    Dry aged meatballs
    Bryan S.

Walked in for lunch without a reservation where I enjoyed the butter service and the dry aged meatballs. Both of those were a surprise. There was so much flavor in the meatballs from both the dry aging and sauce. The order comes with 4 of them, but I ate 1 before realizing I didn't take a photo. It's definitely a must order if you enjoy meat or steak in general. The truffle butter was a delicious add on with a decent amount of truffle flavor, but not absolutely necessary for the experience. The bone in ribeye was a good cut and had very little tendons to trim off, fairly small at about 14oz of meat excluding the bone. But the meat wasn't as tender as I was expecting and it was not as great as I was hoping considering the amount of steakhouses in nyc. I'd go back to try a few other things potentially, but mostly for the meatballs and to try their burger.

I told myself I was going to start bringing lunch to work. You know--be healthy, save money... maybe a nice yogurt. Right on cue, my coworker texts: "Where are we eating?" Well. That plan died instantly. We had just gone to Rocco's Steakhouse yesterday for steak... so naturally, we decided to go out for steak again. Because balance. Four of us rolled out like we had a reservation with destiny. We started strong: Grilled bacon with peanut butter and jalapeño. My coworkers loved it. I personally don't believe peanuts belong anywhere near my bacon, but I respected the chaos. Massive cocktail shrimp with three sauces--we split those like civilized people. Cobb salad, for health. Obviously. Then came: Dry-aged porterhouse meatballs with gorgonzola crema and black garlic. Good--but in my world, meatballs belong in a proper red sauce. I'm traditional like that. Main event: Bone-in dry-aged prime sirloin. Delicious. Tuscan-style, not drowning in butter. Ordered medium rare... received "this cow has a LinkedIn profile." Sides absolutely stole the show: The Quality Potato (elite) Gnocchi & cheese (life-changing) Brussels sprouts (so we can keep pretending we're making good choices) Dessert:Carrot cake ice cream slice + espresso. Because at this point, why stop? Service was amazing--our waitress and busboy were so engaging they even brought us extra cookies. I felt seen. The place itself is cozy, warm, a little industrial, and tucked below ground--like a delicious steak bunker. Anyway... I'll bring that yogurt tomorrow.Probably.

If you're in nyc looking to celebrate something and want a steak this is the place to go. Everyone in my party thought this was the best or atleast one of the best steaks they had ever had. The porterhouse was similar to Peter Lugers. Great char but still red. Perfect amount of salt. The thick cut bacon was also comparable to Peter Lugers. The corn crème bur le was something I've never seen before and I imagine re creating it would be extremely difficult. Highly recommend trying it. Brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes absolutely hit the mark. All of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful in making choices on the menu.

Fiiiinally made it over to Quality Meats when my friends from Jersey decided to surprise me for a 40th bday dinner. We were a party of 4 and were promptly seated upon arrival. The place/ambiance is pretty swanky, definitely 'milestone birthday' worthy. For drinks, I opted for an old fashioned and then their signature Cherry Cola Manhattan (Marker's Mark, PX Sherry, Amarena Cherry, Cola Bitters Blend) which was pretty damn tasty, and I'm a sucker for maraschino cherries. Food-wise, we started off with their bread basket (buttery and delicious), and then appetizers consisting of: Grilled Bacon with Peanut Butter and Jalapenos - amazing...I mean, bacon and peanut butter with a kick, what's not to like? Dry Aged Porterhouse Meatballs (gorgonzola crema and black garlic) - not the biggest portion, but still very good. Traditional Steak Tartare - loved the DIY aspect, getting to mix in the egg yolk and spices. yum. For my main, I got the Bone-In Dry-Aged Prime Sirloin - The outside was a bit over-charred, but otherwise fine. Lots of marbling. Next time I'd probably go with the filet. For sides, we got the famed Yorkshire Creamed Spinach Corn Créme Brûlée (famed for a reason, this was a very unique and tasty dish) and the Parmesan Waffle Fries (a friend was deadset on these lol - was fine). Aaaand for dessert, we definitely splurged at got the: Salty Snack (Peanuts, Popcorn, Pretzels, Potato Chips) - big big fan of this, as a peanut and ice cream fan. Sticky Toffee Pudding (Warm Toffee Topping, Pecan Crunch, Malted Ice Cream) - the warm toffee, the crunch from the pecan, the cool ice cream...lovely. Humor Me (on the house - Our Take On The Strawberry Shortcake "Good Humor" Bar) - while we didn't order this, and it was the 'birthday cake/candle holder'...this was probably and surprisingly the best of the bunch! Nostalgic and suuuuper yum! All n all, Quality Meats was, indeed, very quality! It's definitely an expensive AF night out, but sometimes you deserve the finer things in life...and there are lots of fine things at Quality Meats.

    Gnocchi And Cheese

Overall quality of the food was pretty good. We ordered our filets medium rare and they were cooked perfectly. We also had the gnocchi and cheese (their version on Mac and cheese) and it was just ok. Not my favorite. The cream corn brûlée was pretty good. The service was ok but nothing exceptional about it. It was a decent meal.

