendations from our server which was super helpful are all tasty choices. We started/shared the mushrooms, cab/shrimp cakes and the ARANCINI risotto croquettes-- It was also recommended to get the focaccia bread as there were going to be some soakable sauces with our starter choices (good call). Listen.. I'm a foodie and I'm big on excellent experiences. When I tell you that this place knocks it out of the park- they knock it clear out! Our waitress was lovely with the perfect amount of attentiveness. The ambiance (we sat on the patio) was divine, the NA drink menu was super creative and the food was to die for.
