Tasty for my Asian taste buds. I had the Hama Hama clams with the Yodelin soup base, and my partner had the Hollywood. I enjoyed the clams and finished the whole bowl. The soup was on the lighter and more watery side compared to the regular curry you'd get from other traditional Thai restaurants, yet it was still flavorful, and the lime really brought up my appetite. The garlic bread was really nice. They were definitely garlicky and the crunchiness was perfectly balanced, it gave you the satisfying crunchy texture without making you feel like you were chewing on a really dry bread. My partner said the portion of his plate was nice, and the soup was on the slightly more sour side. The ginger beer was truly gingery as it said. Oh my....what a great experience! Came on a Mon night around 7PM and they had available tables on the patio. Great setting and view. The menu has so many great options, it was very difficult to narrow down to only one option! My bride ordered Kiwanda Rice Bowl and added the salmon and absolutely loved it. We had good food, and since we spent 4 days in Leavenworth we're relieved to find a restaurant our dog could come to that didn't involve more bratwurst. The waiter was friendly and attentive. The food was good. I will note that several of the restaurant coworkers came in with their children and they just ran around and were very loud. It went from a great vibe to kind of obnoxious because of parents who were barely supervising their children. We left soon after that started. My friend and I ate at this restaurant because my nursing preceptor recommended it, and the food was actually really good. The fish was very fresh, and I did not experience any food-related illness, which I am always cautious about when eating seafood, especially after hearing some bad stories from friends during their travels. I will say, though, that the little baby salad on top of my fish dish was a bit underwhelming...There was not much of the vinaigrette sauce, so it felt more like decoration than flavor. I understand I could have asked for more, but it seemed like it was mainly for presentation. The drink that you see pictured below was my friend's order, but I got a taste of it. It was very tart and sour -- definitely eye-opening. That is not my preferred flavor, but if you like tart drinks, you might enjoy it. One thing I appreciated was that the directions to the restaurant in Leavenworth were clear! Just read the signs and look up from your navigation! The location is downstairs, which maps donot always specify, but the signage made it easy to find. When we entered, the atmosphere felt a little off, like people were looking at us -- perhaps because I am not white? lol idk...It may also have just been me feeling shy in a new space. The staff was okay -- nothing particularly stood out. They were not especially attentive to refilling water, so you need to ask for it yourself. At least the food arrived quickly, likely because the kitchen is efficient. The kitchen is really the standout here. One thing I found a bit unusual was the layout. Some tables are divided by large columns that support the roof, which can make it difficult to see or talk to others at your table if you are in a larger group -- maybe eight people or so. Tried the Gardner and I think frozen dream cocktails. Both were nice, full of fresh basil or mint, I preferred the frozen dream but if you're looking for a G+T, the gardener was great. Had a yodelin sipper and wild salmon bowl for dinner and I was so full! It's nice to feel so satiated by a healthy meal on vacation, I think that's largely why Yodelin is so popular. The salmon in my bowl was excellent but what is exciting about Yodelin is that the protein is not the star of the show. The staff took them away without mentioning that I would still be charged. It wasn't until the check arrived that I was informed the drinks would remain on my bill. When I asked to have the charges removed, the waitress sent someone else to tell me the manager had decided to keep the charges. The manager never came to speak with me personally, which made the experience even more frustrating. I used to eat here regularly, but after this experience I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this restaurant to others. Visited Leavenworth and this was our first meal (lunchtime). We arrived before it opened on a Saturday and were promptly seated (you have the option sit indoors or outdoors). Onto the food review... 1) Yodelin--This was like eating ramen/udon with with a rich sour coconut-milk broth and tons of vegetables like kale, radish, mushrooms, red bell peppers, and cilantro. The broth and radish were my favorite parts of the Yodelin as the broth had a unique bone broths flavor and the radish gave a nice crisp to the soup. 10 out of 10z 2) Garlic Sourdough Bread--Came in three slices and was smeared with a thick layer of garlic butter. The bread was soooo good; toasted crust and soft buttery inside. I just wish it came as an appetizer so we could have started eating it as an appetizer before our meals. 4.5 out of 5. 