I won't bury the lede--my friend raved about the steak here, and we didn't even think about it; came to try the 28 Day Dry-Rubbed Porterhouse for Two. It was... excellent. Flavorful and incredibly well seasoned and cooked to order, medium rare. It's pretty no frills for a high end steakhouse--about halfway through I realized there was no steak sauce or anything--bold, I thought... I guess they think their steak is so exceptional it can stand alone. Ultimately I thought it a touch below that--but not very far off.   Beyond the steaks, there were a few unbelievable standouts, including the Corn Crème Brulee side. While I am a creamed spinach stan, this might be the best side I've had in a steakhouse--a sheer delight that hits all those taste buds so hard, we fought over the last bites! A similar delightful surprise to me was the Sticky Toffee Pudding--I'm generally not a dessert person, but this was just an unbelievable complex, delicious delight--contrasting temperatures (with ice cream), textures... and just delicious.   There were also a couple of items that underwhelmed a bit--two things I assumed I'd love. The Bloody Mary Granita Oysters sounded right up my alley, combining two favorites, but the Bloody Mary topping kind of overwhelmed the oyster. In an eerily similar fashion, the Yorkshire Creamed Spinach was too bready, with the Yorkshire taking a bit away from the unctuous joy of creamed spinach. Both were decent, but not quite what I hoped.   Cocktail game was largely solid; I loved my Cherry Cola Manhattan, and my wife enjoyed her Teardrop Martini--I found the Horseradish Vodka, Tabasco, and Teardrop Peppers a bit too spicy and one-note, but it worked for her. It's a loud, bustling spot, seats a bit cramped in some spots, but overall a nice spot, with solid service. Not my overall favorite steakhouse, but it might be yours--an incredibly solid and worthwhile spot to try.

    Dry Aged Porterhouse for 2

LOVE THIS PLACE. Their porterhouse for two is fantastic. Flavorful, good size and well-priced. Everything we ordered was delicious. We had the bacon appetizer and Caesar salad to start. 10/10. I did not think the peanut butter and jalapeño combo could work- I was wrong- delicious and different! For our main- we had the porterhouse for 2. Cooked very well, great flavor. Needed nothing. For sides we got the gnocchi (COULD HAVE EATEN A PLATE OF THIS!), asparagus and broccoli. All great, solid sides. We had the sticky toffee pudding to close out the meal and really enjoyed it! Service was on point. And the vibe is upscale, fun and relaxed. Really enjoyed our meal. Will be back!

We came here for a little holiday get-together with colleagues, and the night started with an unexpected but much-appreciated gesture. After mentioning we were disappointed about losing a reservation elsewhere, our waiter surprised us with complimentary appetizers--delicious ones, at that. We actually felt a bit guilty he overheard us, but the kindness didn't go unnoticed. The starters were great across the board: the asparagus and Brussels sprouts were fantastic, the caviar sliders hit that perfect salty-sweet balance, and the bacon with spicy jam and a peanut-butter base was surprisingly good. The lobster toast stole the show for me--rich, buttery, and hands-down my favorite. The ribs didn't quite win over the group, but the sweet potatoes and meatballs quickly redeemed things with their great flavor. I gave four stars mainly because, while this is a steakhouse, my steak missed the mark twice. I ordered medium-rare but received medium-well both times. I'm not one to send dishes back repeatedly, so I just went with it. The steak itself had great flavor--it just wasn't cooked to the temperature I requested. All that said, it was still a wonderful evening. The service was excellent, the dishes were well executed, and the overall experience more than made up for the hiccup with the steak. I'd definitely come back.

    Double tomahawk and quality potatoes

Went to this restaurant to celebrate my 37th wedding anniversary. The place was a mix of modern with some rustic character, exposed brick which looked original to the building and Edison bulbs. They even had an extensive outdoor seating booth covered and uncovered. wood top tables with a mix of black metals. The place dimly lit. Very upscale in its design. We started with 2 crab cakes .The crab cake had a nice crust to the top generous with the crab meat . It certainly did not have that bread flavor that some crab cakes have . However I was not thrilled with the flavor. It was good but it lacked the tangy flavor im accustomed to in a crab cake . The sauce they served with it with really didn't add much to it. For our main course we ordered the double tomahawk medium rare. The steak"s temp was perfect. I always try my steak without any condiments. they served it with an onion sauce At first I was like this is lacking and I sprinkled just a little salt on it and it went from meh to omg .the salt just brought a symphony of flavors . we also ordered the quality potatoe this was thier take on a loaded potatoes and it was the star of the show so flavorful, you had the cheesy potatoes the smokiness of the bacon and chives, that was just perfection. They gave my husband a glass of wine on the house and a spice cake topped with Carmel cream and ice cream on the sideThe staff were attentive and pleasant. It was a bit confusing because we met 3 different wait staff until we stood with the last one and he was very sweet. The only reason I took 1 star off was because the toadted coconut passion fruit cake sincerely lacked the passion fruit taste. It was mostly vanilla spong cake with a hint of passion fruit that made a suttle appearance at the end of a bite and I would have love to have had more passion fruit . Although the staff were great you felt like they were a group in some secret mission scouting out your table from a far ready to swoop in to clear something constantly. The table was pretty small so I understood. We had plenty of time to enjoy the meal we weren't rushed out. But overall it was a good experience they were very generous. Very congratulatory. We even met the owner. The food was overall amazing as well as the staff. experience

