I like opportunities because opportunity always presents itself. I've known about Larchmont Vision for over 24 years from being in the area. I never had a reason to stop in but today, opportunity did present itself. Walking in, the gentleman was very kind and greeted me as soon as he finished with the previous customer I came in because I made a call to see if they had what I needed, the lady said yes so I drove over. I needed the strap for glasses. The gentleman helped me pick out a suitable pair and he offered to attach them to my shades. I was more than appreciative. The rep was very engaging and willing. They have lots of name brand frames for your liking. Even though there are 3 vision dealers almost next door to each other, this one did the job for me, no hassle. Unprofessional and Poor Customer Service I went to pick up my eyeglasses and requested to have them tested by Dr. Gina Rosselli. Dr. Rosselli and her team said okay since the test would only take a few minutes. I waited for over half an hour with a family member to be told by Dr. Rosselli in a harsh voice to make an appointment because she had other customers with appointments to tend to. I was her customer too. I am elderly so asking me to come back for a test that takes a few minutes after waiting for over half an hour is unprofessional, disrespectful of my time, and poor customer service. It appears after I paid I was no longer important. I will never go back or recommend her services to anyone. read more

Our whole family has been going to LVC since we moved to Larchmont many many years ago. We have always found the staff to be friendly and responsive. I regrettably overlooked many negative reviews due to the close proximity of this location to my home and the fact they are an approved provider through my vision insurance. What a big mistake! The Optometrist was professional and nice , and I believe got my prescription correct, however I would NOT recommend getting lenses or frames done here. They destroyed a $400 brand new pair of Tom Ford Sunglasses. I paid $160 to have prescription lenses put in. They cracked the frame, they lost one of the manufacturers screws and replaced it with an aftermarket screw that doesn't match and left several imperfections (clouds) on my brand new frame. They pretended like everything was fine when I picked them up and when I called out the tech he looked at me like I was in the wrong and only replaced the missing screw after I pointed it out. Horrible service. No accountability and terrible craftsmanship. Made zero attempt to right their wrong.Stay away!! Far away!! read more

Stay away from that place. I went there for a simple eye test and while the doctor was fine, the staff was unfriendly. On the test day, they made it (very) clear that i was annoying them because i wanted to walk out with a paper copy of the eye test (instead of waiting for an email soft copy). A month later i am still waiting for the soft copy. I just called and got another staff member on the phone. When i mentioned that i had been waiting for a month for my eye test results, he just told me that he was doing me a favor to pick up the call as he had people waiting in the room. No apology nor any interest in my simple case. I ended up shopping for glasses next door where the owner is clearly a lot more friendly. read more

I honestly can not believe this place has such bad reviews! I had an eye glasses exam . I was seen almost right away. The optometrist was a very kind and knowledgeable woman. She answered any and all questions I had and even helped me take out my contacts because I had trouble getting them out of my eyes myself. After my exam a very friendly man helped me pick out glasses (I'm usually very picky) but he found exactly the kind of frame I have been wanting! Not to mention my glasses were ready the NEXT day!!!! Update: My wife has been 100% cleared of having glaucoma by another doctor we went to for a 2nd opinion. The 2nd opinion doctor we went to was so shocked by the irresponsible diagnosis he attempted to look up Dr. Gina Rossillo. He could not find her accreditation or licensing in the area. The doctor even called Larchmont vision care and they refused to put him in touch with "Dr" Gina Rossillo. I am going to try to follow this up. This has become very dubious. read more

THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!! I bought sunglasses here in November 2013 - they've broken 3 times since then. The lenses keep falling out. The last time was about a week ago - first I called to ask them if they would replace the glasses since this continues to happen (not to mention the inconvenience of having to keep going back to have them fixed). The person on the phone had a nasty attitude and told me I needed to speak with Tony, then they left me on hold for about 5 minutes. I hung up and called back and was then told that Tony was "finishing up with a customer". They said he would call me back. I waited 3 hours and no phone call from Tony, so of course I had to call back again. Got an attitude from Tony too, who told me he had to look at the glasses (for the THIRD time). They certainly don't seem interested in making their customers happy. When I went back to have them fixed AGAIN, Tony told me it was MY fault for keeping the glasses in a different case than the one that came with them. Uh, no I'm sorry, I've kept different glasses in that case for many years and this has never happened before. He was rude and sarcastic and did nothing to try and make things right. Had a terrible and painful experience here. Had an eye exam to get fitted for contact lenses. Dr. Gina Rossillo was rough and abrasive. She pulled on my eye lid without warning or explaining what she was going to do and swiped a q-tip under my eye lid. I began to cry, I was in pain and shocked by her doing this. I was in a lot of pain. When I explained this to her, she adamantly told me to stop tensing my eyes, telling me it was my fault. I had a headache for the rest of the day. Went in over the weekend to get my 8 year old glasses (the other places in town were closed) and have been regretting it ever since. Except for one person (who was chewing on a lollipop), everyone in there was grumpy to the point of almost mean. I am new to using a Vision insurance - it was an annoying process. The Optical took my information, checked it against the insurance to make sure of my benefits. In doing that, the Insurance system took that as my benefit for the year was used! Turns out it was a system glitch - ok. I get to choosing my frames - of course I get shown the more pricey frames, but that's ok - I liked them. I was shown the best customer service EV-ER! The second I put my credit card down - I'm chum. I do not get smiles when I walk in nor do I get a greeting. The doctor did not take my concern about the prescription seriously, she said my vision changed (From Jan to Mar) and she would put me into bi-focals. {NO WAY!} So, I got computer glasses made - paying for lenses only, which they did at a "special" pricing. I have had to go back 6 times since Jan 2014 for my regular glasses. Adjustments, redoing a lens when they scratched it doing an adjustment, redoing the lenses again because the replacement lens turned darker/faster than the other one, took the glasses back again because replaced lens didn't fit flush against the frame (they said they had to get a brand new frame for me as the other one was "defective", and the final straw - I picked up the said new glasses and the lens is still off alignment after adjustments. For an outfit to poo-poo Costco, they should check their track record first! I'm going back to Costco. They take all my concerns seriously. read more