3) Bahn Mi Sandwich---If you want to eat a healthy meal full of vegetables, this is it! They generously packed the sandwich with fresh crispy veggies. The side salad was amazing as they really loaded on the radish. Came here on a Saturday evening and we were able to be seated immediately. We found a paid parking lot about a 10-15 minute walk away. The inside is pretty big and they have some outside seating as well. We wanted something fresh after our hike and Yodelin really accomplished that!! My friends and I were visiting Leavenworth as a belated birthday celebration for me. It was also their first time in Leavenworth though. They let me decide what we should eat for dinner, as they were paying for my portion. I decided on Yodelin since the rating was fairly good and their menu was a bit more unique compared to the other restaurants in the area. We did not have a reservation, but luckily the hostess was able to squeeze us in between reservations! We were seated at a booth. It is dimly lit inside. It is quite cozy and casual. After asking for recommendations on what to order from our waitress, we all choose different items she recommended. We got the Classic Garlic Bread to share. Then, I ordered The Cheeseburger, which is served with Tim's Potato Chips, pickles, and Yodelin's cabbage slaw. One of my friends ordered the Yodelin Broth Bowl, which is a coconut yellow curry with wild halibut bone broth with udon noodles. Another friend ordered the Fish On! burger, which is a garlic butter broiled wild PNW cod with house-made tartar sauce and Tillamook cheddar on a bosket sesame bun. Each of the entrees were $18 and the bread was $7. The food turned out to be a bit lackluster in the end for us. We didn't expect the Garlic Bread to be actual slices of bread, but it was well seasoned. The broth bowl was interesting, but kind of small for the price. We came for lunch yesterday! Service was excellent, food overall I would give an 8/10. It's a little pricier than I expected, but it seems like the quality makes up for it. They have an environmental impact statement on the menu, which was lovely to know our dollar was supporting. My husband had the cheeseburger with small potatoes, the ranch that they have is zesty and WONDERFUL. I recommend. I had the Yodelin' soup with bay shrimp. The shrimp are extremely small, but they seem to give a healthy portion of them! My husband had two stouts that he really enjoyed and I had the house crafted lemon/lime-ade, which was SO good. I would come to this spot, but don't come expecting the traditional German fare that's present at most Leavenworth spots! If you want something a little different in Leavenworth and very PNW authentic, this is maybe your spot. We came across Yodelin on Reddit. They're marketed as a Seafood place on Yelp, but I would say they've got a bit of Asian fusion in their menu. We came around 5PM or so on a Friday after hiking outside of Leavenworth. We opted for outdoor seating because the view is amazing from the outside patio area. Our server, Lizzy, was very friendly and came to get us started quickly. I ordered a Ginger Soda while my partner got a Root Beer. We also ordered Chicken Satay (they don't normally have these on Fridays, but they happened to have them today - lucky!), Roasted Broccoli, and Classic Garlic Bread. My partner also got the Rooster Comb with the Roasted Mad Hatcher Chicken as protein, and I opted for the Moonlight with 5oz Wild Sockeye Salmon added. I think after the long hike, warm broth just sounded amazing to the two of us, but in hindsight, we probably could have just ordered one to share because these bowls were big. Roasted broccoli was delicious. We were definitely looking forward to some hearty veggies. The broccoli was roasted perfectly - not too burnt, and had a slight, toasty, crunch to it. Flavored with some ginger, garlic, and sesame seeds. Simple, but delicious. The Chicken Satay was unexpectedly really good. We originally asked if the Wingies were available, and it wasn't, which was why we opted for the Chicken Satay which happened to be available. The chicken fingers could be a little juicer, but the house made peanut sauce was delicious, which made up for the dryness. The noodle-like radish and cilantro added a nice, refreshing touch to the dish. As for the garlic bread? Can't go wrong with that. And on sourdough pieces? Even better. It was comforting. Finally, our broth bowls. I think because the meal started off really strongly, I was expecting the broth to be really good too, but I didn't find it particularly special. I can definitely see the appeal to it when Leavenworth is known for pretzels and Bavarian sausages and you want to stand out as something different, but I've had more udon bowls and miso soup than I can remember, so it was just okay. The salmon was a tad more cooked than I wanted it to be too. I think the most disappointing part was that the udon was not chewy at all so it's missing that satisfying bouncy bite to it. On the other hand, I think my partner's bowl of Rooster Comb was much more hearty and what I would look for after a hike. It was a bowl of comfort, though I probably wouldn't add additional protein to the bowl if that was my order. All in all, we enjoyed our time here! Most of the food was great, view was amazing, service was amazing. If you're looking to eat in Leavenworth, but something on the healthier and heartier side, Yodelin is your place. The broth was both creamy and rich and I loved the udon noodles. It came with a generous portion and I ended up having to take half back to the hotel room. It made a great lunch the next day. My husband ordered the salmon grain bowl that came with a Thai peanut sauce. He said it was okay but thought the salmon overpowered the sauce and it didn't work well together. After a flight into Seattle and long drive through the snow into Leavenworth earlier this year, I wanted some simple takeout to enjoy at our room with those village lights at the Bavarian Lodge since Yodelin doesn't have a view being downstairs. Yodelin was walking distance so we ordered and picked up after checking in. We got the Yodelin and added a 5 oz cod for an additional $10. I was more of a fan of the noodles and broth than the cod so opted to just get it as is, without add ons a few days later. The PNW Salmon rice bowl seemed more of a salad than a rice bowl as there was way more cucumbers and greens than there was rice, so be aware it is on the lighter side.