This was my 6th visit to Quality Meats. QM has been my family's favorite go-to steakhouse whenever we visit NYC. The food is quality. The service is friendly and quick, which really helps when you're trying to catch a Broadway show as we were. We had a 5pm reservation, spent two hours dining and made it with 20 minutes to go for our 8pm show. I wouldn't rush this experience - you'll want to relax and enjoy! We were there this time to celebrate a friend's birthday. The quality of food and the service remain top-notch. They delivered a birthday dessert (strawberry shortcake ice cream) in addition to the dessert we ordered. The food was all decadent. We started with the peanut butter bacon - which was melt in mouth, to die for - ordered a tomahawk ribeye steak (shared it - 14 oz is plenty for two people who don't eat a ton of meat in one sitting), a filet, whipped potatoes, and spicy Brussels sprouts, along with a few glasses of wine (not inexpensive at $24 a piece, but those are typical NYC prices and not out of the ordinary), an after dinner espresso martini, and a chocolate cake on a platter (which is a very large portion for just three people). Overall, it was another positive, delicious experience.

    Grilled White asparagus

Quality Meats delivered a very enjoyable dining experience with excellent service and lively, upscale atmosphere. The dry aged ribeye had deep, rich flavor with the distinctive character dry aging brings. While slightly chewier than expected, ordered medium rare, the flavor more than made up for it. The grilled white asparagus with a simple vinaigrette was outstanding fresh, and perfect complement to the richness of the steak. The portion was generous for 1 person, and combination of attentive service, inviting ambiance made for a memorable meal.

    Towels in the bathroom

Always have a great time at the restaurant. Great food. Great ambience. And the service is top-notch. They even give real cloth towels in the bathroom.

One of my favorites!! I highly recommend Quality Meats if staying in New York City. Everything on the menu is delicious. They have one of the best Caesar salads I've ever had. You must try the corn dish. Super convenient location near Central Park. The price is is very reasonable for a New York City steakhouse.

Quality Meats Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Quality Meats

    Is there music?

Yes there is music playing in the waiting area/bar and also music at the dining tables! Not too loud but enough to enjoy

Is there a dress code and is it mandatory? Because I saw classy in the description.

We dined there in dressed down casual attire! Bon Appétit

    Is there a kids menu?

    Nope

Do the have any gluten free dishes?

    Yes

What time do they serve from the lunch menu and the dinner menu?

    Is there a kids menu?

While we don't have a formal children's menu, there are options such as chicken fingers & waffle fries, a petite filet & waffle fries, and gnocchi & cheese; which is our version of mac & cheese.

Does the sidewalk seating outside have heaters? It seems like it would be extremely cold to sit there in the winter...

Hi Meaghan! Our outdoor cabins are heated.

I don't see the Moroccan carrots on the menu. Did you take it off?

    They went back to Morocco.

Are cuts from grass-fed beef or corn-fed. Do they have options to choose from?

I believe it's corn fed unfortunately

Do they serve free range meat?

What grazing density do you accept as "Free Range"?

Will there be any special menus for Resturant week?

    Yes. Specials every day

Do they offer happy hour? If so, when and is it only at the bar?

    Sorry, I don't know.

For the larger "for two" steaks that are listed with "per person" prices on the menu - does it just mean the actual prices are double?

Yes. So it's like $120 for the cut.

Do their steaks come with any sauces? For example, peppered sauce etc

They prepare a delicious sauce tableside. If it’s on special I highly recommend the bone-in filet with bone marrow gratinee. It’s phenomenal!

When is the best time to eat here? I mean day of the week and time of the day.

My belief is that what you should do is to call the restaurant, and ask. Who would know better then those who are there constantly? Certainly Sunday-Wednesday is always slower then Thursday-Saturday. 5 is easier then 8. Good Luck, it is a Top…

How often does the menu change? We specifically want to come for short ribs. Thanks

Seems to be pretty constant- they are fantastic.

A special shoutout to Abel, our server, who made excellent recommendations based on our flavor preferences and helped us discover some incredible drinks. The hospitality, attention to detail, and overall atmosphere were top-notch. Can't wait to come back!

I stopped by Clemente Bar with a friend who was staying at a nearby hotel. I had never been to…read moreEleven Madison Park before and wanted to check it out, not realizing at first that Clemente Bar is a separate concept from the restaurant. We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd come back, especially for the mushroom burger.