2 stars: The doctor is good. The not brand name section sucks... But that's Larchmont. I waited at the front desk for a few minutes. No one there to greet customers. Also must be a larchmont thing... Walked out of a few places in larchmont due to an overall lack of basic customer service. There's nowhere to sit if you have to wait. It's a very forgettable experience... I wouldn't go back. I've never been to an eye doctor before, but this place makes me never want to go back again. The lady at the front desk was kind, but i had a problem with the optometrist herself. I had explained that this was my first time getting examined, but she would get annoyed with me if i couldn't get something on the first try. She would keep telling me to focus and look at the wall, while she shined this bright light in my eye. If i blinked, you could hear how annoyed she was. It made me feel like i was wasting her time. I know someone who has had a similar experience here, and they went years ago. It was weird because when i came in, she was helping these people pick out glasses and she seemed kind. I come here for my annual eye exam. The optometrist and her staff are very nice and always have been in my opinion . They tell you about any charges and fees up front, get your glasses to you rather quickly and the establishment is clean. I hope Larchmont Vision remains here forever. read more

I only came in here once for my sunglasses. I did not buy them at Larchmont Vision care but I accidentally stepped on them and went to the store to see if they could fix the glasses. Not only did they fix the sunglasses in under 10 min, but the guy told me it was free of charge! Great service without being a customer. I'm going to go back and buy my next pair there! read more

This place is the reason that one star reviews exist as an option. We've lived in Larchmont for 10 years and have endured this place for many of those. During these years they have canceled appointments, ruined glasses, kept me on hold and generally failed in any effort at customer service. I should've listened to Yelp. I made an appointment to see the doctor in October...it is now January. The day before my appointment I received a voicemail that the doctor was sick but they have a substitute doctor doing the eye exams. This was my first time coming to Larchmont Vision Care so it didn't make difference to me. I come in today for my appointment, the receptionist said the sub didn't come in. She asked if I got the second voicemail...there was no second voicemail!...She said the sub didn't feel like driving in for one appointment. All understandable...but no one called me. I was told that they would check out my insurance to see if I was covered even though they were listed as a participant on my plan, only to call a few days later needing my social security number. This was Friday when my appointment was the following Monday. I had scheduled time for this appointment only to be told that I would have to pay in full for my visit. NEVER GO HERE! (Sorry Larchmont Vision care...you did this to yourself.) I have no idea what keeps this place in business. Honestly I read the reviews before hand so I am partly to blame for choosing to come here. I know enough about customer service having many years experience. Anyone who runs a successful business knows that the best time to show customer service is when there is an issue. I went for an exam last Oct, got my prescription in the same day...despite there being a shortage on selection of glasses I did choose the frames I liked best and I picked them up same day. Fast forward to July, after leaving my glasses on a Russian Airline flight I called them midweek to see if I could re order the same pair. The gentleman place the order over the phone and seemed eager to do so. He told me to stop by on Monday of the following week. I stopped by on my lunch hour on Monday as directed. The lady at the desk fumbled around looking for my order. Made several trips up and down the stairs while the gentleman (who placed the order) sat behind the computer. This back and forth went on for about 15 minutes. Finally I asked the gentleman if the order was even ready to which he quickly said "no" as if he had known this the entire time. He explained that they had been on back order. I was a little frustrated that I had just wasted that time standing there. Of course he suggested that I choose a different frame and even tried to act as if he would give me a "deal" on one that was costed a little more...while pointing out which ones would cost more. He was so eager to take my money. I decided to wait until the frames I originally ordered came in. Today I went to pick them up. I asked him could get at least give me a discount for all the trouble. He just laughed. I mentioned that they had terrible reviews online and this would be an opportunity for me to say something nice about them. Nope. He said, if I bought a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses he would give me a deal. WHAT? I persisted. Then he said, I already gave you a discount, last time you paid $130 this time you pay $116. WHAT A FOOL. My insurance had changed since the last time, it was my new insurance that covered more then the last time. HE wanted to take credit for that! I quickly pointed out. Then he gave me the option to pay cash which I didn't have at the moment. This guy took my debit card in a flash and couldn't wait to get that money! Clearly they are very money hungry! I've been here 3 times. I wanted to give it a fair shot because it's walking distance from me but each time I went, I left feeling bitter. Overall they have no idea how to run a business. Poor choice of product: Their frame selection was underwhelming and need to update the frames that are currently in style. Poor presentation and interior: it feels shabby and dingy and everything is disorganized. Not inviting at all. Horrible service: Nobody asked me if I needed help. I had to go up to the front desk to ask to see frames. The receptionists need to smile and show more interest in helping customers. Also they don't know anything about glasses and had to ask the manager literally every question I had. My appt: Never happened because the optometrist decided not to come in that Saturday. The receptionist said she called me many times yet I got no calls. I asked what number and she had a wrong number. She did not apologize for the mishap and after I said that's not my number, she continued to tell me she called me twice a day for 4 days before my appointment. It doesn't matter how many times you called because you were calling the wrong number hello!!! I was furious by her incompetence and sighed. I told her that was really inconvenient. She finally apologized but in a monotone insincere tone and did not look at me. I am never going back there again. Larchmont Vision Care is lacking both "vision" and "care" so unless they improve every aspect of this shop, they won't be around for long. read more

