The menu has so many great options, it was very difficult to narrow down to only one option! My bride ordered Kiwanda Rice Bowl and added the salmon and absolutely loved it. Sitting on the patio looking over the creek w the mountains in the backdrop is the most incredible venue for a delicious bowl of soup. Came here early on a Friday and got seated right away. I got the hang ten bone broth soup and a side of their special halibut collar. The bowl is filling enough for one person and the broth is so creamy I definitely recommend. We had good food, and since we spent 4 days in Leavenworth we're relieved to find a restaurant our dog could come to that didn't involve more bratwurst. The waiter was friendly and attentive. The food was good. I will note that several of the restaurant coworkers came in with their children and they just ran around and were very loud. My friend and I ate at this restaurant because my nursing preceptor recommended it, and the food was actually really good. The fish was very fresh, and I did not experience any food-related illness, which I am always cautious about when eating seafood, especially after hearing some bad stories from friends during their travels. The bratwurst that my friend ordered was also good -- nothing particularly standout, but well-prepared as expected. I will say, though, that the little baby salad on top of my fish dish was a bit underwhelming...There was not much of the vinaigrette sauce, so it felt more like decoration than flavor. I understand I could have asked for more, but it seemed like it was mainly for presentation. The drink that you see pictured below was my friend's order, but I got a taste of it. It was very tart and sour -- definitely eye-opening. That is not my preferred flavor, but if you like tart drinks, you might enjoy it. One thing I appreciated was that the directions to the restaurant in Leavenworth were clear! Just read the signs and look up from your navigation! The location is downstairs, which maps donot always specify, but the signage made it easy to find. Onto the food review... 1) Yodelin--This was like eating ramen/udon with with a rich sour coconut-milk broth and tons of vegetables like kale, radish, mushrooms, red bell peppers, and cilantro. The broth and radish were my favorite parts of the Yodelin as the broth had a unique bone broths flavor and the radish gave a nice crisp to the soup. 10 out of 10z 2) Garlic Sourdough Bread--Came in three slices and was smeared with a thick layer of garlic butter. The bread was soooo good; toasted crust and soft buttery inside. I just wish it came as an appetizer so we could have started eating it as an appetizer before our meals. 4.5 out of 5. 3) Bahn Mi Sandwich---If you want to eat a healthy meal full of vegetables, this is it! My friends and I were visiting Leavenworth as a belated birthday celebration for me. It was also their first time in Leavenworth though. They let me decide what we should eat for dinner, as they were paying for my portion. We did not have a reservation, but luckily the hostess was able to squeeze us in between reservations! We were seated at a booth. It is dimly lit inside. It is quite cozy and casual. After asking for recommendations on what to order from our waitress, we all choose different items she recommended. We got the Classic Garlic Bread to share. Then, I ordered The Cheeseburger, which is served with Tim's Potato Chips, pickles, and Yodelin's cabbage slaw. One of my friends ordered the Yodelin Broth Bowl, which is a coconut yellow curry with wild halibut bone broth with udon noodles. Another friend ordered the Fish On! burger, which is a garlic butter broiled wild PNW cod with house-made tartar sauce and Tillamook cheddar on a bosket sesame bun. Each of the entrees were $18 and the bread was $7. The food turned out to be a bit lackluster in the end for us. We came across Yodelin on Reddit. They're marketed as a Seafood place on Yelp, but I would say they've got a bit of Asian fusion in their menu. We came around 5PM or so on a Friday after hiking outside of Leavenworth. We opted for outdoor seating because the view is amazing from the outside patio area. Our server, Lizzy, was very friendly and came to get us started quickly. I ordered a Ginger Soda while my partner got a Root Beer. We also ordered Chicken Satay (they don't normally have these on Fridays, but they happened to have them today - lucky!), Roasted Broccoli, and Classic Garlic Bread. My partner also got the Rooster Comb with the Roasted Mad Hatcher Chicken as protein, and I opted for the Moonlight with 5oz Wild Sockeye Salmon added. I think after the long hike, warm broth just sounded amazing to the two of us, but in hindsight, we probably could have just ordered one to share because these bowls were big. Roasted broccoli was delicious. We were definitely looking forward to some hearty veggies. The broccoli was roasted perfectly - not too burnt, and had a slight, toasty, crunch to it. Flavored with some ginger, garlic, and sesame seeds. Simple, but delicious. The Chicken Satay was unexpectedly really good. We originally asked if the Wingies were available, and it wasn't, which was