I have been going to this practice location for many years. I have never had a bad experience. I have had eyeglasses, contacts and recently prescription eyeglasses done. I have never had a problem with any of these products. In fact, my original lens are over 10 years old and I have had the lens changed twice ( due to a change in prescription). I have alot of issues with allergies and the Dr was able to find the correct contacts for my conditon. She is very knowledgable and and excellent physician. read more

The worst customer experience I've ever had. Period. Do not go here. Not only is the staff unfriendly, they are more interested in their iPhones than paying attention to customers. As a new customer, you would think that they would try to develop a relationship with me in order to....sell more glasses? No. There wasn't any effort to be polite or get to know me at all. Not one of the three ladies who worked there asked: Is this your first time here? Are you new in town? Did you move here with your family? Hint: finding out if I recently moved to Larchmont (answer: yes) and have a family (answer: yes) could translate into buying lots of pairs of glasses over many years as well as a significant amount of annual exams) You know: BASIC SALESMANSHIP. Then, they got my prescription wrong TWICE on ONE pair of glasses. As a result, I had to wait a month for something that should have taken a few days. With growing online competition for glasses, you would think that brick and mortar stores like these would try to compete for customers by providing the one thing that online vendors can't: personal, caring, and considerate service. It also helps to avoid screwing up the actual prescription. However, with some manners, even that can be understood. With zero effort to be kind and courteous to customers, followed by poor product output, this place seems to be trying to lose customers. read more

I have been coming to Larchmont Vision Care for years because it's close to my job and takes my insurance. I should have known after I read the reviews. They 'lost' my Gucci frames when they were supposed to put in new lenses. No one ever called me to tell me they were ready. This year, I picked out sunglasses (prescription) and I was told that I would be given a 'deal' on sunglasses since I was getting regular lenses as well. While waiting for the guy to put my lenses in I asked the girl at the front desk how much an eye exam cost, she told me $75. I asked her how much lenses cost and she gave the price. So when I asked how much my insurance covered I was told it covered eye exam, frames, lenses and contacts and she gave me the breakdown of each... so when I did the math I told her I was over charged for out of pocket expenses. So I showed her an algorithm of the numbers she quoted me before. She told me that the exam cost $85, I said but you just told me $75. She said, that's only if you're paying out of pocket. We charge insurance $85!! That makes absolutely no sense. When I went over the 'new math' they were obviously using, they agreed that they overcharged me $100 and after arguing for 20 minutes I got my money back. The optometrist is very good and nice but she stays in the back and not sure she realize all the dysfunction going on up front. My lenses are chipped on the side and I was told 'that's how they are' when I picked them up. Will never go back there! read more

A visit to Larchmont Vision Care can promise you discourteous, lazy, disgruntled, and unhelpful sales clerks. If they actually get up from their chairs and stop complaining about how "the opticians aren't in" so "no one is in" and "they can't do anything" three times in a mere two minutes with their irritating, whiny voices, then you may experience a moment of hope. Don't fret, this glimpse will soon be overshadowed by their sluggish demeanor and attempt to upsell every unpriced pair of glasses in the store, which is every pair of glasses in the store. They show no effort of wanting to be helpful. They talk to you like you're an idiot. By the time you leave Larchmont Vision Care, it's a toss up whether you want to leave more than they want you to leave. Maybe if you're lucky, they'll leave first and you can purchase a pair of glasses. read more

I would definitely avoid this place. The staff is unprofessional, not helpful and down-right argumentative. The optometrist seems OK, but is not sufficiently involved with the front end of the store to resolve the customer service negatives. In addition, the lens quality and installation is extremely variable; in some cases the lens installed seems to be generic and not the name-brand one thought was purchased.