why we opted for the Chicken Satay which happened to be available. The chicken fingers could be a little juicer, but the house made peanut sauce was delicious, which made up for the dryness. The noodle-like radish and cilantro added a nice, refreshing touch to the dish. As for the garlic bread? Can't go wrong with that. And on sourdough pieces? Even better. It was comforting. Finally, our broth bowls. I think because the meal started off really strongly, I was expecting the broth to be really good too, but I didn't find it particularly special. I can definitely see the appeal to it when Leavenworth is known for pretzels and Bavarian sausages and you want to stand out as something different, but I've had more udon bowls and miso soup than I can remember, so it was just okay. The salmon was a tad more cooked than I wanted it to be too. I think the most disappointing part was that the udon was not chewy at all so it's missing that satisfying bouncy bite to it. On the other hand, I think my partner's bowl of Rooster Comb was much more hearty and what I would look for after a hike. It was a bowl of comfort, though I probably wouldn't add additional protein to the bowl if that was my order. All in all, we enjoyed our time here! Most of the food was great, view was amazing, service was amazing. If you're looking to eat in Leavenworth, but something on the healthier and heartier side, Yodelin is your place. We had this nice table that only had one other table so we were able to talk and have a nice relaxing dinner. I ordered the Yodelin bone broth bowl with roasted chicken. It was SO good! The broth was both creamy and rich and I loved the udon noodles. It came with a generous portion and I ended up having to take half back to the hotel room. It made a great lunch the next day. My husband ordered the salmon grain bowl that came with a Thai peanut sauce. He said it was okay but thought the salmon overpowered the sauce and it didn't work well together. We also ordered garlic toast which just ended up being three actual slices of toast with garlic. I guess I was expecting a little more for $6.99. Next time we would pass on that. After a flight into Seattle and long drive through the snow into Leavenworth earlier this year, I wanted some simple takeout to enjoy at our room with those village lights at the Bavarian Lodge since Yodelin doesn't have a view being downstairs. Yodelin was walking distance so we ordered and picked up after checking in. We got the Yodelin and added a 5 oz cod for an additional $10. I was more of a fan of the noodles and broth than the cod so opted to just get it as is, without add ons a few days later. The PNW Salmon rice bowl seemed more of a salad than a rice bowl as there was way more cucumbers and greens than there was rice, so be aware it is on the lighter side. First time in Leavenworth and not a fan of Brats, wasn't going to drink beer, didn't want to have burgers or soft pretzels. After looking at reviews here on Yelp I chose Yodelin but what I did not notice or read in those reviews was that this restaurant specializes in homemade bone broth soups! I love the concept and I wish I had one of these near me that serves udon noodle soup in a variety of different bone broth. They also have other things on the menu but I was fixated on the broth. You can add different proteins to the soup if you like for an extra cost and I chose to add clams. Look for the picture below on how many clams they put in here! I lost count. I would say there was at least maybe three dozen clams, maybe more? Only a few of them were sandy which is not unusual for clams. I got the Yodeling which is their Curry fish bone broth and it was phenomenal! It was just the right amount of spice but not spicy and it served with kale, roasted red Peppers and Shitake mushrooms in the biggest bowl I think I've ever been served. What a happy surprise to find in brat heaven of Leavenworth Wa. I went on recommendation of my son who had gone during a climbing trip in the Cascades. Yodelin is at one end of the pedestrian street in town. You'll go down a set of stairs to the front door and beautiful patio overlooking the river. Patio is dog friendly!! Food is truly unique in my usual world. Their logo is something about "using the whole fish", and that's an accurate assessment. They are famous for their fish broths and bowls using rice, veggies, noodles, broth and you guessed it ... fish fillets, simply baked to allow the flavors in the broths to shine through. Lots of vegan dishes here. If you are so inclined, you can order pints of their broths shipped anywhere in the lower 48. I started my meal with 8 oz of the halibut sipping broth as recommended by my server. She also recommended my main course, a Thai peanut bowl with salmon. They also had a nice Sauvignon Blanc wine that was great with my whole meal. Service is what you'd hope for at a place like this ... attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and contributing to one's overall experience. I got all three, including a wonderful recommendation at the end to try a Mexican Chocolate vegan ice cream from Whistlepunk Ice Cream, a local company. Delicious.
